CLOSED. It’s too bad as their Tuna Sandwich was really good. Now hunting for the next closest Blimpie’s to Toco Hills…

First, we ordered delivery through Grub Hub, a great upstart that takes orders through their service and sends it to the restaurant for actual preparation, payment and delivery. We placed our order and Grub Hub stated that we would get it within about an hour. At that time of supposed delivery we get a call from a Blimpie worker stating they received our order and are just then confirming it — an hour after Grub Hub stated in an email that the store had our order, and electronically confirmed it. Interesting?! So the girl who calls us is happy and cheerful and said they were super slow and happy for our business to my roommate on the phone. They confirm our whole order and deliver it ANOTHER hour after they confirmed it(basically in Grub Hub’s time frame, the order was an hour late). Our order was actually complete, but being our first time ordering from Blimpie through Grub Hub, we feel that there is a link missing in how they handle their time-orderly processing skills of an online delivery system. It’s 2014?! They are apart of the Grub Hub network. So there is something this location is missing to efficiently place & deliver your order on time. It is a shame. I’m ultimately a fan of Subway in person at the actual store location, but we chose to eat sandwiches via delivery tonight and were not ultimately pleased in the delivery time frame manner they blatantly offer on their street side lite-up sign on North Druid Hills roadside. Word to others — time is not of the essence here :/go pick it up or just order elsewhere. Food was still ok!

Is this really the oldest Blimpie in Georgia? It seemed somewhat deserted when we walked in, but a lady emerged from some dark recess behind the counter, and within a few minutes we had our sandwiches. I ordered an old-time favorite(which I only get at Blimpie): a Roast Beef & Provolone sub on wheat bread. Thinly sliced meats & cheese underneath some lettuce, tomato, & onion, with some oil & vinegar, black pepper, and some oregano. Simple. Delicious. And I ate the whole thing.

EXCELLENT, courteous service. Sandwiches are consistently delicious. My go-to spot when I just want a basic, quality sandwich. SO much better than Subway.

Personally, I prefer Blimpie to Subway. The ingredients are usually of higher quality and in turn, you pay a higher price. So when I saw that this Blimpie location was finally offering $ 5 foot long subs, I decided to stop in despite the suspicious flapping blue tarp hanging along one wall.(Apparently they are adding Asian cuisine to their mix?) Right when I walked in, I was greeted by an industrial fan blowing my skirt into the air(it was sitting on the floor). The restaurant was small, humid and somewhat dusty(maybe from the construction). There were two people in front of me and their orders were taken fairly quickly. However, when it was my turn, Mr. Mike repeatedly asked me for my order, but would not listen to my answer. He would get distracted by something with the drive thru. Basically, he’d ask for my order, I would start to speak, then he would turn away. This happened at least 4 times. After he finally rang me in and started on my sandwich, he left my bread sitting in front of the register to go tend to the drive thru(again). He was gone for so long that another employee had to come finish my order. Mr. Mike returned to ring me up, but still seem frazzled and disinterested. The sandwich I ordered happened to be the special of the day, but I only discovered this by looking at a small sign taped next to the register and had to ask for the discount. Although I enjoyed my sandwich, I would not return here. The sad part is that I like Blimpie’s food, but the service at this location left such a bad taste in my mouth that I will never go back.

I visited this Blimpie location after seeing the nationwide ads for $ 5 foot-long subs. After years of trying to offer a much more expensive product than virtually any other sandwich company in America, Blimpie is apparently on board the $ 5 foot-long bandwagon. Welcome aboard! First impression: This location does not appear to be very sanitary. There is a blue tarp hanging down on one wall on the inside of the place and it appears that nothing has been cleaned/upgraded in 15+ years. Not a great way to start things off. The place makes you feel a bit gross. My guest ordered the 6″ combo, which was advertised on an old, dirty photocopied piece of paper by the register as being $ 4.89 and including a small chip and a drink. When my guest asked for one particular bag of small chips, she was told by the manager that these chips were not part of the special because they were«premium» small chips. Only«regular» small chips were included in the special. She was told to grab a bag from the«regular» small chip section. Upon hearing this, I politely explained to the manager that this difference in chip availability was misleading and confusing to customers, especially first-time customers like ourselves. I was told by the manager that«everyone» who comes to this location knows the difference between«premium» and«regular» small chips and that these are«the rules». Unfortunately, I’m not a regular, nor will I ever be. Nor do I want to be preached to at lunch by a rude manager at a sandwich restaurant. This manager had a chance to save face, apologize for the misunderstanding and help to ensure our return. However, we were made to feel under-appreciated and that our business did not matter, so we will never return. P. S. — They need to also get rid of the Drive Thru window. We were the 3rd and 4th customers in line when we arrived and it took about 15 minutes for us to have our sandwiches made because they kept making Drive Thru customer orders ahead of ours. Sandwich places do not need Drive Thru windows.

To start off this is the oldest Blimpie location in Georgia!!! Now that right there is some information that is awesome is a part of history. Also Mr Mike who runs the place is such a nice person and will give you the ultimate in customer experience. There are a lot of regulars that try the sandwich… but I tried Blimpies for the first time a week ago and WOW was it good. I had the Teriyaki Chicken and it was the bomb. Very fresh ingredients and the tomatoes were FARSUPERIOR to a subway… I would also go there to because they also serve up some free wi-fi provided by Clear. And it is fast… I was getting up to 8MBPS sitting in there… For those of you who may not understand that speed… think of you cable internet connection at home in a blimpie connected over WIFI. Very fast. When you go ask about the specials about getting a free sub and tell them that Dave and Mark sent you. Mr Mike will treat you WELL!!!

They used to make the sandwiches towards the back of the kitchen area, as previously described, but have done a lot of updating in the last few months. Perhaps taking the constructive critisism posted here — because all of the aforementioned issuses have been taken care of. Sandwiches are now made right up at the front, at the counter, behind the glass sneeze-guard. And they are still made with freshly sliced deli meat and topped with freshly cut veggies. I love the drive-thru concept that they have. It’s not the most well-executed, but I adore the fact that it’s available for days when I can’t get out of the car for one reason or another. The other day, we went in for lunch — and I’d like to talk about their customer service. Luckily, we are very patient people, dead set on a Blimpie Sub, and were not in a hurry. The girl behind the counter was a bit overwhelmed: two people in line to order, in front of the three of us, and two cars in the drive thru. And she was alone because they ran out of tuna and the owner ran out to get more. It took a good deal of time, but she did keep apologizing for the wait and alternated between the line and the cars. But we told her not to worry — I mean, there was nothing she could do to change the situation and she was keeping a very level head. When we finally got our food, we were sitting and eating when the girl brought out each of us a complimentary hot chocolate chip cookie, fresh from the oven! Mmmmm!!! Just her way of saying thanks. Well… here is my way of saying thanks — for the good customer service, the great sandwich, and keeping calm under pressure. My thoughts on the afternoon were that she remained professional, despite being overwhelmed. She was appologetic for the wait, and greatful for our patience. She made our food exactly as ordered. And gave us cookies. I think that deserves some applause.

I loved this Blimpie location. I came here with 3 friends after moving my apartment all day. We all ordered on one ticket and the lady behind the cash register was really nice about it. She even suggested a way for us to save a little cash on our order since 2 of use were ordering the Veggie Max, which was delicious! We ate and talked for a bit while watching CNN. The owner came out and chatted with up for a bit also telling us about his life in Mumbai. He was a really nice guy. In the end, we made a friend. And he gave us cookies, on the house. Who doesn’t love that? I’ll definitely be going back for 2 reasons: 1.) The veggie max patty was a nice substitute to two pieces of bread piled high with just vegtables, and 2) the owner won me over with those delicious cookies!

Not a great experience with Blimpie today. The service here was pretty terrible. This location has a good concept with a drive thru(I’ve never seen a Blimpie with a Drive-Thru), but they don’t seem to understand how to manage the counter/dine-in area and the drive-thru traffic at the same time. For example, I was next in line to order, when the lady at the counter advised«if you’re planning on ordering, you’re going to have to wait». My initial thought was«What do you think I’m doing here at lunch time, if I’m not planning to order something. do I look like I’m just here to chill at Blimpies for fun? « Next, when they took the order, instead of putting together the sandwich in front of you(as they normally would do) they yell your choice of toppings to the back of the store, and someone throws together your sandwich. When it comes out, you should consider yourself lucky if they got it right. All in all the sandwich was still edible, but just not very good.
