Came here for brunch on a Saturday. It wasn’t busy at all. Sat on the patio which is a cool spot. Service is excellent. Ordered veggie omelette with grits. The veggie omelette consists of spinach, artichoke, tomato, and mushroom. This is by bar the best omelette I’ve had in town. It has a healthy taste and there is a little spice to it which I love. The grits are excellent. I strongly recommend!

The lamb burger! Oh my goodness! The roasted tomato marmalade, the feta, the perfectly cooked lamb! Unbelievable. And the jalapeño aioili? So freaking good to dip your fries into. Add a crisp beer like the Fat Tire I had, and you’re in heaven!

Such a big fan of this neighborhood spot. Came here late one night in the summer to have drinks(which have excellent names) and the staff was really laid back, attentive, and friendly. We sat on the patio and ended up ordering some food as well. The place feels a bit tucked away while still being in the thick of O4W. Would highly recommend based on localized vibe and excellent food/drinks.

Bantam Pub — you owe me some strawberries. Some ladies from my dinner club got together for brunch. Bantam Pub is right by my house, but I hadn’t gotten around to trying them out. The building is quite small and I actually passed it and had to turn around. Keep your eyes open! There is a small parking lot that can be accessed by the side street(not Ralph McGill). You can also park on the street. Accessible via BeltLine if you are ok with walking up/down a dirt hill. We sat out on the patio since it was decent out. I was conflicted on what to order. I ended up with the bacon loco pancake. It was the special of the day so I was concerned that it wouldn’t be on the menu when I returned. The pancake had bacon, chocolate chips, and bananas inside. It was supposed to have strawberries on top. But mysteriously the strawberries ended up on my friends’ French toast fosters(the other item I was considering ordering). Also, the pancake was huge. Trust me, I stuffed myself polishing it off. We were all very happy with our orders. What a great place for brunch. I will be back for that and to try out lunch and dinner.

It’s a small venue, but our group of four was seated immediately. Quite surprised it wasn’t more busy for Sunday brunch. Good amount of parking available(parallel parking). They have a small but creative menu. It was hard to decide on what to order. I got the shrimp and grits, and my friends got the duck leg confit and lamb bacon omelette. Always go for the house potatoes. The portions are FILLING. Really enjoyed my meal and experience. Would love to come back and work my way through the brunch menu.

Really cool spot for drinks and food. They make a really good old fashion. They might have the best wings in Atlanta. Everything I have had on the menu so far has been amazing. I like that they do not have a TV in the bar. That way you are not staring up checking watching whatever game might be on. Service is Friendly and fast.

Love this O4W spot! Impressive pub fare in a cozy atmosphere. Bantam has a laid back neighborhood vibe with intimate indoor and outdoor spaces. Plenty of parking on street. Started off with the hummus plate and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t your standard hummus and pita. The plate came with a huge portion of pickled veggies, warm pita and hummus. Perfect to share with a group. For mains, I ordered the lamb burger per other Unilocal reviews and it didn’t disappoint. Very flavorful! My husband ordered one of the nightly stew specials and really enjoyed it. The wine and beer list was pretty solid as was the service. Will definitely go back to this neighborhood gem!

Very busy tonight but I found a spot at the bar. I was craving red meat and the host suggested the hangar steak. It was very good! Had a brown mushrooms aside and potatoes. It would’ve been perfect if there were more spinach, only had a tiny bit. Steak was cooked to perfection! For dessert, I had the brownie a la mode. Great presentation! Brownie was awesome! Nice crunchy ends! If I had one last meal, the brownie a la mode would be it! I like the strawberries and blueberries with the dessert! Yuuuuummmmm!

This is a good local place. Went here for lunch. I had the Lamb burger with fries and my colleague had the Flying Pig with arugula salad. Both meals were very good. Service was slow and not very available, especially when we were waiting for the check. They weren’t very busy so I’m not sure what the problem was but it wouldn’t keep me from trying again.

This place has a quintessential neighborhood feeling to it. Super cute pub with an awesome patio. Service was friendly yet laid back. One of my girlfriends and I were here last Wed night. It was a nice, slightly cool evening and we sat outside for 3 hours eating, drinking, and chatting. There were a number of other folks around us. So grateful to be at a cool place to eat and drink without worrying about losing your voice or hearing due to loud music or rowdy folks. The best surprise of the evening was learning that wine bottles were half off that night! Of course we had to get a nice bottle of red. I cannot recall the name but it was a delicious red blend. Just want to warn any wine snobs(which I can be sometimes), the wine is served in non wine glasses which is a little annoying but the wine was still delicious. We were not as hungry so we decided to split a veggie burger and side order of lobster Mac and cheese. Both were yummy! The overall menu looked great. Looking forward to returning and trying more items on the menu.

Now that I have been to my neighborhood pub more than a handful of times, it’s past time that I review Bantam Pub! It’s located near the Eastside BeltLine trail, and for those who aren’t as lucky as I am to live a short walking-distance to Bantam Pub in Old Fourth Ward, there is a private parking lot in the back as well as street parking available. The small and cozy local pub offers a variety of beers and tasty cocktails along with delicious appetizers and entrees. Bantam Pub serves different appetizer and entrée specials on a daily basis, which you will find written up on a chalk board above their kitchen door. I’ve tried several different items from both their specials board as well as their regular menu, including their Grilled Angus Burger, Lobster Mac and Cheese, Mussels, and wings. The burger is good but not among the best I’ve had in Atlanta. And although it is DELICIOUS, the Lobster Mac and Cheese is a very rich and heavy dish, so I would recommend it as an appetizer to share with maybe two or three friends as opposed to having it as an entrée. The Mussels, served in a bowl of garlic cream ale sauce with a side of bread, are pretty tasty but do have a strong aftertaste of beer flavor, which those who do not like beer may not appreciate. Finally, the wings are decent but tiny, so I would not advise ordering them as an entrée unless you are not very hungry. | Favorite Sandwich | * Bantam Chicken Sandwich with Fries($ 10) — Among the food items that my husband have tried at Bantam Pub, one of their sandwiches — the Bantam Chicken Sandwich — is our absolute favorite. This sandwich contains grilled chicken breast with bacon, mushrooms, onions, parmesan cheese, and jalapeño aioli. I usually hate onions(primarily raw), but the ones in the sandwich are caramelized and delicious. The jalapeño aioli is AMAZING. Ask for a side of it(at no extra charge — yay!) to enjoy with your fries. Trust me, you will thank me later. =) The distinct flavors from the various ingredients in this sandwich come together in perfect harmony in your mouth, and you will leave wanting more. | Favorite Cocktail | * Beyond Daddy Issues — If you’re a fan of sweet, fruity cocktails like I am, you will love this one. It’s a pretty pink drink made of Grandaddy Mimm’s Moonshine, pineapple, sour, grenadine, and cherry with a Tootsie Pop swizzle! Strong AND tasty! Service is usually great, but there have been a few minor mistakes here and there on busy evenings. Most recently, a friend received cold fries, and our appetizer order was inaccurate. Although they were sure to make things right, I didn’t appreciate the vibe that I was getting that was almost as if the server was blaming me for the miscommunication of the appetizer order. But it was no big deal since I know they are usually spot on. Overall, Bantam Pub gets 4.5 stars for their great food and drinks.(Note: I’m not a fan of beer, so you’ll have to ask my husband, Ray S., about their beer selection.) Since we do live so close, the hubs and I will continue to frequent Bantam Pub for their excellent chicken sandwich, yummy cocktails(or beer, in my husband’s case), and unique appetizers. If you haven’t had a chance to check out this O4W gem, I highly recommend you do!

When I’m choosing a place to meet up with visiting friends, I ask myself: –Is parking easy and breezy? –Are the prices not ridiculous? –Is there a respectable drink menu with cocktails and draft beer? –Do the food offerings appeal to vegetarians/special diet in question? –Does it have good word-of-mouth/Yelp reviews? –Is it just plain cool? I’m pleased to report that Bantam Pub(I used to confuse this place with Bantam + Biddy) ticks all my boxes. A friend who lives in the area sang the praises of the lamb burger so I knew what I would be getting. Parking was simple since there’s a lot right behind the restaurant, off Ensley, and street parking was also a choice. We sat inside for climate control reasons, but the large patio was hoppin’ for sure. The bouquet of fresh flowers on the table included pitcher plants, very neat! The lamb burger($ 13.50) lived up to our expectations. Our terrific server recommended getting it medium so we did that. Exercise caution since spherical«crispy micro onions» can escape their focaccia bun confines and roll into your lap. For extra dollars, I subbed fries for a side salad(you could also elect to have sweet potato fries, an arugula salad, or the daily vegetable). My friend loved the veggie burger. Apparently the brat plate was the weakest link, though the sauerkraut and mashed potatoes did earn raves. I didn’t try one of the amusingly-named cocktails but I did consume beer in dessert form. The Guinness cake($ 7) was delightful and shouldn’t be missed if you’re a sweet fiend like me. I love when chocolate chips are contained in a cake; they add small chocolatey bursts of awesome. The cake even came with some strawberry halves. Our waitress also recommended the bread pudding, amongst other choices. She split our checks without us even asking which very much impressed all of us. Some negatives: the chair I was sitting on was a tad uncomfortable since the edge where your thighs go was higher that the middle of the seat. And it was on the loud side too. Good tunes but could be dialed down some; I had to strain to hear across the table. And I wish subbing fries for a side salad was less than $ 3. Our friends kept remarking that this was a cool place so I patted myself on the back for suggesting Bantam Pub. I’ll be putting down Small Chicken/Batman Pub for a return visit!

Other Unilocalers were right on when they recommended the lamb burger. Perfect taste combination and I’m always a sucker for onion straws. The calimari was great, too, but the 2 sauces put them over the top. Did happy hour with friends and sat outside. Even though it’s middle of summer, it was nice and cool. The huge fans were terrific. Loved the vibe and atmosphere, too.

This place caught my eye as I was exploring Old Fourth for dinner. Turned out to be one of the best pub menus I’ve seen in the ATL. The calamari was flavorful and prepared well. Salmon was also very good. Lots of fresh specials available. Atmosphere is fresh, chill, and comfortable with indoor and outdoor seating options. I was impressed.

I think it took me so long to get to Bantam Pub because it’s in a random location on Ralph McGill. You’re not just going to walk by it without knowing where it is. Either way, I love the vibe of this bar/restaurant. Very casual, but the put out excellent drinks and have great prices on everything. I think it’s one of the best values in town. The beer selection is excellent and most are around $ 6 for drafts. Their cocktail prices are even better. I had a twist on a Moscow Mule which was only $ 7.50! The veggie plate we had was delicious as well as the hangar steak tapas. I’d recommend this place to anyone. Though we sat at the bar, their outside spaces are pretty funky too. We’ll be back soon!

Came here for post brunch drinks after walking for twenty minutes in heels to find it.(The pain.) Our server looked like he had stepped out of Woodstock and should be playing with a lava lamp or something, but damn it if he wasn’t it the nicest dude with a chill vibe I loved. We had some Moscow mules to start and then ordered some other drinks I don’t remember but were highly recommended by the server. I also ordered the hangar steak appetizer which was pretty good but I couldn’t finish because I was stuffed. My best friend ordered a chicken soup that was also super tasty. Definitely want to try out their brunch with the boyfriend soon. Cheerio.

Everything was delicious! The Bantam chicken sandwich knocked us out of the park, and we didn’t leave a bite of the shrimp and grits behind! There are also lots of other things I want to try at Bantam Pub, but there’s no way I’m leaving without that bantam chicken sandwich. It’s a masterpiece of blended flavor. The staff seems a little caught off guard by the large crowd there for 2pm lunch. It was a sunny day during winter, so I think a lot more people were out and about than the staff expected. All the staff were very friendly, though. No complaints there whatsoever. The décor inside was interesting and a bit edgy, but if the weather’s nice, I’d always go for outdoor seating. Get the bantam chicken sandwich! You won’t regret it!

I’m very happy to have found this little gem in O4W. Loved our 1st visit here so we’ll be back for sure. Creative & delicious food. Great service. Beautiful patio. Reasonable prices. Private parking lot. Full bar available. Seat yourself. We wanted to order everything on the menu because they all sounded so good but ended up with these items: ~ soft shell crab benedict — wonderful flavor combination ~ duck confit over waffle w/fried egg — delicious! huge portion The dessert menu sounded amazing but we were too full for any dessert unfortunately.

With sincere apologies to Troy S, I must add my pen to those acclaiming Batman, er, Bantam Pub. Really nice place. It’s small, as noted. With just a few tables in the main area and a smallish bar, they definitely need the patio to accommodate the hoards certain to flock here. As it was for us, coming pretty early on a Saturday, we were lucky to score two prime bar seats after a couple got up and left as we came in. The rest of the bar was taken. So, good start. If the bar would have been unavailable, I think we would have sat on the patio. The only inside table with seats was the one right next to the door. I can see as the weather cools(again) that spot is not where you’ll want to sit. Drinks: spouse had a couple of wine samples served up to her before choosing. Nice. I went with a rye IPA on draft. Looking over the draft list, it’s not bad but I can see them needing to add a porter, perhaps. They had one stout, I think, but it’s high gravity and that isn’t for everyone. They have Guinness. I was happy with my choice. Bantam has a very nice menu, although they do seem to focus on lobster. Which is great, if you’re not allergic to it as I am. Coming off reading Unilocal reviews, I chose the lamb burger and spouse went with salmon on arugula. I insisted we also get the veggie plate and so should you. Lamb burger: excellent. I was a little wary of the feta as it’s not my first choice for burger cheese, but it works really well on Bantam’s version. Good fries — I see no reason to splurge for the sweet potato fires offered as an extra cost option. Salmon also very tasty. Here, if you’re not one to use a lot of salad dressing, the arugula bed serves more as presentation than anything. The dressing on the side, however, is very nice. I think the veggie plate won out. The brussels sprout are curried just right — not over-spiced; the carrots roasted to perfection; the pureed cauliflower divine. I found myself using the cauliflower as a dip for the fries. With winter setting in, I may delay a return visit. I like bar seating but that very nearby door worries me. So, Bantam is yours until the spring, Troy. But I’ll be back.
