Jarrod?! Whoa! What is the deal? Dr. Ron would never, ever raise his voice at anyone. I’ve known him for years even back when this was Gurin & Gurin in the Chandler building. And let’s see, you don’t intend on buying any glasses from him but you want him to give you all the measurements so you can go somewhere else? Wow! They are extremely busy lately and I think they should expand but I love his exams and his demeanor and his office manager is cute too. They are very profesional and their prices are very competitive.

If you want to go to a fun and laid back office, Dr. Gurins office is the place for you. The woman up front that runs the place will put your mind at ease and help you to enjoy your appointment. All my coworkers go here.

Dr. Gurin has been my optometrist for over 10 years, and I’ve never once had a bad experience. In fact, he goes out of his way to be accomodating! I am often traveling, and he always finds a way to work me into his schedule. He’s even offered to come in on a Saturday! If I need contact lenses, I can pay for them over the phone and pick them up from the concierge at the Healey Building. And unlike those awful chains, he does not charge extra for a contact lens fitting vs. a regular eye exam.

Never. Under any circumstances. By no means. Don’t. This guy was kind of a jerk the whole time I was there, but things really got hot when he realized I didn’t intend to buy any of his glasses. Glasses go on your face, and I’m not just going to slap any old thing on there. I was not satisfied with his selection, so I asked for a copy of my prescription. He went nuts, as in, visibly angry and raised his voice to me. When I asked for my pupilary distance, a measurement of how far apart your pupils are and important to getting a good pair of lenses made, he just pulled a number out of thin air. I challenged him on it, but he said that was correct. Typically this is measured with a specialized tool they have there, but I wanted to get out. Fast forward two years, the lady who measured my glasses at my new optician said the lenses were«all jacked up» and showed me how the focal point of one of the lenses was way up in the corner. Ridiculous. Steer clear of this surly, malicious fellow.
