I ate here a few months ago. Maybe I just don’t get Peruvian food, for which I am sad. Chicken — I really wanted to like this because its supposed to be sublimely spiced and slowly cooked in the big ovens behind the counter. It was actually kind of dry and I didn’t taste anything sublimely spiced. The papas fritas — french fries with cheese sauce. And not like a yummy velvety cheese sauce, kind of a grainy, oddly flavored cheese sauce. The salad — uh — iceberg lettuce and tired tomato. At least it was cheap!

Although the chicken is tasty, I prefer Mexican chicken with its crisp skin. This Peruvian version of roasted chicken seems boiled in texture. The papas fritas are your regular frozen version. The salad, however, is very, very fresh and the spicy aji verde sauce is so good I want them to bottle it and send me a crate every month. I love chicha morada(purple corn boiled with pineapple rind, cinammon and cloves) but theirs is a tad sweet for my liking. Incidentally, I saw my server go out and come back with 2 bags full of pre-packaged half chickens from the grocery next door.

Peruvian restaurant next to Goodwill. Ordered — Combo C: Whole oven-roasted chicken with french fries — Yuca fries — Cebiche plate: fellow diners said it was most likely tilapia — Chicha moroda(the purple corn drink) — nothing to write home about Overall, food and cost were«A-OK». Very accomodating and friendly staff. Clean restaurant. Best for family-style dinners.
