I loved the BBQ salmon and peel n eat shrimp, sliders are great as well. Great atmosphere for business meetings. Hot towels at the end are a great touch.

I had that I am having to write such a disappointing review. I have been a huge fan of the H2SR group, and frequent at least one of the restaurants weekly(Noche, Coast, Goldfish, STRIP, Shucks, and the once-was Cantina), but this last visit to Goldfish has turned me off the H2SR group entirely. Apparently Goldfish is closing. We ordered a few apps to start with. Simple apps like edamame that take NO time to prepare. We also ordered a few sushi rolls. 15 – 20 minutes disappear, no appetizers. Another 15 minutes or so go by, and finally our sushi arrives. Where are my appetizers I asked for almost 40 minutes ago? Then the appetizers came out AFTER the main course arrived, after we told our server we no longer wanted the appetizers. Already lacking service, and typical restaurant protocol. But when we got our check, I was shocked — a bill for almost TWICE what I was expecting. When I asked about the difference in cost from the menu, and the different items, the server explained since they are closing and have limited ingredients, that are upgrading the dishes they are out of to whatever premium dish that is similar. Wait? What? Where’s the manager? Manager comes to our table, explains the same thing. «We are closing and out of XYZ ingredients, so we upgraded your dish to the next one.» Hold on a second here, you upgraded my dish without informing me that you are closing your restaurant, have a limited menu, or that you were upgrading my dish to a more expensive one? How extremely unprofessional. The manager refused to do anything about the bill and we were forced to pay our $ 120 tab for two, which should have been around $ 70. He argued that because we ate the dishes, we were obligated to pay for the premium upcharge of the dish. That is absolutely blasphemous to stick your customer with your business shortcomings. This is by far the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. I’m sorry H2SR, but if this is how you train your managers, none of your restaurants will be getting any of my business again.

Sushi was good, I had to come back the next day for round 2! The Hurricane roll, Alaskan and Philly are good choices. My wife had The Emperor, and loved it.

Food was delicious. Their entrée was reasonably priced and perfect portion of sides included! I love the half salad option. I would hate to see what a full salad be. Excellent swordfish and Shane was a great waiter!

I went for lunch today with a group of 3. Calamari was great but then followed by the worst grilled shrimp I have ever had(I have had a lot in 56 years!) it was Dry Flavorless Tough — I ordered a salad and«added» shrimp! I tried to share it with others in the group and literally they refused. I asked for cocktail sauce and it couldn’t mask the bad flavor ! Won’t be back !

When arriving at Goldfish, the atmosphere was instantly painted as romantic and quaint. The aquarium behind the hostess stand gives a nice backdrop to the theme of the restaurant, and the waterfall behind the sushi bar reinforced the theme to the end of the restaurant. After being seated, the service was wonderful. Our server checked in on our table at the correct times and did not rush us. As for the food, the entrees tasted wonderful and the presentation was very nice. Overall, the atmosphere, service, and taste of Goldfish was great!

Came here for Valentine’s day with the boyfriend. The menu is somewhat pricey, and the sushi is not quite as good as Haiku near Northpoint Mall in Alpharetta, but it was still very, very good. I believe my boyfriend got the mahi mahi and loved it. I got the volcano roll, and it was pretty delicious. The dessert was probably one of the best things I’ve ever eaten(it was a v-day special, however). What really stood out here was the service The managers and wait staff both do a great job. The house was packed on Valentine’s day, but the waitress never missed a beat. The one thing I didn’t like was that the water glasses weren’t clear. It seemed to make it very difficult for the water fillers to tell when someone was running low, and at least once or twice, my boyfriend and I found ourselves thirsty. I’d highly recommend the owners or managers either a.) switch to clear glasses, or b.) start leaving carafes of water at each table when guests sit down. Overall, a highly enjoyable experience. The staff made it really special!

I went here for a work sponsored private party on a Friday afternoon. Located in the perimeter mall area but not located in the mall. The best bet is paying $ 5 for valet service because the restaurant is right behind the valet stand. The restaurant is fairly large and spacious. Pretty empty on a Friday early afternoon. The host greeted me very warmly and helped me find my party. We were served a fixed menu. Every course was brought out rather rapidly. One of the severs tried to remove my plate when I was eating. I politely almost bit his head of for this. I hate when people do that! Clearly I’m not done yet. Other than that no more service issues. I missed the appetizer portion so in I can’t comment on that. I had the icebergs wedge which was fine, nothing special there. I got the shrimp and grits for my entrée since this is a signature dish. Of note, I do not like grits but I went for it anyway. They were delicious and more creamy than gritty. The shrimp and sausage were well seasoned without over powering the dish. I was very happy with it. For desert I had the crème brûlée which was decent but nothing to write home about. I sampled the turtle cheesecake which was pretty good and a huge portion. Overall good experience. I don’t think this place will get on my favorites list but not a bad seafood place to check out if your in the area. Enjoy!

I went to this restaurant on Valentines evening and was pact, but we’ve got very lucky and caught and table in the bar area. The service was top notch and the food was good but wasn’t a «wow». I don’t see myself going out of my way to eat here. I will give it another shot soon.

My husband and I loved this place. We went on a Saturday night, and made reservations which I recommend. The staff was incredibly nice and attentive even considering they were so busy. All of the food sounded and looked amazing, but we were craving sushi so we stuck to that side of the menu. We ordered the dynamite roll and another roll with the ahi tuna appetizer. Everything was delicious. The roll wasn’t too spicy and the ahi tuna was delicious. As far as drinks, their sangria is sweet, but yummy. They also seemed to have a lot of wine/beer options. The atmosphere is similar to Cheesecake factory, you can go casual or nice and you wont feel out of place. I will 100% eat here again and recommend it to a friend(obviously)

Many years ago, I lived in the Perimeter district and frequented Goldfish. Now a Memphian, my visits to this establishment are a rare occasion. They still deliver good food and service! Whether for business or pleasure, Goldfish is a good choice. I will take off one star for their lack of Japanese beers and for not offering a selection of Japanese whiskeys at their sushi bar(sorry Goldfish, blaming the local beverage distributor just doesn’t cut it).

Excellent service and big room ambiance await at Goldfish; an upper tier decorated restaurant in perimeter mall. For unsuspecting locals; this will seem like a sushi Asian fusion destination but for the remainder of foodies; it is sadly just an ordinary entry with good décor; the Asian fusion part is completely missed and not done right. Starting with the sushi; well of course you can tell if the sushi is good by how the Tina sashimi melts in your mouth. Well the first sign that something is wrong is by the absence of Japanese sushi chefs behind the counter. The tuna sashimi appetizer($ 7) came with 4 tiny but thickly cut pieces of white tuna that appeared pre cut well ahead of time and sliced with a automatic slicer; it was tough and chewy. So definitely avoid the sushi. Nothing Japanese to rave about here. Next came the lettuce wrap, nice attempt at pork lemon grass and shallots with an accompaniment of sliced english cucumbers; they were ok But nothing special. Nothing Thai about it. The deep fried cheese gritter balls appeared tasty and southern local; the one good thing to report. There was a spicy plum sauce to give it that Asian fusion taste; nice try but Asian fusion it isn’t; true Georgia appy? For sure For entrees we had mountain rainbow trout with Apple frisée salad and roast potatoes. Nice dish; the apple salad dressing was liquid and very saucy thus overwhelming the plate and leaking into the fish. Side dishes were soso at best: — garlic green beans yes, big hit — sautéed spinach in garlic and lemon, soso — braised brussell sprouts with bacon and onions, not good and watery. To finish off, an exceptional looking key lime pie came in; but it was a round torte. It was tangy and sour just right but overall nothing special. A big disappointment was the way they serve tea for a restaurant trying to be more than just fast casual with a good level of service. Water for the hot Tea came in a cup with a mighty leaf branded bag on the side and not in a tea kettle #big nono #no no no!!! All and all nice try; big room Ambiance with great service for average decent food but definitely missed on trying to be Thai Japanese and seafood all at the same Time. Just stick to doing good american seafood and steaks right and I am sure this restaurant will widen its customer base to more than Just the unsuspecting locals looking for a great dining experience. Ambiance décor and service are on point so very little work Left with tweaking the menu to be authentic local and not a try to being slightly Asian lol

Though I haven’t tried much at Goldfish, I love my usual — the emperor roll and the lettuce wraps. The emperor roll is wrapped in seared steak, and when topped with ginger, dipped in some hot sauce and wasabi mixed with soy sauce, it could possibly be one of the best things I have ever eaten! The lettuce wraps are a nice addition to the sushi if you’re still hungry but not hungry enough to order another sushi roll. It’s fresh and tasty. The service is always excellent even when they’re busy. The wait staff, managers, and hostesses are always attentive and very friendly. If I want sushi and am in town, this is where I go!

I have been already been to Goldfish twice. The most recent time was on my last day working out of Sandy Springs. I went to lunch with some of my coworkers to bid farewell to our former office home. I’m very skittish about sushi. I have a serious problem trusting restaurants that handle raw fish. I don’t know why. So visiting Goldfish put that at ease considering the décor is incredibly stimulating with the murals on the ceilings. They have two different menus. They have your typical menu for traditional American seafood or sushi. We opted for the sushi. For appetizers, I have tried the calamari as well as the ginger salad. The calamari was a no brainer because, in my opinion, any place that specializes in seafood is required to have exceptional calamari. I have also tried the rainbow roll, the volcano roll, and the spider roll. To start the calamari is just what I expected it to be; incredibly tender. I’m quite the sucker for good calamari. However, the ginger salad is a clear must if your not much in the mood for a heavy appetizer. There’s something so simple yet so tastefully complex about the ginger dressing they put on some simple iceberg lettuce that created a instant win for me. Now, the fun part. The sushi is very fresh, well rolled, and created simply. What I mean by simply is that they do not over dress their sushi with aioli(aka mayonnaise if you loathe an overkill of the stuff like I do) like a particular place I’ve tried in the greater Atlanta area. I feel as though that if you are putting that much mayonnaise on fresh fish, you’re hiding something. Goldfish keeps it light and fresh. The volcano roll is legitimately spicy but just in the right amount. This is typically my favorite staple at any sushi restaurant. The spider roll is okay, but I don’t typically go for such rolls. This was more of a choice someone else made while we shared several rolls. However, the one roll that outshines my go to favorite was the rainbow roll. Deliciously cool and fresh. You can actually distinguish between the different types of fish on the roll. I know you’re suppose to do that with sushi, but I’ve have some PRETTY bad sushi in my time. The sad truth is that I will not find myself in Sandy Springs more often to enjoy Goldfish on a lunch date with one of my work buddies. However, my experience will definitely allow me to consider a trip to Sandy Springs when the sushi bug bites.

I flew into Atlanta to visit my family for our holiday time. My mommy picked me up from the airport and we drove to Perimeter Mall to shop for boots and coats(it is pretty cold in «hotlanta» in the winter) and to meet dad for dinner. My daddy picked Goldfish, thinking I could find plenty to eat there… good choice. We walked into a pretty crowded restaurant. There is a HUGE fish tank right behind the hostess stand full of some really impressive BIG and colorful fishes. The hostesses were friendly and helped us out, as my dad beat us to the venue. My daddy already was at a table drinking a martini waiting on us girls. We traveled through the dinning area to the table. The place is very beautifully decorated. It is trendy, fresh, inviting and has a large open ceiling space. Our server greeted us and grabbed our drinks and we ordered sashimi to start. I love hamachi, I did not really want to share! Lol For dinner, I ordered shrimp and grits.(California does not have shrimp and grits on the dinner menu – ANYWHERE!). The server was awesome and let me know that they put some sort of andouille sausage in with the shrimp-we left that out. The shrimp was delicious and I have never hated grits anywhere… Yummy! One of the managers, Alexandria, came over and my dad complimented her on the fact that the restaurant was not as loud as he remembered, he hates loud places ;) She told us they were not as busy as usual that night, too cold outside is what I decided-I HATE cold weather, I bet people stayed home. All in all, we had a really nice time. It has been so long since I have visited Atlanta, and this is a newer place for me in the area. I will most definitely have Goldfish on my list for places to dine during my next trip home to visit the FAM. Still catching up on my Thanksgiving reviews… thank you for being patient. This was before that awful foot surgery… I am just happy I could visit my fam and teach them about Unilocal. Stephani Smiles for Goldfish ;)

I was catching up with a great friend & we were craving sushi. We had drinks and appetizers next door at the Pub but had to stop in to grab a roll. We went straight to the bar and asked for the sushi menu. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. It’s trendy and doesn’t have that tacky«seafood restaurant» décor you typically see elsewhere. Our bartender rocked. He was attentive & efficient, that Friday night. We both indulged in the«Fin Classic» which was a combination of vodka and lemon juices. It can be served over ice or in a martini glass. We both opted for the latter. The drink was delicious and our spider rolls were a perfect compliment. Sushi rolls off their regular price menu range from about $ 9-$ 15. That seems reasonable and competitive to other restaurants that serve sushi. I have yet to try their seafood but for drinks & sushi, I’m definitely going to return for more happy hours and good times with great friends.

I’ve walked past this spot a million times while walking into the mall and never cared to stop. Today my friend decided we should go here for lunch and I didn’t protest. From the lunch menu, I had the roasted corn & blue crab soup along with a half Caesar salad. My friend had the fish & chips. In regards to my food, the soup was delicious, although there was not much crab meat in it(disappointing). The salad was okay but the dressing was pretty bland. Then I realized why they put 2 whole anchovies on my plate.(I actually had those moved to the side, but I wish they were blended in my dressing). My friend’s fish and chips seemed to be good, I didn’t hear any complaints. The fish had a nice golden color. The fries looked as I expected. I did taste the cole slaw and thought to myself that it could’ve used some flair(maybe celery seed or something). What I like about the spot is the ambience, the white table cloth service, the convenient exterior mall location, and it’s close proximity to H&M. Oh, and the lunch staff was pleasant, too. I may go back, I’m not sure yet.

This has got to be the first of a H2S restaurant that I just don’t care for. Our service was top notch, and compared to the 2.5 hour wait at the Cheesecake Factory that is next door to this restaurant. It was my mom’s birthday and we both had professed a few days before her birthday that we were sick of eating out, so we should have stood with that and just grabbed something from the food court, cause $ 90 including tip later, I only liked the drinks. Try the Cucumber Gimlet if you like cucumbers. Mom started with a cup of the Blue Crab Corn Chowder and I had the peel and eat shrimp. Mom says the chowder was good and she ate the entire bowl, so I imagine it must have been. She offered me some, and I requested our waitress bring out another spoon, she never did, so I stuck with the shrimp. Nothing special, steamed shrimp with old bay. Mom had the fish and grits which she seemed to enjoy and didn’t have any complaints about. I should have listen to my first thought and went with something simple, but ended up getting the BBQ Salmon. It came slathered with BBQ sauce on top. So much so that if you didn’t know it was salmon you would have not known it. It destroyed the flavor of the salmon and wasn’t tasty at all. Our server was Jen and she was sweet enough, I guess after overhearing me say it was my mom’s birthday to bring her a slice of cheesecake, which to me was the second best part of the entire meal. Probably would not return unless someone else was picking up the tab.

I’m not a fan of sushi chain restaurants, so I didn’t expect much from Goldfish. The menu was a bit overwhelming, because they have various rolls. The rolls are very creative but definitely not traditional, and made more for those that like rolls filled with cream cheese and such. Service was friendly but really slow, and the décor reads like a typical mall restaurant. Would I suggest this place for dinner? Probably not. But if you’re ever at the mall during lunchtime, and you get hungry, stop by for a $ 5 bottles cold sake and a cucumber roll at the least.

My husband and I had the pleasure of spending our Valentines Day the night before at Goldfish. It was perfect because we wanted to beat the rush and also wanted to splurge on some great seafood! We were sat at the half tables facing towards the dining area and I loved the ambience. I’m not a fan of dark restaurants, but it felt perfect last night. Appetizers: 1) Chilled Seafood Tower: Half of a chilled Maine Lobster, half a pound of Peel & Eat Shrimp, Lump Crab meat Cocktail, Mussel Salad, 4 East Coast Oysters, 4 Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Scottish Smoked Salmon = $ 42.95 2) Low Rider Roll: spicy yellowtail, avocado, romaine lettuce, topped with blackened white tuna & wasabi mayo = $ 12.95 Main Dishes 1) Ribeye 2) Sea Bass Hong Kong Style(sauteed spinach, sherry-soy broth, & sticky rice) extra $ 5.95 Dessert 1) Banana Waffle| we asked to replace the Butter Pecan ice cream with the Hazelnut Ice Cream. SOGOOD. I pretty much loved everything we got. The Seafood Tower was a great assortment but to call it a «tower» wouldn’t exactly be correct, it’s more like a big platter. The Mussel Salad was a pleasant surprise and my mouth is watering just thinking about it! WHATEVER you do GETYOURFISHHONGKONGSTYLE. It’s that special amount of crisp and tenderness! nom nom nom. TIP: Ask if STEVE is working and ask to be sat in his section. He was so sweet and helped us have a delicious meal. We also got a great recommendation from their manager Brett who helped me decide on the Hong Kong Style!
