I read reviews before making reservations. I hoped that most of the people were wrong… Boy was I wrong. Had reservations for 7 pm was seated around 7:40. Spoke with the manager Shameca(who was extremely rude by the way) and we were seated maybe 10 minutes later. The waitress was a nice older older women who was very heplful The Food was bland as ever. I even asked for extra seasoning. I will Not be in a rush to go back

Went there today, 2.1.2016. I don’t know what has happened to this location. The service is awful, the food was bland. I didn’t even see a Japanese cook! It took forever for the chef to come out to cook. I was so hungry. My tea was cool. Awful. So sad. This was once the place to go. I will go to Peachtree Street location from now on.

I always have a good time here. I came for my birthday and used the $ 30 coupon with entrée purchase they send out. Great because you will most likely come with a friend anyway, might as well get your bday meal free. Food was amazing and entertaining. Seems like they’ve been adding more flavor to the food. And even if you’re on a budget, come get some fried hibachi rice! #Garlicbutter!

Don’t eat here. We were seated at 9:45 and we didn’t get our soups and salad until 11:00 and our main courses until 11:30. We had to flag our waitress every time we wanted a drink so we ended up just ordering drinks from the bar in the middle of our meal. Awful service, seems like it was everyone’s first day.

Won’t be back… Arrived at 8:30 pm for a birthday dinner with a party of 4. They said the wait was about 15 minutes. An hour later we got seated. The server came and took our drink orders. I ordered a Mango lemonade which was the best thing about the meal. The chicken fried rice tasted like garlic fried rice and when I say garlic it taste like it had been smothered in garlic. I got steak and chicken and also their noodles which I ordered spicy. You also get some mushroom soup before your meal and they brought it out cold. Chicken and steak had no taste what so ever. The noodles were spicy and 2⁄5 in taste in my opinion. The yum you sauce was very think and not very good at all. I would not recommend this place

Went for a birthday dinner — this is my first visit in a very long time. The high’s: our chef was energetic and engaging. Since this is table-side hibachi, the chef makes the experience. Food was quite good — no issues there. Low’s: it is LOUD. Between birthday clapping, cooking utensils dinging, and just overall noise, conversation was a challenge. Our server did not have the same enthusiasm and pleasant disposition as our chef; she boarded on surly. We had to go to the bar for drinks because she was not bringing them on a timely basis(I’m talking a 20 min wait with no drink in sight). And last, they apparently did not have enough chefs to keep the tables moving. After our soups and salads arrived, it was easily another 30 min before our chef arrived. We hit that«it’s been a long time — where is dinner?» wait.

Subpar experience. Sat at the table for about 35 minutes before the chef showed up to start cooking. The chef(Julius)wasn’t interactive at all and very short. Did one little trick. The food itself was very bland. The only good part about the entire experience was our server. She was awesome! Very sweet and personable. Not sure if I will be returning to this establishment.

I met my friend here for a weekday lunch. Upon arrival I was immediately greeted by the hostess which was suprising based on these reviews. I had to wait until my friend arrived to be seated, but once she did, we went right to our table. A few other people came to share, and once everyone was seated the waiter took our drink and food orders. Everything was going well until it took FOREVER for us to get our soups/salads and for the chef to come out. We were all sitting at the table like, WTH?! Once the chef arrived it was smooth sailing. He was great and did little things to keep us entertained. The food was tasty and fresh… no complaints there. But I felt like the atmostphere was dingy and runned down. Not sure I’ll be back… but my experience was OK.

241215 — Finally made our way to Benihana’s. I ordered filet mignon & scallops with steamed white rice. Beau ordered the steak, shrimp, and chicken with fried rice. We enjoyed the food and we had a great waiter‼

The 3 stars is because the food was good. Took over an hour to get seated during express lunch and the waitress was not great at all. Barely got a refill. I do not complain in public but I will Unilocal in a second. The others at the table had a hard time with management when we came in but they seemed to do what they could for me and my guest. I just expect a better experience for the price so I really hope the next time I go they have it together!

By FAR the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had in my LIFE! First, there was about 10 minutes that I stood at the hostess stand until a woman came to put some menus up. Did she speak? No. Did she even tell me that someone would be with me shortly? No. Did she see me? Yes, lol she sure did… even made eye contact. That was probably my cue to leave. Then, the hostess comes over, apparently angry at the rest of the world. She half greets me, and had a very rude disposition throughout our entire interaction. Maybe I should have left after that, but I really wanted to eat here, being that this is the closest location to where I reside(Charlotte, NC). I visited earlier in the year and had a not so good experience, but that was months ago and it was a carry out. I decided to give them another chance *shrugs*. I decided to sit in the bar area since there was a wait for the hibachi. Guess what I did there… waited even longer. I even watched store ladies sit, order drinks, RECEIVE those drinks and order food before anyone even acknowledged me. I flagged down a manager and asked if anyone was working this area and she informed be the bartender was. Good thing he was polite when he finally greeted me. I know what you’re thinking, why did I even eat here, and outside of my love for their garlic butter dishes, I don’t have an answer. I will indeed speak with the manager prior to me leaving… yes I’m here, waiting for my food. They will definitely be told about my experience before I leave though… I have been unable to submit the form through the link due to website issues. I would not mind having a conversation if any direct contact information could be provided. Thank you.

Damn they’ve gotten stingy with the yum-yum sauce! Still good though but make sure to make a reservation. The triple delight, which is filet mignon, chicken, and colossal shrimp, is definitely worth the almost 40 bucks they charge for it.

I’ve eaten at other locations & this is by far the worst I’ve ever encountered. We made anniversary reservations for a specific time but the hostess didn’t write the correct time down, so we waited an additional 20 minutes to be seated. Our waiter was new & although he wrote the orders down, he still managed to not get it right. It took 15 minutes to get beverages & our salads came out 10 minutes after the table next to us… which had just been seated & ordered way after we did. And yes I understand what it’s like to be a new waiter… but this was ridiculous. My husband ordered a 2nd drink which he forgot to order… it arrived 20 minutes later… after the cook signaled to the manager that it hadn’t arrived. Wow! Next, our cook was friendly & did ok with the circumstances, but the food was really bland & not worth the money spent. I can not believe we spent over 2 hours here & will never return to this location again. Oh, the waiter also forgot to order things for the other customers at our table, thereby making the cook get a little behind on his presentation.

Went here Friday night and had an awesome waitress in the bar section! Honestly, I stayed away from this place because I kept getting wack service last year. A year later I decided to come back. Glad to see they’ve improved their staff in this section. Looking forward to coming back.

I love Benihana but this location is the pits. I have been coming here for the last 7 years and enjoy the food every time but the service is horrible. In the earlier years when I would come, it wasn’t as bad but still didn’t satisfy my expectations about Benihana in Atlanta. Today my friend and I have been trying to order to go lunch for about 30 – 40 minutes. The first time we called we got hung up on. The second time we called the girl acted like she wasn’t the one who hung up on us. By the end of that call the manager was on the phone but he also hung up on us towards the end of the conversation. I have no idea why it’s so difficult to find good help at the this location.

Two stars as food was well liked by our party. That’s where the pluses end. We had an 8pm resv and got seated at 8:25. The chef didn’t show at our table grill until one hour later! So 1.5 hours, with a reservation, before cooking starts. We checked in with hostess during our wait who said she’d send manager over. Manager never came by and we were there at table 2 hours. The other large disappointment was atmosphere. Having eaten at Benihana many times in our lives, but not in recent years, we missed the Japanese/Asian chefs who used to add to the experience & authenticity. Watching the chefs during our wait I noticed a real variance in who was«into» it, and wanted to excel at their skill and theatrics at the grill. So, you may get a bland performance-luck of draw. The attire allowed in the restaurant was surprising, as there were college age men with pants half way down in back exposing boxers, and a woman with a very inappropriate top(she was almost falling out of it) at the table next to us. Business or school casual would have been a better choice-surprised restaurant let them in with«appropriate attire» sigh at front. We’ll try elsewhere next time as too many good choices out there to risk time & experience at Benihanna again, unfortunately.

Well… this was once the place for a nice dinner. Not sure what has happened but this location is the worst. I made reservations using open table and arrived early to check in but it took another 20 minutes to be seated. I should’ve known then it would be a long night. Finally got seated and Yoshiko took out order(she’s been my waitress a few other times and is super sweet) but it took about 45 minutes before the manager came to acknowledge that there was an issue with our table not having a chef. By that time I was ridiculously hungry and could care less about the entertainment of the chef doing tricks on the grill. Once we got a chef, Uriah, he was such a pleasant surprise. Really nice and had just started working there last week. I hope other staff members learn from him. Point blank — don’t expect great service and even though reservations don’t mean much, still make them or you could be waiting for 2 hours… which is ridiculous. Nothing special about this place anymore. Mediocre service, mediocre staff(with the exception of Uriah), and oh yeah, just expect something crazy to happen like walking in and seeing a group of women with 20 kids under the age of 5 making alllllll the noise possible.

I’m writing this with a heavy heart. I love Benihana. I’ve been to the ones in Miami and LA. This one. Was. Terrible. And I got To go. Smh. First off. My to go order was for one hibachi chicken lunch. And a shrimp roll. The lady told me 25 min. It took almost an hour. Then the woman with glasses took forever. I mean FOREVER to pour ur sauces. No. Like seriously. It was PAINFULLYSLOW. I wanted to reach over the sushi bar and pour them myself. The white sauce was gross. This is the first Benihana I’ve been to that has it. Most locations only have mustard and ginger. The lemonade was good. $ 4 a cup. But consistent. I was trying to get something to bite before I started my night shift. I could have sat down and ate if I knew it would be 45 minutes NEVER. EVER. AGAIN.
