The price at this BP is always the same as the Chevron a few doors down, and there tend to be less creepers hanging around. Maybe because it’s better lit, maybe because it’s just that much further off Euclid, maybe because they actually do something about it. I don’t know why, but it means that I’m here more often, especially if I have to fuel up at night. Plus, dude inside is always friendly when I run in, desperate for a fountain Diet Coke the size of my head. That’s all I need out of a gas station, so I’m happy.

Major inconvenience and ripoff! I’m late for work, low on fuel and need to buy diesel. I don’t normally stop here because they are about 30 cents higher than most places, but they are on my route and near home so I decided to pay the extra. The station is busy and there is a cop off to the side chatting with some guy over by the payphone. I swipe the credit card and follow all the instructions on the pump only to receive the message«please see attendant». As I am grumbling to myself I notice a small note taped to the pump — «Please pay inside». What? No pay at the pump? And if it is deactivated, why did it let me go thru the process? Decide I only need a little gas and head inside with 10 dollars. Returning to my car, I notice the cop is now patting down the guy by the payphone. After waiting a bit for the attendant to complete the activation, I start filling up. The pump clicks off and I remove the nozzle and and prepare to leave. Out of the corner of my eye I notice the sales amount. It stopped at 9.34. I assumed I had some how stopped early and reinserted the nozzle and tried to restart. Nope, the pump was done and 66 cents short. At this point I was very late and didn’t have the energy to do the right thing and go back to the attendant and ask for the balance. Plus, the cop was leaving with a new arrestee and the show was over.
