This place knows how to fry some grub. I’ve been to The Midway a handful of times now and their chicken tenders basket with a side for 6 bucks is a steal. You may wonder, what’s so great about chicken tenders? But these are huge, HUGE, juicy tenders with extra crispy breading. The collards, cooked with yummy pork fat, are delicious as well. Pretty large, rotating beer selection, too.

Been here a bunch. It’s solid. Food is just okay. Our favorites, and the most dependable items we’ve had: –Chorizo Cheese Dip: if you’re watching a game. –Veggie Corn Dogs: if you love corn dogs but are avoiding meat. Massive portion– 4 dogs is enough for a meal. –Green Chicken Chili: try a little dipping action with the grilled cheese(they add a tiny bit of balsamic, setting it aside from most pub grilled cheese sandwiches). –Side salad, their house balsamic is the bomb and veggies are pretty fresh. –Garlic green beans: but let’s face it, you can make those at home. –Reuben sandwich: melty cheese and meaty wholesomeness. –Cheeseburger: generic; juicy meat and toasted, buttery bun. and finally… The Nashville Hot Chicken! Deeeeelicious. Massive; sweet and crunchy on the front, with a creeping heat on the back. Pickles are perfect. The chicken is incredibly tender. Desserts suck. Service is good.

I love midway for drinking, watching football, and getting apps. Nice patio and it’s a good crowd mix of young families, hipsters, bar folk, whatever. Don’t get the grilled cheese. I’ve done it twice and learned my mistake. It’s been cold by time I get it the bread is rock hard and difficult to eat. Next time I’ll get the chicken fingers I keep hearing so much about. My friend loved her Rueben and my boyfriend said his dipper sandwich was good.

I’ve visited Midway Pub more in the last year than I have in the eight years I’ve lived in EAV. I can no longer tolerate the smoke in my favorite EAV bar, and Midway Pub forces the smokers outside so it’s a haven for me. I call Midway«Stroller Pub» because the patio is huge and in the summer, the«cool» parents come to have burgers and beers and bring their strollers along. Because I find this annoying, I’ve avoided the patio most of the time. And the smokers are out there too, so… Overall, everything is okay — the food, the drinks and the service, and the clientele is easy going. I can’t say that I love Midway Pub, but I like it. Midway also has the easiest trivia I’ve encountered. I love playing trivia here. I feel like a friggin’ genius!(Tuesdays at 8:00!) Unilocal 100 #4

I love this place. I love the food. I love the drinks. It’s usually a great experience. Well, it wasn’t tonight. Our waiter was slow and inattentive. Our food came before our drinks even though we saw them sitting on the bar. We were checked on twice and both times plates of food we were eating on we’re touched by our servers shirt. It was the worst experience I have ever had at a bar I really love.

A 3.5 for Midway Pub! Great vibe, great location, and lotsa beer! A loud place with plenty of energy. Came here on a late Saturday afternoon and saw lots of age groups, from college kids to folks in their 40s– 50s. Food here not so much. Got some really sad and unappealing nachos, a grilled cheese, and a salad. Everything is generic and overpriced. Staff is busy, so it can be difficult to flag someone down on a busy Saturday when sitting at the bar. Plenty of tvs to watch a game here, and lots of patio space outside!

This is my favorite spot. Fair warning though, it takes forever. I never mind waiting because I love the spot, and I go there to hang out for a while. The service is usually pretty good, but again it’s not a face paced joint. Anyway I love all the weird beers on draft, I get brunch there almost every Sunday, they have amazing beermosas, and the veggie corn dogs are on point.

Buckets of beer are nice and you can watch games here. Must! Very hit and miss with the food. Chicken fingers and fries are a safe, delicious choice. Grit cake stack is very tasty.

Great beer selection, great food, and lots of fun things going on: darts, putt putt, watching sports. A must when you’re in EAV…

Midway is one of my favorite bars to hang out at in EAV. Their patio is great, their drinks are cheap, and they showed the world cup last year. Their patio always seems to have some chill dogs hanging out with their owners, and they usually play pretty decent music. Their food is what makes it tho, their veggie reuben is delicious, and so are the veggie corn dogs which are a «small plate» but still way too much food and only $ 7. The Earl might be ‘cooler’ but the food at Midway is ten times better IMO. They also have a Big Buck machine.

This cute spot in East Atlanta Village provided a wonderful welcome to southern comfort food. I was in town visiting a friend and thankfully, this is where she took me after my request for some local flavor. Midway Pub is huge and has a very large outside patio with plenty of seating on the Saturday night we were there. The inside is fronted with garage doors that open up to give everyone fresh air on nice days. Speaking of fresh air, unlike some of the other places I visited in Atlanta, there either were no smokers or no smoking allowed, which is awesome. There were plenty of college football fans checking out the games on the many TVs strategically placed around the bar. For dinner, I had the hot chicken, which was very tasty, the chicken was moist inside and crispy outside. The«hot» seasoning on the chicken was not my favorite, but was tasty and had a little bit of a kick. The beer selection was excellent, with plenty of local brews for me to choose from. This is definitely rated«would come again.» In fact, I requested it(only to be denied) for NFL football the next day!

I love Midway! One of my favorite laid back patios in this city. And best part is, it’s big and its in East Atlanta, so you can *almost* always find a seat. Food is just excellent. This is one of my fav brunch spots bc I don’t have to wait a million hours on a Saturday and its GOOD. I recommend anything with a biscuit, and their fish n chips… ugh. So good. Seriously, seriously good fries. I am a fry slut. Also, their Allagash queso is un-f-ing-believable. I’m not like a basic bitch that queso everywhere I go, but this cheese sauce is the best I’ve ever had. I need to know what they’re putting in there… I’m actually not a fan of their specialty cocktails. I’ve had a few, and they’re always too sweet and a little unbalanced. But they have a great beer list and they can certainly handle a gin and soda. The service is very hit or miss. I’ve had excellent service, while some waiters just look like they want to kill themselves. But, you can’t beat that patio atmosphere. And its got a great night time vibe!

Other than the truism that the veggie burger here sucks, Midway is about as good as it gets for a neighborhood beer hall. The keg taps will force you to decide which one to get. I tried a blood orange Lagunitas at random and it knocked all other summer ales out of the park. Clean & organized, which is surprising and also 5 star worthy. That fucking beet-based veggie burger though.

HUGE outdoor patio for beer drinkers. This is my place to go in spring, fall, when the weather is just GORGEOUS and I wanna have a beer outside. This is it. Always a solid list, rotating taps, you’ll find some Lips of Faith beers and specialties here. Solid spot. One of my favorites. Chicken and fries is dope too. And the burgers. And the rueben. Just get it.

Breakfast Lunch Dinner The Midway Pub has some of the best pub/bar food I’ve ever had in Atlanta. I started coming to Midway Pub in 2010 for the FIFA World Cup Finals. And then again for the 2014 World Cup finals. For Lunch/Dinner I’ve had the Veggie Corn Dogs (veggie dogs dipped in creamed corn house batter and served with a creole honey mustard dip.), Fish & Chips (guinness beer battered cod, fried and served with homemade tartar sauce & fries) For Breakfast: The Dirty Bird (fried chicken, scrambled eggs, american cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, white bread). The Midway Pub is an ideal place to watch a game and have some decent food.

This may be one of the best bargains in Atlanta. Their prices on beer and food are out of this world. I’m talking $ 6 wings, $ 5.50 pretzels, $ 4.75 Terrapin Hopsecutioner, $ 5.25 Weihenstephaner! I was expecting the service to be a bit gritty and infrequent, but was pleasantly surprised with the timeliness and friendliness of the service. If you’re into soccer, or «football» if you’re of that ilk, this is certainly the place for you. We came during March madness and maybe two TVs were playing basketball and rest were on international soccer.

I only liked one thing here and that was the service. The server was friendly and efficient. The outside patio is nice if you like to be around smoking. The food was ok and nothing to rave about. The drink that I ordered was horrible(the brojito– I think). I couldn’t even finish it– it tasted nothing like a mojito. I’ll probably never visit again as I wasn’t impressed.

Great place for drinks and watching a game. It’s also just bar food so it’s nothing out of the ordinary for a bar. Pros: — lots of outdoor seating — relaxed atmosphere — convenient location — plenty of street parking available — good service Cons: — brojito is way too strong and nothing related to a mojito(aside from having rum) — smoking smoking smoking(since the seating area is open, the smoke comes indoors) — fried green tomatoes were soggy and needed salt — Turkey patty was really, really dry — Fries were cold and soggy Overall it’s good for drinks and games. Not necessarily a place you’d go just for the food.

So they have buckets of cheap beer here. Including my fav, Yuengling! …what? What do you mean I can’t just leave it at that? What the heck do you mean some people won’t care about plentiful cheap beer? Ugh, fine. Since apparently cheap beer by the bucket isn’t good enough for SOME people, I’ll tell you a bit more about the Midway. Okay, so aside from the bucket o’ beer deal, they actually have a pretty good craft beer list. I admit that I come to Midway more when I’m looking to drink cheap but I’m glad both cheap macrobrews and great crafts are options. And the food is pretty good, too. I’d call it above-average for a bar. The wings are tasty. The buffalo is a good choice, while the honey chipotle fell just a bit flat for me. The sweetness and heat were present, but there was a lack of depth of flavor. Personally, I’m big on the chicken and waffles, which is sold as a starter but is quite sufficient for a lighter entrée. The other standout for me is the beer and cheese dip. I want them to deliver me a weekly supply, like the milkman would do in the days of yore. I’ve tried other dishes, like the burgers and the chili. They’re all worth trying. I haven’t had the vegetarian corn dogs, which I’ve heard are good, but I am really intrigued. Service is pretty good. Bathrooms are fine. Parking is available in the lot behind the restaurant, which you actually have to access from all the way on Glenwood. Or you could park in the lot across the street, which I try to avoid because it’s not as well-lit. The street in front of the bar is possibly not allowed. There are definitely some signs and I know at least one person who tried it and was ticketed as a result. So proceed with caution. And one note of confusion: You can smoke here. Which normally means you can’t bring children. But I have seen children here. Maybe you can only smoke after a certain time? And that time is the same as when they kick children out? I am not entirely sure, but I know that on one visit, a group of adults and their children were seated across from us and I started smelling cigarette smoke later that evening. It was coming from the bar and it was much later, like midnight. Oh, that was the night of the college football national championship, which explains why we were there for literally hours. So, make of that what you will. Or you could call and ask, a thought which just occurred to me but honestly, I don’t care enough to find out for sure. To be honest, my priority is the beer buckets. Woo beer buckets!

Midway Pub will always be my favorite place to go in East Atlanta Village, not just because it was my first but also because I think it’s the best. For a solid year of my life, I played trivia here on Tuesdays. We sucked. I mean really sucked. They kept running scores for the entire season and we got last place. We also earned the Montgomery Burns Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Excellence. That’s basically the kind of bragging right that you want to put on your professional resume. Even if you’re the world’s worst trivia player, the Midway is an absolutely awesome EAV staple. They have an absolutely gigantic patio and you can bring your dog. Drinking beer with your pooch is always a plus. It’s even better when you can drink Strongbow hard cider with your pet on a patio though. It’s really even better when you can get an entire pitcher of Strongbow. The patio is always hopping anytime it’s warm weather out. Midway Pub offers really good bar food, or stoner food as one of my friends more aptly described it. Who doesn’t love an entire basket of tater tots? Their chicken wings are large and juicy with just the right amount of spice. The fish and chips are fried goodness. The pimento bacon burger is just what is sounds like and should not be missed. Really everything I’ve ever had here is simply incredibly great fried bar food. Don’t come here looking to eat healthy and plan on leaving full. The one gripe I have about Midway Pub is that service can be painfully slow at times. That’s never been a big deal considering I only ever go for trivia or to enjoy the patio, but it’s worth mentioning I wouldn’t recommend dropping in if you need to dine and dash. Consider me a retired trivia player and lifelong fan of the Midway.

Service was the only reason this wasn’t five stars. I got the hot toddy and the chili. Both blew my socks off. They make their drinks nice and strong here, and the chili was unlike any other I’d previously had. Has a divey feel to it, and would be an ideal hangout spot for a night catching up with friends. They also have board games near the entrance! Service was good, but slow. I think it was pretty short-staffed.
