Known for their«totchos» — loaded tater tots! Many other American standards, and some of their dishes feature a Coca-Cola BBQ sauce, can’t get more Atlanta than that. Also love their trivia on Weds, and they have plenty of outdoor seating. Great location across from Piedmont Park!

The Loaded Potachos(tator tots with different topping like nachos) did not disappoint. Tried a bite of the shrimp and grits and they were great. I had the Peachtree grilled chicken sandwich. Nothing to brag on. My husband had the southern comfort stuffed burger(fried Mac and cheese in it) and he said it made the burger dry. Service was a bit slow but it was super busy. I’d go back if in the neighborhood but def for the loaded tots.

The totchos were fantasticccc(I got the redneck ones) however they’re only getting two stars cuz the $ 19 Bloody Mary I was so pumped for was AWFUL. Presentation was great but it had zero flavor. And they won’t take it off your bill if you don’t drink it. So … If you like a bland Bloody Mary, go for it. If not… Don’t order it! Waste of $ 20.

I’ve been going to the Nook for years. Great spot to grab a bite and drinks after events at the park. Great late night spot. Cool patio & fun atmosphere.

We went back to give the wings another chance.(I had received a nice note from the manager thanking me for pointing out the saltiness issue with their wings, and offering me a gift card to return and give them another try). Well, they got it figured out, boy howdy! The smoked wings were delicious! I also had the Lamb burger. It was a bit overcooked, but that’s probably on me, as I ordered it medium instead of medium rare. Even so, the flavor was delicious! The sweet potato fries were also wonderful! Hubby had the Loaded Po-Tachos(picture loaded nachos, but with tots on the bottom instead of chips). He loved them and couldn’t finish them. A pitcher of Bell’s Two-Hearted washed it all down — one of the best IPA’s on the planet! Very good tap list! Always something from Bell’s and Founders! Cheers! We will go back!

Fantastic brunch experience. Our waitress was extremely attentive and the food was pretty good. The atmosphere was very enjoyable and all around a great experience. I had the brunch selection chicken salad wrap, it had a bit too much mayo for my liking but it was still enjoyable. I also had the Sunday $ 2 mimosas which came out very promptly as soon as my previous one was finished. I will brunch here again for sure!

My friends and I chose this place to have dinner because it was close to the botanic gardens and we had planned to check out the lighting in the garden after. Parking around here is kind of a pain unless you’re willing to pay. I was lucky and found free street parking right around the restaurant(beware: the ones right in front of the restaurant is 2 hours only). You can park in the garage behind the restaurant and they can validate it so that you will only pay $ 7 max. This is great if you plan to hang around this area later into the night. My friends ended up parking here for 6 hours and still only paid 7 dollars. You can also do valet, but their lot fills up fast. They did not take reservations and did not allow us to get seated unless we had 5 out of the 8 people in our party. There’s not a lot of waiting space in the restaurant so I felt like we kept getting into people’s way while we waited for the rest of our group to show. Eventually we were seated. They have a lot of burgers on their menu. I ended up getting the shrimp and grits($ 16) because I wasn’t feeling a burger. The food took a while to come, maybe because there were a lot of people here tonight watching a football game, but since we were in no hurry we just sat around and talked. What I liked about the dish was the grits part was two pan fried grit cakes with sausages inside(a little crispy on the edges, yum!). They were also generous with the amount of shrimp in the dish. I thought the food was decent. The food and drinks here are decent, but service and park availability is not so great.

Fell in love with this place as soon as I walked in. Loved the vibe, and our server, Ali or Abi, was an absolute darling! Her sense of humor was perfect, she was extremely helpful, and always within reach. The food was OUTSTANDING! We also had a few fishbowls to share. Two summer daze’s and one drunken astronaut. Needless to say, the summer daze was our favorite. I will definitely be coming back to this place to try their brunch on Sunday’s! Thank you Nook for being so accommodating.

I woke up on Saturday wanting a Bloody Mary and brunch. The first thing I thought of was the Bloody Best at The Nook and how the last time I was there I said I was definitely going to come back to try it. The drink did not let me down although I could only finish two thirds of it alone. Everything else was just«okay.» My food was good but my friend ordered the chicken and waffles and was very disappointed. The waffles did legit look like the frozen kind I was forced to eat in middle school. Also I tried to use my 10% off offer here on Unilocal for checking-in and my waitress reduced my over $ 50 check by $ 2. No genius here but that’s not 10%…Not even if it was just deducted from food purchases only… But considering the discount was a bonus I decided to laugh it off.

I went here with some family and had an ok experience. We ordered the totchos, and some entrees off the breakfast menu. There wasn’t anything special about the food. It was just ok. There weren’t interesting ingredients or flavors. We went here on a Sunday when it opened so it wasn’t crowded. There was a lot of seating but as it got closer to the afternoon, it was getting busy. I ordered their gigantic bloody mary and it was ok. The items they put in their bloody weren’t that great. If you want ok bar food or breakfast to cure a hangover, this is the spot for you. If you’re a foodie, don’t bother coming here.

The Nook deserves a solid 4! The feel inside is that of a ‘dive’ bar. While I didn’t sit outside, they have a HUGE patio for your enjoyment too! During my visit, I sat at the bar with my friend. MJ did an AWESOME job taking care of us, from making sure our food came out wonderful to ensuring we had full beers! The Drinks — They do have some craft beer on tap and in bottle, which is a must for a craft beer girl like me. Don’t like beer? No problem, I saw people drinking wine and they have GIANT fish bowl drinks. When I say giant, I really mean it. I ordered one thinking it would be fine as I’ve finished off many a fish bowl in other places without fail… Um, not this one… I had a rough morning from just drinking part of it! They do not skimp on the alcohol… The Entertainment — I was there on a Wednesday night and they had trivia! I’m terrible at trivia and was existed the team next to me let me help answer probably the only question I knew. I heard they had karaōke on Thursday Night! I WANTED to be there, but as I mentioned in «The Drinks» section, I had a pretty rough morning and just wanted to take a nap when I got off work. Next time I am in ATL, I will be back on a Thursday night to seeing a duet with MJ. The Food — They have a little bit of everything, but what I would really recommend are the Tater Tots. They have an entire area of the menu dedicated to cool and different types of tots. I went with the Loaded Backed Potato Tots, which was just shy of heaven. The portion is definitely large enough to be meal size, but my eyes are forever bigger than my stomach… To go with my tots, I ordered a side of wings, which were awesome. I inhaled those things!

I was visiting Atlanta and mentioned to my friend that I love Bloody Mary’s and she said I had to try the bloody best at the nook and boy was she right! Be warned that it is HUGE. I was unable to finish even half of it; not sure if it’s even possible to finish one. For food I had the standard chicken and waffles which was good but nothing amazing. My friend had a Mexican egg dish that she seemed to enjoy. Service was good, but think it could be better if they hired a few more wait staff. Our waitress seemed to have too many tables to look after. Overall, good experience and would go again when visiting Atlanta.

I’d heard from multiple sources, whether from word of mouth, Unilocal reviews and Atlanta’s food articles/blogs about the infamous Nook 128 oz. fishbowls. And not only that, but TOTCHO’s? What?! Parking is valet only only(minimum of $ 2) or street parking. Street parking wasn’t that easy to find on weekend nights, so we forked up the $ 2 for valet. And even then, the valet wasn’t the most skilled at driving manual, so my friend had to valet park his own car. So essentially, it’s a $ 2 paid lot. Sitting outdoors in the beautiful fall weather is worth braving the elements. The wind kept blowing and acorns kept hitting people in the head or falling in drinks. Guard your waters. Sitting indoors was pretty noisy, the constant bar noise is definitely not for an intimate date. The first thing we did once seated was order a Fish Bowl. In the two times I’ve been to the Nook, I’ve tried the Mangito and the Lanced Up and Quirky. The 128oz of liquid contains 16oz of liquor, whatever the recipe calls for. Both drinks were both sweet, tasty and easy to drink. Give them a try! One fish bowl is more than enough for 3 people and perfect for 4. The Mac Daddy Totcho’s were a little disappointing. I was expecting more to it than the scarce toppings we found on the tater tots. Oh well, nothing a little ketchup can’t fix. I would go with a different totcho order next time, for sure. The flash fried calamari wasn’t the greatest either, but the Shrimp and Grits? They aren’t coined«award winning» for nothing. I liked the deconstruction of the dish with two andouille sausage grit cakes, a couple leaves of spinach and more than half a dozen fresh shrimp soaking in the sauce. There is such an expansive burger and sandwich menu that I’m sure there is something for everyone. There was even a Shrimp and Grits burger, which my friend noted wasn’t as good as the entrée version, but was very satisfied with the size of the burger(almost as big as his face!) Overall, food is alright, service is ok. I just know that my go-to place for Fish Bowls? Hands down, no questions, it’s the Nook.

I would probably come here again but I wouldn’t be a regular. The service was good but they were slow on the mimosas. With a table full of future chiropractors, that was a major problem. We were left hanging for quite awhile and THIRSTY. My French toast came out mushy and undercooked yet the outside was a tad charred. They must’ve had the heat way too high. However, the manager was cordial and speedy to making this wrong right! I ended up getting the strawberry waffles and they were amazing. Unfortunately, by then, the buffalo tachos had filled me up! I still managed to scarf down almost all of my second plate of food :3 The atmosphere is nice but very busy!

I went to the Nook for beers on a Friday night. It didn’t have as much of a bar feel as I was hoping for. I was seated and had a waitress. She wasn’t very proactive. It took a while for us to order our drinks. The beer selection is not that impressive(very few craft beers), but I gather that it’s inexpensive for the area. I paid $ 4.50 for a pint of Bud Light and $ 5.50 for a pint of 420. Their $ 19 bloody mary caught my eye. I really wanted to give it a shot, but I couldn’t bring myself to spend $ 19 on a single drink. But I might change my mind if I go back. Also, I saw the waitress take a few«fishbowls» by. I think the idea is is that it’s a massive drink that several people share. Seems a little unsanitary to me but also intriguing. Maybe it’d be a good idea for a date. Overall, Nook is an acceptable bar with a few wild cards. I’ll probably be back, but I won’t go out of my way for it.

The first time I went to The Nook it was with a friend. We sat at the bar had a few vodka red bulls and the the Loaded Potachos(tots smothered with cheese sauce, sour cream, bacon bits, shredded cheese, and scallions). It was amazing & we both realized why the tots are such a hit here at The Nook. The second time I went to The Nook was for brunch with my family back in March. We sat in a booth and had a server with excellent menu knowledge, who recommended I have The Nook Style Migas(three eggs scrambled with tortilla chips, chorizo sausage, tomatoes, diced jalepaño, shredded cheddar, cilantro, onions, black beans & corn) SOTASTY! The third time I went to The Nook was yesterday afternoon for drinks with my two girl friends. We sat at the bar and we’re welcomed by two friendly bartenders. We had three cinnamon toast crunch shots to start(bartenders choice) which tasted just like the cereal, and a fish bowl to share. Our fishbowl was made with Mango Vodka, honey, lemon-lime soda, and mint. It was delicious and tasted almost like a mojito. We didn’t finish the bowl, as it was a lot of alcohol, but we did have a lot of fun trying. Can’t wait to return to The Nook!

Saturday brunch at the Nook was our answer to the consequences of a late Friday night. I told a friend — an Atlanta native — that I needed a Bloody Mary pretty badly, and she directed me here. Overall, the experience wasn’t bad, but I don’t know that I would go out of my way to return. The patio looked awesome and has a great view of Piedmont Park, but it was packed with a wait. We were hungry and hungover so we elected to sit inside, where there were plenty of open tables. Our waiter was hilarious, I mean he had me cracking up! But I can’t say that he was the most attentive. Service was very slow and there were long periods where we did not see him. The food was decent… my chicken chili was tasty, a little soupy which is fine with me, and a good accompaniment to the Bloody Best. Now let’s talk about this Bloody Best. The menu convinced me to order it… they have written a very persuasive paragraph on the menu about the necessity of trying it. The brunch menu does not provide a price… just so you know, it’s $ 18. Kind of a lot but it’s freaking huge. 32oz. I think this was a bit of a weakness, actually, because it resulted in a lot of the ice melting and making it watery. My friends ordered regular, small Bloodies and the mix tasted much better in theirs. The Best — lets just call it The Beast — was insanely decorated, but(IMHO) needed way more spice. We added hot sauce. Between the toppings(which includes steak and a full boiled egg), the chili, and a few bites of my friend’s Totchos(yum!!), I was full. A few other food notes about the other dishes that graced our table… the Midtown Medley was average. Totchos were on fleek. The classic half-pound burger was described by its orderer as «half good/meaty-ocre». My friend that ordered the smoked chicken wrap really liked it and was probably the most pleased of all of us.

After a very horrible experience here and writing a poor review, The Nook owner asked me back and offered to comp my entire bill. For that, I did return, but otherwise would not have. The 2nd time around the service was still pretty slow as they get extremely busy during brunch hours. I want to like this place, the owner was so sweet! She happen to be there while I was visiting and was sure to stop by the table. The managers checked on me often as well. I sadly can’t recommend this place for the food, but the drinks are spot on! I highly recommend the Bloody Mary spicy or the summer daze fish bowl!

I have to bump this down to a 2. I visited The Nook on 3÷5÷15 and had a terrible experience. The lady waiter neglected our table, forgot to bring our cutlery and also sighed multiple times under her breath. I don’t want to revisit a place with such poor service. Food: Still a good 3 for the price Ambience: Solid 4.5 Service: 1 Location: 5. Close to Piedmont Park and has cheap/free valet parking Never pass on the fishbowl drinks, if you have company :)
