I really enjoy Boot camp at Mercer. It offers me the friendly encouragement to strive to do better. I used to think that walking several miles a week was enough to keep in shape. When I started Boot Camp I realized that I really had week muscles and was not strong at all. The instructors encourage me to push myself to do better while understanding that everyone has different fitness levels. My family is so proud of me… and so I am I!

Great camp at a great location. The daily workouts get you going for the day and help you build a great routine. The workouts are always challenging and never boring. This bootcamp is very well organized and well run.

I cannot say enough great things about Operation Boot Camp! If it were just a workout it would be a good program, but with the logbook(accountability), emails(motivation), and supportive instructors(encouragement), it’s a fantastic program. I don’t consider myself an athlete, but OBC has pushed me to realize I can do things I never imagined. Two weeks into the month I ran my very first 5K and managed to come in 16th for my age group! In just one month I have lost a dress size and gained TONS of energy I simply didn’t have before. Oh, and my formerly stuffed-sausages called legs are now defined by muscles! The program cost seems pricey at first, but once I crunched the numbers I realized I actually saved money this month by eating out much less and not buying any alcohol!(Probably says too much about my bad habits prior to boot camp — ha ha!) I would argue one month of OBC has more value than an entire year of gym membership, where there is no personal attention, crowded classes & machines, and sometimes poor quality instructors. The OBC instructors *teach* the participants and *care* about our fitness. If Emily, Jessica, Shawn, and Sandy weren’t volunteers I’d suggest they need raises! They do such an outstanding job encouraging, guiding, and teaching us. Deanna and Jim are great leaders, as well. Thanks for a fantastic month!

Still loving it nearly a year later!!! Started in April 2009 and can honestly say that the past 11 ½ months have been fantastic. Still enjoying the running(which some people still don’t believe me about) and am getting stronger and stronger! Great stress relief too! Even throughout the holidays, OBC was so very helpful for me — despite the lovely frigid temperatures of this very long winter! The idea that there are others there waiting for me to be with them helps me crawl out of bed on those mornings when I’m just feeling so incredibly tired. By the time I get there, I’m pumped and ready to workout, and by the time I leave I’m feeling great. Its a great organization and well worth it to try and then become a part of! There are several opportunities to join in a no pressure preview workout out each month — even at other OBC sites. Great way to see how they’re run and a great way to get an «extra» workout in on the weekend!
