Yes! I recently went here on a belated birthday dinner date. First time here so didn’t know what to expect. I loved it. Quiet out the way location off of ptree. It was a friday night but wasnt crowded. Free valet parking and the food was excellent. I had the crab cake appetizer and as the waiter explained it wasnt the average style crab cake it had a veggie type twist to it but i could still taste the crab and it was delicious. I had the lamb chop entrée one of my favorite meats other than salmon so im very picky about those two dishes. It tasted great. I had to send it back once because it wasnt well like I asked but the wait staff was more than courteous and corrected the issue pretty quickly. The drinks were good and the waiter was very polite, friendly and also funny. It was also less expensive than I had anticipated. I liked the atmosphere of the establishment as well. I enjoyed my experience. I hope its the same or better next time I go back.

NEVERAGAIN! BADLYRUNRESTAURANTANDINCOMPETENTSTAFF!!! I had a gift certificate and wanted to enjoy a nice romantic dinner with my boyfriend last Friday night. I made a 9:30pm reservation via Unilocal. We arrived 10 minutes early and were told our table wasn’t ready. The atmosphere was VERY loud, with two separate parties of badly-behaved women as well as a solo singer. We patiently waited a good 25 minutes for our table and weren’t even acknowledged in the process(no offer of a drink, a drink menu, water, NOTHING). We finally got our table and the waitress brought water. I’m a little irritated now and dying for a cocktail. She comes back and asks to take our dinner order without asking if we wanted a drink.(Hello?) We order cocktails which took FOREVER. He ordered an old fashioned which wasn’t made correctly. My drink was fine. As if the 2 tables of large parties weren’t loud enough, the singer stopped and there was a saxophone player serenading a couple at the table right in front of us. I’m all about live music, but this was ridiculous at a restaurant. My boyfriend and I couldn’t even hold a conversation. We were shouting at each other. It’s pretty dark inside and people around us were snapping pictures with bright flashes. It was annoying. We order the samosas for an appetizer. Samosas were small, but very tasty. The waitress never came back to take the appetizer plates, so I had to move them out of the way myself. She finally comes and takes our dinner order. Now another waiter brings the food. «Chicken and steak?» he says. I reply«he ordered chicken, but I ordered stew.» He responds, «this is steak, not stew.» My boyfriend informs him he brought it to the wrong table, but the waiter had an attitude as if it was our fault. SOUNPROFESSIONAL! One of the large dinner parties finally left. But then there was dance music blaring and people are dancing in the entrance area by the hostess stand. The waitress came by to check on us and I asked if the music could be lowered. I asked her if this was a restaurant or a club. She said the owner decided to host a party for his friends. I asked her why he didn’t do that after hours. She had no response. The music was never lowered. It ruined the whole experience. I couldn’t even enjoy the food. She asked if I wanted to speak with the manager. Honestly, I just wanted to get the heck out of there. A manager never appeared. I was so angry when I left. It wasn’t even worth the cost of the dinner after the coupon. To make it worse, the valet guys were idiots. Compliments to the chef! The food was delicious, which was a shame. The chef should find another restaurant.

Love the atmosphere, love the décor, love the beautiful staff, love the hookah and drinks! The only thing I didn’t love, which made me leave earlier than I wanted, was the fact that the live music/dj was so incredibly loud that you had to yell in everyone’s ear to hear them. I’m sure I’ll be back regardless.

The atmosphere is dim and moody. It is a small, intimate restaurant with a small bar. Asian inspired décor. Love the red, deep brown, and cream colors. Perfect for dates or an adult group gathering. Food was solid. I loved the Short Smoked Salmon Pappadum Tacos(light, crisp, and very tasty). For the entrée I tried the Grilled Lamb Sirloin and Eggplant Frites. They had great texture and perfectly seasoned. The sirloin had a nice taste, was cooked as I wanted(medium), but needed more salt and pepper. The salmon was cooked perfectly but simple. The other entrée I tried was pork shoulder with beans. The pork had a vinegar taste which I liked but needed more seasoning. And the beans were a bit undercooked. I expected the food to be a little more distinctive. The price per entrée ranges about $ 14 — $ 29. I enjoyed my «The Riviera» drink that was made with La Marca Prosecco, Gran Marnier & Blood Orange. It was light and not overly sweet… perfect for me :) The service was fine. I made reservations for a party of 6 for my birthday for 8:30 on a Saturday. We arrived around 8:15. We still had to wait until 8:45 to get seated. The waiter was good. He was very attentive and helpful. The only disappointment was I expected a complimentary birthday dessert but didn’t receive it. Overall, it was a nice experience. I enjoyed the intimate feel there. The food was cooked well but not spectacular. The service was average. If it’s your birthday, make sure to remind them so you can get your complimentary dessert. Also, It is a small place so I’d highly recommend making reservations.

Really??? Please dont believe the hype, its not that great. Taste of food is average and service is moderate. They try to bring some good ambiance(I dont know how effective is that), they have nice décor but it fails to raise the ambiance. This restaurant is always empty so if you take a reservation then thats an unwanted luxury. They have live jazz in every Thursday, so that will increase the total ambiance, so if you planning to dine in here make sure thats a thursday. Only valet parking here, so keep change. One last thing — to me personally, the menu prices ddnt match with the quality of the food. So make sure you reserve through groupon and get 30% discount or purchase $ 25 off discount cards from Good — nice décor, live jazz in Thursday. Bad — Food is not that great, nice décor but not the ambiance, average service.

I love this place. Everything about it! The service is amazing and the atmosphere is to die for. I love the dark red and sultry setting. It is perfect! I have been here on two different occasions and the setting is great for a variety of dinner dates. First I came with a friend for a girls night! We got dressed up, had a wonderful dinner, and had drinks at the bar. We loved it so much we wanted to go back for Ladies Night! I can’t remember what we ordered… maybe it was the drinks, but I remember it was good! The second time was for my birthday! If you buy tickets for a show at the Fox, you can get a $ 25.00 gift card on . Cha Ching! Tantra was one of the restaurants you can choose from. Brilliant idea… so guess where my mother-in-law and I had dinner! At Tantra of course! We both ordered the Sea Scallops with soy greens on a bed of whipped potatoes. I know this was the BESTSCALLOPS I have ever eaten in my entire life! A variety of different items on the menu. A must try for diners that love to experience different foods.

My husband made a reservation for my birthday and we had a decent sized group. We arrived early and sat at the bar, we were greeted and everyone’s demeanor was great. We sat at the bar and waited for our party, the bartender was really nice and attentive for the time we were at the bar. Then ambiance and décor is great. Once our party arrived and we sat at the table the waitress came over and greeted us and took our drink and app orders. the food was delicious, I had the scallops and I thought they were great. My birthday dessert was good too. We had a really good time, no one in my party had a bad meal or a bad drink. We all committed to going back. The only thing that was annoying was the live music which was way too loud. Other than that I really don’t understand why this place doesn’t pack out, because it was a little empty on a Friday night when we went.

Very easy to give this place 5 stars; we really enjoyed our experience & time here. The hostess & maitre’ d were very nice & even the bus boys were super polite & friendly. The atmosphere & music help add to the overall cozy environment. We found this place from & a gift certificate but keep in mind, if you have a certificate from , you can only use one per visit. We had a lamb tartar starter, braised pork shoulder & sea scallops. Everything was outstanding. So many different flavors that were new to us made the items we ordered that much better. The other great thing about Tantra is the prices of most entrée items. A part of me doesn’t want to write anything about the prices because I fear they may raise them lol but for the portions & quality of our menu items, I was very impressed with the affordable pricing. Parking is valet but complimentary. Get out to Tantra for a taste of something different!

Good décor, good food, good service; this place has got everything good to offer. I have been there 5 – 6 times and it’s always good, though the first experience was the best. None of our friends find this place as good as my wife and I do, so it has become ‘our thing’ now.

I’ve been here many times over the years and I have always ALWAYS enjoyed it in the past. Last night ended our stretch of good fortune with this place. Because I love it, my family brought me back for my birthday last night and we noticed tacky handbags strewn all over counters, floors, chairs, and tables, and there were people that looked like real housewives of Atlanta wannabes everywhere. The table manager greeted us peering through a sea of gold-dipped, chain-link, dress-belted women and made every accommodation that I think he had, given the circumstances. Strangely, all the tables were empty except one woman with her tongue down a man’s throat against the wall as we were taken to a back area that I had never been to before. This seemed like a good idea at the time. Then the flash photography started. And then it was a dozen cameras… and in such a dark space, this was blinding. We passed on dessert because we just wanted to go, and we didn’t order a bottle of wine(both are normal for us to order there) to shorten our time. The hummus was crazy spicy(an fish oil spice flavor) and the scallops, salmon, and lamb were just okay. It was clear that the focus was not on dining that night, it was on the event. As I left, I stopped by the bathrooms, which were both converted to dressing rooms. I couldn’t get in either because of the amazon drag queens(which I am told were real women) were in both. I just turned around and got out of the chaos and went to Kroger to use their facilities and to get something cheap and fast for dessert. I really hate to leave a review like this for a place I have so often enjoyed, but I’m convinced that they have lost their vision for what this place is. The hell to the experience, this place wants people in it at any cost… including what had to have been a non-income producing jersey-style fashion show to bastardize what is normally a very unique and wonderful place to enjoy a quiet meal with the ones you love. I think what upsets me most is that we were not told about this event when we made the reservations earlier that afternoon. We would have gladly taken a birthday dinner elsewhere and come back another night when it was occupied by normal patrons without professional camera setups throughout the dining room. Tantra… you know how create a great dining experience. You also know how to kill a special occasion.

I must say right off that I’m a fan of Tantra. I visited for the first time and was very impressed as soon as I walked in the door with my GF. We made reservations for 7:30. We were greeted with a smile and lead to our seats. The atmosphere was very smooth and sexy. If you really wanna impress a date then this is definitely a place to take them. I definitely recommend dressing up(don’t show up in jeans and a t-shirt) for a place like this. The food was very good beginning with the appetizers, followed by the entrees, and dessert. The alcoholic beverages we tried were really good also. My GF liked this place so much that she decided to have here birthday dinner here! Service was very good and our waitress was very attentive and informative. I definitely recommend Tantra to anyone looking for combination of great food and great atmosphere.

The quality has definitely gone down since the last time I came here. our server was in her own little world and half the time was no where to be found… came here for buckhead restaurant week and let me say, the portions were super small! The quality of their meat/seafood was not good at all. The lamb was full of fat! I’m sorry I do not want to have to take food out of my mouth, I want it to go into my tummy! Personally, I did not like it. It’s sad, cause the ambiance is soo good! I just wish they had better quality food… The only reason why I enjoyed myself there that night was because of the company I had with me… only for that reason was it a night that I enjoyed, but food/restaurant wise— uhhh definitely not!

Buckhead restaurant week on the very last day(Saturday dinner) so we picked things off of the prix-fixe menu. Hummus with Sauteed Lamb: The prix fixe menu selection is much smaller than the actual appetizer but delicious none the less. It is a platter of hummus with lamb sprinkled on top and warm pita on the side. Probably the best thing in the world if you like hummus. Grilled Lamb Sirloin with Eggplant Fries: The lamb at Tantra will never let you down ie it is always delectable. The eggplant fries, however, were meh. The spicy aioli was spicy indeed but being a fan of neither horseradish nor eggplant made the side a little disappointing for me. Beef Short Rib Ghormeh Sabzi: The boyfriend couldn’t finish this because the sauce was overwhelmingly sour with the taste of cranberries. The meat and rice were good but the stew wasn’t particularly enticing. Lavender Ice Cream on Warm White Chocolate Cake: So I have an obsession with ice cream and this lavender ice cream blows my mind. The pairing with the white chocolate cake makes this dessert something I would like to eat — forever. Service: Fine. I’m not too picky anyways. Sidenote: We’ve been here before(hence why we picked it for Restaurant Week) and both entrees + hummus appetizer were amazing then but they kinda dropped the ball with the the short rib. Maybe the boyfriend should be less adventurous but anyways… Verdict: Just try their lamb if nothing else. They also have promotions on deal sites that make this place a little more affordable.

DISCLAIMER: Persian food is not one of my favorites/something I seek out. The usual basmati rice with grilled meat just doesn’t do it for me. But my friend is always trying to sneak in persian restaurants… one I would definitely go back to is Nicola’s — family style because you get to try everything and everything is fantastic. For $ 24…not including alcohol. However, Tantra enticed me. I went for Restaurant Week and enjoyed my meal. Not as much as my friend but I liked the spin they had on the basmati rice(some crispy … cheese topping… it said what it was on the menu but I forgot). The chicken(bone-in) was ok. Perhaps it was my fault for taking the skin off — perhaps that was where all the flavor was… while it was juicy and perfectly cooked I found it lacking in flavor. The hummus with lamb ‘sprinkles’ was pretty good. The butter that came with the bread(it had feta in it) amazing! My friend had the lamb and I had a bite — seemed to be cooked beautifully and seasoned well. I agree with others, the crème brûlée is one of the best. The chocolate at the bottom is not overwhelming and the crème part is crème-y. On the night we went, we had great service. It was Friday around 7pm. The place started to get busier as we were leaving around 830 pm. The owner/manager stopped by to ask how everything was and I appreciate that. Back to my disclaimer, would I go back? Probably not soon but that is my personal preference. If I had to pick a Persian place to go to — I would choose Tantra or Nicolas… Tantra is that romantic, well designed, intimate place while Nicolas is more downscale/cafeteria seating with a host who balances bottles on his head. All depends on what you are looking for.

I’m so glad I finally got to try out Tantra Restaurant, even though the ostrich filet I’d been dying to try wasn’t on the menu that night. It had been a particularly trying week at work, so on Friday night when my boyfriend was coming over to spend some time with me, I hopped on my Scout Mob app to see what was new and different there. And lo and behold, Tantra turned up. Without hesitation, I made a reservation for an hour later, and we ended up there at 7:30 on the dot. The inside of the restaurant is very cool and the décor perfectly fits its description as an Asian-Persian-Indian fusion restaurant(hyper trendy, I know). But the best part is that it actually works. There’s art on the walls depicting some of the tamer kama sutra poses, a giant buddha, cool hanging lanterns, a very chic backlit bar and banquettes and booths scattered throughout the restaurant. Our server that night was very good — he was prompt and courteous and offered up advice on which drinks or dishes to try when asked. He also never made us feel rushed to make decisions or order either — which was great because we were both having a good time talking and venting that night. We started off with drinks(alcohol was almost a necessity that particular night); I ordered a fizzy champagne concoction with muddled blueberries, he had a vodka and cran, and an appetizer of sauteed lamb hummus with fresh baked naan bread. Yum! It was delicious and a perfect dish to whet our appetites for the main entrees: a lamb filet with eggplant frites for me and the hangar steak with saag aloo for him. Wow! They were both fantastic dishes — the lamb and steak were both perfectly cooked and wonderfully seasoned with a chipotle aioli and vinaigrette on the side for dipping. The eggplant frites were unusual, but I really liked them and the saag aloo was an unusual, but well paired addition to the steak. We had no room for dessert that night(both entrees were well portioned), but there plenty of options that looked tempting. The waiter took my ScoutMob app discount with no look of disdain(like I’ve received at some places), and we were good to go. The only thing to be ware of at Tantra is the valet parking situation. Since there’s virtually no parking out front, the complimentary valet takes the cars behind the restaurant to park, and it may take them a beat longer than normal to bring them back to you. Just don’t be too surprised if you have to wait a bit longer than you’re used to. Other than that, everything’s peachy. I’d love to go back when ostrich is back on the menu.

Thia is very sexy restaurant in the heart of Atlanta. On my list of most romantic restaurants in the city, this is in the top 10. The ambiance is lush with warm colors, sensual fabrics, chrystal chandeliers, and tasteful art adoring the walls with the centerpiece being two lovers wrapped in each other’s arms. Sexy — I know! I told you! There are no(that I saw) nice cozy booths to snuggle in. You will have the choice of a table or one person sits at a long booth while the other sits across on a chair; so you will be in very close proximity to other couples. If you cherish your personal space, maybe ask for a table. I have been on a Thursday and Friday(but not Saturday) and I must say, I am shocked that Friday wasn’t packed. Thursday night they feature live music with a woman singing some ballads. Sexy — I know! Not sure if they do on other nights. What I love about this place is that it is romantic without being stuffy or pretentious or overpriced. Food. I’ve been twice and have immensely enjoyed everything. Great presentation AND no artsy-fartsy amount. You have to try one of their mixed drinks. When I was there, they had something called«Aphrodite» and«Tantra Karma», but all of their drinks have wonderful sensual names. SEXY — I KNOW! Service. I’ve always been pleased. Prompt, polite and knowledgeable about the menu. Oh and people with kids: Don’t bring them. Or I will hunt you down.

FANCYPLACELOCATEDINBUCKHEADATLANTA = Affordable prices and food you can’t ignore. We made reservations and the hostess was happy to walk to our table. A bit cramped but very comfy seating. Very romantic atmosphere with the red and candles but still a great option to bring friends for a fancy dinner out. For drinks, I ordered their Pinot Noir from France and it was delicious. No dry aftertaste and just the way I like it, a hint of tart. For appetizers, I really wanted to try their oysters but ten minutes into ordering, the waiter comes back and said they were sold out. Insert sad face here, I ordered their duck confit instead. The duck had lots of flavor however, it seemed overcooked and salty. I’ve had duck confit here in Cleveland L’Albatros and it was by far the best I’ve had so Tantra, that was a bit disappointing. The raspberries however offset that saltiness but it could’ve been better. For my entrée, I ordered their scallops and this tasted great. The scallops were cooked perfectly and cutting into it, no rubbery feel and tasted moist as scallops are supposed to taste like. The mashies underneath with spinach was I think the best side dish for the scallops and I’d order this again. My friend ordered their Braised Boneless Beef Short Ribs and sounded great but took a bite and the meat was overly dry and salty. I wasn’t a big fan of it after having what I had in Cleveland’s Parallax. The meat there was tender and had a great balance of salt and sweet but the version at Tantra was different. I didn’t like it myself but to others they may like. It came with carrots and potatoes sort of like a beef stew A great tip is that if yoou check into FourSquare, you would unlock an offer where you can get 50% of your bill or $ 20 the maximum.

What a fun early evening experience! Dana, our bartender, was so much fun. And Laurend, the manager, was wonderful as well. I knew him from a previous post and we had a great time catching up on spots and favorites and such that us foodie peeps like to discuss. So, the boy and I had a few things. I can’t remember what cocktail I had but it was one of their signature gin ones; J went with his standard liquor cocktail. The food we tried was great. Last time I went, I just had cocktails — this time, it was a treat to try some of the food. The crab cake was awesome! And we are picky about crab cakes — I loved the arugula and dressing on it. The hummus with lamb meat was really good– great texture on the hummus and the meat addition was interesting, plus the naan was really good. He liked the flatbread with lamb(I think?) carpaccio more than I did. Snazzy place — a number of entrees I want to try at some point, like the scallops and the short ribs. Will return soon!

Ooh, I wished I had dressed up a little more, not because I felt underdressed in my nice top and jeans, but the place tickles the sensual and sexy in you. Mhmm. Looking for a nice, romantic dinner date, my boyfriend and I walked into this dimly lit restaurant with red and black interior. I liked that it was intimate but not pretentious. It was 7:30pm on a Friday night, so I went ahead and made a reservation– turned out to be unnecessary because it wasn’t crowded at all. The service was congenial and very prompt. My boyfriend drinks a ton of water with his meal, so we typically have to wave the server 2 – 3 times at a restaurant. The bus boy(I think) here was impressive in his ability to keep my boyfriend’s glass of water full the entire time. We really appreciated it. We started off with the specialty pita($ 7, I think?), which had jalapenos and some other mysterious ingredient in it. The naan was just the way you’d want it to be. Soft and chewy, fresh out of the oven. The refreshing cucumber slices were a nice touch. For the main course, I ordered the veal in white curry($ 16), and my boyfriend got the market fish(swordfish, $ 22). They were both fantastic! The veal was tender and buried in mild, creamy curry with a ton of mushrooms(I wouldn’t order it if you don’t like mushrooms). The mushrooms were a little too slimy, eeps. The swordfish was thick and delicious! The chickpeas added extra texture– I liked that they weren’t mushy like beans. The portions were generous, so we were too full for dessert. My boyfriend and I both really enjoyed our meal there and wanted to stay a little longer! It is a really lovely, intimate dinner spot. With the $ 40 for $ 20 deal, it was a total bargain. I’d definitely return without the deal.

Tantra is a sensual yet sophisticated place to enjoy with friends or with your love. I had a truly diva-fied night with a group of gals and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. Tantra is very city without being over the top shushy like some other places that try too hard without making a memorable mark. I love the vibe… dark and sexy! I had a champagne with Grand Marnier and blood orange to start at the beautiful bar. I then had wine with dinner and and an amazing espresso cocktail in a champagne glass with 70% proof whipped cream to finish the evening. The food was unique, presented beautifully, and very impressive. We really enjoyed the samosas and raw ground lamb appetizer over matzoh as our starters. I ordered the steak entrée, which was fabulous. I tried friend’s ostrich and another friend’s lamb. Both dishes were excellent. We also enjoyed an array of desserts, but I was honestly more consumed by my amazing espresso cocktail than the desserts. Service was great and the owner is attentive and caring. Tantra is very Midtown versus Buckhead as far as vibe. I didn’t see a striped polo shirt or a pair of boat shoes in the place… thankfully. This is definitely not a place for families or sports bar people.
