This is definitely a college bar. I have gone here for years and absolutely love the owner, Mike who cares for the place. There is ton to do with 3 bars, pool, beer pong, darts, and karaōke. Welfare Wednesday’s means awesome deals but also means loud college crowd. I’ll always love Moondogs and keep coming here for awesome times with my friends!

Amazing place to go to. Really sweet people serving and mind blowing drinks. I moved in 6 months back in Atlanta and there is no where else that i rather go! Dancing, drinking, singing n few games… Complete entertainment = Moondogs! Keep up the good work guys!

Just your typical neighborhood gay bar. The guys are hot, way too many bitches though. I know you’re wondering, yes: they do have trough style urinals. They kind with ice and you get to peak at the others ;) ;)… Oh and the security guards have the best bar coke I’ve ever tried! Highly recommended!

They kicked my buddy out for being black i swear. We was sitting drinking beer and was asked to be removed out of nowhere. They had no idea we were together, minus I’m not black i find it odd && fishy

This bar was pretty fun to go to. I came here before when it was less crowded but now it has gained popularity. I like that it has games like darts, pools, beer pong, flip cup, karaōke and a EDM room. The bar is pretty big and has room to walk around. The only thing that I disliked was the wait time on the drinks. I understand that they are busy but we are right in front of then and just felt like my group got ignored. I came here to have a casual drinking night with the guys in the past but it basically turned into club now, still had fun but going to have to find a different bar to drink casually. The drink specials were a good deal and one of the drinks I had was an Inception Bomb. It was pretty giving that go at it and I drank two of them. If you want to have a good time and meet new people, Moondogs is a good hangout spot.

Atmosphere is electric up here in Buckhead. I trip on the white geeky people throwing down to rap but it’s all about having a good time. lmao

Definitely a college bar(and sometimes high school kids). Some of my friends love coming here as they say, cheap drinks. I’ve gone here less than ten times of the years since I’ve been legal and I always experience the same«meh» feeling about this place. I would say it’s a very run down bar and needs updating — you can smell the old. You get what you pay for. They allow smoking here and you will see clouds of smoke here and there so you will leave smelling like cigarettes and smoke. The bar is large in size with multiple rooms(dance room with pole and bar; seating area with TVs; beer pong tables; dart tables; main bar area once you walk in; pool tables; and karaōke room). Restrooms are the scariest and sketchiest part about this bar. There is literally no light in the stalls. It’s very difficult to flag down bartenders to order your drink. One time I was able to flag down a bartender, I quickly placed my order of Jack & Coke and he just stared at me, not really acknowledging whether or not he understood and walked away. How weird is that? The ONLY good thing about Moondogs is unlimited free and fresh popcorn. Like my review, MEH, I’ve experienced better. I’ll stick with my Ormsby’s.

Awesome bar. Everyone is extremely nice. The bar tenders are skilled and very friendly. Cheap drinks and a lot of bars inside. Tons of stuff to do: pool, darts, beer pong, karaōke etc. FREEUNLIMITEDPOPCORN is addicting. I’ve only been in Atlanta for 2 months and I have never been to a bar anywhere that treats everyone so well.

This place was interesting, more on the dive bar side with a mid-20s crowd. Went to play some pool and darts with friends on a Friday night. The place was not too crowded, but people were definitely out. It was not difficult to get a table or dart board, which we appreciated. We ordered drinks at one of the smaller bars near darts and the bartender was not too interactive. His drinks were fine. The only downfall was when Moondogs was closing in ten minutes the bouncers ransack the place screaming at everyone to get out, which was a bit annoying. Besides that I would visit again, but make sure to leave 20 minutes before closing.

Beer pong. Flip Cup. Darts. Pool Tables. Dance floors. Decent drink specials. Free popcorn. Great Atmosphere. That definitely sums up Moondogs. Fun place for 20 something year olds to hang out at. Definitely a diverse crowd. You run into everyone here. They allow smoking inside, so it can get pretty smokey in here. Come here for a fun night in Buckhead!

Moondogs is your typical dirty, college bar. If you’re not drunk, you probably won’t have a good time. There is something to do there for everyone though. There are different rooms dedicated to dancing, karaōke, pool, and flip cup. On «Welfare Wednesdays» there are $ 1 drinks while they last. They also have a drink called the Inception Bomb(a drink within a drink), which is definitely worth at least witnessing. On busy nights, it can be difficult to walk through the crowds of people. On slow nights, they have free pool and poker.

I must be spoiled in Ohio, because it’s illegal to smoke in bars here. When I went to Moondogs, all I could think was that I was suffocating from all the smoke. This couldn’t even be masked by awesome drinks or a wonderful crowd… Stinky-ness was the overwhelming experience. Also the bathroom was disgusting. Drinks are basic, they don’t do anything special or have great quality. Overall, I think this is probably a hot spot for kids with fake IDs or the elderly. Neither of which I have a problem with, but isn’t the crowd I aim to be with on my weekend nights.

You don’t come to moondogs dressed to impress random hot guys at the bar(there are usually no hot guys anyways HAHA). You come to moondogs to have a BLAST with your group of friends and have an awesome, please-let’s-not-be-sloppy-tonight kind of night. Moondogs is always fun — the beer pong table, the pool table and the FREEPOPCORN! saywhat? YES. If you see a girl forcing her friends to play«who can throw popcorn and catch it in their mouth» with her, it’s probably me and no, I’m not drunk. I’m always entertained when I come here, but their selling point is their staff! I never have to fight for their attention or push&shove to get my order in like I do at other bars AND I always leave having bonded with at least one of the bartenders of the night… too bad I can’t remember any of their names the next morning. Speaks to how awesome of a night I have here everytime I come, no?

Very friendly & hospitable staff, cheap drinks, a total dive but seems like a hot spot in the area. They also have a very tame and friendly dog that walks the bar at night. He’s great! He just likes chilling. Oh yeah — they also allow smoking indoors! How cool is that?

Went here to meet up with a date this past Sat. Yeah. It was a whim meet up since I desperately needed a pick me upper from the dramatic events during the day, and this outing and place def accomplished that goal. I really thought this place was cool with its many different rooms: dart, beer pong, karaōke, pool, dance, and bar areas. The crowd here was young adults. There was a few older folks, but mostly the early 20’s to 30’s crowd. There was a lot of Asian faces to be seen as well. I honestly think the drinks here were a tad steep, but then again, you are in Buckhead… And I guess we got the good stuff too. lol. Parking… Hmmm. My friend and I ended up parking at the corner shopping complex. We paid $ 10, but it was around the corner from Moondogs’ so the walk was sweet and short.

Described to me as a «Georgia Tech bar» it was pretty much exactly what I expected. A college style bar nestled into a larger grouping of about 3 — 4 bars in total, it’s a little grungy, kinda fratty, and partially a sports bar/dance club. I’ve really only ever come midweek to celebrate«Welfare Wednesdays» when they have $ 1 vodka drinks, $ 2 «fancier» vodka drinks(think Moscow Mules and Vodka/Red Bull), $ 1 draft beers, and a few other specials. The drinks are quality and the bartenders super friendly. They have pool, bar games, booth seating, a separate dance floor across the hall, and free popcorn to snack on throughout the evening. Moondogs is also pretty friendly to the sports crowd — they have a lot of big TVs with plenty of channels to satisfy everyone(think NCAA football, NFL, NHL, and of course the World Series which was the game of the night this past Wednesday). There are tons of pictures on the walls of past visitors and Atlanta landmarks. My favorite part of Moondogs is seeing Moondog! The honorary bar mascot is an adorable puppy who hangs out in the bar with his owner and has pretty free reign. He’ll walk around on the bar and get all the love and attention he can. He doesn’t steal sips or knock things over so he’s always a welcome guest. This bar isn’t my weekend place to go since it can get pretty crowded pretty quickly and parking can be difficult. On a good sports watching night though with killer specials, it’s a pretty safe bet.

It happened to come in on Saturday night, on Asian night. It wasn’t bad at all. This place is your typical bar with games like beer pong, darts and pool tables. It’s a dive, so it’s falling apart in every corner, but so is every bar in Atlanta. I was glad I didn’t dress up, it’s more of a typical mixed Atlanta crowd. Drinks are OK, nothing fancy.

Karaōke Wednesday is that night! I’ve been here more than a few times on a Wednesday, & there is nothing more fun than enjoying a drink with random people who can’t sing better or worst than you. Referred to Customer Appreciation day or «Welfare Wednesday», I have no problem paying for a $ 1 drink to push me on the stage to sing a song for all the fans(lol). The song book could use a MAJOR upgrade when it comes to songs… Or maybe I just sang them all. Of course there are other rooms to go in & out off. I like to call one the party room with the lights, medium bar, stripper pole, & the better music. The chill room, with the bigger bar &FREEPOPCORN. There are multiple pool tables, you can play flip cup, and even throw a few darts. Guys, you have to go to the restroom, & be sure to look up, it;s inspiring, trust! It’s a pretty cool spot. Check it out. Oh, and bring cash.

Moondogs is the only bar I enjoy going to in Buckhead. Traditionally known to be a fratty college bar, I tend to see people of all ages. Popular with the Asians because free cover, free POPCORN and cheap drinks. Wednesdays, or «welfare» Wednesdays are the days to go and get cheap drinks: $ 1 vodka cocktails, $ 1 draft beers(ask what’s on draft for $ 1 beforehand… Some may not be $ 1), $ 4 bombs(I think this is every night) and $ 5 pitchers(of the $ 1 draft beers). The crowd is always a little crazier on Wednesday nights which is why… You should go on Wednesday. Lots of games and things to do: flip cup tables, beer pong tables throughout the bar, karaōke, pool, a dance floor(although not as expansive as Hole in the Wall, the patrons at Moondogs are slightly classier…). The owner, Mike, has a full set up at the bar. He’s always hosting poker events and fundraisers, letting patrons get drunk for a good cause. He takes good care of me and my crew and makes sure we have a good time but get home safely. He introduced me to some of my favorite drinks today(can someone say Rumchata? Mmmm). There is usually a local DJ in the dance area, and Caitlyn will set you up with karaōke when you order drinks in the karaōke room. Need I say more? Moondogs is the place to have a good time!

I love Moondogs. One of the few bars in Buckhead that has actual activities! Pool, darts, karaōke, skee ball, flip cup and beer pong tables. Its also really big so the chances of it being too crowded are low which is great because I had clusters. Most of the bartenders are great especially Amy and the man that works at the main bar. Say hi to the bar dog if hes in :) Bartenders at the karaōke bar dont give a last call on putting in songs which is kind of a bummer. This is certainly a collegey divey non classy place but I like that. I dont feel like I have to dress up to go out and its always a good time. Sure it smells like a college bar and if youre a guy and need a toilet youre SOL, but they keep it fairly clean thanks to the guy that picks up cups all night and the girls bathroom always has TP. Also, most importantly, FREEPOPCORN and cheap drinks.
