Great food. Great staff. I hate that they don’t stay open a little later in the night.

Thought it was a local place but it turned out to a be chain. Good wasn’t tasty. It was greasy with small portions.

I needed to have a vegan meal and this place hit the spot and then some. I had the Falafel salad with a side of fries. The fries were gone in less than 10 minutes. SOGOOD! The salad was so flavorful and the falafel just put it over the top. I will be back after my fast. Thank you to ‘The Beirut’.

I was here for lunch when I was in the area for a conference. This located in the same shopping complex as the Walmart. It was not busy when we arrived. We ordered at the counter and waited at our table for our food to arrive. Food was served up quickly. I ordered the chicken shawarma pita that comes with grilled veggies. The grilled veggies are a nice, healthy complement. The shawarma was good, but not great. I ordered baklava and was not a fan of it at all. *womp, womp* Not the best Mediterranean, but not bad.

This time around the food was very bad. Not fresh, everything tasted like it had been precooked and reheated. Rice was hard and undercooked, fries were over cooked and hard, chicken was dry. I’m very disappointed. There wasn’t a manager around and the kitchen was being run by a bunch of unprofessional teenagers. I will not be back.

You can find this location of Pita by the Beirut at 4709 Ashford Dunwoody Rd, GA30338 in the Perimeter Village shopping center anchored by Walmart. This is a couple of blocks beyond Perimeter Mall on Ashford Dunwoody Rd — there are several other restaurants in the same center, I particularly like Viceroy Indian for their buffet at lunch. There’s also an Uncle Maddio’s at the opposite end from Viceroy that’s good for a quick bite. Speaking of quick bite, Pita by the Beirut is a fast-casual restaurant where you order your plate or wrap at the counter(with sides) and your food is delivered to you within a few minutes. This is a relatively new restaurant that’s very clean and super efficient. The style is Mediterranean and typical with wraps, a decent rice and grilled veggies — I think of this business as a cross between Grecian Gyro and Zoe’s Kitchen(the former is all about the gyro in all it’s glory and the latter is more health conscience — PbtB is somewhere in between). I opted for my usual Gyro platter which was served on paper in an aluminum bowl. There’s tangy shavings of gyro meat(a mix of lamb and beef) served with rice and grilled veggies and a pita cut into quarters, with a dollop of tzatziki sauce. I liked the rice — something that a lot of similar restaurants just can’t seem to get right. The staff was very efficient and delivered the food quickly. Have I had better? Yes, but this meal was very good and worth trying, especially if you’re time is limited. There’s a USPO in the same building so this is a great option if you’re shipping packages. Parking can be fairly congested and watch out for the idiots, as this is a busy lot. I put this one in my bag of options near work. It’s a bit closer than Grecian Gyro and certainly not as busy as Zoe’s — plus there’s plenty of opportunity for lunch restaurants in this area, with all the IT businesses nearby. Pretty average strip mall pita place. The pita bread is too thick. They are sloppy with the ingredients which makes the whole thing overfilled, too saucy and impossible to eat without a fork. Obviously since it is a sandwich it should be possible to eat with hands. Toppings seemed very basic. Onions, tomatoes, sauce. They don’t have things like hummus, fried eggplant, fresh green harissa, Greek salad in the sandwich.

3.5 stars. Their design reminds me of Newk’s and Chipotle. It faces the UFC gym and next to Jason’s Deli. I found it very clean and well maintained and appealing. They have the usual pitas and wraps along with some salads and Nutella pitas($ 2.95). I got the Traditional Gyro($ 7.95). It was pretty hearty and the pita was pretty good. I prefer a thicker pita(Sinbad’s in Marietta really does this well) but this place’s wasn’t bad at all. For your side you can choose from fries, rice, or grilled veggies(about 6 – 7 long slices of carrots and zucchinis). The fries tasted like McDonald’s fries but crispy. The plates are over $ 10 which I find a little expensive, but most gyro places charge this much for plates. The service was pretty friendly. Only gripe is the food took too long. We waited close to 10 mins to get our pitas. It was peak weekday lunch but I felt it could be made a little faster. Overall, it’s a good lunch option and I would recommend it.

UPDATE: I tried another visit today. The service much better than my last visit. Food just as good. Much improved. — The food is good and fresh here. I’ve been pleased with it both times I’ve visited. However, they definitely need to work on their service. The first time I visited the young lady at the register was texting on her phone. I was just standing there. She looked up, said nothing, dead silence. So I ordered. Food took quite a while. There are tons of people behind counter but no obvious management. Things are too chaotic. The second time I visited, the young man at the register spoke so softly I could not hear him. At all. Food took 25 minutes, there were no less than 5 people behind counter. No organization or management. Not totally sure I will be back. It’s just too slow/difficult. However — I must reiterate– food itself is outstanding!

I was in the area one day, and curious to see if this was a lame American spin on the ~exotic spices of the Middle East~ I gave it a shot anyways because I was hungry lol. I’ve been hooked on their fatoush salad with chicken ever since. It’s halal y’all so eat up. It always looks so pretty and it’s one of those salads that can carry it’s own without any dressing. I wish they would add more chicken to it though. They serve it with a sumac dressing which is hella good. Don’t dump the whole container into it as it can be a really intense and overpowering flavor. The place itself has a chipotle kind of look and feel to it, but way better. I’m excited to try the other menu options, and I hope you’ll give it a try, too. There’s something on the menu for all tastebuds.

Pita by the Beirut is located in a large shopping center on Ashford Dunwoody with the Walmart and the Hobby Lobby. I would say that the restaurant is kind of hidden as the back of the restaurant is facing the street. There are lots of tables inside the restaurant and few tables outside of the restaurant for outdoor seating. FOOD: — Tawook Pita Wrap: pita wrap loaded with diced grilled chicken breast with veggies like tomatoes, lettuce, and onions. The wrap had lots of flavor and the chicken was not dry at all. — French Fries: their fries are so good! Very crispy and perfect with garlic spread sauce. SERVICE: The service is exceptional as well. My friend and I sat outside until our order was ready and the staff brought the meal to us. She even came by a few times to check up on us to see if we needed anything like additional condiments or drink refills. Overall, I would say this is one of my all-time favorite places to dine at. It definitely exceeded my expectations. I am very happy to have discovered the restaurant using the Unilocal app. The value is great and the prices are reasonable. I am looking forward to my next visit!

I’ve been here so many times and I’m only waiting a review now because I was too busy enjoying the food. Their gyro meat is unlike anything I’ve ever tasted before. I usually hate gyro meat, but I crave the gyro meat at Pita. It’s just made well, and carved right off the stick. None of that processed slices from restaurant depot. The falafel come topped with traditional pickles and lettuce. I wish I could order the pickle on its own! The food is only good fresh. When I couldn’t finish my food, I packed my leftovers. The next day, the grease from the gyro meat had kinda hardened and made it really unappetizing to eat as leftovers. The grilled veggies and Lebne are great too!!!

Three stars on the verge of four. Great lunch place when it’s at its best, but that can vary. The grilled vegetables can range from awesome to overseasoned and undercooked: the carrots tend to be a problem regularly. The gyro/gyro platter is pretty darned good here and coupled with their fantastic seasoned fries it’s hard to go wrong.

The place itself is very unassuming. It’s wedged between a few other restaurants and stores where the Wal-Mart behemoth is located, and I’d never even realized it was so close to where I work. Though to be fair, I make it a point to avoid Wal-Mart at all costs… It seems to have a very open kitchen concept, where you order and you’re able to see your food get prepared behind glass. The food here is delicious, which is no doubt why it was so swamped the day I came up here with some co-workers. Though I think it may have to do with a combination of being understaffed and not prepared This definitely wasn’t fast food for us… At all. The line was about 5 people deep, and then after we ordered we waited. For a little over 30 minutes from the time of ordering. Not sure what was going on in the kitchens, but I was ravenous by the time the food came out. At least the food was still hot, since I believe everything is made«fresh to order» here. Or at least sliced and diced to order. I ordered chicken schwarma with a side of rice. The rice was… Interesting. Small, molded into a rounded square. It tasted like an entire stick of butter was poured over it, so not entirely my cup of tea. I saved it and dumped it in some soup later, and it even made the soup taste buttery. A little odd, I think, but I really have no comparison. I also ate some of my co-workers fries, and they were shoe-string thin. Not super crunchy, but well-seasoned and generously portioned. PROS: –Food was delicious and well-seasoned. –I like the open kitchen concept; it’s very modern and interesting to watch the meat spinning around. CONS: –30 minute wait to get food. Definitely not the type of place to go if you need to grab food in a hurry, and definitely not«fast casual» like they state on their website. –They had printed paper menus with different prices than the ones advertised. As far as I saw, there was no explanation as to why. –The website shows thick, steak cut fries. This is inaccurate information. The website also doesn’t list prices, so keep in mind you’ll spend around $ 10 here. THEVERDICT: The chicken schwarma was very good. Well-seasoned to the point where each bite had a perfect amount of seasoning and meat. But still… Worth a 30 minute wait when I was hungry to begin with? Me thinks not. Despite that, at least the food was good, and they were apologetic when they finally delivered the food. So at least they’re able to acknowledge their slow service. I don’t imagine I’d come back during the lunch rush, but I’d try to pick something up after dinner for sure. The cost is about standard for most Mediterranean food places I’ve eaten; neither a reasonable bargain nor a costly lunch choice. Expect to spend about $ 10 with a cup of water.

I have mixed feelings about Pita by the Beirut, and here’s why… Pros: — Great to see another Mediterranean restaurant in the Perimeter area — They have good fries: not matchstick thin(not a a fan of super thin fries) but thin enough and crunchy, perfect seasoning. — Clean space Cons: — I wasn’t a fan of the falafel wrap, particularly the pickle or whatever is pickled inside. — We had a big to-go order phoned in and it wasn’t ready by the estimated time, approx 15 – 20 after estimated time. We also had to double-check food to make sure we got all orders. The food was ok. I think I definitely give this place another try, particularly their gyro. I just know that I don’t like whatever tasted like pickle in my falafel wrap. This made it sour and too salty. I’ll be sure to make sure that’s not added in my order. The fries are good though. I don’t think this place can handle 13+ individual orders, so we may go the catering route next time.

My Mediterranean palate is pretty unrefined. That being said, I thought this place was pretty good. Located in the same plaza as over a dozen other shop and restaurants, Pita by the Beirut never stuck out to me because of the tiny sign wedged between two shops. Walking into the restaurant, you’re greeted by a large open space full of empty tables. There were a few tables of people sitting with their families, but we were probably the only people there — of course, there were about 10 – 12 of us so the nearly empty restaurant on an early Saturday afternoon was a welcome surprise. There was a single TV playing the FSU game. This looks like my kind of restaurant. Haters gonna hate. After perusing the menu, my eyes stopped at the Signature gyro wrap, which was your basic gyro wrap with French fries inside. I was immediately sold. I had a friend who visited Turkey next to me who claimed that’s how he bought his gyro. After a brief rate(I was appeased by the view of the football game), my order appeared with a HUGE order of fries and the Signature gyro wrap. I was satisfied with the huge wrap and the amount of meat and tzatziki sauce on my wrap. The first few bites also had a good ratio of meat to fries. Toward the end, I realized I could have just ordered the normal gyro wrap and added my own fries and saved $.50… I stole a grilled veggie from one of my friends, which was pretty disappointing. Good flavor but they didn’t peel the carrots… Is that how you’re supposed to eat carrots? Because I’ve never eaten a carrot with the peel. I was not impressed. A great meal for under $ 10. Big space for a quick in and out lunch.

Yesterday I decided to give this place another try(after a few months), and it did not change my mind. We ordered two falafel wraps with fries. We got only 2 lousy falafel patties in our large pita wrap. Really?!! We got a little amount of lettuce, no tomatoes, no tahini sauce. It was just basically bread that we were eating. Service was very slow for pick up and food is very inconsistent. I give up on this place.

Surprisingly good food … I was in the area recently and I followed the positive reviews on Unilocal to Pita by the Beirut. It turned out to be a good choice. The chicken Shawarma was better than the falafel imho… There are a number of Unilocalers who mentioned the grilled vegetables as a great side and they are right. The veggies(mostly zucchini and some awesomely large carrots) taste great and are nice change of pace from rice or «fries.» Their Tzatziki sauce is worth a try. They charge and extra 60¢ for a «side» of it but the consistency is thick and super creamy … almost«whipped.» Considering«Pita» is the first word in their name, I didn’t find the actual bread to be all that fresh(… maybe frozen, then thawed???) But the veggies and their reasonable prices made up for that. The interior is what you’ll find is trending among all«fast casual» type of restaurants. High ceilings and concrete floors with tables lined up all around the counter you order at. A sign outside said«children eat free» and that was evidenced by the amount of food splattered on the floor waiting to be cleaned up by the staff(sigh — «Dunwoody Parents».) You will find Pita by the Beirut in the Dunwoody Wal-Mart center … over in the outlying section, not in the W-M«strip.» You might drive by it if you’re heading to Wal-Mart.

«Falafel is a gateway food,» Michelle Bachmann Okay, so she didn’t really say this. it was just Internet satire, but the falafel’s here could definitely be a gateway food! Pita by the Beirut has a new location at the perimeter and is very welcome here. The restaurant itself is a casual, order at the counter establishment. It is clean, with functional décor and seating. The employees are friendly with great attitudes. Having just come for a quick lunch, I ordered a falafel wrap. When given the option of a side, fries, rice, or grilled vegetables I chose the veggies, good choice. The falafel wrap was ample, the flavors were fresh, The grilled vegetables were perfect. While they probably weren’t the best falafel I ever had, they were very good, and worked well with the soft pita they use here. Definitely a good spot for lunch. «hey this tastes good, I wonder what else comes from Arabia?» Uh oh…
