Every frequent traveler quickly learns to establish a «fallback» position in attempts to seek sustenance while on the road. A hurried pace, simply not being hungry enough for a larger meal, seeking dinner after most places have closed or simply needing a restroom which(generally) exceeds the gas station level of cleanliness are fairly common occurrences. The criteria for such establishments tends to be basic: widespread distribution, predictability, long hours of operation, acceptable palatability and general cleanliness. For the last 15 years, my fallback has been Subway, and with the exception of a bout of serious food borne illness from their Danville, VA franchise, rarely the cause for serious complaint. I usually don’t review the many Subway locations I’ve visited, as the only variable(Danville aside) tends to be the human element; the attitudes and professionalism of their in-store personnel. This would make for some dull reading, even where the tops of my shoes were wet mopped by a worker overanxious to end his shift. After reading the Unilocal complaints about general cleanliness and staff attitudes at this particular location, my hopes weren’t particularly high that this Subway would be Unilocal-worthy, for good or bad. What I can conclude after our visit is that the offenders cited by prior Unilocalers seem to have been adequately retrained or have moved on to McD’s. The young man who assisted us in filling our orders for five somewhat indecisive diners was patient, knowledgeable and personable. The store was moderately busy, and when he began to fall a bit behind, he knew exactly when to summon assistance. Further, there was little doubt that his attention and efforts were focused upon his work, rather than idle chatter with coworkers, personal cell phone calls or staring-off into space. Somewhere in Metro Atlanta a Subway franchisee should be very proud.

I have lived in Atlanta for over 9 years throughout my young adulthood and this Subway has never let me down. Thanks for being there for me Edgewood Subway.

Location was quite filthy. Someone had spilled soda on the tables — ALL of them! Weird. I asked a staff member to clean up one of the tables so I could eat my sandwich, which by the way, was gross. He couldn’t be bothered. Lazy staff, filthy seating area, and they were really cheap with their servings. The guy put 4 little olive slices, 1 piece of bell pepper, one slice of tomato on my veggie sub. Ridiculous!

The bread is always fresh and the workers are always friendly. I eat at this location 2 – 3 times a week.

This Subway is the worst. Always understaffed, bad customer service, and just all around disappointing customer experience. Relative to other Subways I give this one zero stars.

This Subway really is A-ok for what it is. Sure food quality is not great but no Subway is. This Subway is fast, efficient, fairly friendly, and can make a decently tasty sandwich. Add chipotle sauce for flavor and don’t pay more than the $ 4 meal of the day. Nothing at Subway, in my opinion, is worth paying more than $ 5 for. They have a good health score and usually plenty of seating. It’s an average, quick value for lunch.

I became seriously ill as a result of food poisoning contracted at this Subway, as confirmed by the doctor who treated me. I felt like I would die and I am not exaggerating – weeks to fully recover! I reported my illness to the Dekalb County Health Department and later contacted the store. I was transferred to someone at the franchisee office who promised someone would call me the following week to follow up about covering my illness-related expenses. I waited all week and never heard anything so I called the same man again. He said he would look into it and I still have not heard anything from them. From the tone of his voice, he was lying and they had no intent to show concern or compensate me for making me the sickest I have ever felt in my life. A check of their past health inspections found a history of handwashing-related violations, and the same employee who prepared my food was also operating the register and taking money. Yuck! Stay away from this place at all costs. Obviously, the owners only care about their bottom line – no concern for customers and no integrity.

It’s Subway. You know what you are getting. A pleasant employee today gets three stars. They seem to be enjoying their job today.

I like that they have deal days on sandwhiches. The honey oat bread is a must. This location can be a hit or miss with service but the food is always fresh.

First of all, the food at any Subway sucks, but this particular location is the worst because of the service. How hard could it be to run a sandwich place? Apparently the person that owns this one must find it pretty hard. I ventured in a handful of times for lunch during the first couple of years they were open. I could see the erosion happening with each visit. The first time I was met with uncaring staff that wouldn’t look at me as they spoke. The next it was amplified by the same staff and limited bread choices. The next time same problems plus a television that was blaring daytime talk shows at full volume. The next time I walked in on what seemed to be an argument between co-workers. They wouldn’t speak to each other and there was a lot of tension in the air as they made very deliberate movements to open things or set things down. These visits were occurring randomly with months or years in between them. Then I stopped in one day and found the entire place staffed with a bunch of middle aged white dudes in ties. They greeted us loudly as we walked in the door. It was obvious they’d fired the entire staff and were there to get the place back on track. It was a little funny to see them laying on the customer service so thick then fumble around trying to figure out where things were. That was a temporary fix. A few weeks ago I stopped in because Willy’s was packed and I didn’t have time to wait. There was no one in the place. I was the only customer. It was Saturday and that shopping center was wall to wall people and no one was eating in Subway. Bad sign. I don’t even remember what I ordered because it all tastes like cardboard to me. On a more general note: how can you use«eat fresh» as your slogan and then display that weird processed chicken chunk with the fake grill marks on it.

It’s a Subway: you know what you’re going to get. Nothing special. I like that this location is open till 11, even though they may run out of certain ingredients before closing time. The toaster doesn’t exactly toast, but they’ll get you what you need. When in a pinch, it’ll do.

Nothing special could be said about Subway. It’s just a chained sandwich and sub shop, or hoagies as we Philadelphians like to say. The general idea of Subway is «Eating Fresh.» Quite honestly, I don’t even know whether it’s really healthy. Their«Healthy Subs» are tasteless and bland, To make the matters worse, they are quite expensive for what they offer. The service wasn’t impressive at all. The person who was making the subs was super slow, so the line started to get longer and longer, to the point where I couldn’t even see the end. Also, when he was making my sub, he practically threw the ingredients into my sub. I don’t ask them to make my sub like my mom would, but please, give some care. Geez! For those of you who are originally from Philly and the Tri-state area, you know Wawa hoagie is so much better than Subway. Perhaps that’s why Subway isn’t oh-so popular in Philly. If only Wawa was down here. sigh
