Found this Restaurant by accident while traveling through Atlanta loved the food haven’t been this full in a long time. We ordered off the Chinese menu the Peking duck was awesome but for me the peppercorn pork chop was the highlight off the meal.

Try the noodle soup with roasted pork. Outrageously good. The pot stickers are great too.

First time I was here, we were celebrating a dear friend’s Birthday dinner. We ordered the family style dinner package for about 15ppl/table. I was not pleased with the food after the first couple dishes… the lobster was the 2nd that came out. It’s one of my favorite seafood but, it was too salty. The first was fish maw soup with crab meat. It was pretty bland… Needless to say, I had lost my appetite after the 3rd dish. Though, it didn’t help sitting in between a super model & bride to be. I was told that they had pretty good dim sum. So, I had given it a second chance with some. I was amazed of how yummy they were compared to the regular dishes. From then on, I would recommend ordering dim sum here all the way!

Years ago back in 2013, I worked in the Faulkner Rd. area and I frequented this restaurant at least 3 or 4 times per month. I always bought a lot of food and tipped well until they started having plumbing issues. At that point the restaurant began to resemble the scent of a backed up septic tank /overrun toilet and the pungent, very gross odor began to permeate the dining area where we ate our moderately priced, fair tasting food. So to put it mildly, the odor of the restaurant was NOT very enticing ATALL! For that reason I placed H.K.H. on a timeout while they got their«ish» together… or so I thought! Fast forward to 2016, where once again I work in the vicinity of this restaurant. I have always had it in the back of my mind to revisit so when I got off work one night last week and was hungry, I decided that I would give Hong Kong Harbour another try. I stopped, walked into the restaurant and was promptly greeted not by a manager, owner, host /ess, cashier or even a busboy but by what… you guessed it, that foul, stank ass odor!!! That was strike #1! When someone finally did come to the front, they didn’t even bother to acknowledge my presence; overlooked me and went right to the guy that had walked in 5 minutes after I did! REALLY?! WTF? Ok cool, Strike #2! Then they took dudes order and payment without even as much to me as a hello, welcome to rotten ass Hong Kong harbour sir. Please wait a moment while I completely ignore you and think about whether or not I want your money or business! Strike 3 through 1000! Your assess are out… ALLTHEWAYOUT! I didn’t cause a scene or react, I simply took my black ass and green dollars to another more suitable restaurant. Read into it what you will but I know the value and power of my dollars, frequency of patronage, social media commentaries /reviews and word-of-mouth recommendations; of which the first 2, H.K.H. Will not get from me again. I will not spend my hard earned money in a place that not only smells like a tragic toilet catastrophe but also, in MYOPINION, severely falls flat on basic customer service and respect. To that I say, NEVERAGAINHONGKONGHARBOUR! You will not see one more penny of my money. You get 1 star only because I couldn’t give you a zero in all fairness.

I must preface this review by saying that I do not come to Hong Kong Harbour for dim sum. There are much better places in Atlanta for dim sum on Buford Hwy. We come here for dinner on their regular menu when we have a big group. They probably have the most authentic Chinese menu in-town. I love the lazy susans and they allow for the group to eat family style and try a variety of different dishes. I have tried a huge variety of dishes. Here are some of my favorites: Filet Mignon Hong Kong Style on Hot Pan(I could eat this every time) Eggplant with Garlic Sauce(I could eat this every time) Roast Pork with Hong Kong Wonton(SOUP) Beef Fried Noodles Fried Beef Chow Ho Fun with Shy Dan Sauce Pork Fried Noodles They also have some decent basic Americanized Chinese dishes like: Mongolian Beef Szechuan Beef General Tso’s Chicken Orange Beef Salt and Pepper(Shrimp, Squid, Scallops) I have never had a bad visit to Hong Kong Harbour. It is not the best Chinese in town, but it is definitely not as bad as most of the reviews make it out to be.

I really wanted Unilocalers to be wrong on this one since it’s so close to my place but no, you were all right. This place really deserves 2.5 stars. The sui Mai and ha gau were pretty bad. I took some friends here and I felt like I disappointed them. Should have gone to Canton House instead. Everything had very little flavors and we’re kind of dried. When you walk in, there is a really bad smell to the restaurant and my water glass was filthy. This place really needs some TLC. I’vr had a lot of fun sum in my life and this place really didn’t cut it.

Probably the worst experience I’ve ever had at any Chinese restaurant in my entire life. It started with the tea, too strong and not sweet. The handmade pot stickers were flavorless and made with too much dough. The general tso chicken was not spicy at all and after a few bites I got a mouthful of gristle. Disgusting. All that aside, I literally stared down our waiter for 20 minutes and got completely ignored. My friend and I had to go up to the counter to pay our check. Needless to say, we won’t be going back.

Felt like some dim sum so we ate here last night. It was horrid! Got sick. Won’t give it another chance. Greasy, not fresh. Still have an headache and upset stomach this morning.

We have been trying to find a decent dim sum place inside the perimeter and unfortunately still haven’t found one. The service here is actually great and this restaurant would be great for people that don’t speak Chinese or new to dim sum. It falls below expectations for its variety of offerings and the freshness of its food. The restaurant is not busy so it is probably not practical for them to make a lot of food. So they adjust for this by making just 2 – 3 servings of each dish. However, the turnover is low so it seems like the food has been sitting out or in the steamer for awhile. You can also tell that a number of the dishes have been reheated numerous times. For example, the banana leaf rice was hard as a rock and had no oil left in it — this is a clear sign that the dish had been reheated a ridiculous amount of times. The prices are high for the quality of food and is as follows: Small: 2.95 Medium: 4.25 Large: 6.95 Tea: $ 2 We had the siu mai, shrimp dumpling, pork and vegetable dumplings, bean curd rolls, baked BBQ pork buns, baked custard buns, banana leaf rice wrap, quail egg pork dumpling, fried tofu with shrimp paste, and pork and noodle(wonton like) dumpling. I judge a lot of dim sum places by the siu mai and har gow because those are some of the staple dim sum dishes. The siu mai was not good. It’s didn’t look good and didn’t taste good. However, the buns were warm and fresh out of the oven so that was a plus. However, the BBQ pork buns were overly salty. The various dumpling dishes were ok. The wonton like dumplings were the best. The pork and vegetable dumplings were kind of nasty. Overall, this is an option for dim sum inside the perimeter. It’s not great but I don’t have recommendations for a better place ITP yet. Make a trek out down Buford highway if you want decent dim sum.

If you live in Atlanta, then you probably have no idea where to find good dim sum. Perhaps you are sitting at a table right now in Hong Kong Harbour, reading this review. Be glad you stopped in if they are pushing carts around. The dim sum is as good as you’ll find on the east coast outside of NYC. They don’t always have everything(I’m still waiting on them to serve up xiao long bao, «little soup dumplings»), but what they do have is great food and friendly service. If you are looking for something specific and they have it, just ask one of the staff, and they will personally bring it out, and bring it out fresh. Try the — pork bun, «char siu bao» — shrimp dumpling, «har gao» — pork dumpling, «siu mai» — sticky rice — pot stickers, «guo tie» — shrimp rice noodle roll, «chee cheong fun» — taro root puff, «wu gohk» However, as a white guy, I could be completely off base and lack a complete and total grasp of how good dim sum should be, but if you want good food and aren’t put off by the interior and exterior of the restaurant itself, then you’ve come to the right place. Chi hao!

Does it smell a little«different?» Yes(but it’s not overwhelming). Does that smell remind me of Hong Kong? Absolutely. If you can’t handle it, this place isn’t for you, and you probably don’t like legit Asian food anyway. The dim sum was ONPOINT — absolutely amazing! The tea made me feel like I was sitting in a restaurant looking at Victoria Harbor. The pan fried noodles were great! The pork… eh, could have used some work, but it could have been an off day. I’ll definitely go back!

Too many better options to choose from. Delivery driver asked if he could piss in my bathroom and cussed me out when I said no. Second time he delivered to a nearby company parking lot and told me to meet him at a different location. Food soso at best. Not worth the hassle.

This is a great local Chinese place. I always come for dim sum when in town. By no means is it a fancy place but usually the best Chinese places are not.

OK… When you walk in it smells like piss… No seriously like an ammonia pissy smell reminiscent of downtown Atlanta where the Homeless just piss on the walls. Not sure what Creative Loafing was thinking when they named this place Best Chinese in Atlanta. Maybe that is why people dont read their paper anymore!

The atmosphere os not the best here but the food is really good. My absolute favorite is the Roasted Duck noodle soup with Hong Kong wontons. Just a mix of tender duck, bok choi and noodles.

I’m very impressed by this restaurant. A friend of mine strongly recommended this and at first I was a little unsure as I see the ratings on Unilocal. But it turned out to be a great experience after all. I ordered BBQ pork bun and it’s the best pork bun I’ve had in the us. The meat is plenty and fresh. The sweetness and sauce is just right. I’ve got nothing to complain about the shrimp dumplings. I also ordered spare ribs, they were not amazing but we’re decent. I would not recommend chicken feet though, the taste was not pleasant. Their roast duck is a must try. Delicious. The beef nom is delicious too, with fried rice. In short, I’m very satisfied with this restaurant. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area and are craving dim sum. I would say try anything they have on the menu and I bet it would not too bad. A plus is that they are open until midnight so a great place for late night take out or delivery!

Hong Kong Harbour enjoys a convenient location on Cheshire Bridge, floating high above the din of the city on a sort of «sky island» ensconced in clouds and kept airborne by a network of machinery powered, most likely, by emeralds. Parking can be tricky, so maybe Über. The most immediate redeeming quality about this place are the hours. In my case, I blew in during the wee hours of a rain-swept weeknight when all things holy should be asleep. Service came from a skeleton crew staff who, despite appearing to have died at some point earlier in the day, remained animated and gregarious throughout the meal service. I had some pork buns and dim sum which, at the hour, were divine morsels. Indeed, I could feel the evil purged from my bones with every bite of the cartoon red pork and spurious shrimp wonton soup. The tab was criminally low, all things considered. After the meal was finished, my associate and I were the last people in the restaurant. Our server was consumed by a shadow and the only figure left was an old dude, probably from the kitchen, banging on an iron bell and emitting a long low groan, likely calling dark spirits of the night into the vessel before locking up. Very nice ambience. Would return.

Ambience: This place looks like it could use a complete décor update. The restaurant walls and exterior look super old school. Even the glasses aren’t dirty but look old when scratches on them. Food: The dimsum is not too great. The shrimp dumplings, and shumai, and dumplings were all stuck together and hard to separate without ripping off the skin. Chinese Broccoli — This was pretty good but I wish it came with oyster sauce. Fried chicken — This was also not bad. The skin is quite crispy, but the meat is a bit dry. It comes with a side of salt and pepper to dip in. Service: They only had about 2 – 3 carts for dimsum. A girl was pushing one cart and I think the owner(woman) was pushing another cart. There wasn’t that much of a variety either. There was one waiter waiting on us and so sometimes it was hard to flag him down to order dishes and for water. The girl pushing a cart was nice and said she would get him for us. When we asked who I think is the husband of the woman pushing the cart around to order dishes he told us to ask the waiter instead of helping us. This seems like a location that only people in the area would go to for its location instead of the quality. If you want better dimsum and you live in the Lindbergh area, then take 5 more minutes to drive to the Chinatown area.

In a word: Buh. I used to really like this place. Once upon a time, Hong Kong Harbour was one of the few places in Atlanta that did dim-sum. And it was good. And to be fair, I didn’t have the dim sum this last visit. But I’m not sure I’d want to go back. The place looks, for lack of a better description, grubby. And it smelled musty. It was weird. I was with my friends and ten minutes after I arrived I became sick. Sick as in: I couldn’t eat my Hunan Chicken because I was afraid I would not be able to keep it down(and some other parasympathetic responses). So I went to the men’s room and found the floor was slick and slippery, smelling vaguely of urine, and… Gross. This did nothing for my nausea. Miserable. Ten minutes after I left, my malaise strangely disappeared. Weird. I hope Hong Kong Harbor figures out how to fix whatever is ailing that building. But I fear they may have jumped the shark.

I feel a moral obligation to inform folks about how bad this place is. I understand that I cannot use NYC standards to judge Chinese food in Atlanta. I get that we have a much smaller Chinese population and a much much smaller population of folks who know about Chinese food generally. But seriously, this food is borderline criminal. We went and ordered a Tom Kha Gai. A traditional Thai Soup. I asked the server, what she would recommend and she said this was her favorite.(Which I found out later was true, but she did not mean her favorite on this menu, just in general.) I was up front that I had just come from NYC and had high standards. Soup comes out and it’s red and tomato based. Really. Tomato based. I was like I am so sorry, did you bring me the wrong soup. No. OK. Like where does on your menu or literally anywhere else in life did you think I wanted a tomato based soup. Like where is the coconut, lemon grass, kaffir, etc. Like where is the soup. That’s fatal. Honestly, there is no way that can happen. Unfortunately, that was an omen for the rest of the poor quality poor tasting meal. I think that they stay in business because there are a lot of folks, who like take out, who either don’t know how bad this is or don’t know better. I’ve done my part to solve that problem. If you are looking for decent Chinese food, Cheshire Bridge is not likely to have it. Head to Bobo’s Garden’s, Chef Lius, any of the places in Atlanta’s China Town. Not here.

I dig it! We’ve eaten from here twice now; the first occasion involved some(surprisingly) marvelous late-night takeout; the second time we dined in around 8pm on a Sunday night. FOOD: Overall, legit. 4⁄5 Pork fried rice: Tasty! 5⁄5. I admit I’m not too discerning when it comes to fried rice, since it seems honestly very difficult to mess up unless you somehow overcook the rice or add some ingredients that seriously don’t belong in there or have a strange texture. Speaking of which… Chicken fried rice: 3⁄5. The rice itself was fine, and was accompanied by your run of the mill fried rice ingredients such as chopped carrots, peas, and scrambled eggs… HOWEVER the chicken had a really strange, super chewy texture that we weren’t fond of at all – while clearly the cubes of meat were not pure fat, that’s sure what they felt like as we chewed them. I’ve experienced similar in a few other Chinese restaurants, but that doesn’t make it any more palatable. Vegetable lo mein: 5⁄5. Honestly, I pretty much never order anything that remotely labels itself as «lo mein»… Maybe it’s because«lo mein»(along with Kung Pao Chicken) seem to be the dish of choice in clueless American pop culture, or maybe just because lo mein is just so PREDICTABLE: a greasy pile of noodles with the same old baby corn, snow peas, carrots, and bamboo shoots that come from a can. I was pleasantly surprised, though, but HK’s lo mein! While the veggie mix is pretty much what I expected, the noodles actually had an appropriate amount of oil and seasoning. Steamed dumplings: 4⁄5. Note that an order of this comes with six(!!) dumplings, which is pretty generous for the price! The dumplings appeared to be handmade, with particularly thick, chewy skins and very large portions of pork and cabbage filling. These are the bf’s favorite dumplings in Atlanta to date, but I actually preferred the flavor and texture of Doc Chey’s. Still good, though! SERVICE: 5⁄5 Our waitress was SO sweet. She kept checking in on us and reminding us to «Take your time!» with ordering, with eating, etc… Yum. Will return soon!

This was the worst food experience in EVER. I don’t say this lightly. Normally, I am the picky one and my husband would eat just about everything, but this experience shed new light. We ordered Eggdrop soup with chicken and corn, Shrimp Fried Rice, and another dish with fried noodles with a seafood mixture(I can’t think of the name of the dish). My husband did not like any of the dishes and the only thing I enjoyed was the eggdrop soup with the fried wontons. There was no flavor in the other two dishes. We added soy sauce, chilli sauce, and another sweet sauce that was on the table. Nothing worked and we gave up trying to bring flavor and took the dishes home. I don’t know if they were training a new cook or what, but I will never be back. From my pictures, we took almost the whole dishes home. The prices are reasonable and the service was decent.

Awesome Dim Sum! Great prices, though it is all calculated in Chinese, so I wasn’t sure the price of any of the items. Had the shrimp dumplings, pork dumplings, spring roll, crab rangoon, pork potstickers, and hot tea.
