A friend and I arrived at Cloud IX and were immediately caught off guard by how dark the place was but the music was nice. It was cute and the décor was neatly put together. We had wanted to check out this place and decided to drop by. We read a few reviews on Unilocal and decided to check it out. I guess the place was dimly lit to set the mood and I could see it working out later in the evening as the place got crowded. We were promptly greeted and given menus. We decided to sit at the bar since there weren’t too many people there and we wanted direct access to drinks ;). The bartender brought us two waters(before we even asked so that was nice). We ordered two drinks called Ecstasy and were pleasantly surprised at how strong they were. I ordered the blackened catfish and my friend ordered the fried catfish. We each got two sides mac n cheese(2), fries, and plantains. The food came out pretty quickly. Presentation was decent. But my food was not really hot. It was somewhere between warmed enough to put out and lukewarm…0_o. The fish was seasoned well(a bit on the salty side) but it was good. The plantains were excellent but the mac n cheese was also on the cold side and needed a good shake of salt and pepper. My friend enjoyed her fried catfish and her fries were yummy. The only issue with her dish was that there was no tartar sauce or any other sauce besides ketchup and hot sauce that was available. When she asked for other sauces the bartender told us apologetically that there were some salad dressings she could bring out but no tarter sauce of any kind. How are you gonna have fish on 85% of your menu and have no kind of alternative sauces… no tartar sauce??? Okay. Once the food arrived the music promptly cut out and to our surprise the waitstaff had turned to Fox to watch Empire… ummmm okay. I mean we weren’t complaining but I wasn’t expecting that. I am not a huge fan(it was actually my first time watching the show hahaha) but it was fine. It felt like I was at someone’s house watching the show and eating dinner. As the evening progressed a few more folks strolled into the restaurant. A guy came in and sat near me and he was waiting for some time because all the wait staff were on their phones or watching Empire… lol. He finally got the attention of one of the bartenders and she was able to help him out. I am not sure if this is how every Wednesday night goes at Cloud IX but it was interesting. The checks finally came after we were able to get the attention of our waitress(again folks were on their phones which I think is very unprofessional. At least wait until you get in the back or hide it under the counter…). I would give this place a 2 ½ in quality of food and 3 ½ in quality of service. I will probably be back for the drinks but I will have to think twice about if I want to order another meal here. If you are in the area and want a nice pre-party spot then drop by Cloud IX and see what they have to offer.

After a 3 year hiatus, I made my way back to Cloud 9. In the past, my favorite dish was the Red Snapper. However, I had a taste for Curry Chicken with peas and rice and yams($ 14). My girlfriend had the fried Catfish with sautéed spinach and seasoned fries. It was her first time there and she loved the food so I know we will be back sometime in the near future.

Stopped into This restaurant with a friend a few weeks ago. The bar tender was super friendly and explained the entire menu to me. Their half price happy hour drinks is a great deal that last until 7pm! They also have $ 20 hookah. The vibes and people that were at this restaurant were amazing. Definitely a trendy place to hangout with friends.

Pros: the DJ was so good. We couldn’t stop dancing while we were eating! The yams were super good. Cool hipster crowd. Cons: The DJ played his music at a dancing volume. Everyone was sitting down eating so it didn’t have to be that loud. I was screaming across the table and it hurt my throat :(

This has a very cool ambiance. I like how when I walk in no matter what time of the day I feel like it’s night time. The food is West Indian style. it’s good. a bit over priced I feel. the jerk chicken is always kinda dry. and the hookahs r good but over priced as well

Nice place, the heavenly wings are great! The salmon was not the greatest. The music was good, but a little too loud for conversation. Very dim atmosphere. Great for afterwork hang out.

Great vibe! Sides are great, so are the fried items. Salmon is terrible. Salmon was over cooked and tasted a lot like soap

The DJ’s on Thursday are amazing. Deepmuzik makes everyone feel welcome. The birthday party was pretty packed for a Thursday night and the staff was a little stressed. I found the bartender to be trying her best. I think she was new. It’s hard to be fast at your job when you’re having to measure out shots and go to the register for the price of every drink. The prices are a little inconsistent. Titos in Soda $ 6. Jameson $ 12? That was the last time I went to the bar.

I have never experienced such horrible treatment at this restaurant. I invited friends out on a Thursday night to watch the NBA Finals with me, and we were ignored by the bartender, Autumn, for the majority of the night. The bar wasn’t crowded at all. One friend asked for a glass of wine but the bartender proceeded to take everyone else’s orders and never fulfilled my friend’s. About 30 minutes later after we watched her pour free drinks for the staff and their friends that were there, she finally comes up to us and asks my friend if she still wants her drink. Why would that even be a question? So of course my friend says no after we’ve waited all this time. A friend of ours that patronizes this restaurant frequently saw our frustration and then requested the drink again for my friend. The bartender then got an attitude with my friend for asking for another drink. We were paying customers that expected to be treated as such. The three of us do not intend to come back.

I come here often and my experience has always been exceptional but tonight my bar tender sucked. No smiles, no enthusiasm, no attentiveness & my drinks were not up to par. When I received my bill I was shocked that it’s happy hour night & my liquor had not hit not one vein in my body. Come on you never know what kind of day my business corporate girls have had. We are use to coming here & enjoying ourselves & tonight was shit. Please get it together cloud lx.

We came as a party. So I will cut them some slack. We were seated and waited 20 minutes before being greeted by a server. We all ordered and an hour went by. No drinks or silverware had been brought to the table. My dessert came out before my good and I would be mad but the peach cobbler was delicious. My friend got out of his seat to pass out drinks from the bar because there was only one server and bartender for the night. The food came out 20 minutes after my dessert. I probably would not come here with a group but I would come back to give them a second chance.

I like the vibe here although it can get a little rough around the edges. The drinks are always on point, always street parking, SpeakEasy Lounge is right across the street in case this place is a fail for you. The food is just okay but the friendly bartenders n music makes up for that at a bar. The hookah is mediocre, at best. Always good energy n music though!

It was pretty small but great to start off a evening. Quiet background with light music of hip pop/r&b. The hookah was on point and servers are awesome at keeping it flowing. I’d go back with more friends. The drinks are awesome! Specially made, the Bob Marley was nice!

Went on a Thursday night, wasn’t busy at all. There was a DJ playin a mix of reggae and other genres. Very mellow vibe. Greeted instantly and sat ourselves as instructed by the staff. As we waited for our server a very unpleasant smell took over the area we were sitting in. It smelled like sewage or trash and it got worse the longer we sat there. We moved tables. I ordered the chocolate martini can’t remember the name. It was delicious. I also ordered the specialty cocktail called Ecstasy. The food was good. I ordered the starter sampler which includes three starters. I chose the fish fingers, crab fritters and heavenly wings. All three tasted good. Heavenly wings were the best of the three. Crab fritter had a shard of glass in it. So I didn’t eat the other 2. I also had the red velvet cake Manager took care of everything for me. Mistakes happen and I’m not upset. Yet that is a serious eff up.

This place is absolutely horrible, service by management is horrible. I would rather smoke hookah at home. Food good, drinks subpar… I was in town and looking for a great experience. My expectations were not met and management told me they pack the shisha with a pinch of hookah. I would not patronize this place ever again.

I really hate to review a place that I spent less than 10 minutes in, but you may find value in this review anyway. My sister and I were looking for good food, good music, and a place to vibe and catch up. We went back and forth between this place and another one in the area, and with the flip of a coin decided on this place. Plus the menu here was pretty enticing. We Über-ed our way here, pulled up front to what seemed like a line out the door, but it was actually just people congregated outside. Walked in to find people standing at what looked like a hostess podium as waitstaff walked by them like they didn’t even exist. Then I remembered another Unilocaler saying do not wait to be seated because it doesn’t happen. Boy was she right, so we seated ourselves at an elevated table. The same Unilocaler noted that it was extremely loud in there. I mean really, how loud could it really be it’s a lounge… WOW, they deafened my ear drums, to the point where my sister asked the waitress if there was anywhere quieter in the place she smiled, not at all rudely and said she would ask the DJ to turn down the music. She did and when she did a table of about 6 people who sounded more like 16 started hollering at the DJ that this was their song and proceeded to stand on the chairs and bang the tables in what they must have thought was song. At that point my sis and I left because we knew things there would not get better as the table loudly ordered more rounds. I was pretty disappointed, I really wanted to try their food, drinks and hookah. but we Über-ed ourselves to the other location and the disappointment quickly change to relief and sheer gratitude.

This review is for my visit on February 22nd. My friend Charity & I ran upon Cloud IX Lounge after attending a movie screening at Coze. Usually, I come to Peter St. for drinks & fun but never attempted to go to Cloud IX because of their subtle distance from«the Trifecta»(Spin, Blue Cantina, and 255 Lounge). We arrived to the lounge around 9pm. However, because we saw it said«restaurant» we stood near the steps waiting to be seated. No one came. TIP: Sit anywhere you want as long as it doesn’t say«reserved». Don’t be the dummy looking for a hostess. After finding a table, we finally got to see the menu. Cloud IX has an array of west Indian & soul food dishes. I ordered the crab fritters, mac n’cheese, and spinach; while Charity order the red snapper meal.(SIDENOTE, I wanted the roti but the waiter informed me they didn’t have it. You should never deny Trinidadian people roti!) Both plates well seasoned & pretty delicious. TIP: Expect for the kitchen wait-time to be 30+ minutes. Order a hookah. Take some Instagram photos. Talk to the DJ because, your food won’t be coming out as fast as you expect it. After speaking to the owner, Tusean(spelling?) he informed me they just reopened and currently short of staff. Hence that’s why our food came out so late. Now let’s talk about ATMOSPHERE. Cloud IX’s décor has plenty exposed brick accompanied with dim lighting over looking the Magic City sign. Very Atlanta. Yes it’s on the Peter Street but please don’t expect your 18(fake id) — 24(part time college student/ALDO employee) crowd that you will find at «the Trifecta» places I listed above. Most of the customers wining & dining in Cloud IX look like young professionals who like to listen to Future from time to time. Speaking of Future… TIP: The noise level is pretty loud. Be aware that you will be yelling at your company. Also please ignore the grown ass man strolling and stepping next to your plate of catfish. Yes it might be ruining your dinner but he’s just excited to out of the office. Overall, Charity and I will return again and they better have my roti!

Everything about this place was great — I was happy we stopped by twice during my visit to ATL. Atmosphere is chill, young but mature crowd. Their«Heavenly Wings» absolutely lived up to the name. We stopped by here for drinks after a very filling dinner — and I had to make room for some of these! They were the perfect combination of sweet and savory and I was really sorry we had eaten prior. Cocktails were delicious — the bartenders were great with recommendations and talented in their craft. My only complaint is that this place isn’t closer to NYC! Next time we’re in the A, we’ll definitely be stopping by(with an empty stomach) so I can get my fill of those wings!

ok. i’m in love with their menu. my favorite items — fried green tomatoes, yams, collard greens, hot fudge brownie a la mode, fried tilapia — However I love their entire menu. A few updates: I found out on Tuesdays, they have half-priced appetizer(great idea) Change up on Wednedays — DJ Deliver is no longer spinning there… i’m not sure who has taken his place. Update on Thursdays starting in September(so this month), DJ Majestik will still be spinning upstairs for free but there will also be a DJ spinning in the bottom section for $ 5. So it will be a hip hop collabo happening! Parking is still free in the back! Great staff! Just a cool place to hang!
