Missy is amazing! I started having engine issues while driving, called her with questions and concerns and eventually dropped my car off at her shop. She was a great communicator and it was such a pleasure interacting with her. Had my car fixed the very next day and her pricing is extremely reasonable! I’ve decided to make her my go-​to mechanic forever.

Speedy, helpful, friendly, accommodating and well priced. I personally think that’s all a review needs to be. But Unilocal just told me no. I talked to two different people on the phone throughout this repair process and they were both courteous and informative and never even remotely pushy. Driving my car back home it felt smooth and better than before. I will be making this Favorite mechanic my new go to when I need it.

If u like overpriced bad results, this is the place for you. It took me a while to realize that this place was a bum deal.
They WAY over charged me for a full brake/​rotor/​flush job. For $ 869 I got squeaky brakes. (which r just plain embarrassing) they tried to fix it twice then they gave up. My new Macanic told me they used noisy semi-​metallic pad which can be very problematic.
Again they quoted me $ 525 to replace my radiator in my 2004 suv. Which oddly showed up broken shorty after they replaced a radiator hose using non-​factory clamps that were over tightened. I took my Radiator elsewhere and got it fixed for $ 275.
Furthermore, around the same time I ran into their Macanic at greens liquor store buying the biggest cheapest vodka he could find at lunch time on a Wednesday. I had an event, I wonder what his excuse is. That explains a lot.
Only good thing is the Girl working the counter. I pity u if u ever have to deal with the owner Carrie. She is excessively rude and ignorant to her customers needs.

This review is for their customer service. I brought my car in and they diagnosed the problem but aren’t set up to do exhaust repairs. They were super apologetic but gave great recommendations to ensure I got what I needed from a different reputable shop. There was no charge to me despite all the time they put in. I have such respect for their work ethic and the desire to be good human beings!

Amazing staff. I was passing through town and my ac cut out. Not only did they squeeze me in on short notice but they had the car fixed in no time. Their prices were very fair and they couldn’t have been nicer! Highly recommend!

We have been using this place for years. They are very trustworthy and do a great job.

The guys do good work and stand by it. I’ve taken cars to them for a few years now, and the one time I had a problem (water pump on a Dodge) it was a known-​to-​recur issue with that model, and they re-​performed the repair at no charge. It was still a hassle, but it was Dodge’s fault, not the mechanic’s. All other jobs have been trouble-​free.

My Favorite Mechanic is a Woman … even though they’ve changed the name somewhat. I am as automotively-​challenged as one can be. It’s been a number of years since I first took my old Camry to MFM and not once in all that time have I ever had a problem or felt the need to question the work that was performed or the cost therefor. When I purchased my «new» used car, Missy and her crew here went over it with a fine-​tooth comb and not only gave me a list of possible repairs that should be made, but a timeline showing each repair in order of importance and the likely cost. Any questions I have are answered with all the patience required when addressing a person whose auto knowledge begins and ends with «Insert key here.» In short, if MFM ever goes out of business, I will have to give up driving.

I can’t recommend this place enough. This is where I bring my cars when I need something done quick, correctly, and without high cost. You can trust they get the job done and won’t pull a fast one.

I had taken my car to another place to see about getting a squealing belt fixed. They told me it would cost around $ 800. This past week, my oil pressure gauge light was malfunctioning. For less than $ 250, they fixed the gauge light, solved the belt problem, and tuned up my engine that had previously been causing my car to buck. Missy communicated with me perfectly, as I was out of town throughout the majority of the process, and I felt informed and taken care of! This is where I will return, for sure.

This place is great. The owner/​manager is incredibly helpful. My repairs ended up costing a lot less than the estimate. My truck (which has over 200,000 miles on it) drives like a dream now. While fixing other things, the mechanics found one issue that requires a repair that’s not affordable for me right now. Since I can’t pay to have the repair done, they managed it so that the problem wouldn’t get any worse while I save up the money. They also found a few small things that were rattling around and fixed them for free. I am so glad I found this place! Will definitely be returning.

I’ve been taking cars here for years and referring friends here for years. My favorite thing about them is that I’ve never felt overcharged, over diagnosed or under served. I sincerely trust this place. The owner even took some time one day to explain and show me what a locking lugnut was. It’s not pretty on the inside, so if you are looking for a place to go and sit and watch HDTV while you wait, this is not the place for you. If you want a place operated by real folks that you can trust then I’d recommend this place.

When you move to a new city you’re dealt with the burden of having to reestablish yourself in a new environment. Which doctor’s office should I go to? Where’s the nearest post-​office, and where in the world do I go if my car breaks down?
Let me at least save you the trouble of tediously searching for a new mechanic. My Favorite is officially my favorite. Today, I came in with a misfiring cylinder and asked for a standard tune-​up. Customer service was excellent, Missy at the desk visited with me several times to let me know the status of my vehicle and informed me of other possible causes for the misfire.
Great staff, friendly, and excellent prices. I wholeheartedly recommend!

I’m upgrading to five stars. It is just so nice to have a mechanic that I can trust, and they demonstrate that quality time after time.
Last time I had my Pathfinder in there for a noise coming from the vicinity of the transmission, they took a look, determined it was probably a bearing starting to complain but after polling their mechanics, recommended that I wait until it gets worse. No charge for that advice. Plus, when I was driving out, I noticed the ‘check engine’ light was on (I hadn’t mentioned that to them). Their mechanic came out, hooked up to the vehicle’s computer, determined it was a bad temperature sensor signal, found a broken wire, butt-​spliced it, verified the computer was now happy and sent me on my way in fifteen minutes time. The charge for that? Zip, although I offered.
The independent car repair business is tough, and it doesn’t help that a lot of people have no clue about how their cars work, and break. I do, but my arthritic back doesn’t allow me to work on cars anymore. That and the fact that modern cars are beyond me technically (I’m a set the points and valves kind of guy) makes me happy to have these people close by.
By the way, the name of the business is now My Favorite Automotive.

I live right around the corner which is such a plus! I can walk to a mechanic! I brought my car here for a few years and was happy with the service– although more expensive than other places. I thought they were really honest until the last time I was in. They said I needed new breaks and estimated $ 400 for my old car. I said I wanted a second opinion and took my car to Just Breaks. The guy at just breaks showed me that my breaks were in good condition and that no work need to be done. I kinda couldn’t believe it! I wanted to confirm this so I had some friends that know about cars look at my breaks and they agreed. My breaks were in good form!
Also, be aware! They have left tools in my engine as well. I actually still have a huge flashlight (that I should probably return) that was left in my engine. I found it there a week after an oil change. Also, they broke the handle off my dip-​stick when changing the oil and never said anything about it. Sorry guys! You were my go to place, but you treated my bad. I hope you read this and you improve!

Ok I put this in not looking at some recent reviews… I again have to say that the people making complaints about this place are obviously a) cheap as crap and b) have no idea what it takes to be in the repair business.
I have no connection to this business other than being a client and I can tell you, by now I would know if they were scamming folks.
When someone says its time to get the timing belt changed doesn’t mean they are trying to scam you. It means that your car has reached a mileage that usually requires a timing belt change. I know that most people are clueless what happens when a timing belt breaks but let me just tell you its not good. Think of metal being launched at alarming speeds into other metal. Now imagine that inside your motor. So next time a mechanic says «You need you timing belt changed.» and you just got it changed, just be a human and say «Thanks for looking out for me, I just had it changed.» They are not going to yell at you. They will just say «Ok.» Like they probably did at MFM. Chances are they probably said «When was the last time you had it changed?» Some people just don’t listen…
Now for the original review…
I hear a lot of people saying this garage is overpriced or they don’t get things fixed. I categorically do not agree.
This is my third major repair on the same car (different problems, I blame nissan) and they havn’t let me down yet. This time I thought maybe people were right and I was going to have to go elsewhere. However, it turns out they beat the competition by hundreds. I won’t go elsewhere.

Well to update they did seemingly fix my car so far… It took them three cracks at the problem before they got it right. Allow me to digress after the 2^nd attempt I came to pick up the car and again it wouldn’t start. I thence walked back in only to have the receptionist give me the look we knew that was going to happen — she also said it was wanting to start and we were having trouble with it too. So why did you call me telling me it was fixed???
In any event they never offer to refund any of the cost from the first two fixes. Full price to fix was 1750 when it should have been 400 dollars. I’m still debating if I should cancel the funds on my credit card — I wouldn’t — but I also won’t go there again.

My biggest worry when I moved was finding an honest garage. In Tampa, I’d been taking my car to the same shop for ten years. Now that I’m in Atlanta, I’m happy to have found another honest shop at My Favorite Mechanic Is A Woman.
How do I know they’re honest? First, they’ve consistently refused to make promises they might not be able to live up to. They won’t promise to have a job done by a certain time, but their guesses are usually pretty good.
Another sign of an honest garage is a lot full of cars and no coupons or discounts. An oil change would be cheaper elsewhere, but My Favorite Mechanic consistently has plenty of customers. They’ve got to be doing good work in order to attract that much business without coupons.
What I really love is that they’ve turned away my business on occasion when they felt they couldn’t do what I needed. Yesterday at 3pm, for example, I asked them to figure out why water was spilling onto my floorboards. They said they couldn’t promise to do anything before Tuesday because they’d already committed to other customers leaving for the Labor Day weekend. Call tomorrow morning, they said, and let’s see what our workload looks like. They also gave me a tip: it’s probably the A/​C drain.
So I went home and took off the glove compartment, and verified that it’s definitely the A/​C drain. I called as they were opening, told them I saw the water coming out of the cooling unit, and they said «Come on in.»
Which brings me to my last point: the location is great. It’s a short walk to a MARTA station, and there are two coffee-​and-​wifi places (at least) within a few blocks. So if I’ve got a morning full of things to do, I can walk a block or two and get cracking while my car goes to rehab.

I took my car here once, upon first moving to town in ’93. I thought it was so cool to have a shop run by women. The joke was on me.
They performed bogus work & charged twice what the next mechanic did to fix it. I decided to never go back, & have stuck to it.
I’m convinced they’re still the same, because whenever I pass by with a friend, it’s inevitable a comment will be made about what a rip-​off they are.
