This review is for the carwash guys that sit in the parking lot– for $ 10 cash they do a great job– all by hand, drying included. My car was pretty funky and neglected from sitting under a tree for a few months. Two guys made quick work of the scrubbing while I sat in the car, guiltily enjoying the air conditioning!

So this is the right-​next-​door gas station by The Boy’s new place. A quick and dirty run-​down…
Pros: um, it’s within a few hundred yards of the apt!. .. they actually have wine (and sangria, go figure) and a good candy selection. .. they’re open, well, all the time!. .. good frozen pizza selection (one of our friends, who lives on the same floor, is an absolute genius at taking a frozen pizza with something like just pepperoni and «cheffing» into something fancy — this is super-​cool late night!). .. nice people work there who do things like not sweat the change and tell you «just get us next time.»
Cons: Expensive for basics — if you’re out of Diet Coke like we were this past week, this is NOT the place you wanna buy a 2-​Liter!. .. no «public» bathroom — grr. .. gas prices are middle-​of-​the-​road to high.
Hey, walkability is the key factor here, and at least the «neighborhood» convenience store is one with all the other stuff, not just a gas-​only kinda place. It’s not the cool BP down the street a few blocks, but it’s great in a pinch. Fair enough!
