Popeyes on Moreland gave me the bubbles after one bite. Something was off with the chicken, it was fried but somehow tasted like raw flour. Green beans were the worst I’ve had in my life, extremely mushy almost a puréed consistency with no taste. The mashed potatoes were good though. The customer service was nice despite other reviews, but I did end up leaving without my complete order. I love Popeyes but I probably won’t return to this location.

I hope Al Copeland sees this cause I have been very disappointed in Popeyes in general with the portion sizes of the chicken. I like the 3 wing meal but these days the wings have been entirely too little. But that doesn’t pertain to this review. I came to get me some food from this particular one today and really I don’t know why I even ordered a «chicken tender red beans and rice BURRITO!»(You knew they had these?!) I know businesses like to appeal to all ethnicities but just fry the chicken and serve it up please. It was something in my mashed potatoes and no it wasn’t that gravy meat. I hoped the trash can enjoyed my meal better than I did. Please take that crap off the menu.

Prices up, Costumer Service down. They are always slow. Chicken should always be ready. Why such a long wait? Thumbs way down. The restaurant is nice and pretty if I must say anything nice

I live close to this restaurant and love Popeyes. Have been to this location several times and ha e always had great food. Speed of service is usually good, but sometimes you can tell when they get unexpected business and are running behind. The Cajun rice is awesome. Always get the spicy chicken. FYI, American Express is not accepted.

In the category of fried chicken, Popeye’s ranks as pretty decent but not anything like what you’d get at a sit-down restaurant that prides themselves in their fried chicken, such as Colonnade. In the category of fast food fried chicken, Popeye’s ranks first. In the category of fast food, top ten. Maybe five. Especially their spicy chicken, either with bone or tenders. This location is nice. I’ve been a couple of times and the folks are friendly, effisient. The restaurant(I’ve eaten in both times) is clean.

It’s a Popeyes. Doesn’t deserve a page long review… It’s Popeyes

The good: the food is pretty damn awesome, particularly the jambalaya and the spicy chicken strips when paired with Mardi Gras Mustard. Biscuits are usually really tender and flaky. The bad: regardless of the purchase amount you have to sign credit card slips. Really? This is downright stupid. I can’t recall if I’ve EVER had to sign for a credit card charge from any other major fast food joint on the planet — you don’t even have to do that at their Old Fourth Ward location. I guess they are afraid that unsavory characters will make off with a ton of napkins and sporks because they are never stocked in the dining area. This store in particular never seems to order enough of those freebie items along with sauces for the chicken strips — every single time I’ve been there they are out of Mardi Gras Mustard. Every order I’ve gotten, whether dining in or drive-thru, has been incorrect in some fashion — missing sauces, apple pies, incorrect product mix despite confirming multiple times during the order process. Not a huge issue when I’m dining in but a PITA when I’ve gone through the drive-thru and I get home to divvy up food and something’s not there. I know that I can’t hold the same expectations as a more upscale sit-down location, and the first couple times I went I attributed the hiccups to being a new store. But at this point they need to straighten out the service issues. They have the opportunity to really make some cash and get a lot of repeat business if they could just get some of the basics right.

No issues in 4 visits on week nights. But remember this is «Louisiana fast» so expect your typical K&B wait time :-)

I’ve been to this particular Popeye’s numerous times since it opened a few months ago and something has been wrong with every order except one. On my third visit a cashier asked what sort of sauce I wanted with my tenders. Didn’t realize that was an option since no one had asked before. Didn’t matter, she forgot it. Asked for fries once, got onion rings. Once I got an entirely different meal. Driving away in the dark and took a bite of a chicken strip only to find out it was a piece of bone-in chicken. Got mashed potatoes that I didn’t order either, but no spoon to eat them with. I did find ketchup packs though. So not only did I get someone else’s meal, it was also screwed up. I sat in a parking lot scraping potatoes out of the bowl with the biscuit just like on Man vs Wild. These were all trivial problems and I was hungry so I didn’t bother going back to complain. I never really had to wait and most of the food is the same anyway. My most recent visit will probably be my last. It’s 3 pm on Saturday, not your typical lunch rush. The car in front of me is asked to pull ahead and wait. I’m handed a soft drink with a puddle on top of the lid and directed to pull into a parking space where a man is standing with his door open clearly cleaning out his car. I asked why there was a delay. «Cuz of tha onion rings.» These are the same onion rings I was charged extra for. The ones that require a person to take a moment to punch a different button on the register. A moment that would be perfect for saying, «it’s going to be a minute on the onion rings, do you still want them.» To avoid running over another human, I took it upon myself to wait in a different parking space. Of course that’s when I actually discovered the soda on the lid by conveniently feeling it with my lap. As I waited, I decided this was not food that was worth waiting for. My entire reason for coming to this place was to avoid waiting. This is the reason the drive through was invented. I went in to get a refund. Immediately the cashier just shouted the manager’s name with a tone that suggested this was becoming an annoying pattern. I saw a woman putting onion rings into a box that looked like it could be my order. The manager scrambled to pacify me by assuring me that«those nuggets were coming right up!» «Great! I didn’t order nuggets. Can I just get my money back?» Meanwhile, the box that I think was meant for me was handed to a guy who had been waiting inside the restaurant. I didn’t stick around to see if he came back to complain. The manager disappears around the corner for a few minutes and returns with no money, but asks me to sign a receipt. I asked why I’m signing something to get MY money back. He has no idea. He can only say, «everybody’s got to sign it: cashier, manager, everybody.» I got my money and I know exactly why I need to sign it too. The car that was ahead of me in the beginning was still waiting when I left.

This was my 1st visit and it was late night. They’ve only been open a full week and I still haven’t been inside. Drive-thru staff were a bit friendlier than your typical Popeye’s. Next time I go, I’m going to try the inside…
