Where shopping is a pleasure, NOTTHISONE! I only shop here because of the convenience. A few of the cashiers obviously don’t appreciate their jobs from my previous experiences here. So… the cashier was checking out groceries for two ladies in front of me. I was next in line but she continued to talk to her co-worker about how she like to know one of the two ladies’ life stories of 93 years even after they walked away; it’s all cool with me so far. So I turned to grab something really quick from the checkout line stand in the back. At the very second the cashier raised her voice and said:” are you ready?” AND«you can take them out!» I totally forgot that I still had my stuff in the basket. Meanwhile, she was greeting to this man next in line, but no hello nor thank you to me for the whole time. Let’s say that she forgot the basics, and I just found it interesting that the two ladies and the man next in line were the same race as her, such a coincidence! 04/25/2015, 7:49pm, Cashier named Deborah as written on the receipt, she flipped over the receipt to me, and that was it. I can deal with no greetings and no smiles, but give ppl bad attitudes when ppl are buying from you! I’ll just go to Walmart 3 miles away with lower unit prices, and who cares about bad attitudes for more savings hahaha.

I’m not sure why this Publix shows up in my Unilocal results as closed — it’s most definitely open, and a place I visit about three times a week. I live in the neighborhood, and there’s never been a time I’ve been into this Publix without one or more of the employees saying hello/offering help while I shop(in a non-overbearing way). The staff is always really friendly and happy to help.

Similar to Duc L.‘s review, it’s a smaller Publix than the norm, and also the lack of a pharmacy is a huge turn off. Roomie’s BF needed to get a prescription filled, and he came here thinking all Publix locations had a pharmacy, especially since Publix offers free antibiotic prescriptions. However, he was quite disappointed when he walked in and realized that they didn’t have one, and ended up having to pay for his prescription. However, they have the standards that you would need from a grocery store. Bestie and I will constantly come here after a day out to buy groceries to make breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Never had items we could find, so I would say they are A-OK! The parking lot is a hassle though. The stop light takes forever to turn green, and when it is green, only 3 – 4 cars can make it through before it turns red again. Not the most ideal situation since cars end up piling through the parking lot just trying to get out.

When it comes to the grocery store, I can go to the Publix on Shallowford or take my chances of dying by vehicular homicide and go to the Publix in Tocco Hills. Most of the time, I’ll take my chances at Toco Hills because it is a bigger store; however, this Publix does have some charms that the Tocco Hills location does not. Location: you can zip in and out of this Publix with relative ease. It’s directly off of 85, and the congestion is nothing compared to the Tocco Hills location. Selection: It reminds me of my hometown IGA, but with a bit more selection(three types of sour cream instead of one). They almost always have advertised items in-stock. It’s a smaller store, so there is a tradeoff for the convenience of a smaller store versus a large selection. Price: I’ve heard that Publix is more expensive than Kroger(not really) and Aldis(yes, for sure). I’m from Cincinnati, the worldwide headquarters for Kroger, and as I’m loyal to a fault, it was hard for me to shop at Publix in the beginning. Then I woke up. The Kroger stores I’ve visited in Atlanta are subpar. My expectations of Kroger are probably higher than most, but I took my disappointment to Publix and have found that by shopping the circular, the prices aren’t that different between the two stores. Service: It must be highly stressed during orientation and training, because every single Publix employee I have come into contact at this store is courteous, professional, and helpful. Tips: At the last minute, I had to buy a cake and ran here to grab one. It got RAVE reviews from everyone who had a piece of the cake. Seriously. Also, this Publix sells frozen Skyline chili and Graeter’s ice cream, for all those Cincinnatians-in-Atlanta who get homesick.

I love Publix as a store, and am disappointed that this location is my local grocery store. It houses a very limited selection, and what produce isn’t rotten on the shelves will be bad within 48 hours. The staff is not friendly and helpful, unlike at most Publix locations. I try not to have to go here.

Typical Publix but just a tad smaller than I’m used too. If you need a pharmacy, this would not be the location you would like to go too. The lack of a pharmacy and small selection of alcohol might turn some away. But if you’re already here, then it might not be a problem considering the beverage shop across the street for your needs. But I do have to give the customer service. I’ve had better experience from the stocking employees and deli people than the cashiers. They seemed nicer in general. I’ve had great help trying to find something and sometimes a conversation about how the downfall of the hawks is just inevitable. Overall, pleasant shopping experience but pricey. It’s the only one around and Kroger is far. I’d only go here unless I want something from the deli or I really need something that can’t wait till later.

I went to this store three time to get the chicken dinner special only to find my choices of sides were variations of potato salad. If I’d been there after some dinner rush I could understand but I always shop during the 4 pm hour. Also, the prepared salads are often gone. This store is clean and the employees are friendly but it’s so tiny so I guess that’s why they don’t have as much deli/prepared stock. I only go here if I’ve forgotten something as it’s the nearest store to my house.

Not the greatest selection, expensive, no place to put the carts outside, and TWICE I’ve bought stuff that was moldy. Granted, I probably should have noticed, but I just don’t expect stuff on the shelves to be moldy. There’s also no pharmacy. It’s close to my house, so I do a lot of my shopping there. But whenever I have the option, I prefer to hit up the Publix by my work in Norcross. Although if I had my way, there would be an H.E.B. close by. Those of you who have ever lived in Texas probably know what I’m talking about.

Love this little Publix. It’s not your regular, super-expansive warehouse sized supermarket. It’s one of their smaller, neighborhood varieties. I felt compelled to write a review for them after just critiquing the Wal-mart in my neighborhood and remembering how much I dislike buying groceries at «Sam’s place,» especially produce. So let’s hear it for Publix! Fresh fruits and veggies, friendly help, great deli(the made-to-order sandwiches are tasty) and NOT headquartered in Arkansas.

Two for one deal on Honey Bunches of Oats? I’m already sold! I did have to wait a little while to get salmon over in butcher area(do they consider salmon part of the butcher area?), but once the guy in the apron and funny hat appeared, he was very patient with me as I tried to pick out the perfect piece for him to prepare. They have a great selection of fruit. Actually, I’m from Wisconsin, so I’m not even really sure what 85% of that stuff is, but it all looked pretty yummy! Embarrassingly, my milk jug broke all over the floor at the check-out, prompting me to freeze like a deer in headlights. Almost immediately, an employee came over and picked up the jug, so it’d stop leaking all over the floor – why didn’t I think of that? Ever seen Clerks? Remember that discussion they have about the milk maids that sit in the milk aisle and look at every jug to find the one with the latest expiration date? Totally me. The bag boy scooted over to the milk aisle and handed me a brand new jug with the same expiration date that I had chosen without me having to say a word. Gotta love that.
