Here’s the low-down. Head to Festivity across the street, and they have some of those Mudpie products for cheaper, and they definitely sell the customized ATL coasters for about $ 10 less if you purchase 4 of them. Some things in Festivity are more expensive than Dabberdoo, but it’s marginal if you don’t feel like shopping around. Awesome store though! The counter girl was very cordial and nice to us upon walking in, and they have a hodgepodge of stuff and knick knacks. Some crafty jewelry, and monogrammed aprons, picture frames, and my personal fave, the glass cheese spread block w/spreader that comes w an initial of your choice. Also have some of the best smelling Shea Butter hand cream that I’ve smelled. I picked up some wall art, and some cute magnets and cards. I wanted an apron, but not for $ 24. Pricey products, but I guess I wouldn’t expect cheapness because of the rent alone that they must pay to lease that space on Highland. Parking Scene: FYI The idiots that are APD or whatever Commerce Department have recently instated parking meters that you have to pay or charge a whopping $ 1 for 30 minutes of parking on the LIMITED street spots. Not even NYC in all its glory rapes its citizens that much for a parking meter spot. This is such B$. Then all of the other parking places are $ 5 to park. Sigh… prob won’t come back here as often as I used to bc of these new rules. Recession? Care to stimulate business? have free parking, since this city has the poorest excuse for public transportation – ever. /end rant/

Really underwhelmed with this place. I came here on Saturday seeking a birthday gift for a friend. I got in on the Scoutmob deal last week and I knew I’d be able to find something perfect for her. Maybe my expectations were too high but I couldn’t find what I was looking for. I walked in and there were two associates working with one customer behind the counter. Neither associate acknowledged my entrance into the store. There were a few ladies browsing the goods in the store and not once did an associate approach me or the other customers. I guess the only time you get service here is when you purchase something? I don’t know — I was a bit put off by this because it has been my experience in stores similar to this that the associates are knowledgeable and helpful. I have gotten great service at Doodle Bugz(Marietta) and Lime Tree(Vinings) and I would consider these stores to be equivalent to Dabberdoo. I cannot even comment on the knowledge of the associates here because I never interacted with them. I went to the back of the store to investigate their Vera Bradly selection. My friend is in love with the new VB print — Night and Day — I knew this would be the perfect gift for her. Well, Dabberdoo didn’t even have this print at all. They actually only had about 5VB prints and their selection in pieces was not all that great. I am not a big VB person but gift shops like this usually have a wide array of patterns and pieces. So this annoyed me but I continued to look to find something else for her. Well, I didn’t find anything. I couldn’t even find anything to purchase for myself with the 50% off deal from SM. I will stick to Lime Tree and Doodle Bugz. Their stock and selection is much better than Dabberdoo.

This is a quaint little mom/tot boutique. We approve. I love how they carry local lines in the store. Im all about supporting hand-made goods and start up companies. They also carry great finds that you might see on Etsy, which is a plus in my book. Its a great place to find gifts, but its also a good place to find original items. They have everything from personalized silver jewelry by a local designer, to homemade onesies that are super presh, to cool items like Smencils(if you don’t know what they are look them up. They are pretty rad.), to Poopouri(its exactly what it sounds like, and one squirt & it works. Get it for yer guy. Big or small. You know he needs it.) Next time you are taking a stroll in Virginia Highlands, make sure you stop in Dabberdoo. The owner is usually there and always says hello! Definitely a neighborhood boutique… and we love to have them there!

One of my favorite spots to buy a unique gift — both for friends and babies. I miss the Chattahoochee store location, only because it was so much simpler to pop in quickly(easy parking). Had to add a review to balance out Erica J’s one-star review, which appears totally inconsistent with the paragraph she wrote!

I have to admit right off the bat that this is not the type of shop I would visit on my own so I am a bit biased. I walked in with a friend shopping for a baby gift. Places like this irk me– right off the bat the smell of plastic overwhelmed me. It’s that smell of cheap rubbery plastic stuff that seems to ooze out of the many mass-produced products made predominantly overseas. Kind of like a burnt smell. I’m not saying that’s all they sell but the smell was unavoidable. They definitely carry a wide variety of products, mostly baby and children. Cute personalized items and crafty looking things. I’m sure very hard to resist if shopping for a gift. There were quite a number of locally-designed lines which was the only positive aspect of the shop. I did purchase an item as I like to support local businesses but the items they had on the counter that were shockingly overpriced really made me stop and reassess my support.

Dabberdoo. I wish I had asked the owner for the significance of the name. Did they ask a toddler what he would name the store? Is this a town I’ve never heard of? Obviously I was compelled to go inside this gift shop. It’s filled with items to monogram — bags, wallets, aprons, etc. There are also toys for children, and a few games for adults. There are card games with conversation topics, which I thought would be useful thing to have for a dinner party. The great thing about Dabberdoo’s is the variety — you could find a gift for people of any age or gender in this store. The prices were reasonable as well. I was tempted to buy several items. Perhaps Dabberdoo is foreign for«Come inside and buy me.»
