Yes!!! The pizza is awesome!!! Drinks are very strong so that’s a major plus! Crab cakes were awesome too! Will be coming back a lot.

The reason for 3 stars — the music, horrible. Apparently the chef chooses what gets to be played. It’s really bad. The owners should set a standard for what is being played. It’s a great place for food — but the music. It’s soooo bad.

I love Shorty’s. Everything is really good. The pizza is thin crust which I prefer. The Guac is homemade and really good. But my favorite is the chef salad, it has shaved turkey which is outstanding.

Fantastic place to go, the best pizza joint around! Have to drive past a lesser pizza place(which is walking distance from where I live) to go to Shorty’s but absolutely worth it. Service is always excellent! Recommend trying to crest ones own pizza and pick a myriad of toppings; makes for a fun experience(and one fantastic pizza). Make sure to save room for a cookie or two!

Warning: cliches ahead. Shorty’s is a hole-in-the-wall that flies under the radar and is a hidden gem. It’s true. I’ve passed this shopping center a million trillion times and never noticed this unassuming pizza place and only found about about it thanks to Unilocal. You go inside and you’re invited to sit anywhere you’d like. The servers are friendly and pay attention to you. Shorty’s has a ton of pizza options with fun musical artist names. It’s tough to decide on a pie, but just tell yourself you can always come back. The Johnny Winter and the Sly and the Family Stone(blue cheese on pizza is phenomenally delish) are mad good. The large pizzas are thin and floppy, but there’s an option to get a thicker crust for $ 2. Might have to try that next time. The crib salad received high marks from us. Even the small portion can be shared by two people. The greens and cucumbers were fresh, the kalamata olives great, and the house dressing was tasty. The chocolate chip cookies were huge and a little cakey for my tastes but still yummy. Go on Tuesdays to save $ 5 off large pizzas. Bonus: there’s currently a Scoutmob deal so check that out.

Love the staff here :) Sometimes there’s a bit of a turnover but hoping the current crowd sticks around. Beer selection rocks. Wine ain’t bad at all… And they try to switch things up every week with some varied specials. The chicken & dumpling soup will be my go-to this winter!

Wow. Fresh ingredients. Perectly charred crust. Great service. A real slice of New York imho. They cook the pies in a brick oven. I think this is right up there with Varasanos and Antico. Tush Review —– 4 cheeks(padded comfortable chairs)

SOGOOD!!! This little hole in the wall was something we found by accident and did not disappoint us at all! We ordered sandwiches, the chicken pesto and the smoked turkey, and they were not only beautifully presented but absolutely delicious! The coleslaw that came with the sandwiches was some of the best I’ve had! This is my new favorite spot whenever I pass through here now… EVERYONESHOULDTRYTHISPLACE!

Another great meal at Shorty’s. Their pizzas have the best names and the coolest ingredients. We got a couple of small pizzas to split so we could try more than one of them and we were glad with our decision. I love that this is a neighborhood joint and even though the waitress was only on her third night she was friendly and asked for help when she needed it.

My boyfriend and I love this place! We come here often. We love to build your own pizza with weird toppings. Do try the curry oil, it’s off menu Tips: Monday is half off your bill if you bring your previous receipt. Tuesday is $ 5 off your pizza Try anything! Everything is yummy!

Ordered a large sid viscous. Tuesdays are 5 dollars off all large pizzas. Pizza dough was great, and the toppings weren’t bad either. Very new York atmosphere. The real reason why this gets 4 stars though, is because of the discount.

New owners. Gone way down in ambiance. Lots of old wait staff gone. Management seems a bit hyper. Same food just lost the old friendly. Hoping it gets better.

Our favorite«go to» place!!! The beet salad is awesome, and we always get their«gourmet burger» — no matter what it is! I think we’ve tried most of their sandwiches, and the falafel is fantastic– just the right amount of spicy! The staff is super friendly and everything is very laid back!

Shorty fell short. Sigh. Bad pun. But I am just disappointed. Dinner on Sat(Valentine’s Day — not really a day you’d expect such busy-ness but it was), around 7p which I’d consider main-time anyplace. We got a table quickly but it was one of the only ones; the bar was packed too. Problems– Overly. Salty. Pizza. And on a fave I’ve enjoyed before, the Biggie Smalls. I think it was the capicolla(or whichever type of ham/prosciutto they use on this one) was salty enough that I could barely eat it(and I have a super strong liking for salt) and my Dad actually pointed this out(I stayed mum because my parents get tetchy when I fuss) raised the question — the man almost neeeevah complains about anything. The Johnny Winter(? I forget the name) but the one with bacon, arugula and cheese on a tomato base(v their white). Eh. It was ok. The bacon was salty but not as much so as the capicolla. I wouldn’t get it again. Dad said the crib salad was fine. We ate our dinner, and no complaints to our server — Daniel or Gabriel, I think? — who said he was new; he was attentive enough but forgot things like share plates and drink refills til asked twice. No biggie as I am sure I’ve done the same when just starting and maybe a little nervous, at a new restaurant. Final comment — It. Is. Loud. Really loud. Especially loud if you sit near to the kitchen entrance as we did(a direct view into the dry good storage and adjacent side of the kitchen with the dish pit) so we got to hear a lot of slamming and such. I think this could be rectified by some reorg, or some swinging doors, or just something that could dampen the sound for the diners. Ovrerall still ok enough but not good enough that I’d make a point to go.

Got a coupon in the mail from Shorty’s, and seeing good reviews here, I went for it. Placed my order and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. Arrived 25 minutes later, paid for my order, and then sat, ignored, for another 20 minutes before the bartender/hostess finally looked at me and realized I was still there. She disappeared in the back and returned with a warm box, saying«this just came out of the oven for you». Hardly — the pizza was warm, but not hot. I’d guess it had been sitting there for at least 10 minutes. I took it home(a 10 minute drive) and opened the box to find a crazily misinterpreted schizophrenic pizza. You see, I had ordered«spinach, red peppers, and turkey, and mushrooms on half» thinking I would get 3 ingredients on the entire pizza and 4 on half. Instead I got the first 3 ingredients on one half of the pizza and ONLYMUSHROOMS on the other half! Now I’ve been ordering pizza in America for over 45 years and I’ve never had my order misunderstood in this way before. Despite all of this, the pizza actually tasted very good, and by scraping some of the spinach and turkey onto the other side,(and popping it in the toaster oven for 5 minutes) I managed to get a decent pizza meal. But Shorty’s has a lot of work to do to improve customer service and promptness before they earn any more stars from me.

This pizza is really good. It is the closest I’ve gotten to New York style pizza in Atlanta. And just to be clear, no it’s not as good as New York pizza. I don’t think any Atlanta pizzeria has«the real New York pizza taste». From what I understand and also because I’ve lived in New York myself, it’s something to do with the water. The water in New York just adds a special flavor to the food.

I’ve been twice and was pleased both times. The first time I got a chicken sandwich with a side salad. I was amazed by how fresh and good the salad was. The chicken sandwich has spinach and a pesto sauce. It was amazing. I really enjoyed it. The next time i went i decided i should try the pizza. They have a nice selections of weird combo topped pizzas with cool names. I wanted to know what the pizza was really like, so i ordered a peperoni. I remember it being good, the peps were good quality and cooked crispy, that’s how i like it. Next time I’ll get a dinner salad

I went there the other night with my mom as it is close to her house and it seemed to be a better alternative to Outback across the street. I had been here before a few years ago with one of the foodie meet up groups. For that particular dinner out I remember being one of 16 people who split several different specialty pizzas. The pizza here is hard to describe but it is definitely thin crust and definitely cooked in a brick oven. But the pizza here is definitely not the traditional brick oven Italian /Napoli /Neopolitan pizza that has been rising in popularity since the advent of Antico Pizza and other copy cats. The pizza here is certainly good but not anything exceptional or particularly great. I am included to agree with the other Robert M. [aka Mr. Pizza expert]; however, I would not assess them as harshly with respect to the pizza at Shorty’s. I noticed Shorty’s dropped the«pizza» as part of their name. I wonder why they did that. I had heard the salmon here is fantastic so I made sure to order that specifically on this particular visit. The salmon comes with asparagus and roasted tomatoes. Other sides are not an option. You do not get tartar sauce. When i asked for sauce, all I got was some kind of marinade. In spite of the limitations the salmon dish, it is very, very good. The salmon is cooked perfectly with just the right amount of flavoring. The salmon tasted as if it had been cooked on a big green egg or some other kind of high priced smoker /cooker device. It likely was cooked in the brick oven that they cook the pizza in. The salmon here blows other restaurants salmon entrees(no pun intended) out of the water. The price tag for the salmon dish was about $ 15. My mom ordered some kind of specialty pizza; her pizza had pepperoni and mushrooms with a red sauce. There was a sparse application of cheese; not sure if it was a specialty pizza option that came that way or if she asked for sparse cheese application. She could not finish her pizza so I tried a couple of slices. It was very good. Not the most authentic Napoli /Neopolitan style pizza but certainly not bad. i would come back to Shorty’s but perhaps would not be in a rush to do so. Perhaps Shorty’s really deserves 3.5 stars but I will round up to 4.

A few weekends ago my boyfriend and I were struggling for what to do about lunch. We’re typically lazy on Saturdays and often skip breakfast entirely only to come up starving for lunch. This was the situation. I started hunting around in my head for new places we hadn’t tried before and finally thought of Shorty’s, this little, out-of-the-way restaurant on N. Druid Hills Rd next to LA Fitness(and my dentist’s office), that I’ve driven past half a million times without a second thought. Good thought. We got there past the lunch hour rush and we were seated near the bar which runs along the left side of the narrow restaurant in the front with more seating towards the back and a small outside patio. Although you wouldn’t know it to look at Shorty’s, they actually have a very diverse, eclectic selection of pizzas, sandwiches, calzones and salads. Pizza is definitely the main claim to fame and most pizzas are named after celebrities or semi-celebrities. Our waiter for the afternoon was this really nice Aussie server(never mention Kiwis and New Zealand in his presence), who did a great job taking care of us as well as chatting about his family coming to town to visit, etc. We ended up ordering a Greek salad to split before the meal and then the Weird Al Yankovich pizza that came with red sauce and pesto, black forest ham, pineapple and feta cheese. Yum! The crust is thin and crispy and the pizza tasted really good. We’ve been looking for a new pizza place around North Druid Hills and even though Shorty’s doesn’t do delivery, I’d certainly consider calling them for an order to go in the future.
