We went for an engagement party and Kaitlin was amazing. She was extremely attentive and made sure everyone had drinks and a good time. Will definitely be back for more Saturday nights out!

Smith’s is my boyfriends favorite place to go, I absolutely enjoy coming here with him! It’s definitely more of a hipster dive bar, but it’s a super casual feel and a great place for a weeknight drink or a weekend night bender. They have really good food(the Fox Bros wings are SO good!) and the drinks are well priced. They have great bucket specials, especially on Blue Moon, and they typically have the«beer girls» visiting on the weekends. We’ve gotten lots of free drinks out of that. The bartenders are super nice as well. Awesome place to come hang out with friends, lots of games. Pool tables, darts, and some great arcade games(we’ve definitely put some dollars in that punching machine once or twice). They used to do bottomless mimosas on Sunday’s, I don’t think they do this anymore though Also a fun place to come during football season(although I avoid it since it’s an Alabama bar and I’m an Auburn grad!!) I would recommend anyone come here, especially if you’re looking for a chill place to hang with friends

#93 Great local flavor. Dark and super divey – even for ATL standards. Food is so-so, but it is just what I want and expect from bar food. Drinks are strong and cheap. Music is awesome. Crowd is hype. Parking, not so great – be inventive, use Publix. Darts and pool. Since I have been in town I have tried to play darts at a couple local bars. I am not that good… yet. But watch out, because game on. Saw tons of TV’s and I am thinking this could be a great spot to watch the playoffs – I will let you know on my next visit. Slow service for food, but who goes to a dive bar for amazing speed of service? You go to a dive bar for cheap drinks, an eclectic crowd and fun times. Smith’s Olde Bar has all that – plus some really cool bartenders. «500 Songs for Kids» was a stellar charity event hosted by Smith’s Olde Bar. The event was to support children’s hospitals. Back in the Bay Area I always tried to hit up every local charity event for either kids fund raisers, breast cancer awareness or Alzheimer’s research. It was good to hear about this event from a few people I met at another local spot last week as I am new in the community and want to get involved. This was a great way to find a new hangout, meet some people and stay active. One of the bands playing was a local cover band the Spins that I saw last Friday night. They were just as awesome as last time. Maybe I will start a cult following of the Spins through the ATL… #jussayin I like Smith’s and will definitely return. There is just something special about dive bars that always keeps me coming back, and Smith’s is a pretty cool dive at that. Stephani Smiles for Smith’s Olde Bar ;) #uberbecauseparkingisawful

Went for a show. TRIED to order dinner first. Took over 1 hour and 20 minutes from the time we ordered. Took 10 minutes until we even got a menu and then another 15 before waitress took our order — no apology. 1 hour 45 minutes + from time we sat down until we got our food.

Once you negotiate a parking spot with Shawty, whether across the street or in the lot next door; You must make an A-line to your nearest waitress and order one of Chef Chops specials! This isn’t just bar food! He grills some of the most delicious smoked concoctions you could ever imagine! Get his catfish, or smoked, fried ribs or whatever is his hand selected special for the day. You won’t regret it!

We went for Wrenn on 2⁄19. Our party of four ate dinner in the downstairs bar area before the show started. My wings and fries were fine. The service was average, but she was a friendly waitress. Broad beer and spirits selection. The IPAs I ordered were good! There were no complaints from the others with me. No issues with ordering our tickets online. They have a list with your name. We had our table reserved as ordered. The show was great! Sound system is nice. There is a bar in the concert room as well as a satellite bar that is cash only. All employees had good attitudes. I’d like to go back for another show!

The staff is absolutely amazing, the venue is huge, the clientele are friendly, it’s the best place to go watch a STEELER game in the area, the drinks are made well, the food is great, I definitely recommend checking it out. The only downside is parking is limited, but that kinda comes hand in hand with living in Atlanta.

This place has a neighborhood bar feel. The food is always good(even their wings, which i’m not usually a big fan of), and the beer/drink selection is on point. This is THEPLACE to go for Steelers and Bama fans. Be prepared for slow service. We’ve been to SOB a few times, and the service has been consistently s.l.o.w., although also consistently courteous and polite. My friend says«They work at their own pace.» They have a few different rooms/“venues” here, but I’ve only been in the main bar room. I hear the other rooms have live music regularly and are cool. The parking situation seems to confuse new patrons. You should plan to park behind the gas station(Exxon I think) that is on the corner of Monroe and Piedmont. You won’t get towed if you park there and there are plenty of spaces.

Really cool spot! A little run down it seems, but it’s still a relaxed casual place to hang out(especially if you’re a Crimson Tide fan)! Great drink specials(today we got the $ 15 beer bucket) and good food for a reasonable price. Parking situation isn’t great and I definitely recommend getting there early if you’re trying to sit and watch the game — can get crowded fast. Other that that, I love coming here!

I’m confounded by the parking situation is here. I arrived at Smith’s Olde Bar around 8:00PM, the building was packed, but nary was a parking lot nor any street parking. Ergo, I parked in a nearby residential area and hoofed a block or two. En route to Smith’s Olde Bar, I walked past a couple of restaurants with outdoor seating and felt strangely out of place, which is odd considering that I’ve lived in the metro Atlanta area for nigh my entire life and considering that outdoor dining is not a foreign concept to me. I felt even more out of place upon entering Smith’s Olde Bar, but when I strolled into The Music Room and heard live music, I was at home. Suddenly, I fit in. Regarding that timeless existential motif of finding oneself and finding one’s place in the world, I suddenly felt enlightened. No matter where I am, what my circumstances are, nor whom else in the crowd, when I’m exposed to live music, I’m home. A few years ago, live comedy would’ve been the impetus that brought me to Smith’s Olde Bar. More recently, I found myself drawn in by the music of Lily Rose, a young songwriter from Athens whom plays alongside her younger brother and best friend, which makes their chemistry and stage presence significantly better. Unbeknownst to me, there would be 3 opening acts, which led to a whopping 4 hours of live music! Even more remarkable, I paid less than $ 10 for my ticket! My time at Smith’s Olde Bar was spent upstairs in The Music Room, whereas the restaurant is on the ground floor, so I have nothing to report of the menu. The Music Room’s atmosphere is equal parts: intimate, dive bar, party. It features a bar, a few tables, approximately 3 dozen chairs, and its capacity seems to be 200(though the website claims 300). When I initially stepped into The Music Room, I was astounded by the age diversity; Smith’s Olde Bar doesn’t seem like a hangout spot for those in retirement range. However, I soon realized that said individuals were the bands’ parents, uncles, and aunts. With the passage of time, the venue became inundated with skinny jeans and sandals. Stickers/decals are strewn about everywhere upstairs. In fact, the interior is so densely adorned with stickers/decals that finding restrooms and subsequently discerning the men’s versus the women’s is a challenge. After«draining the snake,» I found a chair to settle on. As more individuals funneled in, my vantage point became less and less desirable. I then elected to sit atop the steps leading to the few tables, which was an unobstructed view at the time. Then more humanity filled The Music Room, which prompted me to take my rightful place, front row and center. Now that I’m thinking about it, I should’ve immediately procured a spot directly in front of the stage because I’m accustomed to being front row and because I deserve nothing less. Interestingly, this experience is an example of the ambivalence I harbor for strangers; I don’t really care about what strangers think, but I’m so considerate of others that I decided to sit on the floor because I didn’t want to block the view of those whom I moved ahead of. As much as I enjoyed Lily Rose’s performance, I value what happened after the curtain call even more. When all of Lily Rose’s friends and family were ostensibly done congratulating her and making small talk, I approached to share my thoughts regarding her band, her music, and one of life’s disappointments. I love love LOVE engaging entertainers after their shows because that means they care enough to devote time to fans and because that satisfies my need to be heard and to feel important. I get the impression that musician-fan interaction is common at Smith’s Olde Bar, especially considering that the concert ended at 12:15AM and that the restaurant/bar are open until 3:00AM, which also meant that the staff weren’t eager to expedite the crowd away. Lily Rose implied that she had difficulty sleeping the night before her concert due to her level of excitement. Conversely, I had some difficulty falling asleep after the concert, as I usually do. But I gladly accept some degree of sleeplessness for the spring in my step, the exhilaration, and the special feeling of validation that follows from when entertainers indulge me. Being made to feel important by someone whom is important, being made to feel special by someone whom is special, that’s the secret sauce that keeps me up at night.

This is a great spot to get casually drunk. There’s $ 5 pitchers of Blue Moon on Mondays and the people here are always friendly. It looks like a tiny hole in the wall from the outside, but it actually huge on the inside. There’s 4 pool tables, a main bar area, and 2 concert venues. Last time I was here, one of the pool tables was malfunctioning and letting us play for free all night.

Came here for bluegrass brunch and sat at the bar. Good tunes, spicy bloody marys, mediocre food. Divey place with no frills. Not much parking, so I utilized the open spaces in the Publix lot.

Stopped in for the bluegrass brunch last Sunday. I absolutely loved the vibe of the place, my breakfast quesadillas were pretty awesome & the Bloody Mary was decent. Definitely somewhere I’ll venture into again on a Sunday or on an evening to hear some live music. May not go right when brunch & the band supposed to start though. The band took a while to get going, then played one song & went on break for 30mins+ to eat breakfast. We got there about 15mins before they were supposed to start, stayed well over an hour & only heard one song. I assume they weren’t too concerned bc it was our group of 3& the bands friends, that they dined with. So perhaps waiting til noon would be a good idea, that way they’ve had a chance to eat & you can listen to some music while you eat & drink instead of looking hopefully at the stage!

Obviously a great place for music with 2 rooms dedicated for that purpose. But also pretty darn good on food too. Although the music rooms are not really conducive to eating while listening, they will serve you there. And unfortunately you can’t hear the music from either room in their multi room restuarant/bar. Plenty of other things to grab your attention though with big screens for sports, pool tables, and spacious booths for hanging with friends. Biggest issue is parking. It is amazing to me that this place has been in that spot for decades and never really solved their parking problem. Most people park at the mall across the street.

I was at Smith’s Olde Bar for my dance studio’s event January 3rd. It was a busy night as the Steelers were playing, and the main floor was packed with football fans. The only space available that wasn’t reserved was a stool at the bar between two parties. My husband was able to get the bartender’s attention, and even though it was a hectic night, she was all smiles and cheery helpfulness. I was impressed with how she not only kept her cool, but she was so friendly, even when calling out to give us our food from the bar. Awesome service. I got a BLT, and it was just as a BLT should be. Crunchy on the outside, mayo on the inside, and not skimping on the B, the L, or the T.(Of course not skimping on the bacon is the most important, but I was glad to have a well balanced sandwich.) Curly fries came with, and they were your standard tasty curly fry. Our event was in the room on the second level. We were packed full with our own bartender and waitress for the whole room. These ladies, too, kept their heads and seemed to do a great job with the crowd. Up in our private room, the cozy atmosphere lent itself to a mounting energy within. Cozy and perfect. Down on the main floor, folks were standing where they couldn’t sit to be a part of the Steelers crowd and enjoy the game. If I were a sports girl, I bet it would have been a good time. I got a White Russian(sans vodka) from the bar on the main floor, and yes it’s a mild drink, but I loved it. That’s all I tried alcohol-wise for the evening, though. Major plus: the women’s bathroom I visited was very clean. My only complaint with Smith’s is how small the parking lot is and how you usually have to park across the street and the shopping strip, but my husband date dropped me off at the door, and I didn’t have to walk far. Great service, divey atmosphere, definitely a place for the locals, and fun for private events. Good BLT, too. :)

I’m currently sitting in the midst of the Iron Bowl, a spectacular football contest between the University of Alabama and consummate rivals, Auburn University. When I tell you this place out of control, I’m talking call the Fire Marshall, the National Guard and the Ghostbusters. I just watched a man rally an entire party of strangers into a riotous frenzy! A woman in white pants is thrusting her crotch into another woman’s face. The victim’s over-attentive man grimaced at the display. With every touchdown, the madness deepens. Gnashing teeth, howling chants, very anthropological. The servers held it down through the horrible scene — Men foaming and bellowing, cawing and braying. Drinks came out and the servers were never salty even though it would have been understandable given the bonkers workload. These 4 stars are for y’all. Great place to watch an Alabama game, even if you don’t care about Alabama games. Fox Bros. BBQ sauce. Smith’s, you’re OK.

Went to see Sweetie’s friend play here. It’s bigger than I expected, but was packed on a Saturday night, due to several bands and the Alabama game. Out front is a big bar/dining area, which we just walked through. Looked nice though, and there were booths and plenty of TVs. There are several music areas; we were in a small one downstairs. You pay to get into it, at least for some bands. It wasn’t very big, and it was packed. Sweetie sat on a small table while I balanced it. The acoustics were great, and the staff was nice. All in all, a decent venue, and seemed to be a good bar. Didn’t get a chance to have any food or drinks. No parking; we parked in the mall lot around the corner.

The worst experience I’ve had in a restaurant. Our party could have been hemorrhaging to death and she wouldn’t have paid us any more attention. The beer on draft was stale and the lighting was something out of a Saw movie. We had to use our phones to see the menu. We paid $ 8 a piece to see a band play. You know, live music? The band played 2 songs and we were kicked out or had to pay another $ 8 to see the next set. Total bulls***! This place needs some new management and/or some new staff. Totally ridiculous.

We stopped at SOB(Smith’s Olde Bar) mainly because they were one of the few that allowed 18+(a member of our group was 20) and we wanted to kill some time trying a local hangout that offered billiards. It had a nice atmosphere to call their own, offering plenty of room as well as memorabilia from the many musical acts that graced their stage. The overall pricing was reasonable for the alcohol you got. Having just eaten we did not try any of their food items that they offer. Billiards was $ 1 per game and they offer a decent amount of well maintained tables(4) and plenty of decent cue(with chalk!). While there is no smoking inside, the back patio offers a place to unwind away from their overall bar atmosphere. This allows those who need a puff the ability to take a drag while keeping the interior air smoke-free for those around them. Parking is non-existent, so take a cab or if driving a short walk across the street will find you at a sort of outdoor mall with plenty of spaces. Just remember to look both ways and watch out for cars.
