For those familiar with the Smyrna/Vinings area, this restaurant used to be Uncle Wong’s closer to 285 off Paces Ferry. It moved to the strip mall a couple years ago and was renamed Chopsticks. Consistently good chinese take-out and my go-to on a night I want to just stay in and indulge in chicken chow mein, classic chinese dishes like cashew chicken, won ton soup and/or dumplings. All are very good.

If I could give this zero stars, I would. I am sad to report that this was by far the worst«Chinese» food I have ever had. Fake Chinese food is great on occasion, and I have not had very many bad experiences with it. My girlfriend and I felt like having some last night, and we went on grubhub to find something around us that we hadn’t tried before that delivered. We found Chopsticks, and then I researched them on Unilocal, they have great reviews! For the sake of everyone else, I hope our experience was a fluke. First of all, we placed our order at 6:00pm and the food wasn’t delivered until about 7:45pm. We called at 7:30 and they gave us $ 10 off for the delay, so that was nice. The Meal: For an appetizer we got chicken egg rolls. First bite revealed that they were still a little frozen inside. After a minute in the microwave, they were now warm, but without any flavor. Also they were a bit too stringy for my tastes. Neither of us finished it. We also got«beef on a stick.» The first 3 of our 4 pieces were pretty good, a little bit too much spice and not enough teriyaki flavor, but good nonetheless. But then I took a big bite of the last one, to only find out it was completely raw on the inside. Not just rare. raw. It was absolutely disgusting. We got an order of tangerine chicken to split. It smelled ok and the chicken was absolutely drenched in the orange sauce — just how we like it! But the flavor of the sauce was disappointing. It was make-your-nose-run spicy and the conventional orange-y flavor was almost non existent. This was definitely a let down, but I was still optimistic that I would get to enjoy the food at least a little. But we quickly realized that the quality of the chicken itself was terrible. It was overly chewy and wet with fat and grease. In many cases a piece did not even contain chicken, it was just the gross, soggy, tasteless breading with nothing left inside. We each ate maybe 5 pieces or so before we threw the rest out. The highlight of the meal was the rice. Excellent white rice, they really know how to use a steamer! Needless to say, I then made a trip to Publix for some real food. This was a disgusting meal that I wish I hadn’t spent any money on. For the rest of you, I hope it was just a fluke, but I will certainly not be ordering from Chopsticks again.

I always rely on Unilocal when I’m going out to eat or ordering in. I read that Chopsticks tastes fresher and better than typical Chinese, and I have to agree. The veggie soup was wonderful and loaded with fresh veggies. The spring rolls were nice and crunchy and the sauce was great. The house salad was really just lettuce and carrots with a ginger dressing, but I still liked it a lot. The ginger dressing tasted like it had a hint of orange which was delish. The only disappointment was with my main course– the honey chicken. I’m not usually one to order honey chicken but I was in the mood for it tonight. It was really too sweet for my taste. I had about 3 bites before I put it in the fridge for my boyfriend to eat when I see him tomorrow. Luckily, I ordered enough food for 2 meals and so I’m not going hungry. I guess the wait time was a let down too. They say 35 – 60 minutes for delivery I think and I was definitely waiting a good hour. So don’t wait until you are famished to order! I’ll definitely order from chopsticks again.

Good food and cool ambiance. Admittedly, I’ve only been here once for a co-workers birthday, but the service was fast and friendly. Everyone at the table liked their meal, so what more can you say?

I come here about once a week and it’s always great! The sushi is very fresh– I love the white tuna, red tuna, eel, etc! Moreover, there is tons to choose from… The service is great, the people are friendly, and there’s never a wait! What more could you ask for? I highly recommend it!

The food here is really good. I’ve had take out here before but this was the first time dining in. I would give them 4 stars on the food alone, however, we arrived for lunch around 11:30 and we didn’t get out until 1:30! Granted, it was a fairly large group, but there are no excuses. The service is the slowest I’ve ever seen. There was no hostess to sit people. I believe two groups left because they were never seated. Two groups actually got up and left because of the wait once they sat down. One couple said they had been there 30 minutes without getting their food. The phone rang and rang and rang and no one was there to pick up for takeout service. I feel bad because it seemed like there was only two chefs and one waiter. One person doing everything just doesn’t work. Perhaps it was an off day or maybe someone called out sick, I don’t know. I’d suggest take out/delivery if you can get someone to pick up the phone. The spring rolls are good, the soup is good and everyone for the most part really enjoyed their meals. The ingredients Chopsticks’ uses are a much better quality than most standard Chinese restaurants. (LOL @ Unilocal asking me if they have waiter service… technically yes, but not really — I had to get my own box for my leftovers)

In my opinion this is probably the best Chinese in Vinings and its definitely the best service I’ve ever had at a Chinese restaurant. I usually only order for pick up or delivery but everyone from Chopsticks that I’ve dealt with has been extremely nice and courteous. I’ve had multiple of their chicken dishes and beef dishes and they’ve all been delicious. I especially like their«Chicken on the Sticks»(I know the name is entertaining) but the sauce they use is like a mix between bourbon and teriyaki and the chicken just falls off the stick when lightly tugged. Their pan fried pot stickers are also really good. It’s hard to find places in Atlanta that don’t only serve deep fried and steamed dumplings. For the beef dishes I would have to recommend the Mongolian beef. I don’t really understand how someone could give them a 1 star rating, though, since I’ve had many dishes from Chopsticks and never been disappointed. I might be a little biased since I just moved from Midtown where the best option for a Georgia Tech student was Lucky Buddha but this place is a regular on my take out list. I would also definitely take it over Oriental Express which disappointed me multiple times with food that wasn’t very fresh. I also agree with another reviewer that I can usually tell when a Chinese restaurant uses MSG even when they say they don’t but I definitely did not feel that after I ate here.

This is my go-to«I just got home and don’t wanna cook» takeout. Have never had anything bad here. Love the curry dishes — authentic and not hatefully spicy like some can be. Sweeter dishes are too sweet for my taste, but I’m not typically a sweet Chinese person anyway. Crab rangoon is always perfect, and spring rolls and soup are great too. Can’t really go wrong here.

This is the first time I ordered food from Chopsticks. We usually have a different go-to takeout restaurant, but I was in the mood for something different, so we tried this place. I actually did not order Chinese food, but I had some Thai food… and while it is not the best food I’ve ever had, it’s definitely the best take-out Thai food I’ve had. I had the Massaman Curry with Chicken and it was quite tasty. I was missing the avocado I usually get, but it was still tasty. I also ordered the coconut soup and I have to say that this has to be one of the best coconut soups I’ve ever had! I would definitely order this again! I will definitely order food from there again!

I have two beefs with Chopsticks: Their food and their service. I have gone to Chopsticks since it was called Uncle Wongs and located in the heart of Vinings. At first I loved their Mango Chicken dish but repeated visits proved the food was actually a little boring. I would have stopped eating here at this point, but I received a great deal on Gift Cards through so I continued to order here. Using the coupons made the bland food worth it — $ 25 off a bill of $ 35 or more as long as it included two entrees and an 18% tip was added. It ended up being about half off, a great reason to justify pigging out — even if the food wasn’t much to write home about. Fast forward 3 months and I have one of these coupons left. Perfect timing because I was moving and had all of my cookware packed up. I called to confirm my coupon had not been used and the host that answered the phone told me he would check it out. Calls back 5 min later and tells me it’s invalid. This seemed fishy to me so I called the validation hot line on the gift card and verified it was still valid: so he lied to me, Strike One. So I pick up my 3 year old from school and head on down to the restaurant. I figure, who cares if the food is boring — it’s cheap and I don’t feel like cooking. We get to the restaurant and I see that they have moved — not their fault, but Strike 2 because it’s cold and my little girl is hungry. I call to get their new address which was just down the street and we headed over. Upon entering the restaurant I present my gift card and the waiter starts reading it very, very carefully. Too carefully in my opinion. What’s he looking for? There’s no expiration date, I already checked. So he tells me he must verify it with the manager, which I think is strange. A gift card is a gift card, is a gift card. After they huddle for a few minutes he comes over and tells me they won’t be able to accept it. Strike 3! WTF? His demeanor showed he was embarrassed about it and I knew he was only the messenger so I didn’t give him a hard time. He did go into detail, saying the previous business partner signed their restaurant up for these coupons and now that he was gone they wouldn’t accept them anymore. Seriously!!! I own a small business and if any of my customers came to me in that situation I would never imagine turning them away. Was saving the $ 25 worth losing a customer? I guess so because they had no problem with me walking out the door. Maybe they though I was a cheap customer? They were wrong because I took my gift card-less self down the street to Thai Diner and paid full fare for a wonderful meal of Green Curry and Sweet and Sour Tofu. Much better food and fantastic service!

I normally don’t like takeout Chinese. In fact, I’m not a huge fan of non-Cantonese style Chinese food. I must admit, Chopsticks is pretty good. I have never been to Chopsticks, I would just always do take out. And it’s probably one of the better Chinese takeout I’ve ever tasted. The food just tastes fresh and healthy. It’s a bit on the bland side, but that’s okay. That’s a lot better than having the food on a greasy, salty, I’m-gonna-get-a-heart-attack side. Now, I’m not sure if the food itself is healthy, but it just tastes more healthy than your normal Chinese food. They do have their greasy menu items, but even the greasy dishes taste healthier than the similar dishes at other Chinese places. My only complaint about this place is that it is on the pricey side. Spending over $ 35 on Chinese takeout just seems wrong to me. But I think it’s worth it because of the taste.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I’m here to tell you that all Chinese takeout is not created equal. Chopsticks Asian Bistro is proof. I had never heard of this place before last week. But one of their guys stopped by my workplace to drop off their menu. Normally, we stick most of the menus and crap that restaurants bring into File 13, but Chopsticks included a gift certificate for $ 5(no strings attached)…so I was intrigued. Their menu offers most of the regular deep fried, sticky sweet & sour, overly salty things you’d expect from a typical Chinese takeout joint, but their menu stressed that they never use MSG. Now, I’ve been to other places that claim not to use the stuff… and then wondered why I was feeling all MSG-y after eating there. So, I’m a bit of a skeptic when places swear up and down that they don’t use it, and you can still clearly taste(and feel) it when they do! Arg! Anyway, another one of their menus showed up on my doorstep at home the day after that… so I figured it was a sign or something. I had to try it. That night, we ordered the family dinner for two complete with: mongolian beef, sweet and sour chicken, spring rolls, «chicken on the sticks», fried rice, and a choice of soup, plus a fortune cookie. For $ 24(plus tax and tip for delivery) it was a LOT of food(And did I mention I’m married to a human bottomless pit?)! We had plenty left over for lunch the next day. The mongolian beef was really good. Greasy, but not too much. The sweet and sour chicken was good too. Breaded all white meat, green pepper, carrots, pineapple, and sauce on the side. For spring rolls, we were impressed! You could tell that there were real fresh vegetables inside, yet all of the crisp, deep fried loveliness surrounding it! «Chicken on the sticks»? I think the name is funny, but the taste was impressive. Juicy and moist with star anise seasoning! Nice! With the family meals, you have a choice of soup: egg drop, won ton, hot and sour or vegetable. We opted for vegetable fearing the worst(you know, dinky square micro-carrots, a few peas and maybe a thing of baby corn) and hoping for the best. We got better than the best! There were TONS of fresh veggies! Nice large chunks in a simple broth! I love veggies, and they came through for me! Best of all, I waited for that MSG feeling and it never came! Their no MSG claim is legit. I’m sure we’ll order from here again!
