Hook Off the charts great seafood/fish served with seasonal vegetables. Don’t miss the mussels — delicious — or house-made ice cream — YUM. The scallops and sole were fabulous and cooked perfectly. Line Very pretty restaurant with an open kitchen format. Free valet parking(don’t forget to have your ticket validated at the restaurant). S(t)inker What happened to the starch, not a potato, grit, pasta, rice to be found. No bread and the mussels were served with a measley two small crostini. Even the sides available to order did not include a starch? Awkward seating — we had reservations but the guest infront of us without reservations got the nice private booth. We were then slammed into a small table in the middle of a row of really close small tables and when asked to be re-seated, in the almost empty restaurant, we were sat on top of another couple. $$$$

Pricey, but delicious. We ate here after the restaurant down the road turned us away, stating that they could not accommodate our children that day. Lure was the only place around that didn’t have a huge wait, and they kindly welcomed us, put away our stroller, and provided my daughter and her friend with crayons and coloring pages. I ordered the swordfish, and it was incredible. It didn’t come with any sides — just the meat — but it was enough to satisfy my appetite. The two older kids split the salmon and both loved it. Our server was kind and our experience was excellent. Worth the price tag.

I’m a fan of this place. The grilled octopus lettuce wraps with vietnamese sauce is outstanding. I usually order 2 of them for myself and don’t feel bad afterwards because it’s mainly protein. It’s a little pricy but well worth it for a great tasting healthy meal. The décor in this place is also pretty interesting. It kind of has a San Francisco feel to it.

They had a great deal linked to Alliance Theatre tickets, where you bought the tix and the dinner together. On the web, ahead of time. When you were seated, they had a separate little«Theatre Menu» on paper. Three courses. It was very good food, as always at Lure. Pan fried sole on spinach with capers, fantastic! I like to sprinkle four stars gaily on the restaurants I patronize. This time, Lure gets only three, which is still A-OK. But here is why. It was still pricy. The choices were small, and for appetizer and dessert, the portion was tiny. For $$$, I think the oyster appetizer ought to be six large fat bivalves instead of three little skinny bivalves. My injustice meter buzzed for a second. And this is partly self-imposed, partly not. One food allergy and one food preference(don’t eat pork) narrowed my choice even more than the menu did. So I wish the chef would be mindful of that when making the theatre menu. Lots of people don’t eat pork.

Talk about chains, booth pendant lighting, concrete, wood, and iron. Lovely rustic-modern décor here! Quite nice in there with the music playing at just the right volume, setting the mood. Staff was pretty attentive, and it wasn’t terribly busy for an early week dining — which I appreciated. The crab dip and house made rolls were just… umph. More more more. I got the seared salmon & scallops with confit potatoes, because a girl can’t choose between two dishes that sounded so good. Pretty limited wine menu — with almost all whites being served by the bottle. No room for dessert. What else is new? Lol Maybe next time, because I’ll be back!

Got a recommendation from a local Atlantan to try Lure for lunch in Atlanta’s Midtown during the Christmas holiday. This being a seafood restaurant, our group jumped for the Grilled Octopus and Pork Lettuce Wraps as well as the Fish Tacos and a Grilled cheese sandwich. When asked which side we wanted with our plates, we were very impressed that our server offered to provide«half-and-half»(fresh cut fries and Cole slaw). You just don’t get that kind of an accommodating option very often in restaurants back home in Michigan. The octopus was grilled to perfection and was delicious whey dipped in the soy sauce provided with the lettuce wraps. Nice modern décor with clean lines provides a bit of a sanctuary here in this busy part of Midtown. You gotta love the convenient valet parking as well on a rainy winter day. 4-Star experience overall.

Restaurant has a good feel with the nautical décor. Not a huge menu but full of good seafood options. Also has a few non seafood options for the folks in your party that don’t care for fish. Our server was ok. Not overly friendly but did do her job well. As it was our first time there I appreciate a fun server.

Well prepared food! We went on a Saturday night, valet parking for $ 4 — remember to bring cash. We had reservations, which I don’t really think we needed. It was not terribly busy at 7pm, but quickly filled up with a couple of large parties. All of their staff were very friendly and attentive. There was music playing that did not interrupt our conversation. We sat on the patio, which I was not too sure about at first since it had been raining, but it was great. We were asked several times what we thought about our meal and if we needed anything. Our waitress was fantastic. Food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. We had baked crab dip w/bread, Hawaiian bread w/butter, fried clams, pan fried sole, steak w/potatoes(cooked exactly as asked), Key lime dessert, homemade ice cream. Their side dishes lacked options. I think the food was more complicated that need be. Different combinations, flavors I would not normally put together. I’m not a chef, what do I know. The dip was enough for 2 to share(I love it), the fried claims were enough for 3, Hawaiian bread had just four pieces and it was excellent. The Key lime dessert was super sweet and plenty. The jam in the middle was not needed and did not do anything for it but add sugar. It was pricey, but not a place we would go every weekend. This type of restaurant is around just to remind me that I prefer simple food.

Trout! Get the trout! I had one evening in Atlanta and a friend suggested Lure. The service was great – the servers were prompt and attentive and knowledgeable about their menu. I had the Whole Bramlett Farms Trout which was served on a bed of seasonal vegetables. If you have ordered trout or prepared trout yourself, you likely know that there is a fine line between perfectly done and overdone. Once you filet the trout in half, it is a thin piece of fish that can easily cross the line into«just a tad dry» in the blink of an eye. Lure, however, prepares the fish whole and then your server will filet and debone it table-side. This allows the fish to be cooked to perfection! Meaning, cooked through but still moist and tender. It was delicious. I sampled a couple of desserts, and leave you with this: do whatever you must to get a taste of the pistachio ice cream. Seriously.

We came here on a Saturday night and made a reservation in advance which worked out well since the restaurant was pretty packed. There is valet parking for the restaurant which costs $ 4, and there is also limited metered street parking. The restaurant itself has dim lighting with wooden décor so it has some nice vibe to it. As we were seated, our server came by and asked for our drink orders as well as provided highlights of the menu. We decided to ordered several appetizers to share so we could try out as much as we could of the menu. This is what we ordered: Raw Oysters on the Half-Shell: They had 5 selections of different kinds of oysters ranging from a little over $ 2 to almost $ 3.50 each. Our server described each type of oyster so we could decide what to order. We ended up trying 3 different kinds but they were all really fresh while being accompanied by lemon, cocktail sauce, and horseradish. Steamed Mussels — This was a bowl of mussels in a wine-based garlic sauce that came with some crunchy bread to dip. The mussels themselves were a little small but were very fresh just like the oysters. We enjoyed the broth that was used which had great flavor. Baked Crab Dip — Best item of the night. I can’t even describe how smooth and delicious this dip was because it just pretty much melted away in our mouths. This came with small pieces of bread to dip with and had a rich tomato based flavor. As for my entrée, I decided to order the grilled swordfish which was hearty but I think it was my first time having swordfish which I don’t think I am a big fan of. Nonetheless, it tasted fine and had some tasty farro and charred corn on the side. Finally, we got the Devil’s Food for dessert which is a small chocolate mousse cake with pieces of hazelnut crunch on top. This was very rich but incredible. Being a chocolate lover, I was very impressed with this on point ending to an overall solid experience.

Dinner with friends at Lure this past Saturday night. Made a reservation on Open Table, so no worries about a wait. We had the choice of sitting on the large covered patio outside or inside. We chose the patio. Which was smart, since it was a comfortable night out and much quieter outside. This is a fish/seafood place, so expect to get that if you go. Service was friendly, though not the most outgoing of personalities. He was fine. My meal was the salmon, cooked rare, which it was. The fish was moist and really delicious. Menu said it came with a side of mashed cauliflower, which I had never had before. There was some on the plate, but a very small amount, which was disappointing, because the little that I tried was good. Good sized wine and drink menu. Only a few desserts, but tried the peanut butter one and it was really good. Just a nice place to have dinner with friends and catch up.

I went here for dinner with a colleague. We ordered raw oysters of various kinds and I had the whole trout. I liked that a woman fileted it at the table for me. My only complaint was that it could have used a little more seasoning. Otherwise, it was delicious and I would order it again. I had vidalia onion hush puppies on the side and they were very good. I had a Palm beer that was good. It may have in fact been more like 3 since they went well with the fish. This restaurant has an interesting drink menu although I did not taste any of the cocktails. The service here is excellent. As I said, staff came to the table to make sure i got the meat off the fish. I asked her to leave the head/tail, but another server grabbed and cleared them before I could intervene. I wasn’t all that upset about it though because there was plenty of fish.

To kickoff Midtown Restaurant Week, we begin with Lure one of the premier Atlanta restaurants of the Fifth Group Restaurants. Lure is all about seafood and they do it like none other. From it’s wooden nautical décor, Lure lets you know they’re serious about seafood just coming in the building. Valet parking makes this Midtown restaurant worry-free and with validation it’s just $ 4 to park. We couldn’t help but having a conversation on the décor of the restaurant. The seating is very comfortable and the rich wood accents abound. This restaurant is a perfect example of upscale dining in a casual, comfortable setting. It’s an open environment that is inviting and welcoming. Although we chose to be seated indoors, there is a large shaded outdoor seating area that would be awesome for an evening meal. Once seated we were greeted by our server and he gave us the full treatment throughout the meal. One thing you will NOT feel at Lure is neglected! We soon had our drinks and were discussing the menu with our server who knew the answer to every question posed to him. Our table was seated right outside of the window to the kitchen and our readers know how much we like to see into the kitchen. Not only do we like to watch our food being prepared but we also like to view how the staff interacts with one another and view the teamwork that takes place. One thing for readers to understand when fine dining in a restaurant such as Lure, is that you yield control over to the chef. This isn’t a mid-grade restaurant — you’re not choosing an entrée, adressing for your salad and two sides. You select a dish and it is accompanied by the selections chosen by the chef. If you want additional sides, they are also available. Usually they are large enough to share among the table. Another thing that our server pointed out, Lure chooses what to serve based on the availability of the seafood based on its peak season of flavor. As such, the menu changes based on the selections that are present as do the accompanying sides. All of this also takes into account the seasonal variations present within the menu as a whole. It’s really an experience to be savored! I chose the Fried Louisiana Catfish while Melanie and Laurie selected the Seared Salmon. For some additional sides, we opted for the Confit Potatoes and the Vidalia Onion Hushpuppies. We began our meal with an appetizer and chose the Baked Crab Dip. Served with roasted tomatoes, chives and toast points it was still bubbling when it was delivered to our table. The Baked Crab Dip was delicious! The chunks of crab were large and meaty and we really liked the roasted tomatoes with it that made it so seasonal. It was just a little watery and we would like to see this made with a cream sauce to help mask the water from the tomatoes. When our entrées arrived, I was stunned. The presentation was stunning, even Laurie made the comment it looked to good to eat. I couldn’t wait to get my camera out to start snapping pictures. Okay, yes it looked phenomenal but you want to know how it tasted, right? The Louisiana Fried Catfish was served on a bed of cucumber salad with the most finely sliced cucumbers I had ever seen. I mentioned this is Melanie and she said they were definitely done on a mandoline. Underneath this bed of cucumbers was hot sauce. On top of the fried catfish was crème fraiche sprinkled with herb. At one point, I noticed the taste of mint in the herbs. This combination of flavors was dynamite and the hot sauce and crème fraiche provided such a nice contrast while both combined to bring out the natural flavor of the fish. The ladies were served Seared Salmon accompanied with a cauliflower purée and smoked mushrooms. The mushrooms had a strong smoky flavor that was at times almost overpowering for the ladies but I loved its boldness. I enjoyed their meatiness but Melanie thought they were a little chewy for her. Melanie loved the way the cauliflower purée acted as a sauce to make the entire meal come together. When dessert was offered we looked at one another in dismay. While we were full, everything had been so good we couldn’t resist trying the dessert. The rest, as they say, is history. We selected the Chocolate Mousse Cake and Homemade Ice Cream. This is a dessert you might regret until you taste it and then you’ll know its worth it! The three of us shared the dessert and it was a delightful to end our meal. Lure is the epitome of casual upscale dining. The food is out of this world and the service is exemplary. You cannot go wrong whether you are celebrating a special occasion, meeting friends after work or eating out with the family, Lure will show you a fantastic time. Guten appetit!

Lure is a gem tucked in Midtown. I’m so happy that my friend took me there. Don’t be scared away by Unilocal $$$ estimate, it doesn’t cost that much. Lure has only been open for more than 1 year. So maybe not so many people know about it, when we went in for a Sunday brunch, the place was almost empty. Their tables and chairs are all wooden. I like the whole vibe. They also served sparkling water as a choice. Seafood is Lure’s specialty, so fish for brunch, plus oysters for appetizer. Oysters came out quite fresh. They tasted good when topped with lemon juice and garlic. My order of rainbow trouts totally washed away the bad experience last time I had. It was crispy outside, soft inside and seasoned very well. What’s more, the smashed and baked potatoes were fabulous! I’m not a big fan of french fries and chips, yet this side dish totally changed my opinion about potatoes. My friends’ scallop grits and smoked salmon were also solid. You get a bunch of scallops on top of grits in one round stone bowl(?), which is a pretty interesting scene. Smoked salmon eliminates the whole fatty salmon tastes and makes them crunchy. Th service was very attentive and helpful. They also have valet parking in crowded Midtown. All in all, such a great experience. Even though I don’t like going back to the same restaurant again, this one is still a keeper in my heart.

If Lure was a person, she would be my hot summer fling. Except, it’s really freaking hot here in the ATL, so most of our fling-ings would have to take place in AC. It’s just so sad that our romance didn’t start earlier in the summer, because Lure pushes all my buttons in a good way.(Is this TMI?) Best work meeting I’ve had so far! Thanks, boo. ;) ***** I. FOOD Obviously, one will find any kind of seafood ranging from raw oysters to fish stew, so there’s plenty to choose from. I came with a group, and we shared the baked crab dip. For my entrée, I had a Grilled Swordfish club. *Baked Crab Dip: Rich, creamy, with some kick from the roasted tomatoes and chives that was great to spread all over some toasted bread. I would gladly eat this again or wear this stuff as a mask and try to eat it with only my tongue. Either way is cool.($ 15) *Grilled Swordfish Club: I’ve eaten quite a few sandwiches in my life, but this one really made my eyes bulge out of my face. The swordfish wasn’t overly cooked. That smoked trout pâté was smooth. And buttermilk dressing and bacon? Oh, I had to refrain from making inappropriate«ooh» and«aww» sounds, while talking about work.($ 15) II. SERVICE Wow, the server and her trainee worked so hard and made sure to take care of us throughout the service. Not to mention, they were super sweet.(Insert several heart emoticons.) I felt bad for not buying them beers. III. ATMOSPHERE/AMBIENCE Did this place teleport from Portland, Maine? Because the décor is off the chain!(They literally have an anchor(s) and chains there.) Also, this eatery is poppin’ with business professionals, so it has a nice buzz! Wowza! IV. PRICES It’s pricey, even for Mid-teezy. Everything ranges from somewhere between the $ 6-$ 22 range. Fair, especially for seafood. V. OVERALL TAKEMY $$$! I’m def. taking my boo there for a date. Love this place.

I’ve been to this place several times. I took my partner to Atlanta for his birthday. I called to make reservations and spoke to the manager and found out that they didn’t serve cioppino. The manager the offered to have the chef make it for me just because I raved over how amazing it was. The service and staff went above and beyond for me on this trip. I will definitely stop by every time I am in town.

Great food, good location This restaurant is central to all parts of the city, good ambience and terrific seafood What’s unimpressive … Some of the staff WINE There was a mix of bottle and glass selections. We split a Pinot Grigio which tasted pretty good APPETIZERS Our table mixed up the crab dip, mussels, and calamari. The calamari was pretty standard fried O rings — nothing too fancy, still tasty. The mussels were 5 … They were steamed in a delicious sauce and came with jalepeno slices– very good quality seafood and totally fresh ENTREE I ordered the seared salmon well cooked. fantastic and full of flavor. It came with a drizzle of celery mash and a sprinkle of mushrooms. Others had the fried sole and loved it. We all impressed by the freshness of the seafood. DESSERT We split the chocolate mousse cake — it was very decadent and tasty– but the salt on top was overkill and ruined the dish for me Other than the stuck up servers who seemed upset that they were serving on a crowded Saturday night — I loved this place! I always tip on top of the table gratuity– it killed me to reduce the tip but she ruined a bit of my night. Also– the manager Brittany was so kind in making sure we got parked and out of the rain and into her establishment — Thank you! Can’t wait to return when the patio is open!

This is one of my favorite spots in Midtown. Yummy oysters and Prosecco on tap! Food: I’ve had the steak tartare, oysters, calamari and muscles. All the food was quite tasty. The oysters are awesome! Booze: I’ll say it again Prosecco on tap!!! They have a good wine list and any time I have gone there the bartender is knowledgeable. They have a great bar scene with some regulars and some out of towners. Atmosphere: Nice and dark and quiet here. I love it! It’s a very elegant scene. All in all I will put this on my Midtown rotation for when I want a change from the Oceanaire.

A couple of friends and I dined here on Saturday evening. Having walked past this attractive restaurant a few times and seeing some pictures and reviews before our visit, I was very excited to try Lure! With reservations, we were seated right away in the back of the restaurant. Throughout our entire meal, every table was seated so I would highly recommend making reservations if you’re dining for dinner. We started off with a punch bowl: the Ciao Pesca: peach snapps, peach purée, ruby port, Prosecco. I’ve tried a few punch bowls and too many drink concoctions to count, but this was one of THEBEST drinks I’ve ever truly ever had… so much so that I hope to mock the recipe on my upcoming beach trip. At $ 25, we each received about 4 – 5 drinks each from the gigantic bowl(there were 3 of us). This was probably my very favorite thing at Lure, and I’d go back just for it. Coming in a close second to favorite was the baked peekytoe crab dip. In it, there were huge chunks of fresh crab. The dip was tasty, seasoned well, and not overwhelmingly heavy – very delicious! We ordered many other plates to share: calamari, clam chowder, oysters, mussels. Everything tastes as close to fresh seafood as you will get in Atlanta, and all the dishes were well seasoned and flavorful. My only regret is they ran out of the clams. We enjoyed perfect, attentive service throughout. This place is perfect for drinks and apps after work, a romantic date night, or like many of the tables around us, birthday celebrations. Great restaurant, highly recommended – can’t wait to go back!
