Wasn’t surprised when I saw this place was closed. Food was not good at all. Cooking with water is not the way to go. It made everything bland!

Today I saw that this location is now closed! I was sad. When I am in the middle of shopping, this was my go-to place. There was hardly ever a wait and the food was always delicious.

I’m sitting in this establishment right now. I ordered the Pan Asian Noodle bowl w/chicken. It looked good on the menu. When the cook put the bowl up in the front as it was ready, the cahsier signaled for me to come and pick it up and asked me what kind of sauce I would like, I chose the Teriyaki sauce. Now I sit here looking at an 8 dollar meal, that is no larger than a lean cuisine portion size and does not taste good. Tiny pieces of precooked chicked, very wilted cabbage, the noodle are no different than a large spaghetti noodle, and overcooked to a soggy consistency, the treiyaki sauce is like a very sweet watery substance that has a slight taste of soy sauce. I just finished my 8 dollar lunch and I’m still hungry! Sorry, but I learn my lesson the first time, won’t be back! The one star is because the cashier is a nice guy, but stuck with a bad franchise!

Misleading. They have images outside of sushi. To add to that in the title it includes the quote«made in japan.» u walk in, See more sushi images on the wall then u look at the menu. No sushi. After all the deception i was still considering eating what they have«bowls of stuff» i ask the register, wheres the sushi. He replies«we dont have sushi, this isnt a sushi style restaurant» i reply so you have it on big menu style posters on your walls but not on the menu? His snap quick reply and i quote word for word. «I DONTCARE, THEYREJUSTPICTURES» i caps locked to emphasize the just order something already attitude he said it with. I was instantly turned off. I replied, for that attitude right there you just lost my business. im leaving. He replies with a thank you. I walked away happy for being thanked for using my mind and not eating at a place where whoever this guy was, is ignorant enough to thank a customer for leaving after it was his fault for losing the customer. That and every other detail of the scenario i described. Moral of story dont eat here. Plenty of other options in this plaza to be complacent to improperly ran business like these, that obviously fall into the businesses that will fail in 5 years category.

I liked that you got to pick the exact sauce you wanted. Food is cooked up fresh and quickly. Even with the sauce though, I thought it wasn’t very flavorful. Nice serving sizes. Pretty affordable.

Ok. So it all boils down to this… Don’t eat at this place if you know what real Japanese fast food tastes like. This food is just not good. The Teriyaki Salmon bowl, gross. I’m not even sure if that was real salmon. I couldn’t finish that mess. The only thing I could actually stomach was the cabbage broccoli veggie concoction that was really not that great either. Yuck!

Unless you enjoy throwing away your money, being pissed off and hugely dissatisified do not eat here. this is a horrible, horrible experience! I had the Yakotori with Chicken… and this was 5.99 worth of flavorless noodles, cabbage and 4 pieces of broccoli. My friend had the salmon and said that she has had better canned salmon. We both sampled the asian cream style soup. In hindsight we should have walked out after that taste test. Positive: the guy that took my order was friendly. He suggested the #1 with beef. If you are foolish enough to try this place maybe order that.

Really not all that good. But then again, it’s a fast food place that cooks its food in water. So you get what you pay for. It does have free wifi, which is the only reason I ever go. They used to have a 4.99 special, but since they’ve changed it to 5.99, it’s just not worth it. Far tastier places around for similar money. The wifi is a perk though.

So… I ate here, for the first time 4 days ago… and I was starving. I was the first customer and I thought I’d give it a try since they’re trying to be a healthy option. I had the chicken wrap and it would have been better if it had more flavor. I had to keep the teriyaki sauce on hand because it was a little too bland for my taste. One thing I can say is that the wrap was hearty and it stayed smoking hot, until I finished it. I also used the restroom while at this location and they must be hooked up to the Airtran Airways radio satellite feed because while I was in there I was told to «Enjoy my flight on Airtran». And when you wash your hands, AND I HOPE U DO, the air that comes outta the hand dryer is fierce! It blows sooo hard, your hands are dry in 5 seconds flat!

I feel somewhat bad giving this place a low review because I eat here once a week or so, and I wish them the best, but I can’t in good conscience recommend them to other people unless they go for the same reasons I do. Their food is just bland and the sauces don’t stand up unless you put a huge amount on your food. The Sweet Chili sauce is tasty if you can add enough to taste it. At least the meals are cooked quickly when the grill is staffed, but sometimes they only have one person between the register and hibachi. So why do I go regularly if it’s bland and I wouldn’t recommend it? Well, while I was on the West Coast, I developed a taste for these teriyaki rice bowls, and they fit certain dietary pragmatics I try to abide by: a chicken teriyaki bowl with brown rice is relatively low in calories(500 – 600) for how filling it is, and it has a good amount of protein. So I pretty much eat it as pretty cheap fast food«health» food(one of many things in rotation to avoid monotony). How do I get around the blandness without lathering on a ton of extra sweet sauce? Well, I load the thing up with Sriracha chili sauce until my eyes water. It’s definitely covers the underlying blandness. That makes a pretty nice filling and relatively healthy meal, but you can do better if you’re going for a normal meal.

I find it hard to believe that so many UnilocalERs have given TE bad reviews. I’ve had great food everytime that I’ve visited, I ‘ve even turned one of my co-workers on to them. I always get the chicken with white rice and the sweet chili sauce. I even went today. My only problem wasn’t something they did, it was a choice I made. I got the brown rice(which I enjoy as a side dish) and because of the nutty taste that brown rice has it doesn’t work well with the Sweet Chili sauce.

A can of my cat’s fancy feast actually looked more appetizing than my meal. A piece or two of broccoli scattered in with a few shreds of cabbage, and a bit of measly looking bean sprouts. The owner, however was very nice, and he even gave me a sample of a new pork dish they are working on… unfortunately. I’ll toss in an extra star just for that. They cook with water instead of oil, which I give them props for trying to be healthy. But sadly my meal ended up just exactly where it should, the garbage. Lesson learned: Always check the almighty Unilocal bible before trying out new places!

Gross: mushy yaki noodles, watery veggies, tasteless tofu, bland sauces. Just don’t — this place is the ugly kid brother to Tin Drum.

Yeah, the name’s a little misleading. This is definitely not where I would send someone to «experience teriyaki.» If I hadn’t read all of the lovely Unilocal reviews, I would have gone into this place expecting your typical unhealthy but delicious teriyaki, and I would have left disappointed. If you go in knowing that you’re getting healthy food, then it’s not so bad. Hey, every once in awhile I’m in the mood for a bunch of steamed vegetables! Note: I’d pretty much stay away from the meat, since steamed meat with no oil is usually. well. gross. I got vegetable soup and I very much enjoyed it in all of it’s healthiness. The gyoza were fine. Not much more to say about them. Also, I can’t remember if anyone already said this, but now they have a few different flavors of sauces(rather than just the teriyaki, as someone had mentioned), though I didn’t particularly love any of the ones I tasted. The manager also gave me a bunch of coupons, so I’ll probably go back for some soup, since it’s just down the street.

This place is pretty similar to the food you’d get at a Japanese grill at the mall. I do like that they cook in water, not oil, so it’s fairly healthy. However, the chicken was kind of stringy and it wasn’t that great. My miso soup came in a Styrofoam cup, which was weird and awkward to eat. Also. the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired. It’s very«food court» and the tables are super close together. We were the only people in there, so it was quiet and we felt we had to watch our conversation. Really not the best choice. In fact, this is my second poor review of an eatery in this center. Strike 2 for Howell Mill Station.

Walk into this place with the expectation that you’re going into a ‘quick serve’ Japanese restaurant — they definitely aren’t hiding it, either. It has ‘chain restaurant’ written all over the place(giant mural of woman jump roping and smiling couples posing surrounded by a near-neon color scheme? No doubt.) — and just in case you weren’t sure, there are giant signs everywhere screaming ‘Call Us for Franchise Information!‘ The menu is pretty basic — meat or tofu with rice or noodles, sushi in the cooler, and a few appetizers like dumplings. One of their key selling points is their tag line that they use water instead of oil for cooking — giving you a healthier, ‘fast food’ choice. Though there wasn’t a ton of flavor(remedied by dousing on extra teriyaki sauce and hot sauce) it definitely did taste healthy! Pricewise, for the two of us, we spent just under $ 20 — two entrees and an order of dumplings. As a meat eater, I actually really love eating tofu, too. So how surprised was I when I discovered that the tofu dish I got actually has well over ten more grams of fat than if I’d gotten chicken?!(Thanks to the ‘nutritional value’ place mat on my tray.) Fascinating, really. I had no idea that tofu had that much fat relative to meat. It’s ok — go ahead — pause and reflect on that. Now, with all that said, I give four stars because they are exactly what they’re advertising themselves as — quick, healthy, chain food — and that’s exactly what they deliver. Note that ‘extremely tasty’ is not on that list of adjectives. But if you’re looking for actual teriyaki or anything that would stand up and proudly call itself a Japanese restaurant, as opposed to quick, decent food, skip this pre-packaged sushi place, and keep on searching other Unilocal reviews!

The weakest menu I have ever, ever seen at a restaurant. When they say«Teriyaki Experience,» what they really mean is, «Teriyaki is all that you will be experiencing here.» A normal restaurant would have several sauces to choose from, whereas here, you really just decide what meal you’d like to eat your teriyaki sauce on. The food is healthy, but, as others have said before me, it is healthy at the price of tasting horribly bland. The staff were very friendly and talkative, and the food was prepared right in front of us. The healthiness and staff get it two stars, but the flavor and absence of variety prohibit me from giving any more.

This food is flavorless filler. According to all the literature they gave out, its quite healthy because of cooking with water instead of oil. What a ridiculous idea. I try to avoid pre-packaged sushi, so can’t speak for that part of the restaurant.

Teriyaki Experience on Howell Mill offers a healthier alternative to fast food. The menu selection isn’t huge, but features noodle soups, teriyaki meals, salads, and sushi. The sushi is in packages in a cold display case by the register — they don’t make it in front of you. The shrimp noodle soup was fantastic, and I was so pleased after finding out they cook with water and everything is low cal/low fat. The service was great and the food came out fast. I may start becoming a regular, and trying to stay away from the post-work fast food habit I’ve gotten myself into.

Yum! While visiting Atlanta last week, I fell in love with this new restaurant — Teriyaki Experience. It’s a healthy and very quick option for people on the go. It smelled so good and the sizzling show they put on for me was unlike any other quick serve restaurant I’ve experienced. The teriyaki flavoring was not overpowering and the meat was really moist. The store owner was there(nice guy), and he explained that we can expect hundreds of more locations throughout the US very soon. I can’t wait til one opens in Chicago. In the meantime, I have a new favorite Asian restaurant to visit next time I’m in Atlanta.
