I had the General Tso’s chicken. It included a LOT of chicken. I liked the texture of the fried chicken. The sauce was not that impressive. It should have been a bit spicier. You walk in, they take your order, they deliver it to your table on Styrofoam plates, you clean up your own table and pay on your way out. No one is visiting your table. It’s not bad service but very simple and efficient.

This is my «go to» takeout Chinese restaurant. The food is consistently good, the people taking orders and serving are sweet. The kitchen is galley style, so you can watch them cook your food from scratch. If you’re there during non-busy times, you can see them in the back prepping everything. Another thing that’s awesome: if you have favorite dish that’s not on the menu, if you can describe it and they have the ingredients, they’ll make it. Finally, always very ample portions. You’ll be full! My favs: won ton soup(perfect when you have a cold!) house special lo mein, sesame chicken. Chicken wings are good too! No sauce, very tasty and juicy!

Ordered a large General Tso chicken on my first visit here. What a mistake. The food was a weird lukewarm temp at pick up and I could tell right away I wasn’t going to be pleased. The chicken is oddly chewy. Like one nickel sized piece takes forever to chew. The breading is extremely thick and it’s barely any meat inside. The meat you do find is of a gray hue. Yuck. The chicken has no spice and tastes more like orange or sesame chicken. The white rice is just that. Rice. Nothing special as expected. I wouldn’t eat here again and I trashed my meal after two bites. You get what you pay for and looks are EXTREMELY deceiving.

I’ll say this… this is the only Chinese place that I’ve gone to more than once since moving to Atlanta a year ago, and I’ve been several times. In the interest of full disclosure, I can walk here from my apartment, so the convenience factor is a big player. With that being said, the food is halfway decent and not too bad for takeout Chinese. It’s also a great value, and you get a lot for what little money you have to spend. Food is usually ready in ten minutes or less, and the girls up front are polite. Nothing here is going to blow you away, but if you want consistently decent and affordable Chinese takeout, you’re pretty safe going here. Like I said, every other place I’ve tried in this area hasn’t been worth going back to.

Hop Shing is our neighborhood Chinese takeout joint. If you are looking for authentic Asian cuisine, you’ll be better served at one of the fine family-owned restaurants on Buford Highway. If you want a fast Chinese fix with plentiful portions, Hop Shing is a terrific place. Favorites are the bean curd with mixed vegetables, steamed dumplings, hot and sour soup, and General Tso’s chicken.

I used to live nearby here, and my mom would always pick up food here for us to eat. It’s in a really convenient location, although they don’t have delivery. Their lunch specials are good. I got the Mongolian chicken with white rice, hot and sour soup for $ 8. Everything tasted fine, although they kinda did skimp on the pieces of chicken. A lot of vegetables, good sauce, and a generous portion of rice. Their lo mein is very good, yet their fried rice is so-so. I’ve felt like it’s bland and lacks flavor. Otherwise, they are good and great if you’re in a hurry and want some quick Chinese food.

Four stars for a super convenient location. No, they don’t deliver but who cares? I can have everything I ordered in my house in 20 minutes flat where as most delivery places take an hour or more! Since most strip mall Chinese places tend to taste the same, I make my judgements on their dumplings. If the meat inside is gray and flavorless — I won’t order again. Hop Shing’s dumplings are surprisingly tasty and have me coming back. You can’t beat the prices either… they’re everything a take out place should be. Consistent, cheap and yummy!

This place is one of the worst places I’ve had Chinese food. I ordered food here it took about 5 minutes to get my order which is a good thing but a bad thing at a Chinese restaurant. When I took my food home it was disgusting, the fried rice looked weird the gravy had an odd smell and the crab ragon didn’t look normal. Be careful eating here.

I love this place! I always take out and the people are very friendly and fast with your food I always call when I’m leaving work and they always acknowledge me when I come through the door. I never have a problem with the food. It’s always so good. I’m about to go there now.

As I wheeled my cart full of groceries to my car from Publix I decided I no longer wanted to cook and this was literally next door. I stepped in, browsed the menu, and was greeted… well sort of by a teenage girl. Maybe she was on duty because school is out for the holidays, or it was after school hours but there were quite a few kids who«worked» there. A very young girl politely brushed rice all over my shoes as she wiped down the table. I digress. I ordered the shrimp with mixed vegetable combo to go, it came with fried rice and an egg roll. I had heard such great things about this restaurant and wanted to REALLY enjoy it. Maybe my expectations were too high because it was very mediocre. It reminded me of Asian meals in the frozen section. I will say you do get a pretty big portion but again it’s mediocre. Maybe next time I’ll try something different on the menu and love it.

I took a gamble and ordered to-go from here and was happily and pleasantly surprised. I had a very short window of time to eat a quick meal before heading out of town and not wanting to eat something terribly unhealthy, I decided to run into the Publix in the same shopping center. It was around 4:30pm and everything on the Publix hot bar looked like it had been baking under the heat lamp since the morning. I took a chance and walked over to Hop Shing and quickly decided to order a black pepper chicken. Wow, I could not get over how great it tasted. The ingredients were fresh and crisp, and the sauce was just spicy and sweet enough to make the whole dish uuuber delicious. Maybe it’s a fluke, maybe I was just really hungry, but for a whopping 7 bucks, I am excited to try it again!
