Whenever I’m in the Atlanta area I always try to work in a trip to Ru Sans whether I’m with clients or alone. I have never been disappointed with the food or the service. If you like sushi it is a must-visit!

The owners decided to close early, although their hours of operation stated differently. They said they closed early because they didn’t have any customers for hours and it’s pointless to stay open. Wasted time and gas on a empty stomach !

Great place, great food, great atmosphere. Every time I travel to Atlanta I ALWAYS make it a point to come here and eat. Love this place.

We ordered the spicy chicken maki rolls and they had a bad after taste. We told makes if we could try switch for another one and the manager declined stating that they couldn’t take it off but my date only ate two of his 6 and I had one of the 3. Then still charged us for them after he took them off the table to do God knows what. Bad customer service.

I’ve always had a blast at RuSan’s in Edgewood and the one in Buckhead is on par with that one. Stopped by for an early-ish dinner(6:00) with friends and found out that they had happy hour until 7. The $ 5 large sakes are an amazing deal(that alone is worth 4 stars) but the food is great too. Service can be a little slow at times. They seemed to be a little understaffed so I can cut them some slack. Our waiter was absolutely fantastic though, hooking us up with some free drinks and small salads. In any case, I had fun, walked out full and got a solid buzz without breaking the bank. When I’m in the area next, I’ll definitely be back!

Had Dinner here on a recent Thursday evening, food was spectacular with lots of choices. Had sockeye salmon, and smoked sable fish which were well done with innovative sides. Fresh local oysters and sushi for appetizers! Jennifer, our waitress was fantastic, very knowledgeable and attentive. Truly a great dining experience, and the highlight of our trip to Atlanta.

Coming to Ru Sans on a Friday night is the best way to kick off the weekend. The menu is expansive with lots of new items which are beautifully presented and taste delicious. It’s also a great date place especially if you sit at the bar. The hospitality of the staff is great too.

I really enjoy Sunday Brunch here at Ru Sans. The sushi is always good and fresh. There’s a lot of variety. The hot food is always hot. The fried rice is yummy. The Tempura(vegetable and shrimp) is light and crispy. Even the tea is sweet. I think this is a great deal for the price. I always leave stuffed! You should arrive no later than 1:30pm to have enough time to enjoy brunch before it ends at 2:30pm.

I moved to Atlanta back in 2009 for school and to my lament, there were no decently priced sushi places around. After some time and some googling, I found Ru Sans and I’ve been back pretty much weekly since. They always greet customers with a warm smile and I like that. The head chefs are the nicest guys ever and take pride in their work. The buffet on weekends is pretty amazing as well. 12 bucks for all you can eat sushi and other foods. I usually spend about 12 – 16 bucks in there when I go and come out so full, I don’t eat for the rest of the day. The chefs and staff at Ru Sans has kind of become my extended family. As long as I take breath, I’ll go to Ru Sans for my sushi fix.

I have a lot of misses for sushi in the Atlanta area so this is would be my go-to if I would need my dose of sushi or I would drive to Buford area for my favorite sushi place. I. FOOD&DRINKS I normally get the Super Power Bowl or one of those $ 25 sushi combination along with seafood dynamite. The sushi combination comes with soup, salad, and this yummy crab cake! I would get crispy calamari but on the days I don’t order it or if its really busy, they will give it to you for free, or even free sake bomb. II. SERVICE MEH. The service here can be really good or really bad. It is never consistent. III. ATMOSPHERE/DECOR I found the décor here very odd and doesn’t match with the food that is serve but the open space of this place is nice since it is normally slam busy. This place is the typical place you would go for a birthday party of just want to get sake wasted. IV. PRICES Decent price for decent sushi. V. OVERALL Go here if you want decent-good sushi for a good price.

I came here for their lunch buffet for 12.95. Initially, I intended on ordering off the menu, but once I saw all the items for the buffet, I changed my mind. I’m not sure what the items are during weekdays, but on a Sunday they had: –Various sushi rolls –Sushi assortment –Salad with ginger dressing –Seaweed salad –Seafood nacho(fried wonton chip with assorted sashimi tossed in a sauce, topped with avocado) –Ahi tuna poke –Soup –Vegetable tempura –Shrimp tempura –Veggie yakisoba –Veggie fried rice –Chicken teriyaki –Salmon –Gyoza –Fried shrimp dumpling –Edamame –Fried calamari –Dessert(cream puff & peaches) My absolute favs were the seafood nacho and the ahi tuna poke. I can definitely say that the selection was very good. Everything tasted fresh and of great quality. It was my first time, and I can’t wait to come back. Service was great as well!

Food $ 25 for Protein Super Mix or whatever Just order get this. The rest of the menu is a mess and too large. The Protein mix was a pretty good deal for dinner. It could actually feed two. The fish to rice ratio was great and for the amount of food this special was the way to go. The other $ 25 option had more fried items and less fish. Most of the sushi was pretty good. The fried one wasn’t my thing(Trying to watch my figure). There was a little too much sauce on the salmon bits but it was still tasty enough. Décor I’ve actually only been to Ru San’s at Edgewood for the lunch buffet. This seems like a completely different place. They decorated for Halloween. Neato. Ok bathrooms. Plenty of parking as long as it’s under 3 hours? Service Our server was awesome. She hooked us up with extra appetizer and drinks and gave me a birthday ice cream cake too. Would I come here again? Sure. I was impressed by the service and food /price ratio. Was I treated better because it was my birthday?

Quite a disappointment. The only thing good was the politeness of our server. This is not the same RuSans that I loved in Charlotte. The sushi was sub par and the overall lack of cleanliness and disorganization in the restaurant made me look forward to finishing my meal and leaving. But in all fairness I am not a Buckhead local and this place definitely has its faithful followers for sure so check their reviews out before weighing to heavily on mine.

Always great service, always great food. The portions are huge. The fish tastes so so fresh. Delicious flavors and the sake selections is awesome. The staff has some really great recommendations if you ask. The kitchen is very visible so you can see the sushi and other dishes being prepared. A cool process if youve never been. Their non sushi menu is huge and extremely well priced. Full bar available. I so recommend calling ahead in the evenings, as they are pretty popular. Ask for Lang if you can!

Decided to drop by tonight for my friend’s birthday dinner. I’ve been to multiple locations of Ru San’s but I have never been a big fan of any of them. Sadly, my preference about Ru San’s stays the same. It took considerable amount of time for server to get our order and it took even longer time to receive my food. I waited about 50 minutes to get my food. I ordered 4 salmon nigiris, 2 order of negi hamachi maki, and 1 order of lomo lomo salmon maki. Of these, only half-decent edible food was the nigiris. I ended up spitting out and not eating the makis because it spewed out old fish stink when I bit into it. I know Ru San’s doesn’t serve high quality sushi but this was pretty bad even for Ru San’s. If by any chance I should return here, I’ll just stick to their sake bomb.

Love that this place offers a long list of Vegetarian Sushi Rolls! Thank you! We ordered a lot of different types of veggie rolls, and they also have soy paper as an option if you don’t eat seaweed. Service was a bit slow(reason for minus 1 star), but the food was great and filled us up!

This has to be by far the best location for sushi ever. The food is awesome. The service is absolute the best I’ve ever seen for a sushi restaurant. The owner is there working every night keeping a close eye on all operations. Also they often complement their regulars with free food and drinks. Thank you!

Even though I’ve heard some good and bad reviews of Ru San’s across Atlanta and also by trying each location myself, I would say this is the best one out of them all and the only one I would dine at. I would admit that I actually like Ru San’s and I do come here for sushi whenever I am craving. Yes, sometimes their sushi could be better in the way it tastes as how fresh it is and also the presentation depending on who makes the sushi rolls. Sometimes the rolls are not tight enough and I find my sushi rolls falling to pieces. I do agree with fellow Unilocalers when they say that the sushi is better when it’s not busy as I think the sushi chefs have more time to focus on making rolls and attention to detail. The service is pretty good and the servers do check up on you throughout your meal. The hostess are very nice and friendly. Everyone is very personable. FOOD: — Rising Sun: this roll has got to be my go-to order and my favorite sushi roll. It’s a large roll so each piece will be two bites each. In this roll, you will find salmon, tuna, asparagus, and cream cheese wrapped in seaweed and rice. It is then coated with sliced wonton wrappers and then slightly fried. I love this roll and I can’t get enough of it. — Calamari: I’m a fan of this appetizer and it’s great for sharing. They are generous with their calamari. I love it with their seafood/yum yum sauce. — Chicken Fried Rice: their chicken fried rice is pretty good and it’s not dry at all. They don’t overuse the soy sauce for this dish as you can tell by just looking at the fried rice when it comes out. NEWYEAR’S EVE — AYCE Buffet For New Years Eve, I tried their All You Can Eat(AYCE) Sushi and Hot Foods Buffet all for $ 30. I would rate it 3.5 or 4⁄5. There are a lot of sushi roll options in this buffet(including my favorite roll, Rising Sun). They also have crab legs, clams. fried rice, calamari, desserts, and other items. I didn’t rate it higher because I felt that they used a LOT of tuna instead of salmon. I understand tuna is cheaper than salmon, though. I was a bit disappointed. The hostess told me that they do the AYCE option for NYE as customer appreciation. At the end of your meal, you will receive a gift bag of Japanese snacks(I would say this all is worth maybe $ 5). You also get a free glass of champagne at midnight to ring in the new year if you stay at the restaurant long enough for midnight. As for reservatrions for this NYEAYCE buffet, they will only allow reservations for parties of 5 or more guests. Anything lower than 5 guests, will just depend on first come, first served. Luckily, we were seated immediately after we entered the restaurant at around 8:15pm. I would consider doing Ru San’s AYCENYE again next year; however, I will look into Nori Nori’s buffet as well. Overall, I will continue to dine at Ru San’s Buckhead as I do like this location and do have a huge list of sushi rolls and lots of other options as well. It’s always a fun experience every time I dine here.

Lunch specials, anyone? The lunch menu is just as extensive as the normal dinner and rolls menu. I like to order from the front page, which includes combos and«boxes». I’ve ordered the Lunch box, which includes sushi and rolls, as well as the Kabob combo, which included grilled meats and veggies with rice. The kabobs were drizzled with teriyaki sauce, which nearly drowned out veggies, but it was still tasty. It also comes with a small side salad with ginger dressing as well as a cup of miso soup. Cheap and fast Japanese food, walking distance and minutes from work? Yes, please!
