Cheaper than Barnes & Nobles. Besides one should support local businesses, especially this one that a Tech staple.

Looks like David here might actually beat Goliath being B&N who even had millions from Microsoft – see attached link. I love this locally owned and think now its time to support the best bookstore at GT with the best service and did I forget the best prices.

Always shop here first before going over to the GT B&N bookstore.

Unfortunately, this is one of those places that may not last much longer. The store is spot on for what it is, a perfect supply spot for engineers in need of supplies and knowledge. They’ve always been able to order in just about anything, and their textbook prices have historically been lower than the B&N in Tech Square. The staff is nice as can be, and always takes care of you there.

Great place Prices there are less than in Others stores. Sometimes even cheaper than shooing online. Service is great.

This is «the» place to get professional books in the Atlanta metro area. I still wear my Engineer’s Bookstore hat. I love those free rulers !! I remember getting one of those free t-shirts every Fall when I was in school.

Everyone knows about this place because you can’t go to a single class without seeing someone wearing some partially-washed, wrinkled,(free!) Engineer’s Bookstore t-shirt. The shirts are fugly. I’m not entirely sure, but I think they stopped giving these free shirts out. Anyways. These guys are the alternative to Barnes and Noble. You would think that they’d offer cheaper prices than B&N, but really, they don’t. You would also think that they might offer you a better buy-back price compared with B&N, but they truly don’t. I guess they’re just counting on you and your morals — support a mega chain or the local neighborhood«deal»? At the end of the day it doesn’t matter, cause in case you can’t grab the book off of Amazon since the book is(of course) the exclusive«Georgia Institute of Technology Edition,» you’re still gonna be forced to drop a bundle of money. Return policy is the same as at B&N — full refund only if returned by the end of the first week of classes.

Most of the time I can find used books here for cheaper than at Barnes and Noble. I try to buy all of my books here, even if they are the same price just so that I can support the store. The staff is friendly, and definitely knows a lot more than the staff at B&N, and they have more of a direct contact with the professors of my classes most of the time. I also like how they stock simple engineer’s pads and notebooks too.

The Friendly Independent Bookstore vs. The Evil Corporate Barnes & Noble Bookstore? This is the dilemma every Georgia Tech student faces when buying text books. It comes down to price of new books, selection of used books available, distance they have to carry the books back to the dorms, and return policy(for when they drop the class after the first day). Engineer’s Bookstore has new and used text books. It’s better if you get there early in the week to grab the cheaper used books. They do sell out quickly. It’s located closer to west campus, although the Tech Trolley does not stop here. The return policy is that you have until the Friday at 5pm the first week of classes to receive a full refund. You can’t return it after that. You can sell your books back at the end of the semester, but expect only a fraction back from what you paid for it. They do not keep text books there the whole semester, usually only through the first month. If you’re not a Tech student, I don’t know why you would come here.

The name isn’t some attempt to be cute and tie in to the Georgia Tech scene… it really is a bookstore that caters to engineers and technical publications. Need the latest and greatest building codes? This is your place. Need a decently priced book for fun? Umm… go somewhere else. Tech students know this store very well. I’m sure some of them would love to forget it entirely since they spent so much time and money there. It’s a college bookstore selling vital books and materials for classes, so you know the prices are going to be jacked through the roof and ridiculous. And then they’ll buy them back for a fraction of the price. Good times!
