Ivy Park Apartments

My daughter moved in to Ivy Park 6 months ago. Taaj, the young lady in the leasing office was so helpful and so real! She shared with us the vision for the complex and walked us through the apartment. Coming from a mom who was leaving her «baby» in a strange city far from home, I have to say Taaj made me feel at ease knowing she is just a call away if my daughter needs anything! I have been totally impressed with the attentiveness of Taaj and the staff at Ivy Park. My daughter loves her apartment and whenever I’m there to visit I get excited seeing all of the improvements coming to life, just as Taaj said they would! I would recommend this apartment complex to anyone looking for a place just outside downtown Atlanta, but still wanting to feel tucked away from the big city when they are home. It’s right in the middle of Five Points, Edgewood, Kirkwood, Decatur… all within minutes!

After a referral from a friend who resides at Ivy Park Apartments, I decided to check the place out and give it a try. My initial visit to the complex was that the area seemed very secluded and quiet. The part that made it great was the fact that it was such a small complex, which meant that the workers at the leasing office would be able to micromanage things in a closer level. The first person I met was a representative by the name is Taaj that had a desk in what seemed like the living room. I feel like this was done on purpose because she has a personality that is not deceptive to appeal the complex in a better light, rather to genuinely serve the apartment residents’ needs. After showing me the model floor and considering the relative distance to my school, I decided Ivy park was a place that was not a bad choice. So I moved into Ivy Park in August 2015.
I cannot review on the remodeled apartments because I moved in to the older model to save rent (being a college student and all) which I do not have any complaints about. For the price that I am paying, it really is the best bang for the buck. With that statement said, you might wonder why I would give this place a ⁵⁄₅. I am not appealed by the aesthetic nature of the apartment, rather I am appealed to the customer service of the leasing office, specifically Taaj. Because of her personality, I am able to personally communicate with her my concerns and needs. And the best part of it all is that she would respond like it was her personal problem. Because this apartment is close to Atlanta (yes, I am referring to the city-​style stereotype of dirty and rundown quarters) and my apartment is not the remodeled floor, it does have some aesthetic issues. I feel this is something that should be acceptable given the fact that this apartment complex was built several decades ago. The response time for the team that receives the work orders is phenomenal. The team responds either the next day (depending on the urgency of the matter) or the following day. After the first month of living there and putting in work orders to rebuild some of the things in the apartment that needed to be fixed, I had no work orders put in since September 2015. This is to show that the apartment complex cared about its residents and its needs.
In conclusion, I gave this complex a ⁵⁄₅ not for its lack of aesthetic appeal or the comforts of a 5-​star hotel, but the response time and care from the leasing office employees that make it their everyday effort to make the complex better and better each following day.

Upgrades are nice, but there’s no way I’m paying $ 1,100 for 900 sq ft! I only inquired because of the great review below me. Taay the leasing agent is rude not helpful at all. I was considering these apartments until I came in contact with her. I called that morning asking for information she sat silent on the phone I asked her could she hear me she said yes and sat silent again. I asked my question again. She half way responded. I decided to stop by thinking maybe she was busy. When she showed me the apartment she just opened the door went inside and didn’t give me any information. Once we left the apartment I asked about the laundry facilities she said the apts have washer and dryers I responded I didn’t see a washer and dryer she said it was in the hall closet. I asked why didn’t she show me her response was most people look in the closet and see it. Once we reached the leasing office she handed me my drivers license and said nothing. No thank you would you like an application nothing! The 15 mins I spent with her she said maybe 5 words the entire time. How could you have someone do rude working in your office? I know many nice respectable people who need a job and this lady has a job and doesn’t appreciate it. PLEASE REMOVE THIS LADY OR YOU WILL LOOSE POTENTIAL RESIDENTS!

When doing some apartment hunting back in October. I had stumbled across Ivy Park online. I have visited Ivy Park Apartments on a few occasions, more than a few I would say LOL!!! And went back to ask to view their renovated model again and also asked to be shown an older model unit as well, just to view the difference and the newer is of course more desirable for my liking.
I really loved the set up of the newer renovated apartments, the layouts, the color skeem, the kitchen and bathrooms it quite up to par and seems easy to work with and lovvvved the fact this complex has gas stoves! That’s hard to come by these days in apartment units. I was inquiring about a one bedroom which I loved but was open to a two bedroom as well, if need be. I was greeted by a lovely lady named Taaj who has been awesome!!! She is very helpful and informative, and if not sure about somethimg she would always ask for clarification to be sure so she wasn’t giving out the wrong info. Which I love about her and couldn’t thank her more on that, since I’m very particular about things I had some preferences which I addressed with her and she was all ears taking notes on my profile so she would know exactly what I wanted and liked, so with that said I’ve just had a overall good experience with her when I’ve gone to inquire about Ivy Park.
She advised me that they were pre-​leasing for the new year for their newer renovated apartments. I had a lot of questions and concerns about the complex and the area which I had did some research prior to going. This complex is small and very quiet which I have peeped out when driving through at night. I wanted to make sure it was safe for me and my well being or any of my guess. I love quiet and safe environment and so far that’s what I see here. Mind you I must add I have driven through more than once lol, sooooo yeah its quite safe and very quiet from what I can see at night just like it is during the day when I have gone to visit the leasing office.
I have to say overall between the leasing agent Taaj and the leasing office manager Enza they have always been able to get my questions asked and answered promptly. So I have decided to pre– lease for 2016, so I’m super excited about it and hoping that my experience when inquiring will be the same experience I have living there, which I’m pretty sure it will be, so will update my post in a few months… I just seen there hasn’t been a lot of reviews on it and some that I have seen are older or people that just had a hit or miss experience but I would recommend this complex oh and request for Taaj!!! Super awesome!!!

Since I do this for a living I thought I would post about the apartment complex I now reside.
My family and I had move from our previous duplex less than a month ago. The landlords sold the property and we decided instead of raising our rent we would look for a more affordable place for the price.
We looked and we looked and finally decided on Ivy Park Apartments because it was within walking distance of my husbands work and seemed like an affordable place to live.
After talking to the front desk people and set up two different showings, driving past the place (at night) on many different occasions we decided to move.
Talking to the front desk, Juanita, we thought this place would fit our lives since we asked for a quiet place (newborn baby) by the leasing office. Everyone in the office seemed really nice and told us that this would not be a problem. Well, we could kick ourselves now. After telling us we could have an apartment close to the leasing office– a week before we were to move in they put us into another apartment, promising that we would get our transfer fees prorated into our rent… that never happen either. Upon moving in our neighbors blocked the back door screaming at both us and other neighbors, after we complained to the office, who did ask them to clear the back steps, our neighbors have become even more ridiculous– yelling, cursing, making threats to our vechicles and our property. We have called security a couple of times but it seems that nothing can really be done.
Also, before moving into the apartment we asked to have the A/​C fixed on two different occasions, which both the office and maintenance worked very efficiently and quickly to fix. We have asked for a number of other things to be fixed in the apartment for which maintenance keeps saying they would be back to fix but have never shown up.
Conclusion:
Office: Very friendly and responsive until they don’t want to be.
Maintenance: The word lazy comes to mind but not sure if lazy or just over worked.
Facilities: Laundry room works well, Pool is broken
Enviroment: Awful– As a community it seems people have very little respect for others and are constantly hostile. We think the community has some drug aspects. NOT SAFE FOR CHILDREN
please please please be very aware of this apartment complex.
Security: Willing to call the police and walk around the complex– but of course the one officer cannot be everywhere at once.
