Nasty!!! Standing in line, a customer brought a cone back in the store from outside… the server took the cone and placed it back on top the stack of unused cones. For me, thats a sign that this place might have other unsanitary infractions. Enjoy at your own risk.

What ever happened to all the Baskin Robbins? No really, it’s like they’re all gone these days. Don’t people like ice cream anymore? Don’t people like ice cream cakes anymore? I think these are valid questions. Sure, boutique and«indy(ish)» companies like Jeni’s have emerged, and then there’s the litany of places like Brewster’s or Cold Stone that will mix stuff into ice cream, and the rise of froYo, and Publix can make a mean ice cream cake in their own right, but I still find it hard to believe that in fat people ‘Murica, we’re actually at a point where a company like Baskin Robbins is closing stores left and right in a market like Atlanta. Anyway that being said, if there’s been one Baskin Robbins that I could often count on to one, exist, two, be open, and three, actually provide quality service, it’s this particular Baskin Robbins on Cobb Parkway. Now I don’t live anywhere particularly close to this location, but I do work within a reasonable distance, so I’ve often found myself coming to this one, because frankly, they’ve never let me down. Every year, I feel an obligation to fulfill an annual requirement for a ice cream roll cake, and in years prior, I’ve sometimes been able to get them from the Baskin Robbins near where I actually live, but now, all of them have either closed, been fully integrated into Dunkin Donuts, and/or are just plain unreliable to actually want to help a customer out. Cobb Parkway’s Baskin Robbins however, is the exception to the rule, and quite frankly as far as I’m concerned, the only good Baskin Robbins left, in the Metro Atlanta area. My last experience there sealed the icing on the cake(no pun intended har har), as I called ahead, confirmed they had a roll cake, and went to go pick it up. Upon arriving, apparently some cake ninja had swooped in and purchased the last roll cake out from under me, leaving me in a position where I was about to become extremely dejected and upset. In a rare demonstration of business wishing to please customer, the manager whom I’d been speaking to immediately sprung into action and asked what my criteria was, and he would get one made right then. Dumbfounded at the notion of the unicorn known as «good service» flying into the store, I actually forgot for a second what I needed, before telling him. In less than 30 minutes, they contacted me and let me know that my roll cake was ready to go. Just like that, they absolutely refused to lose my business and did whatever it took to keep it, even over a $ 21 cake. Their location is great, convenient off of 285 when you want to just get off the gridlock and have an ice cream cone while you cool off, and as is the company’s credo, they’ve always got the 31 signature flavors that most of us all know and occasionally love. Typically, I don’t bother reviewing chains that you can basically get in any city in the world, but with the rapidly declining number of Baskin Robbins stores, at least in Atlanta, I figure it’s good to shed some light on at least one particular location, that apparently still cares.
