Rare Sunday in midtown to go see Theresa Caputo at the fox. Reservation for 5p, asked to be sat at a booth rather than small table. Told no problem, someone would be by to wipe down the booth. 15 minutes later, someone wiped the table but left empty drink glass and dirty napkin on the edge. Not a good start. I placed both on the table behind me,(they were still there when I left). Homemade potato chips were flimsy and not crisp at all, we suspect they had been sitting in a warmer for some time. Shrimp tacos and oriental salad were good — not great, but my diet coke glass set empty for 35 minutes(yes I timed it) before I flagged down the waiter for a refill. Trust me they were not that busy. Deserts were good, but I waited 15 minutes for a latte only to be told the milk steamer was out of service(and we found that out when?). When check came back the waiter handed me 3 receipts that were all sopping wet, and I mean dripping. Fitting end to a pretty mediocre meal with lousy service and eh food. Not that it should have bothered me, but there was a private(curtained off) dining room across from us that had the curtain open, and the dirty dishes sat there the whole time we were eating — guess since no one was waiting to eat there, no reason to clean it? Sorry I picked this place for an otherwise delightful night out.

Only one word to describe this place tonight: chaos. Placed our drink and dinner order at 945p. Left at 1005p after no drinks or any sign of service. Atlanta has far too many great restaurants to stoop to this level. Now enjoying a meal at STK

Had a brunch double date here the other day and LOVED it! They give you a basket of house bread, and it includes this lemony-cranberry bread that is SOGOOD. The portions are very generous, and service was great; my coffee cup was never empty! I got the crab omelette with andouille sausages, herbed cream cheese, pickled jalapeños and sriracha and loved it. At first, I thought the crab was IN the omelette, but it was actually on top. The omelet was STUPID good. It was probably one of the best omelette I’ve ever had, and it was huge! It was a wonderful, hearty meal with perfect textures and incredible, strong flavours that all worked in harmony. I got my omelette with a side of buttermilk pancakes; there were two of them and I thought that was dinky at first, but the omelette was so hearty that it was more than enough. They also have a make your own Bloody Mary bar that, unfortunately, doesn’t open before 11 am. The ambiance is great: they have these crazy iridescent tiles inside that look like abalone shell on crack and it was hard for me to stop staring at them. I would go again just for the complementary valet(yes, you read that right), but I will FORSURE be going back for that crab omelette!!!

After all the many years and visits, I finally decided to write a review. For some time now, I’ve been trying to figure out what about this place makes it tick. What’s the hype? And sadly, I’ve determined it will go renown & unknown. Einstein’s has above average food, but below par service. I have had lots of great eats here, but when I start to garble at the overall quality of restaurant, it fails on so many levels. Here goes… Food Service D, Bar Service D, Cleanliness C, Staff C, Food B, and if you average it all up… C-. Get it together Einstein.

Worst service ever! Just stopped in for an early brunch. Seated for 15 minutes without even one of the 8 servers who walked by saying even one word to us. Got up and left without ordering.

Get the Bloody Mary. You will love it. And want to have its babies. I got two of them and could have had more… Just saying. Oh and the food was good too. Outside patio seating on a beautiful morning set the mood perfectly on a GaTech football day. No complaints at all!

This gem falls off of my radar too frequently. I love it each time I go, though. They have a Bloody Mary bar that I can’t pass up. Choose to build your own and you are on your way. Beyond the expected celery stalk, they offer fresh horseradish, pickled okra, many kinds of tomato –based mixes and everything else to make your dream cocktail. I was doubtful of pairing it with my meal, but the combination was a homerun. For my meal, I selected the Brioche Banana French Toast with the Peanut Butter White Chocolate Glaze. OMG. That was the happiest experience! It looks humongous when it arrives, but half way through I became convinced of the rationale for using Brioche for the recipe. It was so light that the whole dish was gone before I knew it. If you like peanut butter a lot, like I do, ask for extra peanut butter glaze. Ultimately, the savory Bloody Mary was THE right choice to pair with my meal. They complimented each other perfectly. The only negative is parking, but there is a public lot on 12th St, around the corner in the same block. For me to become a regular, I’ll have to find a way to save on parking. I might be able to use MARTA.

I write this with a sore heart. This use to be my favorite place but now it needs to die. I had my 30th birthday here which makes this even harder to write. The server was incredible the food was way over priced and awful. Pancakes were burnt so we ordered new pancakes which then were not cooked in the center. How do you mess up pancakes? My omelette was so lack luster the nicest thing I could think to say. Biscuit was dry and gravy which obviously not created by a southerner. The mimosa was good but don’t try to pay your rent off my 1 glass. It’s cheap orange juice and cheap by the case Champaign. DJ was cliché I’d rather see them invest in a better executive chef. If you are going to support an old Atlanta institution I respect that but I’m never wasting money there again. If you are reading this and own a restaurant hire Caleb he was a great server. So sad. So very sad.

Einstein’s has a fantastic patio, pretty decent cocktails and a really delicious brunch. I’d definitely recommend the green omelet with brunch potatoes or the bourbon banana french toast.

Seemed like a nice place and menu looked good but after 15 mins of no one stopping to say hello or take a drink order we left. Walked out to the host and said they had a table free since we were ignored and he smiled politely and said have a good night. Will never come here again.

I came here with some friends for dinner. I’ve been here before but always for brunch. We decided to sit at the bar since we were catching up and all arriving at different times. They have a nice bar area, there’s also a space to the side for meetings or a small event. I think an out of state alumni assoc was having an event while we were there. The bartenders were great. Very attentive, good conversation, and they made good drinks. I was starving when I got there and hadn’t had a chance to look over the menu so I ordered the beef taco. Either I was really hungry or it was just amazing lol. I was planning on ordering another one for my actual meal but I tasted my friends Parmesan crusted chicken linguine and it was so good I decided to order it instead. My other friend ordered the grilled chicken avocado sandwich and said it was great as well. They have an awesome patio with a good amount of outdoor seating. I usually sit outside if it’s not raining. One time we were lucky enough to spot Baton Bob and see him in action. Haha. I would’ve gave them a 5 but the bar seems to have a gnat problem. I turned away and there were 3 in my drink– they remade it with no problem. I also kept a napkin over my food while I ate so they would not get on it. If you come for brunch make a reservation. It’s usually very busy. They have $ 5 martinis everyday. The valet is right past the restaurant. Look for a yellow valet sign and a tiny blue house. It’s right there. If the valet is full you can park in the deck directly across from the restaurant and there’s also a parking lot across from the valet.

Had brunch at Einstein’s during my last day in Atlanta. My first thought when my friend recommended Einstein’s for brunch was«the bagel place?» The answer is no, this is not the same Einstein’s. That said, THIS Einstein’s has a classy atmosphere with a diverse menu. They offer traditional breakfast or lunch items. We started with some fried green tomatoes that were almost like a caprese and they were delightful! For my meal I had the ahi tuna and greens and it was very fresh. Our server was extremely attentive and our meal was the perfect length of time. I only wished they could serve mimosas earlier in the day on Sunday!

Since there are 343 reviews already, I mainly want to put my two cents in about the shrimp and grits. They are absolutely the best I have ever had. The grits are so creamy and the chef doesn’t skimp on the delicious shrimp. We tried this dish on the Peachtree food tour and I wanted to come back and try it again. It was just that good! The dish is a little spicy, which I just love. My fiancé had the hillbilly burger, which I tried, and thought was very good as well. We both thought something was missing from the burger and realized, after looking at the menu afterwards, that barbecue sauce was missing. It was still very good.

Brunch in Atlanta is almost like a sport. There are some really serious contenders who work hard to be the best. In Midtown, a top competitor is Einstein’s, hands down. I came here on Sunday with a group of 8 girls. I hadn’t been in 5 years but when I lived in ATL I seriously loved the fried green tomato benedict. This is obviously in large part due to the fact that I friggin love fried green tomatoes, and good ones are nearly impossible to find up north. I had heard that Einstein’s has been really hit or miss in recent years, so I was slightly concerned that I would show up and would be totally disappointed, but fortunately things were as good as ever and I got my fried green tomato fix! The benedict comes with 2 poached eggs, goat cheese, basil aioli and a red pepper purée. The tomatoes are fried crispy and have a lot of flavor, and the tomatoes are juicy and fresh. The eggs were also poached perfectly, and the aioli and purée were really flavorful. I don’t know that I detected very much goat cheese, which in retrospect is kind of lame, but it didn’t hinder the overall quality of the plate. It was also served with a side of some type of cheesy grits, I think they were pepper jack. They were definitely good, though a little bit more coarse and less creamy than I generally prefer. My sister got the bourbon banana French toast which comes with peanut butter glaze and white chocolate curls that seriously look like fresh parmesan. They don’t have many«griddle» options, but this seems like a good choice for someone with a sweet tooth. And I was also surprised by how nice the smoked salmon bagel platter looked. It comes out beautifully with a fresh toasted bagel, capers, tomato, red onion, cream cheese, and a hearty serving of lox. Simple in concept, but they don’t skimp on presentation. One weird thing: I asked if they had hot chocolate because I didn’t see it on the menu, and I was told that they don’t but that they have chocolate syrup. I was like oh, uh, wouldn’t that just be chocolate milk? So… no hot chocolate for you. But I guess who besides me would order that in July in Georgia… I don’t know if it’s true that Einstein’s is hit or miss, or if the quality has declined in the past few years. From my perspective, the fried green tomato benedict was every bit as good as I remembered, and remains one of the best brunch dishes I have ever had anywhere.

I went here for a mate’s casual birthday dinner on Wednesday. I would give this place a «5» if not for the manager & waiters’s attitudes. Food: 4 Location: 5 Service: 2 Food — I got the turkey hilly billy burger with avocado and a side of sweet potato fries and visited heaven while eating it. It was that bomb! I also tasted my friend’s parmesan crusted chicken linguine — the vodka creamer sauce was divine. We skipped the drinks Location — It was very decent to have outdoor seating. I did not check out the inside. There is also comp valet parking that they share with Joe’s next door. Service — We rsvped for 10 and grew to 15. There were still spare tables on the patio but the manager came up to express his disgust in the most sarcastic yet nice way about our large party. The waiter was also very snobbish and kept hushing people when they reminded him about their pending drink orders. It took the waiter 1 hour to get our food orders but only 15−20mins for the food to be prepared. I expect that a larger group will be welcomed by a restaurant that has the extra room and not despised.

Brunch review: I thought I was at brunch at my doctor’s office! Not, it was not because it was sterile! is bc we had lots of waiting to do. Granted it was 12:15 brunch but they were well staffed! We(2 ladies) sat unattended for 10 minutes after the hostess placed us at the table. We then waited a substantial amount of time after the server brought our drinks(at least 15 minutes) to take our brunch order. My friend and I joked that we should call with our phones to remind them we were there! The complimentary breads/pastries should have come pretty much after we got our drinks, however, when I inquired about them(looked at my watch and it was 1:05p) the server insisted they don’t send it until AFTER we order out food(WTF for?) So we were basically buttering our breads while making room for the brunch dishes. Bloody Mary may as well had been cocktail sauce! Heavy on the horseradish, such that you could see the white bits in the bottom and all over the drink. The food was unimpressive. My Benedict wasn’t tasty. I usually frown upon salting foods that a Chef is overseeing, but I had to do something! The Canadian Ham/bacon was so thin, I thought I did not get any, and the Hollandaise was way bland It was a sort of fiasco, really. I am sticking with Goin’ Coastal… They may not have a view and patio, but the food has flavor!

Meh. I’m updating my review because the service was so horrible. The vibe on the patio is still awesome. Great view of Midtown. It would just be a lot more enjoyable if we had a different server. Can you imagine sitting at a table and overhearing your server complaining to another server about having to wait on your party of 9? Yeah, we’re not the smallest of parties, but it’s not pleasant. I hope Jordan isn’t serving you if you dare to go. She had a habit of making nasty comments that she might’ve thought we couldn’t hear, but oh, sweetie no. Here’s a sampling: «well, that’s unattractive.” – while picking up our plates. «Move your fluffy ass!” – while having to push in a chair when someone stepped away «Let me get her fork first. That’s more important.” – when I asked for a napkin And the coup de gras was when one of the girls, who manages a restaurant and well versed in the service industry, ordered house bourbon and our waitress brought her Crown Royal. When she pointed out to Jordan the mistake, the response was«well, it’s only 20 cents more.» Uh, not the point? Whiskey is not equal to bourbon. She also finished off the discussion with«I’m spending too much time with you. I need to get someone their salad dressing.» Oh. In hindsight, we should’ve asked to speak with a manager; however, we were so desperate to get out there and away from the grumpy waitress. What’s so disappointing was we were here to celebrate a bachelorette. We came ready to spend money on drinks and leave a decent tip. We ended up not spending as much given the rude and slow service.

LOVELOVELOVE the outdoor seating. So lush and green during the warm weathers. But let me tell you, no wonder the ladies from The Real Housewives of Atlanta are always fighting and yelling at each other. They’re always irritated from eating at horrible restaurants like this! I waited almost an hour for a classic wedge and it came out so disgustingly ugly. The iceberg looked so old and flimsy and the plating was such a mess. They tried to make it look sophisticated, but it literally looked like the chef plated the salad with his butt. I was so upset I sent it back and ordered a forty minute subpar sandwich. As Kenya Moore from The Real Housewives would say, «I’m gone with the wind fabulous» to the other restaurant over there.

I love Einsteins! Granted I always sit at the bar, but the staff is what makes this place. It’s never overly crowded but always busy which is a clear sign that the community agrees with me. The patio is great when it’s nice out and the back rooms can accommodate large parties. I suggests brunch all day everyday. This isn’t the place where you get 5star service. You’ll ask for coffee a few times and honestly, just ask for two waters with no ice and you’ll never worry about being thirsty. It’s the type of place that you need to come to with a peaceful relaxed mindset. Don’t stress out, and if you’re those people that relish in finding things wrong with EVERYTHING – do yourself and everyone else a favor and just SITATTHEBAR! You need a straw? Done. It’s right there. Another drink? Bam-it’s made. Attention? 2 bartenders working minimum. Problems solved. They have a kick ass Bloody Mary bar so you can make it how you like it. Definitely worth checking out if you haven’t already. Oh and omelette.

Another year, another review, and unfortunately, another downgrade. I really wish Einstein’s would get its act together and be the great neighborhood dining destination it should be. I’m giving them a generous three stars because Einstein’s can and does get many things right, but my visits during 2014 confirm this restaurant still has some troubling issues. Since my last review, the menu has changed several times, and Einstein’s has decided to take the GF label off their menu. I can certainly understand this, as menu items change and it can be difficult to guarantee allergy-free ingredients, but it was one of the things I loved about the Einstein’s experience. For those with food allergies, please be sure to let the server know, and they will do their best to accommodate you. The Brasstown beef burger is still quite tasty, and the kitchen usually gets the cooking temperature correct. I love a good medium-rare burger when made with excellent ingredients, and this burger — sans bun, of course — is my favorite. Paired with their creamy, pepper jack cheesy grits, it’s one of my favorite GF lunches. Sadly, Einstein’s service issues still linger. I’m not sure if this is due to high turnover, poor training, a lack of leadership, or something else entirely, but it is a serious problem and needs to be fixed immediately. There are so many great restaurants in my little Midtown neighborhood, and I find myself choosing this good old standby less and less these days. Typical service missteps include delivering a wrong/incomplete dish, neglecting to put in an order, then acting surprised when only two of three entrees are served(and then attempting to place blame on the diner for the mistake), overlong waits for basic things like water glass refills, drink orders from the bar, and re-fired food for the initially incorrect dish. Yes, we are all human and mistakes are made, but if you get it wrong, bring out the fix immediately, not after everyone else has finished their meal. Luckily, I’ve only had one experience where all of the above occurred, and I know the server responsible no longer works at Einstein’s. But at least one or two service errors do happen on every visit, so before I go I put my expectations in check. And that is too bad, because I know Einstein’s can be great. It just isn’t right now.
