Refreshingly good and authentic Indian food. This is coming from an Indian! We started of with few mocktails. Barring the California beach, the rest were average. They had put too much masala in it which ruined the original taste. Moving on to appetizers, we had lasooni cauliflower and spinach chaat. The lasooni cauliflower was really yummy and had a nice garlic flavor to it. The spinach chaat was bland and not so great The main course was really good. We had paneer pasanda which was slightly on the sweeter side(as it should be) but still tasted good. The chicken Korma was average. The avial was the showstopper. As authentic as it gets. I was told it is cooked by a Keralite so no wonder! Overall good experience at a posh location and nice ambience. But be prepared to pay for it. Our bill came up to $ 40 per person. Yikes!!! And don’t forget to validate your parking.

Being originally from India– I usually go out for looking good Indian food! This place has good tasty food! The only one demerit in food is their spice level– that’s too hot! They don’t even ask or have an option to choose your spice level! Spice kind of over-rule the taste! Service– I understand that’s expensive place to eat but then you expect that level of service too! We told them that the food is really hot, they said oh ok and then did nothing! Kind of disappointing service! And this place is expensive — we had dal Bukhara and paneer pasanda they were as a average around $ 15 dishes! You can try once but they can definitely improve!

Food was wonderful, service was terrible. He was kind of snotty. Didn’t offer dessert or another cocktail. Just brought me the check. Would have gotten both for whole table, but whatever. Went to Café Intermezzo instead. Too bad I won’t go back because they really did have good food.

Came in here with the family for a special occasion and was really looking forward to visiting this restaurant. It is not often that I have Indian cuisine. With a rather large party of seventeen people, we had reservations and requested that our party be together at one table. As we entered, we were told that our party would have to sit at two separate tables since another large party was seated at the table our party had requested. The management apologized for the inconvenience, but I somehow got the feeling that the restaurant’s hands were tied on this one. After seating nine people at one table and eight at the next table, we ordered our drinks and small plates. Among the more popular small plates that our party ordered was the Veggie Samasa, a deep fried turnover filled with potato and peas($ 6.00). The Tandoori Octopus($ 14.00), and the Short Ribs($ 14.00). Everyone enjoyed their small plates. For the main course, I ordered the Shrimp Moilee(18.00), a Keralan coconut milk shrimp curry, a spicy dish served with rice. A rich curry flavor with a few red peppers to add plenty of heat. It was delicious, but there were only five-six shrimp in the curry sauce. For $ 18.00, would it kill you to add a few more shrimp? Other items our party ordered were the Dhaba Chicken Curry($ 18.00), the Bater Marsala, which is a whole quail pan seared in a spicy onion/tomato sauce($ 20.00), and two lamb dishes. The Lal Mas Lamb Shank served with a spicy curry($ 19.00), and the Lamb Vindaloo, lamb rump in a spicy red chili paste curry($ 19.00). All at our party were happy with their meal. And along with our dinner, we order the naan, a garlic bread that was delicious. Quite popular at our table! Tabla has a full bar, and Indian beer, such as Taj Mahal, by the bottle, is available. But visiting Atlanta, I just had to order a local craft beer. Prince of Pilsner by 3Taverns was my choice. Among a few problems with our dining experience: When our small plates arrived, my order got mixed up and was delivered to the other table. A fault of the server. I had to track down our server and tell him that my order of the Veggie Samasa had not arrived, and I had to wait while the other guests in our party started to eat. This also happened to another diner in our party who ordered the Bater Marsala(quail). She had to wait while others in our party started to eat. Another problem I had was the server wanting to remove my bowl/plate before I was finished. I will let you know when I am finished. And by the way, I am still having a serving of naan, so please do not remove the serving bowl from the table. Other than any problems with the service and a problem with not getting the desired table we requested, I would recommend Tabla to anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion, or to anyone who has never tried Indian cuisine. With a low lit interior and dining area that is clean and comfortable, Tabla makes for a dining experience that is out of the ordinary, everyday meal. And everyone in our party was happy with their meal. I would like to come here again on my next visit just to try another dish from their menu. Providing it has those red peppers that add that heat!

Menu changed in April 2016. Some favorite dishes are gone. Service at recent visit was pretty bad.

High end Indian restaurant with full bar. Food quality and service are good. Taste is okay, not typical Indian spicy but mild and still decent.

Fabulous Indian Food. I come to Atlanta for work a lot and this place will always be a stable. Even better than my hometown favorite Indian food spot. Portions are pretty big. Very tasty. Overall, I would recommend because the food was soo good. My only negative was one time when I ordered online, I got there after the estimated 30min, and they claimed they didn’t have my order? I sat for about 5min and they managed to get my food together, so it wasn’t that big of a deal, but they might not be well organized? I’d be interested to see how their service was when you’re actually there.

Dropped by for drinks after walking around the neighborhood. Mike, the bartender, has definitely been an asset to this amazing neighborhood gem! We love coming here!

Really unfortunate that this place has sold out. I regularly visited during the year I loved across the street(as in multiple times a week) and I recently moved to the west side and came back tonight to grab takeout. I haven’t been in about a month… the tikka masala with chicken raised in price from $ 13 to $ 18!!! That is absurd. I understand prices raising a dollar or two, but they haven’t updated the menu on Unilocal or their mobile website and I consulted it before ordering. I ordered bread and the tikka masala and it cost me $ 25 for bread and a chicken curry so if you’re single and on a budget here is your heads up. When I asked the manager why it was almost $ 10 more than what I’m used to payIng he casually said they changed the menu a month ago and waltzed off. I didn’t even have the chance to tell him that I orders red based on the menu I read on THEIR website. It was really uncomfortable and for that reason I’m taking three stars from management. I can’t wait to try Touch in west midtown, it’s a new Indian spot and the tikka masala is $ 10. Better Unilocal reviews… hopefully they know how to treat a regular!

When I was visiting Atlanta for a job interview I was craving Indian(pretty standard for me) and I checked this place out after seeing some good reviews. It’s in a great location, very chic interior and great customer service. My server recommended a few of his favorite dishes and was sure to be extra attentive as I was eating alone. The food is some of the best I’ve had in Atlanta(so far) and the price is right too! I had amazing garlic naan, chicken tikka masala and aloo gobi. I could barely stand up to walk out but I couldn’t stop eating it! I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a good Indian meal.

Vegetarian friendly! So good I came twice… I stayed in midtown during a 3 day business trip here and came back to Tabla twice! The Indian food here is the best I’ve had since London. Even the food in the Bay Area doesn’t compare! I recommend everything I ordered. For breads — the Rumali(extra thin) Roti and Kashmiri naan. For entrees — Malai kofta and Paneer. For dessert — gulab jamun. As I was eating alone I sat up at the bar and had a great conversation with the bartender and owner. Definitely check this place out for good vegetarian/Indian food in Atlanta!

Being from Cali, I’m no stranger to good Indian food. My friend recommended that I try tabla out on my recent trip to Atlanta. Tabla is located in midtown and parking can be an hassle! It took me a good 15 minutes to actually locate the restaurant and then find parking. Upon entrance, the restaurant is dim lighted, and has an modern hip vibe to it. We were seated and given the menu. There is limited options for vegetarians which was a bit disappointing. I decided to get the kofta curry and my guest got the vegetable sabzi with garlic naan. When we asked the waiter about portion size, he said both the curries are on the small size. When we got our dishes, the curries were a pretty good portion size easily enough for 2 people. If we had known the true portion size, we would have just gotten 1 curry. As for the food, the kofta curry was pretty good. The flavors were there but it was on the spicier side. The vegetable sabzi was also on the spicier side but it still was flavorful. It came with a side of rice which was perfect and the garlic naan was decent. The flavors of garlic did not really stand out in the naan and I wish they buttered it properly. Overall, a decent experience but I was not blown away by the restaurant. I would probably not go out of my way to come here again but I wish the restaurant much success!

Before I start about this restaurant, PARKINGISHORRIBLE. The deck next to the restaurant, where it’s the closest unless you want to park blocks away, shows you a sample taste of what NYC parking is like. If you don’t have the voucher, it’s 30 dollars. IF you have the voucher, it’s 12 dollars. Restaurant décor is great inside, and there is a live kitchen glass where you can watch the cooks prepare your meal. It’s a pretty popular scene for dates. I saw a lot of couples there while I was having my first meal at the restaurant. Saag: The spinach was very fine. The texture and visual gave me the impression that it might have been a spinach pure. The Saag’s I had in the past had diced or minced spinach. I thought it was great still because it gave a great smooth texture with the spices. It made it easier to mix the sauce with my rice and absorbed it better. It was 17 dollars, and this is the part I don’t agree with. I am guessing you pay for this because you’re in midtown. However, if you go up 10 minutes in your car, you can find authentic Saag for about 10 dollars. Overall, it was a great dish and I enjoyed, minus the price. Tikka Masala: This had a good balance yogurt, cream, chili pepper, and tomato. Sometimes, people put too much emphasis on the cream side and becomes blend, and other times, people focus more on the tomato, chili, etc. and becomes much more acidic than it needs to be. For this dish, it had a good balance with a fairly good amount of chicken. Again, this was 17 dollars as well, and I felt you can get it half the price 10 minutes up north. Balti: Balti reminded me of an Eastern Asian dish mixed with Indian. It was not as saucy as the other curry dishes, and still had a good kick to it. The dish felt like a side dish than a main meal to me. However, it’s still good. Ok, I am repeating myself here but it was 17 dollars etc. You get the picture. Vindaloo: This curry had a kick. More kick than the Balti. If you can’t handle spicy food, you shouldn’t get this. Common American people cannot eat this because it’s spicy. For people, like Asians, they can handle this. This had a creamy and soft texture where it went well with the rice. I mixed it with my Saag as well, and it was a great combination. So if you happen to sit at table where these two are presented to you, try mixing the sauces with your rice. It has a lot of red chili emphasis in the sauce, so it’s red. Overall, it was a good experience here. I have had their appetizers in the past as well, but it was nothing great or fancy. It was my first time trying their main course dishes, and they did a good job. The only thing is that you don’t get a good priced Indian food, but that can’t be helped due to its location. Other main entrees are over 21 dollars, so it’s not a reasonable(price) place for Indian food. The amount of food is ok, and don’t expect anything too big.

I came for lunch due to Atlanta dining out passbook. The restaurant look really nice and modern. Very sophisticated and classy. lt was easy to find parking and the restaurant will give you a free validation ticket after your meal. The customer service was very friendly. My server was very funny and helpful with the service. The food was very good, the seasoning is just right. Not too salty or too spicy either. I wouldn’t said this place is authentic Indian food but I will definitely come back to celebrate special occasion. My friend had the lamb chop and she definitely like it. I had the chicken based on the server recommendation, it wasn’t too bad but I didn’t have much appetite today.

A Decent Indian restaurant in Atlanta. Nice location ample parking. Don’t forget to have it validated at the end of your meal. Ice cold kingfishers from the bar and appetizers of paneer tikka and fried okra to start. Curries are limited. Korma and tikka masala stand out. They also prepare fusion Indian dishes not available at other Indian restaurants. Breads are hot and delicious. Try plain garlic and truffle. The biryani rice dishes are delicious. Try the veg with your curry. They need to use better quality or homemade paneer cheese(needs to be much softer) and they also need to use fresh veggies instead of frozen. And this place will really do well. Place is clean service is above average. Restrooms are also surprisingly clean. Get there in time for lunch. They start getting pushy during the end. Recommend you give it a try if you like Indian food or Indian food with a twist.

Can’t say enough about the great meal we had here! Modern, clean, nice new space, great bar. We had a «thali» which allowed us a few sides for only $ 12 for lunch. We asked out knowledgeable server for a substitute from the typical chicken Masala and we tried the Chicken Balti, which was delicious. We were supposed to take the rest home but it was so yummy we had to stuff ourselves. This spot is great for dinner and they also do ½ off bottles of wine on Tuesday’s. In the 7712th Street area by Crescent Avenue intersection.

Taj Mahal Grill in Kennesaw has my favorite Indian dish in Atlanta, but Tabla is my favorite Indian restaurant overall. The food is all great and it has a really cool ambiance. My favorite thing here is the Kurkuri Bhindi. I’ve had a lot of fried okra dishes living here in the south, but this one has so much flavor. We also got the Tabla kofta, chicken Tikka, vindaloo, and paneer pasanda. The vindaloo has a nice little kick to it!

Tabla is my favorite Indian restaurant in Atlanta so far. I really enjoy the atmosphere and the food. I’ve always made a reservation when coming here but it hasn’t been crowded so I’m not positive if a reservation is necessary needed. It doesn’t hurt though! My favorite dishes here are the garlic naan, the chili naan, the vegetable samosas, lamb vindaloo and lamb saag. Their vindaloo is spicier than most places, which I love! I’ve always had good service here as well; the staff is very friendly. They comp parking so make sure you park in the lot that is right next door on 12th.

Tabla is clearly exploiting a market that’s only been tapped into by Bhojanic in Atlanta so far. Indian food, trendy vibes and conveniently located. There are a few things I really liked here and a few that I felt were completely unacceptable. LAMBSAAG. In my opinion, this is a must on the menu for anyone planning to come here. LAMBSEEKKEBOB, SERVEDWITHANORCHID. It not only tasted great, but had an orchid on the plate. Neat touch. THESTENCHTHATRUINEDTHENIGHT. Yes, when I say stench, I mean it. The employee coming to refill water and take the plate off the table had a horrible body odor. So disgusting and out of place. Management needs to get on top of this. VERYOVERPRICEDWINES. This is the other reason that Tabla did not make me happy. Wines aren’t just a standard double the cost of a store, but 3 to 4 times! They are clearly relying on people who know nothing about wine to buy these bottles. One of the worst choices on the menu is the wine from India, that retails for under $ 10 and they sell if for almost $ 40. I also felt that the selection was lackluster. So, just stick to the Kingfisher here.

I’ve been seeing Tabla in the neighborhood and finally got up the courage to try it. Modern décor with great service! I sat at the bar with no problems. Was immediately served some large crackers with 3 dipping sauces. Tried the spinach chaatt salad. It was delicious and the texture of the flash fried spinach makes the salad fun to eat. Also got their Vindaloo curry with chicken. The meat was tender and cooked all the way through, but WHOO that baby was SPICY. Had to ask for a side of yogurt and even that couldn’t quell the heat. Bartender was sympathetic and got me a little bit of ice cream at the end. Drinks were also great! Definitely try their version of the old fashion — they infused chai spice flavor into their bourbon.
