I just had my 1964 Fender Deluxe Reverb worked on by Jeff Andrews of Andrews Amp Lab, and cannot say enough about how much richer and fuller the sound is. When I took it in, it was scratchy and very muddy sounding. After diagnosing a few issues, he replaced some of the caps and underperforming preamp tubes, swapped out my Weber for a WGSG12C, and — aural heaven! The best word to describe the new tone is «balanced» because all the highs, mids and lows work together instead of one overpowering the other. The price was very reasonable compared to a previous shop I had it worked on(with much less satisfactory results). Turnaround time was two weeks, which I also thought was reasonable considering the volume of work he gets. Andrews Amp Lab gets my hIghest recommendation! It’s a 40 minute drive for me one way, but I wouldn’t take my tube amps to any other place in Atlanta.

I have had several amps works on by Mr Andrews and I must say he does a quite spectacular job, in a reasonable time, for a fair price. I have watched him troubleshoot amplifiers and he has a fantastic ear and a sixth sense. He seems to communicate on a psychic telepathic level with the amplifier. It tells him what it needs and he listens. He should be awarded the title of amplifier guru. He builds fantastic andrews amplifiers as well.

Fixed the cathode resistors around the output tubes on Ethan’s Badcat in a timeframe which, prior to this experience, we had only assumed could be accomplished by ripping a hole in space-time. Jeff was knowledgable(both with amps and local traffic patterns), friendly and handsome and we’d recommend his assistance in any capacity he’s willing to provide for you. We can now safely destroy our entire backline before our next Atlanta date without hesitation, knowing he will be waiting patiently to rectify our mistake.
