Being claustrophobic and having had a horrific experience at St. Joseph’s MRI, these things freak me out no matter what I do. Even Open MRIs are not THAT open, so someone with my level of fear at this point, even an Open MRI is like Chinese Water Torture. Last week I had my 3rd trip to Opensided MRI of Atlanta and once again they took excellent care of me! The beauty of this place is that not only do they put on a radio station you prefer(since the death of 99X, there isn’t a good radio station for me in Atlanta), but they let someone sit with you — right next to you, in fact — through the entire procedure. This way, someone can keep talking to you about weddings and parties and family visiting you and keep your mind off the giant machine that could crush you at any moment! The staff is also very friendly, very respectful of your feelings, fears, etc. and they do everything they can to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. So if you have to get an MRI and you prefer an Open one, go to Hospital Row and you will find the nicest folks to help you get the scans you need!
