Automatic Improv

You can call me a fan-​boy. or you might call me a stalker. you can also call me a student. whatever word you use, this is the best group of people doin’ the improv thing in the city.
I took two levels of classes here and I can say without equivocation that the class and the people changed my life. no longer am I a walking contradiction of a bashful extrovert — I’m comfortable in any setting, relieving tension with laughs and, more importantly, *listening. (I’d italicize «listening» but the Unilocal gods won’t allow that.)
Forget about all the think-​on-​your-​feet skills that improv imparts — it’s the camaraderie with my fellow students that I’ll always remember. and still hoping for Level 3, whenever that happens.
My only wish for AI is that these great peeps find a permanent home soon. We need them yukking it up in a regular haunt worthy of their skillz.

As Improv Troupes go, Automatic is the best I’ve seen! A dedicated theater enthusiast like me can tell after just moments that the teamwork and energy of «AU-​TO-​MATIC» is as awesome as it gets. The performers were hystarical, and the scenes were perfect for engaging the audience. I attended a Friday night show and now my wife and I are hooked. We’ll be visiting Atlanta for these shows as often as possible! Thank you Automatic for making my Friday night out fan-​fricken-​tastic!

Gosh I didn’t think I would’ve liked it. I laughed my ass off didn’t laugh this hard in a while. Great experience, great group of improv professionals. I had a blast.

I’ve attended 3 of Automatic Improv’s shows, which were all outstanding! I was in a group of 8 last weekend, half of which were first-​timers, and we all loved it, the neophytes especially. My friends and I tend to call out some downright outlandish suggestions, and Automatic Improv incorporates those suggestions into the show and turns the place into a LAUGH RIOT! In addition to relying on audience input, Automatic typically selects 3 – 4 audience members to be part of each show, and so you get a sense of being a part of the experience as well as being thoroughly entertained. The cast is excellent, and you can even meet, mingle, and have drinks with the cast after each show. Go to Relapse Theatre on Friday night to see both Automatic Improv and their sister improv troupe, «2 Girls 3 Eyes,» for one low price! This is perhaps the most astonishingly funny live entertainment out there!

Automatic Improv puts on a great show! I’d seen them a couple times and really enjoyed their shows, but I’m a big fan of improv. The real test for me was bringing a couple friends who hadn’t seen an improv show before. They loved it! They had no idea what to expect, so it was fun for me to see them having such a great time, too.
A quick note about parking: it is easiest to park in the Bobby & June’s parking lot on 14^th St., and then just walk across the street and into the main entrance. A heads-​up that there’s also a full bar at the theater.
