Let’s face it, if you’re looking for a cute little restaurant with outdoor dining options as well, you’ve found your place. Rumor has it dinner is your best pick at this place as they also have weekend brunches and lunch. If you’re an inside diner, you’ll probably cozy up into one of their half booth /table combos. The décor is rather eclectic with a more modern vibe. You might opt to sit at the bar first, which is not a bad thing. They have a rather decent wine and fru-fru cocktail list. The service was friendly and definitely made our party of 7 feel welcome. We sampled the Kobe sliders, fried green tomatoes with goat cheese, and the crab cakes. All were tasty! I had the shrimp and artichoke dish that was atop a bed of asparagus. My husband had the fish special which happened to be grouper that night. They definitely have a wide assortment of dishes, enough to please everyone.

I went to Moasic and cannot understand why they would have a single poor review. The service, atmosphere and food were all amazing. We started with the crab cakes and sliders– both very good but did not hold a candle to the Filet Mignon and Shrimp & Artichoke dishes we had for our main course. Literally the best filet I’ve tried in years. Something got messed up with our check at the end but the waitress was so sweet and resolved it right away. I want to definitely come back soon. What is more romantic than a patio dinner under string lights? 5 stars for sure.

First, I like that they actually have a parking lot(that you don’t have to pay to park in). That’s so rare and refreshing for anywhere midtown/downtown/buckhead. The décor of this place is beautiful. I seriously felt like I was just at someone’s house. The outside eating area is beautiful also, very pleasant. Wish I could say the same about the food. I was there for an event and we had a buffet style brunch. Not sure if it was because the food was made in a mass quantity but… when I don’t go back for 2nds at a buffet… there’s a problem. Everything was meh. I finished my initial plate… mainly because I paid for it. However, I’d be willing to give this place another shot just off the beauty of it alone.

I had a great experience here. Sat on the wonderful patio under the shade of some big old trees. Ordered a Sweetwater 420 fig salad, and Kobe beef sliders. Loved the salad with sun dried figs. The sliders were very good as well. My waiter was very nice and knew the menu well. He gave me a history of the old house, very cool. Love these Buckhead restaurants in old houses.

I am being generous with this one, because the staff was friendly and nice. However, the food here is unimpressive to say the least. You need to be on your best game in Buckhead, given the variety of quality choices and this place is NOT. My friend and I each had their grilled pear salads, along with the dessert of carrot cake. The pears in the salad were cut thick and did not grill well at all. The carrot cake was straight from the shelf of Publix in my opinion. The cake was not moist or fresh tasting at all. The neighbors at the table next to us said the same thing. Mosaic better step up its quality big time or close their doors, because they will never make it like this. I, for one, will not waste my money here again.

It will be awhile before — or if — I return to Mosaic. The lovely Lee T. and I brunched there(well, sort of) today and it was just a big #fail. We were meeting at 12:30 and I got there first. Everything was wrong from the get-go. I walked in and Bob(I found his name out later, when I heard him answer the phone), greeted me with an almost unfriendly«Do you have a reservation?» Not«Hello!» or «Welcome to Mosaic» or anything similar. .. ok. .. No, I told him, I did not. Things got worse from there. «How many? Do you want a table?» Um, two and yes, please. He proceeded to tell me to wait there and walked around the(small) restaurant to assess options and then wave — literally — like we were at WaHo or such — from across the bar to indicate I should follow him to a table. Hmmm… I sat for 10 minutes and no one came by — not to ask about water, or coffee, or jack crap. So I got up and went to the bar, which only has six seats but I figured might be better attended. Bob: «What was wrong with your table?» Me: «No one came by and I thought maybe the bar would be easier for y’all»(translation: we’ll actually get service) Bob: «Aren’t you waiting on someone?» Me: «Uh, yes, but no one even came by with water and she’ll be here in a minute. Ok if we sit up here?» Bob: «I guess.» Let’s just say his attitude got worse from there. In the most obnoxious way — are you familiar with the word«obsequiousness?» — if not, here you go — he didn’t actually end up being our server but he assisted the girl with pink hair who did(sort of) wait on us when Lee arrived, just minutes later, and was over the top rude/fake polite.(«Can I get you some ketchup or condiments?! Ok, here you go!!») It was so extreme that Lee said to me — I hadn’t yet told her about our earlier exchanges — «does he seem incredibly fake and kind of rude or is it just me?» and«I saw him make a face behind your back.» Seriously? And then the food. All said, we were there about an hour and a half, which is not terribly long, but everything was just a little painful and slow, from our food arriving to Pink picking up the check. And my formerly beloved fried green tomato BLT was not nearly as good as in the past and I ate about 1⁄3 of it and maybe three fries(Pink also either doesn’t know the menu or is kind of dim because she had to ask whether they could sub another bread for rye when I know that’s how I’ve always ordered it in the past) and as Lee said when I asked how her omelet was — «it’s pretty much like an omelet, with veggies.» Meh. Neither of us would give ringing endorsements to anything about this meal except each other’s company.

Last Sunday I went to Mosaic with a friend for brunch. When we got there around 1:20, there were two other groups in the area we were being seated, making three of the four tables in the area full. The empty table had dirty dishes all over it. I ordered crab cake benedict and my friend ordered the breakfast burger — cooked medium with only lettuce and onion on it. After an hour of not getting our food and having no explanation as to why there was such a long wait, the food wasn’t great either. My crab cakes benedict had crab cakes the size of a silver dollar, cold hollandaise sauce, and hardly warm grits. My friend’s burger was well done and didn’t have the onion. We would have mentioned this, but we didn’t have another hour to wait. While eating, a bug flew into my face and I knocked it on the floor. When I said something to the waitress about it, she just laughed and then got rid of the bug after we suggested she do something about it. Remember the table that had dirty dishes on it when we were seated? Well, when we finally got to leave, all three other tables in the section still had dirty dishes on them. Our table cloth was also dirty. I have never experienced such horrible service without getting some kind of compensation for it. What’s sad is that I am culinary in culinary school and could see the potential this menu and restaurant has to be great. I wouldn’t go back there again unless someone was paying for me to. It was unfortunately very disappointing.

Worst service in recent memory! My husband and I went to Mosaic for a nice, relaxing night out. We ordered salads and our entrees. After 30 minutes, no food. Our server finally strolled by and we mentioned that our entrees would be out soon. We reminded her that we had ordered salads. 10 minutes later she returned and asked us, «Did you still want those salads?, Your dinners are ready.» Well, no, we don’t want them now. Our entrees were fine, nothing special. Perhaps we would have enjoyed them more if we had not been turned off my her lack of customer service. I will say that they comped my wine and one entrée. But the best part was at the end of the meal, while we sat waiting for the server to pick up our credit card to pay the bill, another server came out with our salads, ready to serve them! My husband and I were dumbfounded and said, «no thank you». While I appreciated them comping much of our meal, I would have been more appreciative of a proper apology or visit from the manager. So that was our first and last visit to Mosaic.

I had driven past MoSaiC dozens of times, but I never realized that it was a restaurant. So when a friend and I came across MoSaiC on Scoutmob, we decided to have lunch there and almost missed it since it’s an old house that has been converted into a restaurant. When we first walked in, we stood at the entrance for well over a minute before anyone even noticed we were there. It was a little after noon on a Thursday, and I had thought that they would probably be busy for lunch. Eventually, we were seated in a room on the right side from the entrance. There were two other tables of customers, so they definitely were not busy. The paper lunch menus were handed to us, and we ordered ice waters. I really liked that the menu was short and simple, so it was easy to choose what I wanted. With lunch prices ranging from $ 8 to $ 12, I thought that pricing was very reasonable considering it’s in Buckhead. I ordered the Buckhead Burger since the menu description made it sound really good. I also requested a side of BBQ sauce, and our server told me that she could bring me some of the new BBQ sauce that the chef was creating. My friend ordered a Caprese Salad. Then, we waited… …and waited… …for probably almost forty minutes. We had no idea what the hold up was because our server did not come back to update us or check on us after we placed the order. There was no apology for the delay or anything, either. When the food was served, we were excited to finally try it. * Buckhead Burger($ 10) — Per the menu description, the burger consisted of «chopped sirloin patty topped with portabello mushrooms, grilled onions, swiss cheese and demi glacé served on a croissant bun.» Normally, I don’t like onions, but I decided to try them in the burger since they’re grilled. The burger was cooked fine and was juicy, but it was a little too salty. I thought the fries were just«OK,» so the special BBQ sauce that I got on the side helped. As we were finishing up, we requested our check and informed our server of our Scoutmob deal. Fortunately, it didn’t take much time for her to process the payment, and an 18% gratuity was already included(as with many Scoutmob deals). With the Scoutmob deal, our lunch was super affordable. Overall, MoSaiC gets 2.5 stars(rounded up to 3) for their decent lunch at an affordable price for the Buckhead area. I like the location, was glad that parking was free, and appreciated the lunch menu and Scoutmob deal. However, they really need to do something about the service, which was just way too slow when they didn’t seem to be busy. I may return since it’s so close to my workplace, but probably not anytime soon. [Review 357 of 366]

Mosaic is a great little after-church brunch spot in Buckhead. Set off on a side street in an old converted house, it is cozy and convenient and has really wonderful food! The only drawback is the limited menu. For someone who doesn’t do seafood, the lunch options are in short supply. With that said, every dish we have had there is delicious and we are considering hosting our rehearsal dinner there since they can customize a menu for events. Worth stopping in!

The food at Mosaic is no doubt still delicious. That being said, the last two times I have been the service has been pretty terrible. On my most recent visit, it took almost two hours to have brunch when there were only about 6 other parties in the restaurant. That is entirely too long. The waitresses seemed to go back and forth between being extremely frantic and complete lethargic. In the two hours we were there we got one refill on coffee and one refill on water both of which I had to flag down the waitresses multiple times for. When the coffee refill finally came, it got spilled all over the table. There was no apology for the coffee flood of 2012 or our hour wait on food when it finally came. Mosaic is too pricey and adorable and tasty for this level of poor service. If Mosaic continues to have Scoutmob half off deals I will probably return because I think the food is so delicious, but I will be sure to expect a slow, drawn out meal.

Thank you Scoutmob for introducing me to such a nice, quaint restaurant! I plan on coming back and enjoying a nice lunch on their many patio tables when the weather warms up. There is even a fire pit too! On both visits here, I chose the 3 kobe beef sliders. It is absolutely juicy and delicious! I prefer my meat medium and always request them that way, but the cook always makes it well done. That’s fine because the meat is so juicy and tender and that slice of brie on it is the cherry on top! The service is pretty good but everytime i have visited there aren’t more than 3 other tables. Once you enter, it’s really hard to remember that you are half a block away from busy Peachtree Street and hectic Buckhead traffic!

Tried to go this Saturday at 1pm. My grandmother got there about 12:45pm and found a locked door. Someone came to the door and said they were getting ready to open. We ended up going to Buckhead Diner for a fine meal. The posted hours on the website say they open at 11:30am on Saturdays. Don’t plan to return.

Goodness, their Kobe Beef Sliders were stupid good. #Thatisall #devouredkobebeef I love that it’s served on Hawaiian sweet rolls and a bit of cheese. The beef was cooked medium well, but because it’s Kobe beef, it was perfect. It’s moist, juicy and melts in your mouth. As I’m Unilocaling about this, I’m also kicking myself in the butt for not ordering some to go. Arghh… Anyways, cute cottage that would have been mistaken for a clinic or some other type of business. I would have never guessed it was a restaurant. There is no lunch rush which was nice for us, not sure if they felt the same. Our waitress was pretty cool. I would definitely come back here, even with no scout mob!

Casual Elegance… describes this place perfectly to me. I went here one night because I had a Sweetjack voucher, and I am really glad that I did. The menu is seasonal, and farm to table, which I love. We sat in the far corner, under a tree because it had started to sprinkle, but we didn’t mind… and the waitress was really accommodating with the fact that we were fine to sit in light rain… that she had to walk through… every time… now that I think about it… we were kinda assholes for that… Sorry! The food was fantastic, the wine list great. They do a few unusual cocktails, but that it the norm for Atlanta these days. The chef came out and sat with us for a few minutes and listened to us gush about how much we enjoyed our dining experience and that was a nice cap to a lovely meal. We will eat here again and again.

As I closed my eyes and flicked back and forth through my Scoutmob app, I magically landed on Mosaic. I had read a review on this place some time ago in Creative Loafing, so I was semi excited to patronize the little gem. I was shocked that we were the only other table there for a Saturday brunch. I live near West Egg, and that place has people waiting before they even open on a Saturday. I digress. We began with two cocktails. I ordered some Blueberry/Lemon drop martini that was terrible, and my bf ordered a mint julep that was too sweet for his liking. I should have just stuck with the mimosa. Nothing stuck out to him on the menu, so he settled with the Kobe beef sliders. He wasn’t enthralled with the outcome, but he was satisfied. I ordered the french toast(which doesn’t come with a side for $ 9!!) with a side of bacon(one piece of bacon torn in half for an additional $ 3). Are they on crack! My companion and I may … and that’s a huge may … go back again since we still have another Scoutmob on his phone, and we want to sit outside once it warms up outside. Spending $ 30+ AFTERTHESCOUTMOB on a mediocre brunch is absurd. The quaint décor and hidden location in the city is hardly enough for us to run back anytime soon.

At this point, I’ve been to Mosaic twice and dined both indoors and outdoors. Although Mosaic is located quite close to busy Piedmont Rd, it feels very secluded and the noise and traffic never reaches this secluded little restaurant. I believe this place was a house before becoming its current incarnation, and it’s easy to see upon walking in. Cozy and homey are good ways to describe it. All that being said, I have to say I enjoyed eating outside on the patio better than inside, which got quite dark during the evening. I suppose that was for ‘ambiance,’ but a couple behind me had to use their cell phones’ backlights to get a proper look at the menu. The food at Mosaic is consistently good though — the first time I dined here I had the paella, which was excellent, and last night, I had the scallops which were also very good, although I was still not quite full afterwards since they came on a bed of wilted spinach and pancetta, which while tasty, wasn’t so filling. My companion had the spiced rib eye steak which he heartily enjoyed and finished off without much trouble. Also, the service was a bit sporadic this past time. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive right at the beginning but we couldn’t seem to catch his eye once we’d decided on our entrees for the night. And after that he completely missed that our water glasses were empty for a good bit of time. And I’m very glad I got to redeem my ScoutMob coupon — took a little off the bill, which always feels good. Other than those few downsides, though, I enjoy Mosaic, and I’ll probably be back in the good weather.

MoSaiC is a good option if you’re looking for a charming, low-key meal in Buckhead. I came here with a couple friends for Saturday lunch and sat on the patio. We had a fun time. The restaurant is tucked away on a Buckhead side street(Maple Drive), close to the intersection of Peachtree and Piedmont. MoSaiC is quaint and cozy and resides inside a renovated cottage. The interior has colorful walls, artwork at every turn, and a beautiful mosaic tile bar. Outside are several tables where you can dine underneath the shade of the trees. Since the restaurant is located on a side street with little traffic, the patio experience is pleasant. We came around noon and were given both the brunch and lunch menu. MoSaiC serves casual American fare and the menu changes seasonally. I tried the following: Fried green tomato grilled cheese sandwich Tandoori tilapia Sweet potato chicken hash The fried green tomato grilled cheese sandwich was delicious. It was served with melted Swiss cheese and grilled sourdough bread and also came with a small side salad. You can opt in fries instead of a salad. The tandoori tilapia came out piping hot. The filet was placed on top of a bed of rice with yellow curry, scallions, and vine ripe tomatoes with tzatziki yogurt on top. The rice was coconut-scented. Overall, a light dish with tender fish and fragrant curry. The sweet potato chicken hash was my least favorite of the above entrees. It came out cold, I’m guessing because it was prepared first and sat out while the other two dishes were being prepared. The sweet potatoes were good, but the chunks of chicken were unappetizing. I wasn’t crazy about the seasoning either, but the poached eggs were great. The employees were friendly, courteous, and attentive. Chelsea was on top of everything.

What a sub-par experience!!! I went with 3 other couples for dinner mid-week. The service could not have been less and the food was barely better. Three couples brought their own wine, and corkage was $ 25/bottle. I’d expect that at the Ritz, and not even Buckhead Group charges more than $ 15! Anyway, the server(I’m dignifying him by calling him that – he’s more like an order clerk), began to recite the evening specials, BEFORE serving anyone their wine, OR taking cocktail orders from anyone, OR before serving us water!!! It was impossible to hear anyone in the restaurant due to the design of the small rooms. Of course the check came and 20% service was already included in the bill, on top of the tax!!! And did anyone tell us; one couple didn’t know and began to leave a tip, until it was pointed out to them by a dining companion that it was already included. Having the tip included might not have been too bad except that our server was hardly around to take care of us. My side order of vegetable was forgotten, and it was next to impossible to get anyone to service our table. I will not return!!!

Went here last night for a pre-Valentines date. We had reservations and were seated immediately. Our waitress was very attentive and patient as she let us sample various wines before deciding on a bottle to order. While the ambience is aesthetically pleasing,(a quaint old home, warm red walls, dark and candlelit) I felt a bit awkward sitting in a small room in straight-backed chairs with other diners sitting very close by, eyes darting around and overhearing conversations. Kind of cold/cramped layout. The kobe beef sliders were served on obviously store bought generic dinner rolls. Normally this would aggravate me(considering the price) HOWEVER the beef tasted so good, it didn’t matter. Perfect seasoning and sauce, the brie was creamy and a perfect pairing for the meat. The entrees were definitely overpriced. The tandoori tilapia was OK. It came with rice. That’s it. I was craving some kind of vegetable, some crisp, or some tangy flavor to offset the dullness of the rice and saltiness of the fish. No such luck. The crème brûlée was good, but the portion was very small. All in all, my date summed it up best: «Good food, but I don’t think the prices are at all justified.»
