CLOSED! I went to get some of their delicious chicken salad for lunch and a sign was on the door. As of October 17, 2015 they have closed.

Our first time at Baci/Café Pharr or whatever you want to call it?!? Confusing is what I call it. What purpose does this serve??? The skinny– The food and service were excellent. The atmosphere was nice as well. We shared a spinach salad and we each ordered the chicken kabobs. There was quite a bit of food and the flavors were wonderful. It also didn’t take all that long to get our order but again it was a weekday and there weren’t many people there. BTW — Several people did stop in to order take out… just in case you wanted to pop in and grab something and go. It was a weekday night and we were told to sit where we would be most comfortable. That was nice. I asked if they served wine and I was immediately told, without explanation, «We do not serve alcohol.» Now I’m thinking to myself,… Hmmm… that was a little abrupt and is this some type of restaurant that is all natural and a glass of wine is a no no??? It was weird to say the least. However, I don’t think it was intentional. I looked around and there were decorative signs that said Chardonnay, etc. so I asked the next time our waitress(or the owner???– who was very nice and attentive.) approached the table and she said that they do not have their liquor license. Okay now I feel better :) — I felt like I was a dirty drunk the first go round. All in all this was a nice last minute choice for us and we were pleased with our experience. We will return to try some other dishes. I hope they get a liquor licenses though! I wouldn’t mind a glass of wine with dinner. The last thing I will say and darned it if I’m being negative but here goes — PICK A DARNNAMEPEOPLE. It is beyond silly to call yourself one thing at one point in the day and then another later in the day. I’ll say it again… it creates NOTHING but confusion for your customer. What would Chef Ramsey say? — LOL!!!(seriously that thought did cross my mind after the«no alcohol» statement and then the ability to choose from both menus. What the heck!!) My spinach salad was from Café Pharr and my chicken kabobs were from Baci. I’m surprised I didn’t get two different bills. I would have given this restaurant 5 stars if they could figure out who they actually want to be. Sorry Baci or Café Pharr or ??? :(

PP Service, Inability to Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome Friday evening my friend and I ate at this establishment. As others have stated no sooner had we seated ourselves the server was taking our drink order. Had I not read the on-line menu I would not have known their limited selection. We had the diced beet salad. Enh. While the salad was generous, the beets were diced very small. The server came to check on us and I asked if she could turn the music down. She complied and stated that volume was up to mask the beeping of their computer that had failed. When we had finished our salads she asked us if we wanted to-go cups for our drinks. Perhaps her clue was that we had placed our flatware to one side as we have learned to do when we have completed a course. We reminded her of our dinner order. She had not given it to the cook. He rolled his eyes when she did. Her excuse was that the computer was down and she was not able to enter our order. What happened to pencil and paper? When she did bring our entrees she did not bring flatware. I had a bet with my friend that she wouldn’t. I took some from an unoccupied table. We asked for the check. Surprisingly it was on a scrap of paper in ink. But wait, It gets more interesting. She stated that her credit card terminal was also down. She took my friend’s card and made a rubbing of it on the paper in addition to writing down the number. I suggested my friend take a photo of the receipt. I give this restaurant two thumbs down.

One star. Is generous. We have been here for an hour. Our appetizer hasn’t arrived and it’s been 50 minutes. Our entrees haven’t arrived and it’s been 35 minutes. But hey. The wine we brought for ourselves is great

I eat here at lunch, since our office is in the same shopping center at Town Brookhaven. They have really good salads and are known for their superb chicken salads– they have 3 versions. Since I am gluten free, I always ask them to leave off the yogurt roll and bread. I have found if I call ahead they never leave them off, but if I go and order there, they, for some reason pay more attention. One of my favorite salads is the spinach salad seen in this picture. The dressing is very good, but you can tell there is sugar in it– although it is not too sweet. The spinach is always fresh; it has eggs and a soft goat cheese on it that make it really tasty. #gf #glutenfree

A worthy consideration for a quaint dinner if near Brookhaven. After passing up Baci for other upscale Town Brookhaven choices — Bua, Noche, and Smash — I decided to give it a go. The space had a warm, welcoming feel. We were quickly greeted by a tiny lady in jeans and yellow sneakers who turned out to be our waitress(Tina). She was exceptionally helpful and hospitable; so much I assumed she was an owner or it was a family restaurant. You won’t get this service in a restaurant group! The menu was fairly focused, with 6 – 7 appetizers, the same number of entrees, and 1 dessert. There were as many wine options as food choices. The meal started with a free dish of salted edamame, which usually costs $ 4-$ 6 elsewhere. I ordered a glass of a pinot grigio($ 10), which felt a bit high for the small pour. I selected the sea bass($ 25). The fish was a sizable portion, well presented atop spinach and a light, sweet teriyaki sauce and slices of fragrant ginger. It was also served with some white rice and tempura asparagus. The dish could have served two, but it was so tasty I ate it all! My wife selected the risotto with mushrooms, onion, and Parmesan in a savory, slightly sweet, sauce($ 10). It was a tasty, satisfactory portion especially for the price. At the end of the meal Tina asked if we were celebrating anything, to which I said«Friday». She said she liked us and brought us complimentary sea salt caramel gelato($ 6). While tasty for free, the size and quality was not $ 6. Overall, the dining experience was positive one with some hesitations on price. But my appetite has been whetted enough to try it again.

I absolutely love their walnut chicken salad. And the waitress are super nice. I just wish they would play some ambience music during lunchtime. I always say that I’m going to try something new but at the end of the day I crave the salad so much that I never do. My friend did try a sandwich and he said it was amazing.

Another review that is a few months past due but will never forget my last visit to this fine restaurant located in the Brookhaven Town Center off of Peachtree Rd. I wasn’t able to attend the Unilocal event held here so my boyfriend and I checked this place out on a Sunday night. To our surprise, the food was fantastic. We walked in with zero expectations and our tastes buds were pretty content with the delicious spices and flavors exploding in our mouths. I am a huge fan of the pork tenderloin entrée and would return in a heartbeat and order it again. The meat was cooked well and the overall dish was presented well. Love the interior décor of this place. It’s got a casual yet trendy feel and it’s cute that you drink your beverage of choice out of glass mason jars. If you haven’t visited them yet, be sure to swing by and check out their tasty menu. The pork tenderloin and salmon entrees are highly recommended.

I’ve been to Baci twice now, once for it’s special reopening and then again for dinner with friends before a movie at Cinebistro. This review is for my second time there this past weekend. My boyfriend and I met a couple of our friends there for dinner before a later showing of a new movie at Cinebistro, and since it was a Saturday, I called ahead to make a reservation. When we showed up though, it wasn’t so crowded that we had a problem getting one of the booth /table combos snuggly situated in one corner of the restaurant offering a view of the bar and the rest of the restaurant. After reacquainting ourselves with the regular menu, we ordered a bunch of appetizers to start with. Two orders of bacon wrapped shrimp, lobster mac’n’cheese, and a mozzarella caprese salad. The bacon wrapped shrimp were great — nice and crispy and hot, and the remoulade dipping sauce with them is fantastic(that’s why we ended up getting two orders of it). The mozzarella caprese salad was made with both a fresh ball of mozzarella and very fresh grape tomatoes and well dressed with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Very tasty too. And the lobster mac’n’cheese definitely deserves a shout-out — it was a little unusual because it was served in its own little crock and very, very cheesy and rich(not quite as good as Top Flr’s mac’n’cheese, but then nobody’s is as good as that). We munched on these for a good amount of time while chatting and catching up, then finally did our main selections. After all the apps, my boyfriend and I decided to split the skewer special of shrimp, chicken and steak with veggies on the side, and another side of the mac’n’cheese, and our couple friends got the Baci burger and another order of the skewers. The skewers came out perfectly cooked and the veggies on the side were crisply steamed, and the mac’n’cheese perfectly rounded our meal and left us both full. And judging by the emptiness of our friends’ plates, I don’t think they were too disappointed either. Service was very good the whole evening, and it was very enjoyable overall. I think we’ll definitely go back in the future. Note: Baci only serves beer and wine, no hard liquor, so if you’re looking for a place with mixed drinks, I suggest heading somewhere else like Noche or one of the other establishments with a full bar.

In terms of culinary execution, Baci is arguably the best restaurant in the Town Brookhaven plaza. Of course, this isn’t necessarily saying much considering the competition, but Baci is still a safe bet for a reasonably high quality meal if you happen to be in or around the area. It’s also one of the few«classy» establishments in the plaza, and by classy I mean metal cutlery, post-pubescent waitstaff, and a health score above 90. Food: Chef B.H. Hibbs, of the former Hudson North pop-up restaurant in Atlantic Station, has compiled a seasonly-driven menu consisting of European and American-influenced dishes. During my visit for Sunday brunch, I opted for the chicken and waffles, which was topped with fennel slaw and spicy honey. The chicken was perfectly tender, the flavors were impeccable, and the portion was consistent with the quality and price. My dining partner opted for the burger, which he found to be equally as flavorful. My only complaint was that the food was served luke warm, as if it had been siting in the kitchen for some time before it arrived at the table. Service: Our waitress was friendly and quick, the latter of which was particularly fortuitous considering that we didn’t have much time before our movie started at nearby Cinebistro. The restaurant was at less than 25% capacity during our Sunday morning visit though, so I’m not sure if my experience was representative of the norm. Atmosphere: The interior is tastefully decorated with contemporary décor — consistent with the intimate style of the owners, which also run Café at Pharr. The interior is essentially a single square shaped room, with booths along the right side, a bar along the left side, and tables in the middle. The restaurant also has a small outdoor patio with a handful of tables. Dress is street casual and the clientele is a mix of different ages — however, there weren’t any families or small children during my visit, which was absolutely glorious as far as I’m concerned. Cost: Reasonably priced. Most brunch entrees were around $ 10. On the standard lunch/dinner menu, soups and salads are $ 6-$ 9, sandwiches are $ 6-$ 12, entrees are $ 13 – 17, sides are $ 5-$ 6, and desserts are $ 6-$ 7. Other: Baci is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Each week they host«Spaghetti Mondays» beginning at 5PM, which features the chef’s red gravy and scratch spaghetti for $ 12 until the kitchen runs out. Free parking is available in the plaza garage, or the surface lot spaces located throughout the plaza. The surface lot spaces have a 2-hour time limit, but I’ve never actually observed that rule being enforced.

A half-empty restaurant, one slow-motion waitperson for the entire restaurant, and a menu that’s not sure what it wants to be when it grows up… There are so many other restaurant choices in this area that get it right. I think people who rave about the new chef and the inventive menu really need to get out more.

Two visits in one week — after never having been to a Café at Pharr before. Two words — Yogurt Rolls. First, let me say this… with my tree nut allergy, finding a good chicken salad that is nut free is nearly impossible. Add in curry and I am a happy, happy girl. Baci is no-nonsense and that’s just the way I like it for lunch. You can have your chicken salad as a sandwich, or as a salad plate. I vote for the plate, myself. It comes on a bed of greens, mostly arugula. With slice tomatoes, red seedless grapes, a slice of fresh bread and a side of sweet ginger dressing and a big scoop of curried chicken salad I can devour every morsel. And for«dessert,» you get two yogurt rolls — these delightful pastries filled with yogurt. They are cold(sometimes slightly frozen) and slightly sweet and the perfect finish to this light and refreshing lunch. The service is great — attentive staff(glasses always full), and the prices are quite respectable. Add in the occasional Scountmob and you cannot go wrong. I cannot wait to visit the other Café at Pharr locales and enjoy their other salad offerings, but the curried chicken salad has me hooked.

By day, this Brookhaven eatery is a popular lunch destination known as Café at Pharr. By night, it morphs into its culinarily-challenged twin known as Baci, a fancy-sounding restaurant that serves quite average food. I’m kinda blown away by this place getting four stars here. If my experience is the norm, you’re better off, and richer, buying some frozen meals at Trader Joe’s. Due to our having a ScoutMob, we thought we’d give this place a try. My significant other had sea bass. I had lasagna. My $ 18 lasagna was the driest I’ve ever had. Served in a ramekin, it had no visible tomato sauce. Just meat, cheese and pasta. It was so rich, it desperately needed to be cut with some marina. My side salad was also dry. It was dressed, although not visibly. Just to be sure, I touched the greens. My fingers were dry. When I asked the waitress for some red sauce and dressing, she came back with no sauce, and didn’t offer an explanation until I asked her. «We don’t have marina,» she said apologetically. «The lasagna comes pre-made.» Really? No red sauce, and you bill yourself as a Mediterranean-Italian restaurant, AND you charge that much? Then it hit me. This way-overpriced parched lasagna is likely frozen and they just brown it in oven!(If it isn’t, it sure tastes like it). «It’s not like you asked her to whip up a bechamel sauce.» my girlfriend said. «You just wanted some left-over red sauce.» As for the $ 19 fish, which was topped with fresh ginger slivers, I thought it was decent. Very rich, with a butter-maple syrup flavor. My girlfriend called it «adequate.» She liked the fish enough. But the sauce, she said, was too sweet(I sorta liked it). And the temperature of some of the food, such as the lukewarm spinach, was seriously uneven for such a simple dish. At first, I thought it was a steal at $ 19. Now, it seems about right. Her meal was so mediocre, and mine, so ridiculous, that we had to stop into a good restaurant – Olde Blind Dog Tavern a few doors down – to get desert to make up for it all. So, an hour or so later, I ate my meh lasagna at home after heating it in the microwave with some jarred marina I had to go to Publix to get. Which, of course, defeats the entire purpose of going out in the first place.

We have a Scoutmob discount and decided to give this place a try. I ordered the Chilean seabass and needless to say I love my order very much. The fish was very fresh and I love the combination of sea bass on a bed of spinach. Two ladies who peeked in through the glass from outside, saw my seabass and entered right in the restaurant to order the same dish. For the dessert, we ordered the s’more to share. It was good but a tad too sweet for my own personal liking. There is nothing fancy about this restaurant, just plain good food with excellent service. This is definitely a place I will be back even without Scoutmob.

Thanks to my friend and Scoutmob, I was at the Town/Brookhaven for the first time. What a cute area! Since I got there pretty early in the evening, I didn’t have any problems finding a parking spot in front of the restaurant. Just like the other reviews commented, the service was excellent! I would have to add that their pre-meal bread was probably one of the best I’ve had in Atlanta. Wow… The bread is nice and crisp with a hint of rosemary and it comes with a sweet spread on the side. YUM!!! The server was nice enough to give us two more baskets! haha Here’s what we ordered: Chilean Sea Bass– This was my least favorite I liked how the fish was cooked — crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, but the whole dish lacked flavor. Baci Burger What’s the big deal about the Kobe Beef? It was good, but nothing too special. All the condiments are served in a separate dish and you get a side of sliced tomatoes and spring mix to put on the burger. The duck fat fries tasted the same as any other fries. Lobster Mac-n-Cheese YUMMMY!~ Very Creamy and cheesy — just the way I like it. You should thoroughly mix everything before you start eating since the lobster meat was on the bottom of the bowl. Did I mention how awesome their bread is? hahahaa I would definitely want to come back and try their other dishes!

What a great find — probably one of the best finds thanks to Scoutmob. Food was delicious, service was fantastic, and the atmosphere was nice too. The only thing I didn’t like was the parking situation … not their fault but parking overall is a challenge in the Town shopping center on Friday nights so keep that in mind when scheduling your dinner dates. We ended up parking in the Marshalls lot which I guess is … good exercise :) DUCKCONFITRAVIOLI — $ 18 Fantastic dish — thanks to our server and the host for both raving about the duck ravioli. I’m so glad I listened! The duck filling was so yummy, and so was the topping of carmelized onions, apples, and honey. It was definitely on the sweet side which I love but if sweet isn’t your thing, you probably should opt for another dish. Portion was good too. BACIBURGER — $ 14 The Kobe burger was very tasty and juicy(but maybe a little salty) — loved the fries too. It also comes with mixed greens — make sure you ask the server for their house vinaigrette. Great choice too. I’ll definitely come back — based on the Unilocal reviews, I’d like to try their risotto and their lobster mac-n-cheese. I’d also like to try their lunch menu — my friend was raving about their walnut chicken salad. FYI — the restaurant name is «Baci» for dinner, and«Café at Pharr» for lunch.

I was so excited to try this place after reading all the reviews, and it took getting a well-timed Scout Mob 50% off to get me through the door, but my first impression of this place is eh. I walked in, and most of the tables were full. I looked around for a hostess, or even a waitress, and not seeing one, chose to seat myself at the bar. A waiter immediately approached me, leaned over and asked, are you ready to order? I seriously hate it when that happens, I mean, of all the questions you can start with, like, can I get you anything to drink? would you care for a menu? you chose to start off with that one?! When I asked for a menu, he grunted and plopped one in front of me. Great start! After I give him my order, I let him know that I have a scout mob discount, which he abruptly turns around and walks off, leaving me with a WTF expression?! I decided on the shrimp salad sandwich and it was brought out in 5 minutes. To begin with, the bread is thick sliced, tomatoes and lettuce were proportionally sized and fresh, but the shrimp — it just tasted weird. Like bland, with a thin layer of miracle whip or something on top. I took 4 bites and had enough. The waitress finally comes over, and I tell her that the sandwich wasn’t great, and when she got a chance, I’d actually like to order something else. I give her the new order(a club sandwich, a much safer bet). she proceeds to jab her finger into the untouched portion of the shrimp sandwich and ask«On wheat?». Really with the finger jab? I get the club sandwich, and its decent enough to make it past my tonsils. It was really dry, and the ingredients separately was good, but together, they just didn’t make music. The service was a bit better afterwards, but I noticed that a LOT of customers were glancing at their watches or lining up at the cash register waiting for their ticket. I had high hopes for this place and am disappointed with the service and dry, flavorless food.

Checked out dinner at the newest addition to Town Brookhaven last night. They only opened on Monday this week, so I feel like I’m one of the cool, in-the-know peeps hitting it so early on. I made sure to go on an empty stomach so I could delve into each course properly, but I sadly could not manage to keep enough room open for dessert. Sad face. I began with the Caprese salad, which was really well done. Imma a big olé’ fan of giant balls of cheese, so you can imagine my excitement when I was brought a dish covered with tomatoes, basil, and balsamic vinegar & oil, topped off with a snowball of mozzarella yummy. I cleared the plate. For my entrée, I got the risotto of the day, which happened to be white asparagus. The portion was really quite perfect. The risotto was excellently cooked, and I loved the mildness of the asparagus tossed into the mixture. I cleared the plate. Again. I had to order a bowl of duck fat fries to go with it, even though rice and potatoes don’t exactly sit next to each other on the bus. The fries were crispy, with a nice smooshy inside. I didn’t feel like an idiot at all for ordering them. For dessert, I watched my husband marvel in his cheesecake and espresso. I really wish I could’ve partaken in the fun. However, since I plan to definitely go back, I guess I can do it then.
