CLOSED — Location had a truck pulling out all the furniture last week. The windows are papered over now and the doors are locked up tight.

Poorly run. The ice machine had no ice. The restaurant was Dirty with spilled drinks and good on the floor. The tables were all covered with peoples old plates. The Order we placed came to us wrong. We won’t be back

I like how I can pick what I want and see the ingredients going on my pizza. I also like the relaxed atmosphere. It’s a great place for families with kids of any age.

Uncle maddio’s! Wow what a great place. My two friends and I were on the way back from Atlantic station and were starving and randomly picked this place. I placed it a million times but never stopped by. I can say our experience was great. One of my friends had a panini and the other a meat lover pizza. Myself I had the veggy personal pan and it was amazing. The sauce was perfect and the correct pick of veggies. I even saved 2 slices for dinner. The food came out pretty quick and the staff was very welcoming. The only thing I can say that needs a little fixing is one the sweet tea. It was not sweet at all and we live in the south lol. Easy fix. And two when my friend asked for mushrooms and onions they charged him 2 extra dollars without telling him. Not the price was an issue, it would just be nice to be told. Also, easy fix. Other than that, It won our hearts over so much the we looked for diff locations so we could visit one closer to us. Thank you for great pizza.

Ok, Uncle Maddio’s is the real deal. It’s taken me forever and a day to try it out, I pass it at least weekly on my way to and from Publix, but I just never stopped to try a slice. One lazy Sunday, my boyfriend and I were again on our way to the grocery store, but we needed lunch first and something near Publix seemed like the best option. I wasn’t in the mood for Mexican, the Italian restaurant had closed, so Uncle Maddio’s won by default. As soon as we walked in, I was impressed by the large lineup of toppings and pizza, sandwich and salad options available, as well as the gluten-free and vegan options too. This was more than I was expecting. My boyfriend and I decided to split the Spicy Italian pizza and we watched it being made before our eyes: spicy Italian sausage, red onions, mushrooms, banana peppers and basil. When it came out, I was really excited, it looked good. We had no trouble polishing it off between the two of us and I was very happy with the taste. The crust was a little thicker than I prefer, but with all the options Maddio’s has to make your own pizza, the freshness /sourcing of the ingredients, etc. I would definitely come back in the future. The only thing that would be better was if they delivered.

This place is really hit or miss. I’ve been here and have had great pizza and other times it’s just alright. Today was a miss where the pizza just was not on point. They have a points program which is nice but be sure they apply the points as I’ve learned sometimes they mess up.

Actually a 3.5 Been wanting to try this joint since close to 5 years now. Living down the street from this place really dint help from going to this place. During summers you can see a bunch of college folks sitting around in the patio in huddles ans laughing and joking away, always a sight to watch and enjoy. The food and quality is pretty good. Like the fact that they would be able to do a half and half on the pizza from their specialty ones. Ingredients seem fresh and not like the chain ones where its frozen and centuries old. Dough was fresh but the only problem with the pizza here was that the crush got really thin in the center and its almost impossible to eat without tearing it or breaking the crust. Its not crispy or wouldnt hold. Had to roll it up burrito style to make it all the way upto my watery mouth. Variety is good on the menu and would have been perfect if the dough would have been able to retain its integrity!

This place is headed downhill. The pizza is still good, but the place is getting rundown, service was spotty(nice pizza makers, but a rude cashier), they were out of beer and milk completely(just soft drinks), and when I sat down in the booth I realized the bench part was broken. As a topper they were out of silverware and when I asked I was told rather unenthusiastically they would get to it. With all that said the pizza itself was good, so I’ll offer up two stars. And as I sit here typing this I note I see that the wallpaper in our booth is peeling off. Here’s to hoping that the other Maddio’s locations are doing better… checking out Northlake next time around.

Meh. Went here one day after work just to pick up a pizza for take out. The pizza was«OK». They offer a gluten free crust but when I asked for it they said they didn’t have any more. If I remember correctly they have plenty of vegetarian and vegan options too, if that’s your thing… and if they don’t run out I guess. Had a beer while I waited. But like I said, it was take out. However, it was very busy and looked like it might be a fun place if I had stayed to eat. I think it must have been trivia night or something.

Terrific gluten free pizza and dessert. The manager comments about how many people with celiac disease come here for the gluten free.

Never again. The food was average at best and the service was poor. Dominique the line cook act liked we were inconveniencing him even though we waiting for a good 5 mins while he finished doing whatever it was he was doing. After we pointed out that he was putting the wrong toppings on our food he just walked off and grab someone else to finish our order. I’ve never experience service so poor before. The cashier tried making up for it but it really rubbed me the wrong way and I won’t be back. There are too many other pizza places in Atlanta where customers are treated with respect. My friend was really offended at the way he acted. He placed pork on his food which he cannot have because he is Muslim. No apologizes just attitude. Just poor service.

So many options! White, wheat, AND gluten free crusts, Daiya cheese(if you’re into it, but I just get extra yummy tomato sauce). Your pie is constructed front-line style,(think Moe’s, Subway) choose from a plethora of fresh toppings. I read that all their food is locally sourced. It takes a small town minute to go through the conveyor belt oven, but the the final product is piping hot and delicious!

I have tried a good number of pizzas here and find them to be mostly fair to middling but sometimes quite good. UMPJ combines the front-end production line process like you have at a sub shop(i.e. Subway or Blimpie’s) or burrito joint(i.e. Willy’s or Moe’s). In this establishment, when the production line ends, you pay for your food and wait at a table while your pizza bakes in the oven. Not a problem unless you go here with someone who orders a salad. In that case, the person eating their salad will likely finish their food by the time you get your pizza(unless one wishes to stare at the salad and wait a long time). Aside from that issue, the pizza here is is good but certainly not great. The pizza is thin crust and you can pick and choose from a fairly large variety of meat, sauce, cheese and veggie toppings. Vegetarians will likely find something suitable their in that there are so many veggie toppings to choose from. I am skeptical about the dough that they use to make the crust(especially with respect to the whole wheat crust option) — not traditional but not altogether bad either. Perhaps really deserves 3.5 stars; however, I will dispense with three.

This is my favorite place to get GLUTENFREE pizza! I am always looking for the best gluten free pizza. So far I like this better than Blue Moon or anywhere else I have tasted it. The crust is not too sweet and stays together specially if you make sure they cook it completely. The ingredients are all good, but G Free pizza is all about the dough, and this place rocks. The atmosphere is better at the Perimeter location– it is a little newer and not quite a cafeteria type atmosphere. The G free is a personal size pizza, so it is perfect when you are going with other people who are not G Free. #brookhaven #glutenfree #gfree

Decent pizza. I would eat here again. The staff were courteous. I had a side Caesar salad to go with it. My wife had a cup of chili with a salad. The chili was good but it was a little salty. The bathrooms could be a little cleaner.

i had been to another Uncle Maddio’s before and was a fan. I decided to take my son this time and decided on this location since it is closer to home. I was pleased to see that kids eat free on Tuesday nights :). The attraction to Uncle Maddio’s is that you can build your own pizza or salad with variety of topping options. You can choose the crust and sauce types as well all before it is baked for you. There are also sandwich options as well. The freshly baked cookies are delicious too. The food is brought to the table. There is also a loyal customer program where you can accumulate points for other promotions. This location and the special night(kids eat free) that we were there included fun board games on almost every table. My son and I loved that! Plenty of seating tasty food comes out quickly family friendly

I’m a huge fan of Uncle Maddio’s wheat crust. Love the idea of building your own pizza and having the option to add as many or as little toppings that you want for a decent price. My guy and I usually end up ordering the medium or large, 3 topping pizza with the wheat crust. If you love thing crust, then Uncle Maddio’s serves the thinnest crust I’ve had in ATL. The ingredients are fresh, the staff is friendly and efficient and of course, most importantly, the food tastes consistent. I like the fact that they have a great outdoor patio and local events such as trivia nights to gain a neighborhood crowd. The other bonus is their choose your own soda machine that’s all done through a touch screen and one dispenser. The plastic fountain cups are a nice touch as well.

so, I have to admit that I am directionally impaired. I was actually looking for Chris’s Pizza since I wanted to use my Scoutmob for lunch, but then I saw Uncle Maddio’s and I remembered how good the pizza sample was at the last Unilocal!Event at the Congress Center. With that, i found a parking spot and walked in. This is a place where you can customize your pizza. The setup is like Moe’s, except they are tossing pizza and not burritos! ;) I settled on the the big max on a wheat dough with bellpeppers, mushrooms and onions. The veggies are an additional charge each. It was a bit confusing, because usually you place your order and then go to the cashier to pay. But the guy making my pizza took extra long in making it and I ended up just pacing back and forth in the lobby, pretending to be interested in the windows. I wish that he would have asked one of the more dozen co-workers there to put my order into the computer while I was waiting, that would have made things go a bit faster. They handed me a number after I paid and the pizza came out pretty fast. I didn’t time them, but it was under 10 min. I don’t know if this is their custom, but when the food runner came to my table with the pizza, I said thanks and he said no problem, the pizza was made with love. Uh, ok I guess. The pizza was pretty good. the crust was nice, crunchy and provided a stable foundation for the huge amount of meat and veggies on top. I wish that the veggies would have been cooked a bit more and the cheese a bit more melted. But I’m nitpicking there. the service was great and the food decent. So glad that I found this place!

A group of about 10 of us checked out Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint on a Thursday night for trivia. I’m not a fan of beer, but my friends were excited about their $ 1 drafts. I was just hoping that they’d have decent pizza. Trivia starts at 8 pm, but my friends and I got there early — around 6:30 pm — and saved a table for our group. I’m really glad we did! Soon after we arrived, the place was packed! Two of my friends and I shared an «Extra Large»(16″) Traditional dough, Tomato-Basil sauce pizza with spicy sausage, pepperoni, and green peppers. There are eight slices in an extra large pizza, and it’s enough to serve about 3 people, so it was perfect for us. Also, at less than $ 18, I thought it was reasonably priced. The pizza was ready and served pretty quickly, and I thought it was a fairly good pizza. The crust is pretty thin, but not thin enough to be a «thin crust.» The main part of the pizza was good, but the crust was a little too hard for my liking. Three slices(minus the crust, which I did not eat) really filled me up! My friends and I thought that trivia was pretty tough! This was only my 3rd time EVER going to trivia night at a restaurant. Our team ended up placing pretty low, and we are all very suspicious of those who had the highest scores. We could almost swear that they were cheating! Oh well, at least my friends and I were entertained and enjoyed each others’ company more than anything else. Overall, I feel that Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint deserves about 3.5 stars for their quick service and decent pizza at a good price. They also offer free Wi-Fi(password: pizzajoint), which I always appreciate. I’ll probably be back again for another trivia night if my friends and I are ever in the mood to try again. TIP: My friend and I checked into Foursquare(after we had already paid for our pizza) and noticed that they had an offer for the 1st time checking in there. You can get a FREE individual size(9″) cheese pizza with no purchase necessary! So I took mine to-go for the lunch the next day. Sweet!!! =) [Review 016 of 366]
