Awesome food and very tasty. I posted a bad review and they took steps I guess. I was very impressed with speed and food. Keep it up guys.

I like the taste of Goat Kheema dosa and most of the indo-Chinese varieties are pretty tasty.

Food is really good! I loved their veg biryani and shahi paneer. Butter naan was fresh and warm so plus point for that. I’m only taking one point off because the server wasn’t friendly and they were moping right next to us while we were eating.

Had a take out order. I had the butter chicken(chicken makhani) and it was one of the best I have ever tasted. My husband had the Dal Tadka — which he said was very spicy even though he asked for no spice, but other than that the taste of it was good. It was about 3 or 4 months ago and we had more, but don’t really remember how the other food tasted except for the above.

Reasons for 1 star — 1) Comparatively expensive food. I ordered for 1 paav bhaji &1 cholle Bhature to go on the eve of December 17. The cost was roughly $ 26. Almost making you believe that the food would be worth it! 2) Quality of food — Cholle bhature — Bhatura were more like baked bread & cholle tasted like boiled cholles dipped in salt water with some haldi & mirch. TASTELESS! Pav Bhaji — Had this strange smell of some pure as if it was mixed with some other curry. Only tasty thing were the rolls/buns with the bhaji ;) but I can also get them from any Indian store for less than $ 3! :D 3) Service — By the time I went there, about 15 minutes late, my food was already cold! I just moved into the area and I know I am never going back again!

This is the worst and junk restaurant I never seen in my entire life. They say it as Briyani but it’s only junk masala and you will get stomach problem after eating that junk Briyani. And also they have the worst staffs and they don’t know how to treat the customers and they always rude and they think that they are serving free food to customers even though they charge too much money for that junk food.

This Biryani place is off course not as good as Authentic Hyderabadi Biryani but at-least they tried to come close. I would have given a four star if they are consistent in the taste. It always fluctuates. You may never know when they make it really good and when they screw it up. Just because we don’t have any other authentic biryani place in metro Atlanta We end up coming here. We used to have an authentic Biryani place in Atlanta near Navrang theater but for some unknown reason they closed it. Sorry folks, we got stuck with this.

Bawarchi has redeemed itself. My husband has been for lunch a few times since our first 2 horrible experiences and he told me each time the service has been quick and he was able to actually get food! I was reluctant to try them again, but I’m glad we did. For appetizers we got the Chicken 999 and samosa chat. For the price, the portions were huge! Both of them were delicious and I highly recommend the Chicken 999. We also got the Szechuan Chicken Fried Rice and the vegetable biryani. Again, the portions were great with enough left over for 1 – 2 more meals. The rice on both was cooked perfectly and both dishes were really flavorful. I’m usually not a fan of the raita at restaurants, but I loved the one that came with the biryani. Service was quick, food was good, and the place was clean. We came during a slow time, so I’m not sure how they are during peak lunch or dinner hours, but I would def try them again if I was in the area.

Went in to dine-in and the restaurant was quite occupied with other diners considering it was Thursday evening. The food as usual was good but the scene was a bit chaotic. We ordered for 3 Dosas. While waiting for our order we decided to order a portion of Pakoras which was served promptly. After a while the server came with 2 Dosas, when we enquired about the 3rd we were told that they can make only two Dosas at a time(not sure why) and the 3rd would take some time. We informed the person that we were OK and would share the 2 Dosas between the 3 of us and assumed that the order for the 3rd would be cancelled. We meanwhile also ordered for a Biriyani to-go. When we had finished eating(about 20 minutes) the server came with the 3rd Dosa! When we said we had assumed it was cancelled, he was OK with it and took it back without a fuss. Then the wait for the Biryani started. I meanwhile decided to go to the counter and pay and I found out that the server(who had taken our order) was about to charge for 3 dosas but had missed out on the Pakoras. The mistake was promptly corrected and it was a genuine slip-up but the level of confusion was at the highest. Moral of the story. Get a take-out and if you decide to dine ensure you are not a large group. I also saw another group of people(about 6 to 7 at a table) got their ordered delivered in installments. Not a very good dining experience. If you wait for everyone’s order to arrive someone will eat cold food or you can start eating as it arrives and in this case someone will be watching and someone will be eating at any given time. I get a feeling that the restaurant was not planned and designed for serious dine-in and the capacity of their kitchen is limited and cannot cater for large groups.

Food was pretty good. Not outstanding. Liked the fact that they use ve dry little oil. Food isn’t very greasy. U ordered the mayor masala dosa and it wasn’t spicy at all. Sambar was nice. And they gave a variety of chutneys. Will Def come again if I am in the area.

Just recently had a take-out order of Biryani from here — HAD to be the best biryani I’ve ever had in Atlanta. You can really taste the delectably packaged lemon, saffron, yogurt, coriander and french onions. We had one veg and one chicken. The«Dum» style cooking is uniquely distinct: well marinated pieces of meat are sandwiched between several layers of long Basmati rice strands and cooked on steaming charcoal. The chicken tikka masala was on point, as always but I really enjoyed the spicy spinach pakodas(mirchi chilles interspersed with Spinach and fried) It’s so nice to have a great tasting Biryani House without having to go all the way to Decatur. Terrific takeout experience!

This is probably closer to a 2.5. There’s just better Indian food out there but not much in this area. I’ve gone twice now, once in the beginning when the waits were crazy insane. About 25 mins for one dosa. It’s been a few months but the quality of food is just OK. Service hasn’t gotten that much better. We had to track them down to order and to get our checks. I tried their tikka masala which is one of my staples when I’m comparing Indian restaurants. This was so orangey and bland. I’m not sure what was going on but it was not too appetizing. I’m usally sopping up tikka with naan but I left my remains. And so did my lunchmate. I do hope they can pick up the slack because Sandy Springs is mostly an Indian food desert.

I spotted this place while trying out another restaurant in the same shopping center and since I love Indian food, I decided to pop in and have a second dinner. Because that’s completely acceptable and guilt-free, right? Don’t judge me. This is a relatively small restaurant that was quite busy for a random Wednesday night, but the service was good and quick. My litmus test whenever I try a new Indian restaurant is always butter chicken and saag paneer, so of course that’s what I went with here. The butter chicken was good but could have been a little creamier. Unfortunately I thought the saag was just too salty and it overwhelmed the spinach flavor and made it difficult to eat. Overall not too bad, but there are other Indian places closer to me that I like better.

So glad to have a decent Indian place around. Compared to some of the best Indian food I’ve experienced Bawarctli maybe deserves 3 – 3.5 stars but given the comparative options in the area I’m going with 4 stars. The food, while not mind-blowing, is relatively fresh, high quality and«real Indian» not that canned gringo slop you get at some«Indian» restaurants. They also have a few nice touches I appreciate such as the Halal meat and filtered water(a HUGE plus for me). My only complaints were as follows: 1) Mango Lassi was way too sweet 2) there are more eco-friendly options than styrofoam to-go containers. 3) the food was very good, not mind-meltingly good You won’t regret it!

Two of my coworkers had eaten at Bawarchi several times since they recently opened a few months ago. One of my coworkers said that the Biryani dish is prepared the same way that it is in his hometown in India which makes this restaurant so popular to many Indian diners. We went there for lunch and arrived before noon so that we could get a table before it got crowded. We started off with the Chili Fish appetizer which was lightly battered fried tilapia stir fried with peppers, green chilies, onions and a spicy chili sauce. It was garnished with red onion slices and lemon. It was very tasty. One of my coworkers ordered the Chicken Biryani which he thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered the Chicken Vindaloo entrée which is one of my all-time favorite spicy Indian chicken dishes that I first tried 12+ years ago at another local Atlanta eatery in Little Five Points. I’ve ordered this dish several times over the years at other local restaurants, but it never quite tasted the same as when I first tried it. Bawarchi’s Chicken Vindaloo was cooked perfectly. It had great flavor and had that hot chili pepper spiciness that I remember from the very first time that I tried this dish. I loved it. By the time we finished lunch, the restaurant had a line of people waiting for a table. I will definitely be coming back again to try their other dishes.

Parking is plentiful. We were the first in line. They had paper menus scattered on tables and at the ordering counter. We ordered the goat biryani(good goat but limited quantity). The fragrance of the rice, fried onions, and cilantro was enough to make the mouth water and stomach juices churn. I love the tender chicken 65. It wasn’t spicy enough for my Indian friend but I’m OK with anything that doesn’t make me sweat, my nose water, and my eyes shed tears. I learned to sprinkle it with lemon. Oh my. Did that add a new element to it or what?! We thought we were too full but the dosa came out. The crêpe looks big but it really is thin, almost as thin as a sheet of paper. It was lined with a spicy chutney, but have no fear. There were plenty of yogurt sauces(for biryani, actually) to go around. The dosa came with four sauces: coconut, mint, tomato, and a thicker stew-like broth. My favorite is the tomato! I’m salivating again thinking of it. I don’t have a sweet tooth but my «potato tooth» was pleased by the potatoes inside the dosa. This was more than enough to make up for my disappointment that they don’t make samosas until 4 pm. Mango lassi has a consistent burst of mango flavor. It wasn’t too sweet but I still couldn’t drink it all. You can also ask for a glass bottle of water from the refrigerator for your table. Service is nice. I was just a bit surprised the food took longer than expected, considering we were the first in line when the restaurant opened. Price is reasonable for the quantity and satiety.

(much longer review in my food blog) BawarcHi Biryani Point is located at 6627 Roswell Rd, STE A, Atlanta GA30328 in the same Publix shopping center that hosts Ippolito’s(it’s a couple of business to the left of Ipps) in the former location of a different Indian restaurant(from what I recall). The storefront is very unassuming and belies the delicious goodness found within. I had heard about the restaurant(part of a chain) previously and finally did lunch here with a group from work including several Indians and vegetarians. We were able to sample several dishes, with the star being the biryani. I like to describe biryani to those uninitiated as «Indian fried rice» — not that it’s fried, but it does approximate what many Americans have tried that’s similar in classic Americanized Chinese cuisine. The interior is rather unassuming but well lit — the space is long-and-narrow with an ordering counter along one side, halfway inside. You can ask to be seated and will be served at your table. I was excited to try BawarcHi as I fell in love with biryani while visiting India earlier this year. Being Asian, I usually prefer basic sticky rice over fried rice — and the usual Chinese stuff doesn’t work for me when I do feel like it fried — my preference is the egg fried rice you find in Japanese restaurants. You do need to be a bit careful as the cooking experience often involves whole seeds — nothing like getting a bite of whole clove, a cardamom pod or a star anise fruit. Our group during lunch comprised 7 – 8 people so we ordered a variety of foods. For appetizers, we ordered Chicken 65 and Chilli Chicken — both were quite good and disappeared before I could get photos of them — actually much of what we tried went too quickly for me to get good shots. I had a bit of discussion with my friend Sangam regarding«Chicken 65» — I’ve seen this before, most recently at Himalaya’s on Peachtree Ind. We ordered two biryanis — a Boneless Chicken Biryani(which I highly recommend) and a vegetarian Veg Dum Biryani — both were quite delicious and either could be shared by two — they are served in large crocks. We also ordered a Paneer Makhni and an Egg Masala(those for the vegetarians), a Chicken Tikka Masala and a Mutton(goat) Masala — all were quite good — the egg was a bit weird to me(whole boiled eggs in sauce). Accompanying was a double order of garlic naan. I spotted a huge Masala Dosa being carried to another table — this became my favorite Indian breakfast item — basically a thin crêpe stuffed with spiced potatoes served with a trio of chutneys — quite delicious and the version I spotted at BawarcHi looked great(though it was missing the traditional banana leaf«plate»). In general I thought the food was mostly very good — with the biryanis being the best dishes. Service was a bit spotty(expected in a new business). This will become a regular stop for my lunch group.

Think of this more as a 2.5 but I don’t feel like rounding down because this is a restaurant that is so needed in this area. FREAKINGFINALLY an Indian restaurant in Sandy Springs! This place has been open for just over a week now in the Abernathy Square shopping center, sort of in the middle of the strip mall near Publix. It’s a small place that must have been a Quizno’s before I ever really paid attention to this shopping center(which is like, only in the past three months). They have around a dozen tables for dining in. If you are dining in, you sit down at a table and have table service, which is very confusing because the counter feels so front and center. If you’re getting food to go, you can order at this counter. There is a sign that says there’s a 5% discount for cash. I was not given this discount. This appears to be a chain, but they list EVERY single option they offer foodwise on it, so you’re better off at least coming here on your first visit. Biryani is obviously the focal point, but they do offer a decent amount of veggie and non-vegetarian dishes. They also have dosas, uttapam, and lots of appetizers. I got kadai chicken, and you have the option of rice or naan. I opted for naan. I paid and was told it’d be ready in ten minutes. There is literally nowhere to be out of the way while waiting for takeout here. I went and stood outside for 8 of the 10 minutes then came back in. I still felt in the way. Especially because it took twice as long as I was told for my food. Then, why I’m writing this now instead of giving them another shot or two first, it was VERY odd and kind of tempts me not to go back, or I’m hoping maybe they might see this and take it as the constructive criticism I hope it’ll be. The guy packing up my order asks me if I ordered rice or naan. I say rice. The order receipt said naan. Instead of just taking my word for it that I wanted rice, he asks the guy who took my order if I ordered rice or naan, and he replies rice. What the hell? I work in a place where if I want to check what someone ordered, I ask that customer, and that is that. If they were to even change their order at that point, especially over something so trivial that’s clearly on hand, it is not worth how that could potentially make that customer feel awkward. It was incredibly weird and kind of rude. The kadai chicken was okay, the first time I had it from a different restaurant it was definitely spicier. I was also the only non-Indian person I saw the entire time so I guess they just decided to assume I’m a spice wuss and not ask, so keep that in mind if you have stronger than average taste buds. It also wasn’t really that big of a serving, so if you’re hoping to have leftovers, you might be better off with an app and a friend. I’ll give them another chance but I’m going to give them a couple weeks more first to hopefully work out their kinks, and I’ll probably eat there instead.
