This was an amazing place, the food was off the chain. My wife ordered prime rib which I never like, however this was hands down the best prime rib I have ever had. All of the food was perfect and tasty. It was more dressy then I was expecting, however they did not treat us any differently. A big surprise was our bill, it was far less than I was expecting and the quality far out weighed the price tag. An A+ experience!

Would’ve been great to know they don’t give a free birthday desert when making the bday dinner reservation, so they lose a star there, but the food was very good. Huge portions. I tried the crab claws based on the reviews and they were pretty okay. I didn’t really care for the oil they sat in though. Super greasy! Hubby had the beef rib and it was amazing!!! I will be going back for that dish alone! I strongly suggest it! Skip the beef steak tomatoes though. Nothing special. The atmosphere was nice and the wait time for the food to come was acceptable.

Well, you got the big bucks — go ahead. I just came in for a sandwich or salad. Wound up going with the salmon salad,$ 13.86(txinc) I’m just waiting for my salad now — and I’ll finish this review after I get finished with my food at home. Three stars and photo for now.

I wasn’t sure what to expect and I’m not quite sure of everything after visiting. I would visit again though. The good: the view outside of the Windows was amazing. Even though the restaurant is in the middle of a busy area, they left enough foliage and scenery to make it feel a little nestled away. The liquor collection! What a sight. Imagine a library with a rolling ladder to reach the high shelves. Instead of books, liquid courage! The buttered croissants were amazing. You are doing yourself a disservice if you do not order them. Cheat on you carb diet for them. The bad: the food was a bit of a let down. It wasn’t bad but it was good. When you have to say the bread is the best thing you ate, that’s not good. Overall: potential is the word that comes to mind. When you first walk in you get the impression you are in a high end restaurant. That’s where that feeling stops. Maybe it’s the location but there’s people in suits, yoga pants, shorts etc. I am not sure what the idea attire is or what. I feel this place would be great if they made it more upscale and really took it the next category of restaurants. It kind of felt like a chain steak house with higher aspirations.

Some hits, a lot of misses. During recent business travel I ate here a few times with the group I was with, so I had the opportunity to try several dishes, and to get a sense of the quality of the service. Portions are massive; often extreme. For instance, the Ruben is presented as an open face with what must exceed a pound of meat. The beef rib is gigantic. They don’t offer a lunch portion menu, so based on the massive portions, you will have lunch leftovers. Massive doesn’t, however, doesn’t always mean good. For instance, the steak sandwich includes a solid steak that has not had the fat trimmed off on a French roll. It was unpleasant to deal with the fat and gristle, uncut, chewy and tough steak. On the same sandwich, the tomatoes were very over-ripe to the point of tasting rotten. I would have returned it but I was with a group of ten people on a limited time lunch, and the service was so slow with infrequent check-ins, that I just didn’t have the time. At the same lunch visit, three of my coworkers had wrong or missing parts of their orders. One ordered soup and salad, but the soup never arrived despite two requests. Another had ordered steak salad but got chicken instead. A third ordered pasta with white sauce, but got red sauce. Again, it took so long for the food to come out that these errors didn’t get corrected. Once the food was dropped off, the wait staff became distant. On another visit I ordered the prime rib sandwich, and the meat was well done and dry; not at all what one would expect. When I further inquired if it would be possible to get another with less cooked prime rib, the waiter said that it only was available well done. I could go on about disappointments like the nondistinctive cesar salad, but I’d like to end on a high note… The baked oyster appetizer is fantastic. On the day I had it they were serving Apalachicola oysters; they were sublime.

Tried this place completely by accident and so glad I did! I am in ABSOLUTELOVE with their salmon salad minus the buttery croissant. I have only gotten the salad as a take away after pilates or whilst headed back into the office, but will definitely have to come back with My better half and have a sit down meal SOON!

Jeff is just about the best server you’ll ever have he remembers you and your quirks. I came in about an hour early for a business lunch he didn’t mind at all brought me everything I could have ever wanted, as nice as always a true gentleman. When you go ask for Jeff you’ll be pleasantly surprised that excellent customer service is alive and well

We’ve eat here at least one per week for two years. Excellent food and consistent service. Always pleasant. Never a bad time here. My favorites are the ribeye, BBQ chicken sandwich, apple and key lime pie.

First off, we arrived early in the evening(close to 6pm) and didn’t have to wait for a table for two. Although by around 6:45 the place was filing up fast, so make reservations or arrive early people! We were sitting within eye/earshot of the bar, and got to enjoy the antics of the bartender a bit too before it got really busy. Our server, Lorne, was very polite, professional, and friendly. He only came to ask how things were through the appetizers and once again during the meal, which to me is perfect. He kept drinks on the table discreetly and quickly, not interrupting our meal/conversation which is the way I like it, attentive, yet not intrusive. We started out with the Beefsteak Tomatoes with fresh mozzarella and basil with the balsamic drizzle. They were cut in THICK slabs and were very tasty and firm(3 servings total). We were torn between appetizer choices and also tried the lobster ravioli which there were 4 in the appetizer, and more than enough to get a good taste for the both of us, and not get filled up too much. The timing could not have been more spot on, as soon as we were finishing with our appetizers, the plates were cleared and our salads were set on the table. And let me tell you, those croissants are like little flaky pillows from heaven. I have had bacon/honey mustard dressing before, but not like this. This actually had less honey flavor and more of a true ground mustard bite to it, which I liked. By the time we had finished our salads, our drinks had been refilled(I had a spicy bloody mary to start off as well, and it was mixed perfectly) and then the prime rib hit the table. My friend chose the 16oz portion MR, I had the 10oz M, both with creamed spinach(which has an unusual spiciness to it I couldn’t place that made me want to know sinct it was delicious). Most of the time you get a little smattering of horseradish with prime rib, but this was served with au jus and it was cooked to perfection. I think they may have been a bit happy on the cuts because mine seemed more like a 12 and his was more like an 18⁄20 because they were both HUGE. I ate every last bit of mine(even the fatty parts people squirm over) and my friend could barely finish his. You could tell that it had been properly aged/seasoned and was treated well. Overall it was a very excellent meal, excellent service, and very generous portions for the price. We will be returning for sure!

After waiting at our table for 15 minutes including flagging down a hostess asking where our server was, our party of four left to find a place that would at least acknowledge our existence. I told the manager on the way out what had happened only to get a blank stare and no response. It’s a shame, seemed like a great bar and decent food.

Came here for a birthday /work lunch. I wasn’t impressed by their tuna salad and my stomach was hurting from it afterwards. The inside had old fashioned décor. They were just opening up and part of my salad was frozen. Service was slow as well. Won’t be coming back again.

My husband went here while on a business trip. He sat at the bar and ordered the Bone-in rib eye medium-rare, and the corned beef potato salad as the side. First off the bar tenders Danny and Rebecca were amazing, nice and friendly, necer leaving you hanging for more than 5 – 7 minutes. He ordered his bourbon neat and he pours were 2oz exact, no more no less and came out quickly. Food came out within 10mins, cooked to order, medium rare. He did mention the steak did not have a lot of flavor and needed A-1 sauce to complement, we usually dont use sauce on our steak. The corned beef potato salad was decent, nothing to write home about, just decent. Overall 5 stars due to great service. When we go back I hope the meat is better, maybe just a bad cut. Also, huge drink selection, massive bar with a lot of liquor.

This place was seriously horrible. I never EVER write reviews unless a place really stands out. My fiancée ordered a steak that was $ 34 and it was burnt on the outside and red on the inside. My giant prime rib was good, but the nonchalant reactions from both the server and manager when we mentioned our steak was condescending and unapologetic. The service was truly disgraceful. A good manager would have at least apologized. They did comp one meal, but their hospitality was comparable to their cold, burnt, and tasteless steak.

I didn’t love this place. Service was so-so, menu was pricey, food was under seasoned. It was packed, though. I’m not sure if it’s a trendy place for 30 somethings around here or if it was because it’s across from a large hotel. It’s ok, but really, just a solid 3 stars.

Made reservations and explained we would need to be seated on time due to having a eight months pregnant diner.. Was told no problem. Arrived on time. Host and hostess never smiled and were aloof. Asked if all 4 were present. I explained the 4 Tj in our party was stuck in traffic but three were there and we needed to have the pregnant diner sit Would they sit the three of us and we were met with Stoney face and told NO. Waited a few minutes because it was not overly crowded and asked again. No. Again no smiles no hospitality. I will not return

Best She Crab in town! The staff is friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is even better! It can be a little crowded and tight at times, but the great food makes up for it! I definetely recommend this place if you’re in the Dunwoody area!

Service was friendly but not great. The timing of courses is off. The policy on not seating reservations until all of your party is there, sucks, because they allow walk-ins to sit and eat at bar. So there isn’t any room to grab a drink and app while you wait. The wine selection is minimal, but ok. Had a decent Malbec anyway. The prime rib and the filet were fatty, like really fatty. Plus had to send back one of the steaks, as it wasn’t cooked right. The croissants are good. Placesettings, if your table orders an app, fork; salad, fork; entrée, fork. Check to make sure your people have forks to eat their entrees, 2 forks doesn’t cut it with a 4 course meal. Dessert selection was very limited. I think they had more liquor coffee drinks than desserts. Actually, I think they had more cigars than desserts. :/ And don’t get me started on the bathrooms. It was ok, but I won’t be back. I guess maybe for lunch it would be ok. If you’re trying to impress a client or a date, not the place.

In my opinion, Joey D’s is a bit overrated. There’s nothing wrong with the food — it’s just not as awesome as they like to think. There’s not much innovation in the menu so each time I wind up getting the same thing. The service is usually good… but there’s so much choice in the area that good service isn’t a compelling reason to pick a restaurant. I want relaxed… welcoming…interesting menu… Joey D’s is a bit like your Uncle George — nice guy, never changes his outlook or worldview and lives and dies in the same town in which he was born. Not saying that’s a bad thing — just saying that’s not the environment I look for. A significant problem is the parking — the lot is small and it can be very difficult to get a parking space unless you arrive around 11:30.

Had our company Holiday party here for a couple years now and when calling to make our usual reservation, we were told that groups of 20 or larger were no longer accommodated in the month of December. Joey Ds must be booming to turn away and decline a reservation of over 30 people on a Tuesday night. This is very bad business and we have now permanently changed our Holiday party location and personally, I will never eat here again. I hope that this business reconsiders this change.

Everything was top notch. The service was excellent, and the food amazing. I had the lobster ravioli with a caesar salad, and my date had the prime rib with a house salad and loaded baked potato. We almost always have left overs everywhere we go, but we both finished every bite and that’s not due to portion sizes; it was just that delicious. My favorite was the appetizer — oyster shots. They were so good! The restaurant was also very beautiful on the inside. Our first time here, and we will definitely be back!

Very unique experience! My salad was great! The buttery croissant was out of this world! The prime rib was amazing! I was full to the max and only ate half of it. This man with the hat behind the bar named Danny was incredible! He insisted that I didn’t like it because I didn’t finish it. He was adamant I don’t pay. I tried and tried my best to convince him other wise. I would recommend this place to any and everyone. Great food! Great people! Great ownership! Thank you Danny«the gentleman with the hat»!!!

Wow! This was one of the worst steaks I have ever had. I friend told me to order the Bone-in Ribeye. I ordered it medium rare. It was charred crispy on the out side and I had to struggle to find any red meat. Just a thin strip of pink of a mostly grey, dead looking steak. The server never asked how it was and I was with a large group so I just ate half and downed my green beans and the honey buttered croissants. The crab appetizer is also pretty poor. Very tough and chewy. One in our group loved the shrimp app. The Sword fish was also overlooked . This was a Monday night, so maybe the B-team was cooking??? My glass was crusted with baked on food particles and one of my forks had a Splenda wrapper piece dried on to the handle. Don’t know how the server could have missed that while assembling the roll-up ???

This place is very classy and I have always wanted to go here. Maybe because I have been aware of it my whole life and my dad said it was for grown ups. Well now Im a grown up and I can do what I want. I do see why my dad said it was for grown ups though. Its most definitely a good place to bring a date. There is a nice patio outside but my boyfriend and I did not want to sit there with all the loud noisy cars going by and to our surprise there was a HUGE bar. It was amazing I have honestly never seen anything like that before. It was at least two stories full of alcohol. They had a push ladder and it was just so cool. The bar tenders were very nice and took good care of us. The buttered croissants were very yummy. Soft and warm. The Salmon was amazing but I did not like the coleslaw. It was very soupy… Not my style. I will say that this place is on my list to go back to though.

This place deserves at least four stars, definitely more than the three-and-a-half at the time of this review. I’ve been to Joey D’s a handful of times and every time has been enjoyable. Usually we go to Joey D’s for lunch while shopping around the Perimeter, and we’ve never left hungry or unsatisfied. Usually you can just sit down right away for lunch, as the restaurant itself is a big, airy single room with ample seating. I’ve been for dinner a couple of times and reservations are a good idea. The décor could be described as steakhouse casual. Think fancy log cabin, not romantic or luxurious. Dress is casual, clientele is diverse. You certainly don’t need a jacket here and you can definitely get away with nice jeans. You could probably even get away with not-nice jeans here, honestly, but keep it clean and crisp for Joey D’s. One of the great things about this place is that you get a lot for your money. This situation is rare: You can actually order two full sized entrees, which come with appetizer salads, and a bottle of wine and leave for around $ 100 with tip. Bottles of wine start in the low $ 20s price-wise, which is almost unheard of these days. You could even pull it off for a bit less if you don’t get a steak, or booze. I’ve had the chopped steak, the filet and the NY strip and they are all delicious. Sides are good but nothing is really memorable. Here’s a little protip: Don’t leave without trying a honey butter croissant. However, you don’t need to order the appetizer to get them. If you order an entrée, you’ll get a house salad with one of them on the side — and that’s probably all you’ll need.

Joey D’s Oak Room has some pretty amazing items on their menu. But I only go to them for one thing the finest corn beef in Atlanta. Their 7 and 13 ounce sandwich will truly bring a tear to a cornbeef and pastrami nut. The most beautiful succulent juicy delicious both in taste, flavor profile and appearance. And the fact these people are maybe the first to actually give you enough pickle to go with a wonderful corned beef sandwich. They take 13 ounces of gently cooked lean juicy corned beef piled high and roll it into a giant meat roll and gently and lovingly place it between two pieces of Jewish rye bread served with the whole dill pickle, not a spear. I can’t expose the wonderfulness of the seven ounce sandwich because I’ve never settled for it I’ve always gone for the monster and it is never over the years ever ever failed me. 100% consistent product, every time. I think this Thursday I’m treating myself to one. Trust me you can’t go wrong here. Worth the drive. My daughters favorite their. Open faced Reuben sandwich, a Mt. Vesuvius of flavor. I’m guessing at least the 7 Oz with all the right succulents of Swiss cheese, tangy sauerkraut, and 1000 island dressing, piled high looking like a volcano on a plate. Their Oyster shooters are also very delightful. Shot glass juiced with lemon juice, 1 clean plump oyster, dropped in topped with volital cocktail sauce and splash of Absolut Peppar. Easy slamming deliciousness.

I didn’t know that this restaurant is owned by the same folks who own California Dreaming. I used to go to that restaurant a lot in SC, and the croissants were always a fave of mine. So it was a pleasant surprise to find those same croissants at Joey D’s Oak Room. When my friend mentioned meeting up here for lunch, I didn’t know what to expect. I thought Joey D was someone from the Jersey Shore or something. But we walked into a nice establishment and were provided with great service. The she-crab soup was yummy, and the salad I ordered was fresh and delicious. Of course, the croissants were awesome. This restaurant has become one of the places I like to visit when I’m on this side of town.

I’ve passed Joey D’s numerous times with it being so close to my job and my friend telling me this was her favorite restaurant. I had looked at the menu more than once online and often see a great number of cars whenever I ride by. My friend recommended the honey butter croissants so I got that as an appetizer. I ordered the prime rib with a baked potato and it came with a salad. My salad came out first. Thirty seconds later, my salad came. Before I could take my third bite my steak and potato were on the table! I couldn’t even enjoy my appetizer and salad before the main course was in front of me. Fast service, yes but sheesh. My steak was lukewarm and it wasn’t the best. I was so upset. My waiter was so dry and uninvolved as well. I really wanted to like this place but I couldn’t. The food wasn’t great. My boyfriend’s meal was so bland it was almost disgusting. I won’t be back. The ambiance is wonderful here, though.

Honestly, I don’t quite understand the hype with this restaurant. I visited for the first time with colleagues during lunch. I started with the She Crab Soup, which was lukewarm and had the strangest consistency ever. This is considered a signature of the restaurant, really? Also, the House Salad had an identity crisis with the ingredients… how do you get that wrong, I wonder. Anyway, I didn’t finish it. The entire table shared the Beefsteak Tomatoes, meh. Finally, myself and another guest had the blandest Sea Bass imaginable. On the bright side, it was a clean dish… just completely missing flavor. Service was really good, though. So, that was a plus and the only reason for two stars. Anyway, I won’t be coming back here… there are just too many great places to eat in Atlanta. Happy Eating!

I’ve been here maybe 4−6x — enough to win me over. Solid place to have lunch, happy hour, and dinner. I also think it’s a nice place to have a date night and formal dinners. Parking — The lot isn’t bad at all. You’ll see people going in and going out consistently so spots open often. I’ve personally never had trouble. Seating and Space — Joey D’s is HUGE. I never have to do a RSVP. I think once my company took us here on a weeknight and there were like 10 of us. Joey D’s easily accommodated us even when they had a full house. Did I mention their Bar area is really pretty? Wish I took a pic of it. Definitely one of the prettiest bar settings I’ve seen here in Atlanta. It’s the main center piece. I feel like whenever I walk into Joey D’s, I’m walking into a fancy Country Club. Get ready to get Wined and Dined! Service — I’ve had some good ones and ok ones. Most of them were attentive. I think I had 1 guy wear weird red glasses(they looked a little party-ish) when I had a client lunch here. Now, I’m not one to bash a waiter’s appearance, but red glasses that look a little to festive should not be worn. Wear those on your off hours/when you’re not working in a fancy restaurant. I guess that’s my only peeve. If I were here with my bf, family, or friends, I wouldn’t care. But in that one instance — I didn’t like it. Food– I’ve enjoyed their chicken salad with the honey croissant. YUM. It also comes in very good portions. The lettuce was fresh, dressing was great, and the chicken was solid. If you like to have light lunches, this isn’t a bad choice. Steak — MMMM. I rarely eat steak, so this was a nice treat. My steaks have been done very well and had really good flavor. Each steak I’ve had was juicy. I’m drooling just thinking about it. The way they grill them stands out to me.(I’m not a steak expert, so. don’t take this too seriously). Even though I don’t heavily get steak often, Joey D’s ranks maybe Top 4 for me.

Joey D’s is a popular lunch spot for the many, many office workers in the area. Being one of them, I’ve only come here for lunch. I haven’t yet had anything that really wowed me, but I’ve been pleased with the items I’ve tried. I do like the steak sandwich, which comes with fries. The steak was a thin-ish cut of beef, topped with Swiss(I substituted Cheddar), lettuce, and tomato. The French bread was good but the fries were pretty boring. I’ve also had the burger, which is pretty solid. The food is a wee bit pricey, in my opinion. Service, however, is very good. No complaints there. The ambiance is good-ol-boys-club, with lots of wood décor and smartly-dressed waiters. There is a patio that overlooks the parking lot and beyond that, the busy Perimeter Center W road. Overall, a fine place to eat. If I could give 3.5 stars, I would.
