The food here is absolutely amazing. Im not from around the area, but I come here just for their biscuits. Best ive ever had.

I’ve been here 5 times and still have not had a bad experience. The food is excellent, the biscuits with the cranberry apple butter are amazing, and the service has always been great. My friends and I love coming here and we will soon be back!

The food was ok. Nothing bad, but I wouldn’t tell anyone from out of town it’s a must try. Certainly it’s a nice spot from some food, but nothing amazing. Based on the reviews I was prepared to be very full and satisfied. I had the shrimp and grits. They were creamy and the salsa was good. Needed more cheese and flavor. I also had a side of gravy for my biscuit. It was a thick gravy that could use more salt. I mean very thick, like a paste. My fiancé had the oven fried chicken. It was mildly warm. Nothing to write a review on for sure. None of our food was hot and nothing made us want to come back.

I wish there was a 0 star option. The server was very ditzy and spacey. The potatoes are frozen and they warm them up, and not even good like crispy just crappy thrown on the flat grill for 3 seconds. The manager even admitted this. My omelette was browned cause they can’t cook eggs. My dads«scrambled» eggs where brown and dry. Waste of money. Waste of time. McDonald’s is better. Id rather just cook breakfast at home. At least my eggs wouldn’t be browned and frozen mushy potatoes. Yuck.

Great place to eat at. Love the food and the atmosphere. The waiters are always smiling and they really make the meal special. Had the cola glazed salmon. One of the best dishes ive ever had!

Very disappointed in this restaurant. I have eaten here twice now and didn’t want to give a negative review on the first go around. Unfortunately we tried again to see if the bad experience was a fluke but it certainly was not. The food is average, nothing spectacular but by no means bad. The interior and ambiance is not good at all. The layout is odd and hard to get through without bumping into people and it is very loud. I like a good and lively atmosphere but this was just LOUD. The bad review really comes from the service. Each time we came here we were ignored for a solid 15 minutes until we finally got a servers attention. And both times they said the same thing«Oh, sorry I didn’t realize this was my section!» Our drinks went dry multiple times and extra dishes were not removed(at one point I think there were four coke glasses on the tiny 2 person table!). This happened both visits with different servers. I think the problem here is they do not need to focus on good customer service if they have high table turnover. The location provides a constant crowd ready to eat, so they neglect to give the customer a pleasant experience.

You get excellent food execellent service and most of all GREATBISCUITSWITHYUMMYAPPLEBUTTER :) Every item on the menu is very good. 3 of our favorites our Appetizer Fried Green Tomates Shrimp and Grits The Baked Chicken Collard Greens and Fried Mac-n-cheese Oh and dont forget thier yummy baked goodies

What a disappointment. Stopped here for breakfast before leaving town. Ordered the salmon egg dish with potatoes and grits. The grits were clumpy, obvious the kitchen is slacking. Egg dish was cooked to the point that my eggs were getting that browned, over cooked egg look. My daughters omelette was the same way. Bit into a potato and instantly knew they weren’t fresh, in house diced and cooked. In fact, they come in pre-cooked, per the manager or owner, and the cooks throw them on the flat grill to warm. Seems pretty lazy to me, but whatever. I definitely would not go back. Obvious by the reviews Someone likes it and must not particularly care about how their food is prepared, or its quality.

Location: 4.5 Food: 4 Service: 3 Ambience: 2 Biscuits from here are everything you need for brunch. I got the Fried eggs salad, which Comes with a biscuit, turkey bacon, potatoes and eggs. Size was large and I was thoroughly filled It is a 5 – 10 minute walk to piedmont park and other fun parts of midtown. Parking is free behind but can be competitive on the weekends. Service is just a-ok. Ambience could be a lot better. The tables are too close to one another and more space would be nice. I don’t want to elbow someone sitting on another table because I want to stretch mid-meal.

I was beyond disappointed with this food. Biscuit was not hot it was more luke warm the outside of the biscuit was hard like a shell! I was expecting a nice soft biscuit, they are better off serving pillsbury biscuits out of the can, really was the worst biscuit I’ve ever had! I ordered the«famous» shrimp and grits, the grits came out luke warm like they were sitting for awhile. Had about 5 small shrimp in the dish. The server said that it came with with cheese no cheese when the dish arrived to the table. Although I ate it, I spent the entire time trying to figure out how these grits make them famous. Smh My son ordered the grilled mac and cheese he hated it! To be honest the food served here was not worth the trip I left disappointed feeling like I wasted good money on basic food that can be made better at HOME!

The food is amazing here! I got eggs, biscuit, and gravy. The line was crazy waiting so just be careful when you come on the weekends. But when there is a long line you can just walk up the street further and you can relax in Piedmont Park which has an amazing view of Atlanta! The food is hardy but I was quite upset when I got my food and ate halfway and realized that the gravy is filled with cream and I’m lactose intolerant. Make sure if you have allergies to bring pills because I broke out in hives running to CVS to get pills before I was going to have my face swell up. All in all the parking is easy just go up the street to Henry’s and just pay for the weekend pass of 10 dollars quite pricey but it’s for all day so you can venture out around the city and the park after your meal. The people were friendly and it can get quite loud in there. Other than that if I lived in the city I would be coming back all the time(with my allergy pills in hand of course).

A great spot for brunch. It’s tiny, so if you’re going on a weekend, be prepared to wait. But it’s worth it. I had the Piedmont omelette(seemed appropriate based on the area), which was great, with the dreamy grits(a-maze-ing). Loved the biscuit and raspberry apple butter(which I bought a jar of to take home). I definitely recommend it!

Great breakfast food! Been coming here for years and they always impress me. I’ve only ordered 2 things on the menu«the southern scramble» and the«flying biscuit breakfast» both come with the biscuit with the apple butter and the creamy dreamy grits. I’ve tried making their grits at home b4 that’s how good these grits are. I think the food here is organic but don’t quote me on that. If your looking to try a nice breakfast spot that isn’t really expensive and has good food. Flying Biscuit is definitely worth a try.

I can’t speak much to the atmosphere because I was eating alone and the wait was long so I opted to go, but I can sing the praises of the namesake biscuit. It was flying straight from plate to mouth because it was so damn delicious. I wish I had ordered two and nixed the oatmeal pancake cause all I wanted was more of the flaky goodness in my mouth.

Business trip. stopped by on way home. This place is remarkable… I would eat here daily if I lived in midtown. The neighborhood is awesome. I noticed several other cool locations around.

Decent place for brunch. As expected of Sunday brunch time, there was a line waiting outside when we arrived at 11:30. Waited for about 30 mins before we got a table so, not bad. It was a bit cramped inside and very busy. I’m small and had to constantly push myself in for the guy seated at the table behind me. The staff moved around fast, but there was not much interaction possibly due to how busy they were. not sure. I ordered the Biscuits, Eggs and Gravy and it was not bad. They give you a choice of potatoes, grits or fruit to go with it. I thought that was nice to have the options. The biscuits were pretty good, but the gravy could have used a little more flavor. So, not bad, but wasn’t blown away at the same time.

If I lived in Atlanta, I’d fly my biscuit often! I LOVED this place you guys. It was about a 10 minute walk from our hotel, so a coworker and I decided to venture out. And we both were so happy we did! We had to wait about 5 minutes for a table(which, to me, is a good sign to have to wait for a table at a breakfast joint on a week day) and were seated near a window. It’s a bit cramped, but that’s part of the adorableness of this restaurant. It’s eclectic and fun! And the 90’s jams topped off the atmosphere perfectly. So on to the food… Choices galore! I knew from the get go I had to have grits since that’s something we lack in Colorado. I settled on the veggie scramble which came with fruit and a biscuit and I then added the grits. The grits will be giving this Colorado girl cravings for a lifetime. Their name represented them perfectly… Creamy & Dreamy. YESSSSSS! The scramble was good but also a hard thing to mess up. The biscuit wasn’t my favorite ever, but the homemade jam was the bomb. My coworker ordered the fried green tomatoes and told me afterward that he literally would’ve licked the bowl clean if it were the polite thing to do. So I guess you could say he liked his dish. We both walked away with full tummies and happy faces. And it’s possible we will be back tomorrow. Creamy & dreamy… I mean it!

Location — The location is nice. Midtown dead in the«middle» of everything. The property is located on the corner which makes the views nice. Service — The young man Brandon definitely had his hands full. He was a little slow, however he did the best he could and showed a lot of effort. Food — NOWTHEFOOD. My family was recommended this by a fellow groomsmen from the wedding I was in. Let me say I’m going to have to have a little talk with him. I could of stayed home and made the same food for less money and taste WAY better. Sure I’m sure some of you are like … why not do that then. Well then I would ask those people«why?». I pay for good food, not basic food. Would I return? I mean maybe if there was NOTHING else around. The place is a little below average to me. But hey… everyone is entitled to their opionion right?

Flying Biscuit satisfies my weekly greasy spoon cravings, and I thank the Gods that it only resides about one hundred feet away from my domain. Sure, they don’t utilize the highest quality ingredients. Sure, the line seem unbelievably long all the dang time. Sure, the eatery may come off as a little touristy. But damn-it, it’s one of my neighborhood go-tos, and I love how casual it is. ***** I. FOOD&DRINK As expected, there are a lot of goodies on the menu that include biscuits.(Cool.) What you should know, though, are two things: 1) one can order breakfast for anytime of the day and 2) they’re known for their grits. Anyways, after eating about four or five different dishes, here are the ones I enjoy. *Breakfast Bowl: two oven-fried green tomatoes, crisp turkey bacon, and two medium eggs over grits — eat this if you want something not too heavy, but will still keep you full until dinner time. Their oven-fried green tomatoes are solid, too. *Southern Style Biscuit Benedict: biscuits aren’t fluffy, but the hollandaise and poached eggs rock. This is what I usually get, and it’s as consistent as the dog-walking route I take every morning. *Biscuit, Eggs, and Gravy: Hearty, savory, and delicious! So much food! You might go the whole day without eating. Haha. **Sweet Tea: Their sweet tea sort of tastes like it’s mixed with Trader Joe’s chai tea. Still tasty, though. Haha. II. SERVICE Considering that they’re usually slammed, their service has always been on point, and I love how friendly everyone is. No qualms here. III. ATMOSPHERE/DÉCOR The inside is tight with two-six seat tables spread throughout. There’s also a small bar that you can sit at, if you don’t want to wait(like any other place). Also, on the weekends while you wait, there’ll be a dude playing the guitar. He can rock it. haha. IV. PRICES This is important: Considering how much a meal costs(which isn’t a lot), one will receive a lot of tasty food. Most of the dishes fall around or under $ 10, and everything is very well priced. This is HELLACRAZY, especially for Midtown! So when taking all factors into consideration, it’s great value. V. OVERALL If I lived in a neighborhood farther away, I’m not sure how often I would visit Flying Biscuit, but as a Midtowner I love it and will continue to visit often.

A friend of mine highly recommended this place to me so of course I had to try it out. I took my mom, niece and nephew to try the place out. All of us are from Chicago so we all have very high expectations when it comes to food. When we arrived it took me a while to find a park designated for The Flying Biscuit, I actually had to ask a vehicle to move into one parking space because he was taking up 2 spaces in an already small lot. The guy had no problem moving so me and my family finally were able to park after about 7 mins of looking for a space. We headed into the flying biscuit and I was pretty excited about the outside seating, which is really inside but the windows were open so it was pretty similar to sitting outside because the windows are so big. After sitting near the windows for a while I had to relocate to a different seat because the sun was burning my back. We stayed in the outside seating but moved a little further away from the windows. Our waiter was pretty cool and patient being that we didn’t know what we wanted for a while because we’ve never been there before. I opted for the shrimp and grits with a white grape fruit juice, I usually order shrimp and grits if I can because it’s one of my favorite dishes however its what the waiter recommended. I also ordered an extra biscuit because I heard such rave reviews about the biscuits and not to mention the place is called the flying biscuit so I expected the biscuits to be amazing! I received my food and honestly I wasn’t really impressed at all. It wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t what I was hoping for. The grits were ok, and the shrimp were, alright. Neither were spectacular to me. The biscuit was ok, I asked my waiter if I could exchange my food for something else and he allowed me to do so. I ended up ordering a cheese Queso and I ordered it to go, so I can’t really rate that because when I ate it later it wasn’t quite the same as it would have been if I had it fresh. The best thing I tasted was the grilled macaroni that my mom ordered, it was pretty good. Maybe I’ll try the place again but order something different. Service was great but the food was just ok.
