Came with my girls. First time for me. And the food was amazing. Has wings and onions rings!!! Well worth the money spent and the prices were very decent. Will be coming back. Customer service was great! Thanks Tia.

Greeted right away and told to sit anywhere. I chose the bar since dining alone. Got a cold beer and asked bartender for recommendation. Looking at me she started with sandwiches & wraps. I told her that although not a huge wings fan I wanted something they are known for… ribs & shrimp it was. The meal came quick & everyone was nice. Being married to a Southern Historian we’ve eaten a lot of ribs from Chicago to Mississippi so although I can’t say they were in the top 5 they certainly were good. The meat, and there was a lot of it, just fell off the bone in my hands. The sauce was good… even off my fingers. The shrimp was a good compliment and I liked the spicy cocktail sauce. The fries were fries. Glad I ventured in!

Best wings in Atlanta. I love the flavor of the ‘hot’, and don’t forget to get extra crispy.

I am in town and wanted something to eat for dinner. I love fried chicken(who doesn’t???) so I saw this one and decided to give them a try. The outer appearance seemed okay. The interior was a tad dark, dated but still decent to eat at. I ordered the 10 piece buffalo chicken wing dinner & an order of the fried mushrooms. The mushroom order was over $ 7; kinda pricey for average tasting mushrooms. The ranch dressing definitely helped. The buffalo wings were okay; not bad, not good, just average. I could have gone to Kroger and got their version, which would have tasted better and cheaper. It costed almost $ 10. I try to support my independent businesses but i’m not thrilled about this one. The cashier was friendly, funny. The guy who gave me my dinner from the kitchen was also cool. I bought a bottle of their lemon pepper for $ 4; not because I heard it was good or that they used it well, but to see how it will taste when i cook with it. In Chicago we have Harold’s and Uncle Remus plus other hole in the wall spots so for the rest of my trip I will refrain from eating wings here in ATL.

Glad I stopped in. Wings are as good as in Buffalo and the ribs… well, don’t know what to say but mmm. They’re full ribs, not baby backs, were fork tender, had just the right amount of char and the sauce is great. It’s not a sweet sauce which is good, but it’s still molassasy and rich. The combo plate is 3 giant ribs, 10 wings and fries for $ 14. I’ll be back every time I’m in town.

I recently posted a 2-star review based on being charged for blue cheese dressing. The owner contacted me and explained their dressings are«freshly» made. I returned to try them out. I’m a fan of blue cheese and theirs is DABOMB! Thanks Nick for explaining and inviting me back. This will definitely be one of my weekly lunch spots. This place gets stars for the friendly manager. The wings are ok but nothing to write home about. The kicker is they charge extra(yes, I said charge) for the dressing and celery if you want fries. What a rip off! American Deli gives that to you, although its probably added in the cost of the wings.

Lemon Pepper Wings were on point. I don’t normally order that flavor, so I don’t have anything to compare it to. To me it was a perfect blend of lemon and pepper on a nice crispy skin. The Buffalo flavored wings were pretty basic for a specialty wing place. I loved the fries, they were seasoned nicely and just crispy enough. I would go back for a quick option, but wouldn’t pass up the option to try someplace else if the circumstance allowed. I’ve had better wings, but these were good.

My husband and I have been on a road trip since last Friday, started at Miami and been through Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana and Georgia, so let me tell you that so far this is the best southern meal we’ve had. And the service that Nyassa gave us was bespoke… The best part, we got a recommendation from a bumb two blocks away!

I can’t say I’ve ever been a fan of JR Crickets. The locations on Camp Creek and in Jonesboro have been a bit too ratchet-like for me to get comfortable and the service sucks. I liked this spot because there’s a counter where you can place takeout orders as soon as you walk in the door. No nonsense, straight to the point. Food was pretty good for a late night run especially if you got a buzz going. Only weird thing is the fried fish(tilapia) had a coating that was like the coating you’d find on fish sticks but it was still tasty. It’s open til 2am on weekdays and 3am on weekends. Plenty of parking at this location also.

This is the only place I will get lemon pepper wings from. They are so delicious! The staff are pretty cool but there have been times I’ve stood around waiting for someone to help… I’m like hello! Do we have more than one person working here. That can be frustrating and I’m not sure what the problem was but overall it doesn’t happen too much. Be careful not to park in the non-JR Crickets parking spaces, otherwise, you are good!

Thinking that this is my second time coming here in the last 2 months– and its actually not like it use to be. The wings tasted like they were onion rings! They were also a little dry– don’t think this will be a regular spot –not certain if they want to fix what is concerning. I’m saying that food is what we eat. We put it in our mouths and swallow. It should be at its best at all time, and those that prepare and cook the food we eat should do it with passion. Business follows reputations. I believe JR has left the building to pursue other interest. I guess that’s the cost of doing business, but all business is not good if it’s not an equal transaction.

Went to this place based off of a recommendation from a friend. My boyfriend and I had just left the Hawks game and were starving. The place was pretty crowded, but we didn’t have to wait long for a seat. Once we sat down and ordered the food took almost 40 mins… BUT once we got it, it was well worth the wait. I definitely recommend this place to anyone. The Buffalo BBQ wings were SO good. I didn’t really care for the chicken tenders. They were lacking flavor. The club sandwich my boyfriend had was good as well. He enjoyed it.

Well i came to ATL. for business and my friend pointed at this place and told me, i had really good ribs and a tasty burguer there. so i said lets put it to the test. We were greeted as soon as we entered, the place looked neat and clean. I ordered the wings and ribs basket. Ribs were really good, tender and smokey. The wings. not the best that i had. A little bit over fried. I believe this spot is ideal for games.

Normally I don’t review the local franchise spots because they all offer the same food, so this review is on the service only. I was greeted as I entered with a very welcoming smile and ask if it was dine in or takeout. I sat at the bar trying to catch the end of a College basketball championship game and the hostess was very accommodating to change the big screen. No problem. The food came out very timely and again the entire staff was so professional and sweet. Especially, Ms. Tia — Bauer

Everyone that has lived or stayed in Atlanta has heard of this landmark. Its just about as much of a landmark as ‘The Varsity’, except J.R. Crickets has better food and usually serves locals. The food is mediocre for the most part though. The friend chicken sandwich is quite good and some of the wings are decent. I’m not sure as to why some rave about their wings, they’re definitely not the best. not by far. They’re decent, especially the dirty bird and buffalo. The pricing is not bad. Wings do go with fries though, which is a pretty good deal when most places do not offer the fried potato sides. Drinks are mixed well and the bartender is pretty friendly as most of the employees are. Seating is plentiful during rush hours and parking is never tough to find since they have their own. I wouldn’t come by specifically for J.R. Crickets, but its nice to know that I’ll always have an option for easy assess food in midtown.

Im updating my review because of how impressed I am with the owner Nick, who invited me back into the resturant to give them another try. We ordered 30 wings and tried the ribs and was in awe over how good the food tasted. Even the fries were spectacular. The wings tonight definitely ranked among the best I’ve ever tasted! But more than the yummy food I highly respect an owner or manager who reaches out to their customers to make the experience a better one. Great Job Nick!

Hands down, the best lemon pepper wings in Atlanta. They are pricey but they are the best. There is some serious engineering in that lemon pepper recipe. The regular buffalo is good but probably not worth the price. For me, I’m a lemon pepper man, so Crickets is the best. Their blue cheese is also delicious. They have some good«hybrid» sauces, particularly Sanchez and Festor. Festor is a mix of buffalo and lemon pepper, Sanchez is a mix of teriyaki and buffalo. Festor is particularly awesome. We love their North Ave location. They also look out for us. We mistakenly ordered«Sanchez» flavored wings and they just went back and brought us out 20 more«Festor» flavored wings, which is what we meant to order. My buddy described it as a «WIngsmas Miracle.» They may seem a little rough around the edges but they have mad love for their customers. P. S. A surprising dark horse in the lemon pepper wing race in Atlanta is Shanes Rib Shack in the Edgewood shopping center. I know it sounds unlikely but if you haven’t tried them, don’t knock them til you do.

This place is interesting. I got there at 2:55 am last night. They knew fully well that they closed at 3am. Took my order and delivered it at 3:10am, then chased me out immediately. That is not good service with no courtesy to let me eat in after a long night. Only consolation is that the wings are nice and they gave me 2.5x my chicken order because they were probably trying to get rid of their food.
