Walking through Little 5 made we want to try it out. I was here on a visit with my wife. The place looked cool and the menu sounded great so we checked it out. MEH! When you walk in you get a vibe from the combinations of the fake food truck and graffiti on the walls, TV’s, furniture etc you start to think this place is trying to hard to grab some sort of authenticity. It’s very forced but feels over the top and fake. Not anywhere near as cool or close to Elmyr which is across the street. We went for lunch and the bartender brought us a menu and an ant crawled off of it. Not a great sign. The Korean style taco was OK but not amazing. We only had a taco but to be honest that was enough. I really didn’t feel comfortable in there and it’s odd because I have no problem elsewhere in Little 5. Place had a shady feel to it.

The most unorganized«restaurant» I’ve ever been to, which is a shame because the tacos are excellent. They just need to get the rest of their game tight. We came in on a Saturday night before a show at the Variety Playhouse and sat at the bar, which was a lucky break. We ended up at the bar because I wasn’t sure if it was an order at the counter place, or a waiter service place. Even by the end of the meal this wasn’t clear. There was only one dude working(taking orders, making«drinks», and running food) which led to long wait times for ordering, getting food, and getting drink refills. This particular night they were not serving any alcohol(despite the full bar; I assume it’s liquor license issues), didn’t have chicken tacos, and were also out of shrimp tacos. This REALLY limits your food choices. And at one point they were so overloaded they stopped taking any orders for 20 minutes. A bunch of people walked out due to the wait and lack of options. The steak and pork tacos we ended up with were excellent! Lots of seasoning and flavor and cooked really well. This place needs to 1) Hire more people, 2) Figure out their liquor license problems, 3) Make sure they have enough food, and 4) Learn how to handle larger volumes of people on weekend nights. Sad to see a place with good food fail on so many other levels.

I was wondering through Little 5 points and wanted some food, but was unsure on what I wanted. As soon as walked past this place I knew I wanted fish tacos. I had the fish taco and the calamari taco from here. This was the best fish taco that I’ve ever had. Had a lot of flavor and it came out hot. I’d never tried a calamari taco until I visited here, but was pleasantly surprised at how good it tasted. The waiter was cool and the food was great. Highly recommended

We dropped by here for a quick bite before heading across the street to 7 Stages to see a play. I’m pretty familiar with the whole taco-Korean fusion thing(Yumbii food truck, Takorea, etc), but this was my first time at OMG Taco. This was my boyfriend’s first introduction to it, though I’ve been threatening to take him to Takorea for a while now. Once I spied the bi bim bap on the menu I knew what I was ordering with the spicy pork and friend egg. To take a taste of everything he got a spicy pork taco, steak taco and chicken taco. The place is nothing special inside(it reminds me a little of a less efficient Chipotle): stainless steel chairs and tables and a bar running along the wall with more seating, non-descript art work on the walls and one person working the register(which resembles a food truck front). I agree with other Unilocalers, that our order took longer than expected to come up, but what can you do? I enjoyed the bi bim bap a good bit because it was more salad-y and less rice-y than what you’d get from your average Korean restaurant. Lots of lettuce with a scoop of white rice buried beneath, a fried egg over medium on top with spicy pork(a good bit of spice too). My boyfriend’s tacos were good too — much more stuffed than you’d normally expect for a taco. He ended up enjoying the steak taco the most, but definitely liked the flavor of the Korean BBQ pork as well. And lucky for us, it came out in time that we could eat then walk right across the seat to see the show. Good for convenient, quick-er food in Little Five Points if nothing else.

OMG Taco, my unreliable but delicious mistress. To preface, even though there are a million reasons not to go here, the food will keep you coming back. Here is the secret to enjoying OMGTACO: Take advantage of their late hours(but not too late, because they tend to close the kitchen before they actually close). Eat here after you leave the bar, but before you go home. I think the entire staff follows the night owl sleep schedule, as they can’t open on time, and when they finally do open the doors, they more than likely still don’t have what you want prepared. And if they do have what you want, it will be more expensive than the online or printed out menu you already had. They also will not answer the phone for anything, so you must go order and wait in person. Again, this would be fine if they had consistent hours, prices, or available dishes, but since you have to go down there it can be irritating. The pros: –The food is delicious. It was even the first thing I ate after a 2-day detox and still amazing. –If no one else is there your food is ready fast. –I have kimchi added to my taco and there doesn’t seem to be any sort of extra charge. In short, it’s like that awful ex-boyfriend that your friends are mad you still talk to, but you can’t help yourself.

I’m not entirely sure how the name«OMG Taco» correlates to Korean tacos, but I guess if you’re just looking for a catchy name that aspires to simply grab attention and attempt to spark those impulse diners, it does a fairly adequate job of doing that. Located just a hair off of the L5P intersection, OMG Taco is easy for tourists and locals to locate and get to. Being L5P, parking is always suspect, and fairly limited to sporadic street parking, paid lots, or that tiny lot off of Seminole behind most of the shops and the Vortex. You should probably have an idea of what you’re walking into just from everything you’d know about location, area and outdoor décor, but I don’t say that as if it’s a bad thing or anything. Upon walking in, there’s a fairly well-stocked bar, and a few high tables, and a slightly larger dining area that looks more like assimilation of the property next door. Either way, it’s kind of divey, slightly more along the clean side if you can get around the dim lighting. The walls are painted colorfully, and there are sporadic defaced dollar bills stapled and taped to them. The menu is simple and small, and I ended up trying a variety between beef, fish and calamari. Fries on the side. The time it took for the food to come out was suspiciously on the long side, but at least it came out promptly upon completion, because I could hear the bell in the kitchen ding. As for the food itself, I don’t really think claiming to be Korean tacos is fairly accurate. Sure, the beef had likely jar-prepped bulgogi seasoning, but I could hardly taste it at all. To OMG’s credit, the tacos are generously filled with slaws, sauces and spices, but in the big picture, it kind of drowns out the flavor of the meat. The purported kimchi on top of the beef taco was oddly mushy, and more like the stewed variety that my parents made growing up over the stinky-pickled and crunchy kimchi that anyone could get at an H-Mart. The fish and calamari tacos I wouldn’t have declared to have been Korean tacos at all. They were both good and also generously filled, but there weren’t really any discernable Korean flavors from them. The fries though, I have to say I really liked. They were beer-battered, so they were super crispy and had a lot of good flavor. Honestly, the fries alone would be great beer-sponge food to eat if I were to go there for some drinks one day. And speaking of fried, OMG’s fried Oreos were pretty great. How fried Oreos fit onto a menu with purported Korean tacos is completely beyond me, but whatever, if it’s just a ploy to get people to impulsively come in, so be it. But OMG executes as well as most country fairs and the places in Las Vegas where I get fried oreos, and when you bite through the battered shell, the cookie and Oreo frosting inside are more or less a gooey mess. And something about the fried batter kind of mutes the typical sweetness into something a little more savory overall. Prices are fair. $ 3 – 3.25 per taco, you’re paying more than like a Taqueria del Sol, but you’re getting bigger packed tacos out of it. I left full and guilty, and the people working there were nice enough, and not trying to be too condescending hipster like so many in L5P do. I’m on the bubble if I’d go again; the fries and the fried Oreo might be good enough, but the tacos themselves I wasn’t that impressed with.

Korean BBQ Tacos… yes it does exist and who would have thought it’s delicious! place reminds me of an alternative, hipster dive bar. The best taco was the chicken, followed by the steak, and I would skip the pork. They are on the sweet side and definitely yummy. The lemonade my friend got was watery so we got it switched for what we thought was apple juice, but it was had carbonation so maybe Apple Cider? Staff was friendly. I would say it’s a good cheap eats if you’re on the move and need to dine and dash. BUT is $ 3.00 a taco really cheap if Chipotle is $ 6.00 for 3 tacos… hmmmmhmm guess you’re paying for the hipster, Korean part at lil 5 points. Enjoy!

I shoulda known from the prior Unilocal reviews, but figured I’d give it a shot anyhow. I think this place was a sushi bar last time I was there. So, we walked in, I was feeling a little rough from the night before, and the bartender wanted to chat me and my lady friend up, we left the bar and found some seats. Our bartender/waiter, said we had to try the fries. Got them, not impressed. Alsw ordered some shrimp tacos. Took a while to get them, and nothing special. There is really not much reason for me to continue this review. I’m down for this taco craze, but this place just didin’t do it for me. May try it again sometime, but doubtful.

This past Saturday was my 2nd time eating here. The first time was last year sometime after it opened. I can’t remember what I ordered exactly(well I know for sure I got the OMG Fries), but I know I looooved it! I thought the fries were just amazing then. But this 2nd time around… Meh. I ordered just the OMG fries again, and I felt like they weren’t as great. The Hybrid taco concept is a cool one(and I love that they support local artists!) but, It’s not being executed as well as I think it could be.

I don’t taste the Korean part to any of these tacos. The prices are also slightly bumped up from the online menu(unless they’ve matched them now) and the short rib tacos weren’t on the menu when I went :( I had a fish taco which was sub-par… Good, but not amazing. My friend enjoyed the steak taco more, and it had a bit more flavor but nothing special. The waiter also accidentally erased our order so it took quite a while but he was really nice and gracious, so the service is definitely a plus. Just not sure I’d be back…

Location: Small dine-in/fast food joint in 5 Points Parking: Street parking/Paying parking lots Food: Delicious Korean-tacos Service: Self-service Although my last experience was not the most pleasant experience, I always have to stop by OMG Taco when visiting 5 points. The décor/atmosphere of the restaurant is not the best but it’s surely the best Korean-Mexican infused restaurant in Atlanta(I’ve tried all the others). Try their OMG fries, it has a unique sauce on top of fries and veggies. And you can’t go wrong with any of the tacos. It’s such a delight little treat for an affordable price. And please note, they have made some changes to the sauce options. Instead of being able to choose from OMG, OMFG, and so on… Now, everything only comes with once sauce, OMG I believe. This was how my last experience went. Some lady, claiming to be a regular, argued about the sauce that had came with the fish taco. I don’t remember but I guess fish tacos might have came with a different sauce? In the midst of the complaining lady, the bartender,(the only person that was taking the order in the restaurant at the time), managed to take our order. After all the other orders that had came out, my tacos were no where to be found. When I went back to the bartender looking for my food, it ends up that he had left my order. I was little flustered along with being extremely hungry. That left a little bitterness in my mouth and the food didn’t taste as good it had been in the past so I’m hoping that the next visit, there won’t be any distractions nor mishaps that will affect my enjoyment of the food.

OMG Taco opened last summer in Little Five. The OMG stands for«Oh! Mmm… Gogi!» Gogi meaning«meat» in Korean. Yes, these are Korean tacos inspired by the Kogi Korean BBQ food trucks in LA. It didn’t take long for this craze to hit Atlanta with Hankook Taqueria(Westside) and Yumbii(food truck). OMG Taco is a worthy competitor. The restaurant is located in the heart of L5P. This little taco shop fits in perfectly with the neighborhood with its artistic and alternative style. Local artists contributed art, either painted directly on the wall(murals) or on canvas, and music for the restaurant. Unlike Hankook, OMG has a bar that serves all sorts of adult beverages. Check their specials board outside for some creative deals. Food-wise, OMG’s menu is pretty simple: tacos, quesadillas, burritos, and fries. They also serve bibimbap(Korean mixed rice), known here as the«OMG Naked Bowl.» At $ 6, it’s a good deal. Since this is Korean fusion, expect to see the likes of short rib, spicy pork, tofu, and kimchi inside your Mexican tortilla. OMG serves flour tortillas only. I’ve tried the short rib, spicy pork, and fish tacos. All are decent. If it’s your first time trying a Korean taco, I recommend the short rib. It’s the safest bet. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like Korean short ribs. They have a sweet flavor to them. The pork in the spicy pork taco isn’t too spicy. As for the fish taco, the fish is crispy and there is a small amount of tartar sauce included. One thing I like about the tacos here is that they are not messy. At a lot of authentic taco shops, the juices just start spilling out of my taco as soon as I pick it up. Not here. Each taco is $ 2.50, except for the fish, which is $ 3. So the prices are very reasonable. The bibimbap is not bad and it is better than the one served at Hankook in both quality and quantity. You get a healthy amount at OMG. Think the size of one whole Styrofoam container(about 1⁄3 bigger than Hankook). Ingredients(rice, meat, veggies, egg) are basic, plentiful, and fresh. At OMG, you can get regular fries, «OMG Fries,» and«OMFG Fries.» The latter two versions are fries that are smothered in a variety of toppings, including slaw, sauce, cheeses, kimchi, and the meat of your choice. Obviously, not the healthiest item on the menu. These are OK to munch on, but I prefer filling my belly with an extra taco instead. Staff is friendly and helpful. If you need to use the restroom, you have to request the key from the bartender. Parking is the same anywhere you go in L5P. If you want to park for free, just park along any of the neighborhood side streets. Metered parking and pay lots are closer. Walking is better for you anyway.

Frustrating. There was absolutely nothing I could eat here as everything has cilantro in it. The lettuce has cilantro already mixed in, so does the cabbage. What the hell. To about ~10% of the population, Cilantro tastes like soap, so why would you pre-mix all of your greens with it? This didn’t bother me too much, as I’ve run into this problem before, but they offered no other solution besides going somewhere else. Even with Scoutmob, which I’m semi-obsessed with using at new places, I could not find a way to spend any money there.

Came here with the bf and his brother. We ordered 2 spicy pork burritos, 1 spicy pork taco with omfg topping, and the omg fries. The spicy pork is more sweet than spicy, which I loved(big sweet tooth here) but both of the guys didn’t quite care for it. It kind of tastes like cha siu dumplings if you’ve ever gotten them at dim sum. Nothing that some sriracha sauce couldn’t fix! The fries were great: crispy on the outside, with just enough chew. Also a little sweet though. In general, don’t order the spicy pork if you don’t like sweet food. As for service, the girl who took our order was very friendly and helpful with the menu, but the food took longer than expected to come out considering that we were the 2nd order after they opened for the day.

A more down to earth spot in the eclectic Little 5 Points neighborhood, OMG Taco was a nice place to take a break from walking around & enjoy a snack. Tried the fish taco & loved it. Normally, I eat my fish tacos with grilled fish, but this one was fried with beer batter, and it was delicious, adding good flavor and texture to the taco. I’m a pretty big fan of Korean taquerias in general, but if you aren’t, you will still enjoy the fish taco.

I think one’s experience at OMG Taco depends on one’s previous experience with Mexican/Korean BBQ fusion food. If you have never had Mexican/Korean BBQ or Korean BBQ at all, I think you’d like OMG Taco. It’s definitely got mass appeal and it’s a nice change to the normal dining routine. Having eaten Korean/Mexican tacos off the streets of LA, OMG Taco, in my opinion, has room for improvement. My main complaint is the freshness quality of the food. The vegetables were all wilted and dry and looked like they had been sitting around all week. Although the meat was good, its over-bearing sweetness masked the actual freshly cooked flavor of the meat and sometimes had me guessing if I was eating chicken, pork, or beef. I didn’t order any toppings on my dishes, but I don’t see why you would need to. It’s already so heavily flavored. However, I was still satisfied with my food and the price is very reasonable. I recommend the kimchi quesadilla and the chicken taco. My friend liked his taco but didn’t really like the short rib burrito. I want to add an extra star just for the concept and potential, but I gotta take away one for the tacky décor. I wasn’t really feeling the whole«street grafitti» theme. I guess I can understand that they’re trying to create a street vendor type atmosphere, but they’re an actual restaurant. So put in some actual tables where people can sit.

Ok, I am Korean(ok, Korean American if you’re picky). I know good Korean food. I *think* I know good Mexican food. Putting Korean and Mexican food together? BONUS. We had the OMFG chicken tacos, which were great. A lot of flavors, so your palette may get overwhelmed at first. GETTHEOMFGFRIES. OMFG! Fries with kimchee, whatever meat, and IDK what else, but they’re so damn good. But go there HUNGRY. And willing to wait. Because there will probably be a line. Also, there doesn’t seem to be any AC or it’s broken. HOT. Finally, listen closely for your name to be called over the loudspeaker. Because you might miss it, the quality is so crap!

I was fairly disappointed with my recent visit to OMG. Being a big fan of Hankook, I was excited to try the new Korean taco fusion joint in town, but OMG didn’t quite measure up. Before I go into what I ordered, it should be noted that OMG uses corn tortillas. While corn tortillas are great for authentic Mexican tacos, I didn’t think they mixed with well with the sweet and spicy Korean flavors. Now that we got that tidbit out of the way, I ordered the following: * Short Rib Taco w LOL sauce — The short rib was very tasty. I thought the meat tasted better than Hankook’s bulgogi, but advantage Hankook for everything else and for the taco overall. * Spicy Pork Taco w LOL sauce — Did they really prepare the pork in their chili paste and garlic? If I was blindfolded, I would’ve guessed I was eating an al pastor taco from a Mexican taqueria. The use of the corn tortilla actually worked in the taco’s favor because the pork tasted like Mexican al pastor. Also, it wasn’t spicy. Both tacos were lacking in quantity of meat. OMFG Super Fries — They basically took everything they have in the kitchen(sauce, slaw, cheese, kimchi) and threw it on top of their fries. These were pretty tasty(how could they not be?), but I don’t think they are worth the $ 5 especially considering the portion size. I expect a $ 5 order of fries to be large and magical. Now for the non-food related negatives: * The line to order tacos moves impeccably slow. It was frustratingly slow! This is because their ordering process isn’t very clear which causes customers to have questions once they finally arrive at the ordering window. You choose your taco AND a topping for each taco. They have 4 toppings to choose from, 3 of which include mayo or tartar sauce… gross! * They ask for a funny nickname which they will call out when your order is ready. I’m all for having fun, but this was weak. I know you’re wondering what nickname I used. I used Spud after my favorite athlete of all time Spud Webb. Not very funny, but I did well considering they put you on the spot. FYI for the parents out there — there were several ear muff worthy nicknames being used. * The bar doesn’t open until 3:00, even on Saturdays. I’m not sure what’s up with that. All I wanted was to wash down my lunchtime tacos with a PBR. * It was warm in the restaurant. Although you’re trying to emulate ordering from a taco truck, you don’t need to not turn on the AC to make it feel I’m outside in the hot Atlanta summer. I’ll give them another shot because they are new and working out the kinks, but as it stands right now, Hankook eats their lunch(yes, pun intended).

OMG Taco kept leaving us saying«OMG» and«WTF» LITERALLY but probably NOT for the right reasons. What a nightmare! — 730: Get there, find out their credit card machines are not working, go get cash. — 740: Stand back in line — 750: First person in our party orders. They are out of Pico, so there are no «WTF» Tacos. — 755: Were told the computers have gone down and it will be 15 minutes till the rest of our party can order. In the meantime, we overhear the owner tell the staff that the computers are not really down but the kitchen staff needs time to catch up. — 810: The second part of our group orders. — 835: The second part of our party gets their food. It’s wrong. I take the receipt up to the owner Bruce and he argues with me. First he said I did not order kimchee. Then he says I already GOT kimchee. I did not. I know what Kimchee is, I spent a lot of time in Korea… and I am not an idiot. But he argued with me and then acted like he was doing me a favor by giving me a side of kimchee. — 840: The first person in our party goes up and politely says she thinks she has been skipped because the rest of us ordered 15 minutes after her and we already got our food. He then argued with HER! He said there was no way she did not get her food because she ordered it an hour ago according to her receipt. Then he said it was going to be a while because he would have to make it from scratch. Um… these are tacos, right? –850: The first person in our party gets her food but it told they have run out of fries so her order is just incomplete. They sub a pork taco which was not good. Other things to note: — The tofu is cold and pretty squishy — The kimchee has fish sauce in it(beware vegetarians) — The OWNER is horrible. He was mean to his staff right in front of us and argued with us when they messed up our orders. When the«computers went down» he did not tell the growing line of frowning new customers. The only reason we knew is that were right at the counter. — The OMG fries were good(thank god we ordered them in our second order too, so we shared). I will try this place once more after they have been open for at least a month to see if they can get their«WTF» together!

Nom Nom Nom… Korean tacos!!! Awesome addition to the L5P area. I never really chose to eat in little 5 before. I used to just grab drinks and snacks at the porter or get really filthy and jam a double bypass down my gullet. Now i can have the best of both worlds with OMG being open. It’s a funky place with a lot of street art all over the façade and interior. Seems like they took the taco trucks so popular in L.A. and brought it over to Atlanta. I know they’re not the first, but so far they’re doing it the best. Wasn’t really too fond of Hankook taqueria so OMG was a nice surprise. They have a small menu, but they give options with the toppings. All the meat options are taken from Korean staples such as spicy pork, marinated short ribs, chicken, fish, and even tofu. One of my favorite additions is the ability to add fried kimchi to any of the above tacos or burritos. I swear to god if I still did drugs I would be here all day and night. Fuck Cheetos! I went with a group of 6 and we pretty much ordered multiples of everything on the menu. My favorite was the spicy pork taco and burrito. It’s a good mix of a little sweet and spicy. Their Fries were also orgasmic. They topped it with spicy pork bits, lettuce, a cool white sauce, and lettuce. The amazing thing is that with all these toppings the fries were still crispy! Loved it!!! The bar is cool. They have the usual suspects of Blue moon and PBR, but since it’s inspired by Korean tacos they also have sochu(soju) available. the bartenders are not afraid of trying funky mixes with them. It’s a dangerous mix because sometimes the concoctions are so sweet you slam them down without realizing how strong they are. Trust me… the Sochu hangover is mean bitch in the morning. Now i need a nap…
