I had a really nice lunch at Jos. The food was reasonably priced and a little better than expected at the price point. The service was efficient but the indifferent attitude does the chef no favors. I went out of my way to tell our server how much I enjoyed my lunch but she just smiled. I finally told her how much I liked the special sauce on the fish taco and could she tell me what was in it. Her response was, I don’t know and I don’t care. I just serve. Whoa! Is that what the chef wants from their servers? My response to the server was, well if someone asks, you can say that customers like the dish. She said yeah sure. That is pretty pitiful now isn’t it?

Come for their known popular items or try their specials, you can’t go wrong. Burger? Come here no question. Wings? Amazing! If they have their lamb chops or sea bass as a special, I urge you to order one of those. This is my go-to, local, family hang-out. You’re always likely to meet one of the owners as they are always here.

Odd place. Food and service was quick, but the quality if the food was average at best. Nothing to rave about. I had Rusty’s Dog… hot dog with chili and cheese and fried okra. Hot dog was a good quality dog. Not likely to be on the list to visit again.

I enjoy this local spot for dinner on and lunch on occasion. The service is reasonably friendly, the food comes out quickly and always tastes good. I really enjoy the blackened chicken caesar salad. Their appetizers have always been yummy too.

Jo’s is nice little spot for lunch or dinner. The food can be hit or miss sometimes, but my favorites are the chops and burgers. The burgers are especially good. Seating is comfortable for dine-in. Indoors or out on the patio. Sometimes I order take-out and sit @ the bar with a beer watching tv while I wait. And sometimes I sit @ the bar and order more beer and watch more tv when it’s done.

It’s not terrible, but definitely not worth seeking out. The house salad was pre-made and already looking a little tired at 12:15PM. I ordered it without onions, but since it was pre-made I ended up removing them myself. Next I got the fish tacos, which would have been okay except they were DRENCHED in this god-awful sauce that seemed to be a mixture of remoulade, Sriracha, and mayonnaise. Decent service, which included frequent drink refills, were the saving grace of this otherwise forgettable lunch.

I’ve lived in the neighborhood since the 90’s and I’d like to say Jo’s has items that make you come back. There are not so great items but it’s mostly unique specific things that I think are really good(sandwiches and burgers, wings, kabebs, steak, specials and wraps)

Been coming here since 2003, and in hundreds of meals here, yet to have a bad one. When I consider which restaurant to go to, I really value consistency, and I have found it here for 11 years. That coupled with great value keeps me coming back.

Went here after a reception for a light bite. Three of us shared edamame, nachos, and the Greek salad. Edamame was steamy, with kosher salt. Just as hoped for. Nachos were messy-lots of canned jalapeños on it. Did the job, but not remarkable. Greek salad was lovely — we’ll done, fresh greens, good feta, nice vinaigrette. We didn’t add any protein. Was our first time here — looks like generally basic American fare, reasonably well done.

No clue how there are ANY good reviews for this place! ABSOLUTELY one of the WORST meals I’ve EVER had and it cost me $ 40!!! Calamari=HORRIBLE, Caesar Salad=HORRIBLE, Quesadillas=HORRIBLE, Grilled Chicken=Rubber &HORRIBLE, Cheese Ravioli= Taste like a Stouffer’s Frozen meal… actually Stouffer’s frozen meal would have been better! The kitchen has no idea what seasoning is much less salt. The wait staff can’t explain the menu nor what a dish taste like. NEVERAGAINWILL I COMEHERE!!!

Not a bad lunch spot. I got the wings and fries which were pretty good, but not the best I’ve ever had. I’d go back, for sure.

Food was ok but nothing to write home about. Asked for a medium burger. Came out well done. Biggest complaint is this place is a dive but charges over $ 4.00 for a Miller Lite! That is half of what a burger costs at this place! It cost us close to $ 50.00 for 4 beers and 2 burgers. If you want ok food not cooked like you want it, than this is your place. If you want to enjoy some time with friends over a few beers and a snack, then this is NOT the place. Oh, and the owner decided it was a good idea to enjoy a cigar directly next to our table when our food was ordered.

Solid place. From the road you’re thinking a pub or bar but upon walking in you’ll see nothing but families and nicely dressed couples. It’ll throw you off be first time. Either way. The food is tasty if unspectacular. Staff is nice. Highlight. Teriyaki chicken sandwich with pineapple. It has some foreign name but that is the description. Overall. Old restaurant for the sometimes over done Brookhaven scene.

I never would have considered visiting this restaurant if my friend hadn’t suggested it. I lived in Brookhaven for so many years and I never visited any restaurant that preceded Jo’s. The building just looks like a pub/dive that would serve greasy food. Jo’s almost lived up to that expectation. Fortunately, the menu included a grilled shrimp kabob with steamed rice and a salad, which both my friend and I ordered. We were not in the mood for a pile of grease. The kabob was excellent. It would have been more excellent with more than one mushroom and one small piece of pepper. The rice was edible. The salad was a salad. The price was pretty outrageous for a dive, but service was good. I doubt I will go back, but it wasn’t a terrible visit. I can make the same size kabob, rice and a salad at home for about $ 3.00, instead of $ 13.00.

Let’s get this out of the way up front, Jo’s will never be the type of place you’ll see on Food Network. No oh-my-god dishes, no funky atmosphere and no line out the door waiting for service. But do yourself a favor and try Jo’s. This is the type of restaurant every neighborhood begs for. It’s a solid place to find dinner when your group can’t really agree on what they want, but you want to make sure everyone is happy. Burgers are big, salads are fresh and the menu is diverse. Perhaps my favorite items are their shish kabobs are standout, served with bed of rice and crisp grilled vegetables. Meals are affordable and you don’t leave hungry. Sometimes that’s the perfect recipe.

We went here twice in a two week time span. That should reveal that I’m a fan of Jo’s. We first decided to go for a Saturday lunch. We were pleased to see $ 2 drafts and other specials as we walked in. We split yummy cajun-style crab claws as an appetizer, which immediately let us know that we came to a great spot. For mains, I settled on the fried chicken salad and my hubby got a burger. To me, both were delicious. I hardly every order fried chicken salads, but the chicken had loads of flavor and I was pleased to see that the salad was primarily made of spinach and other dark greens. We went again for a weekday lunch and sat at the bar as the restaurant was packed. This time I settled on spaghetti & meatballs and the hubs got kebabs. I must say — for a non-Italian restaurant, these meatballs were killer good. The portion was huge — definitely worth sharing or taking home for lunch another day. Service here is attentive and great. Although there are TVs on many of the walls, I found them easy to ignore. This is a great place to get grilled delights. Flavorful grilled steak/shrimp/chicken with a healthy salad? Heck yes. The crowds at this place should hint to you that this place is worth stopping in. I drove by it for over 4 years before I finally decided to stop — I should have stopped sooner.

Have been passing by Jo’s Grille for a few years, but never stopped. Kept telling myself that one day I would have to check it out. So yesterday was that day. We were riding around looking at houses around lunch time and decided we needed some grub. We spotted Jo’s agreed to give it a try. It was around noon and no one was there, it was empty when we walked in. I was tempted to turn around and leave as we waited for a few minutes to be acknowledged by the waitress who was sitting at the bar talking to the cook. Finally we were seated and our drink order was taken. We got our drinks and the waitress walked away, coming back about 10 mins later. So service here isn’t good. I then ordered a cheese steak sandwich and fries; my girlfriend got the fish and chips. It took almost 20 mins to get our food. When it arrived her fish and chips was one big piece of talapia fried and some fries, not what she or I expected. My cheese steak was dripping of grease and nasty. In short, I will not return to Jo’s as it was not worth the money for a pile of grease. Also the restaurant didn’t look too clean either.

Had a late lunch there today and the place was busy even though it was after 2:00 pm. We ordered the steak with the grilled vegetables and the steak kabobs which came with fries. Decided to split an order of real mashed potatoes and we could have fought over those! They serve *real* mashed potatoes and these seemed like they just cooked them. My steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned with no need to add anything. I hate a steak that’s too fatty or salty! The vegetables were long strips of carrots, zucchini and squash that had been lightly grilled. Not mushy or seedy. We didn’t leave a scrap of anything on our plates! We eat here for dinner every few months and I do think some of the dinner prices are high for what you get. As far as I can tell what I ordered today was minus the salad yet $ 10 less than what it would have cost for dinner. Still, it’s not expensive for burgers, sandwiches or salads and the lunch prices seem more accurate for the food. As far as ambiance, there just isn’t much. Simple tables, lots of wood, no curtains yet a lot of windows. But the service is good and the food is decent. It offers something for everyone.

Jo’s is a little off the beaten path, but worth it! Jo’s is my lunchtime salad/sandwich/burger venue of choice whenever I am around the Perimeter/Northside Hospital area, but they have an expansive menu of other items, as well. On any day that weather allows, you can see people sunning themselves at the outside seating areas, and the inside of the restaurant is tranquil and rustic with comfortable seating. The waitstaff is always curteous and promt, and I have had nothing but great food and great service each and every time I have visited. An extra bonus is that it is adjacent to a city park, so you can even take a nice stroll after your meal. My favorite is their icy cold, crisp wedge salad drizzled with ranch(just my preference — it comes with blue cheese normally) with warm bacon crumbles and diced tomato, and my daughter opts for their HUGE cheeseburger and homemade onion rings every time. Hubby always goes straight for the Grilled Chicken Caesar salad and wings(their specialty).
