Ok. I gave this place a second try after the first disappointing visit months back. I was hoping that perhaps time had allowed them to «re-group» and improve. Sadly, they have not. The place is dead during the weekday lunch time. The server was very nice, but didn’t seem to be in much of a hurry, nor did she ever refill our single served iced waters. I tried the Shrimp Po Boy. The SIXSHRIMP I GOT all tasted great, but definitely NOT worth $ 10 price. My friend ordered the French Dip upon the recommendation of the server. She ended up picking out gristle throughout the sandwich. To round out the lackluster visit, I ended by catching some discarded gum under the table on my pant leg. AWESOME. Spare yourself the visit and check out the array of other choices in the immediate vicinity.

We’ve been visiting the Old Crow for a couple of months now; we discovered it while on a search for a new Thursday-night trivia spot. It just happens that Dave, the owner of Trivia Zone, hosts, which is nice because we know him from trivia at Loco’s next door, which is now the Derby. Still with me? The trivia’s fun, but you also get $ 7.50 pitchers of Bud Light on Thursdays, which is pretty awesome. We’ve decided that the food here is very good for bar fare, but it’s a little inconsistent. The nachos are a prime example; homemade fried tortillas smothered in cheese sauce, salsa and all kinds of other accoutrements, including enough jalapenos to choke on. Sometimes, they leave a little to be desired, but last night they were fantastic. The burgers are also tasty, but a little pricy. Jim(the owner) and Alex(our favorite server) are great… very attentive and they go out of their way to accommodate. There’s even a ScoutMob out there currently, so don’t miss out. And, if you like live music, it’s the place to be in south Roswell on Fridays & Saturdays.

I had high hopes for this place after my first experience here. I took my office buddies to the Old Crow, thinking they’d enjoy the food and my recommendation. My buffalo chicken tasted like a Swanson chicken patty dipped in Tabasco sauce on a *stale* bun. I couldn’t finish the darn thing. My colleagues were much less than impressed. I was embarrassed to have brought them here. The management needs to focus on the food or else this place will be another yet failed establishment in the same space.

Don’t let the unimpressive exterior in a small shopping center alng Roswell Road stop you from trying this place. Fantastic food. Had the fried shrimp and chicken wings. The wings were as good as any good wings around town. The shrimp really stood out. Excellent shrimp. Staff was very friendly. Clean restrooms. And a great stage for live music. A band was setting up, unfortunately we couldn’t stick around to hear them. Will be back.

I was not impressed with the food here. It seems to be below average to me. I had chicken wings and cheese squares(sticks), things that should be righteous in a place like this, but I was disappointed in the flavors. And the live entertainment? Let’s just say my ears were bleeding when I left. Wow! I wanted to cut myself. And the audacity to charge $ 6 to get in. No way! When someone isn’t up there assaulting your ear hole, there is no suitable music playing at a suitable volume. No good. However, the bathroom is beautiful. I was shocked when I walked in. You’ve got this very ordinary looking restaurant that you wouldn’t even hardly discuss(unless you were a Unilocaler, which I am) and it has a lovely bathroom. Go figure. The service here was good though. Good job on that aspect.

This is the second time Scout Mob has brought me into Old Crow. The first was nearly a year ago when they had recently opened. There is a reason we only come once a year. And I feel bad saying this, since I want to support this neighborhood business. I wish they would invest in their menu — it is filled with items that are nothing special. There are very few healthy choices on the menu and its clear that they are more interested in the bar business than the restaurant. My family were the only customers on a Saturday afternoon and our food still took nearly 30 minutes to come out. I wish this place could become a neighborhood gem where families want to go. Please, please put some effort into the food.

I LOVE a Good Bar/Band venue. This one definitely doesn’t disappoint! I couldn’t be even more than thrilled that it’s close-by me, warranting Far less of a drive to get to/from it finally. Owner Jim Bryan is a very hospitable host to all his patrons and the the Prices on Drinks are better than average. I haven’t tried any food there as of yet, but it’s looked like an above par selection. But screw all that, let’s talk about the bands! Live music many nights of the week and Every Weekend is going to keep this place hopping, with the influx of some new groups. I recently went to see Col. Bruce Hampton perform there, amazing. (Remember him in Slingblade? I do, I’m old). This joint is taking back what was lost from the Brandyhouse Venue, that closed awhile back in Buckhead. If you’re missing all that place had, GO To the OLDCROW… There’s also a website with a calendar that lists the weekly happenings and menu… Quit whining, just go…

After a evening full of errands, we were hungry and decided to check out Unilocal to see what was around — somewhere we’d not been to. This place popped up in the search results and since it had a high rating — we decided to check it out. It was late — around 9:30pm when we walked in. The place was nearly dead(Wednesday night) — customers were spread out throughout the establishment very sporadically and sparsely. The food looked pretty good and I got down to ordering. I thought it was nice that the managerJim(maybe the owner?) came over to ensure we were happy and taken care of. I had the fish & chips. Nothing to write home about — but tasty nonetheless. I’d certainly go back here since it’s nearby and was good. If you’re nearby and want a decent meal — stop on in!

I have been to Old Crow 3 times now and each time it has been consistent… very slow service to get food and drinks. And the guy behind the bar is a jerk, which others have said as well. Overall food qulaity is good if you are patient enough to wait.

I’m not usually a fan of bars in general, gastropubs– yes, bars– no. But I really like this place, which for me is saying something. So here is the rundown. First, its a non-smoking bar. Awesome! I can wear something that is dry clean only and not have to take it to the dry cleaners the next day or rub it down with a dryer sheet! Yay! Second, it’s got great, home-cooked food. Let me say that again– HOME-COOKED. Did y’all in the back hear me? Because this is a bar after all. And it is bar food. But good, home-cooked bar food. I have had the chili, the homemade chips with melted gorgonzola cheese, the burger, the wings, and the onion rings. Everything I’ve had has been excellent. Nothing tasted bought and reheated or from a package. But the chili is definitely my favorite. So good– and I’m usually very picky when it comes to chili. Also, the onion rings are amazing. The place overall is a typical bar feel, but clean and also very welcoming. Every time I have been in the owner has come by the table to chat. The beer list is not extensive, but they have the basics and a good selection on draught. Overall, it’s close to my house, home cooked food, clean, smoke free, and when I just want a beer and some chili– this is where I’m headed. So that’s pretty darn good!

i enjoyed this place a lot. my dish(shepards pie) was delicious. the owner chatted us up, and promised if i didn’t like my food he’d give me a giant piece of cake. well i liked my food, but was tempted to try and take the cake. service was great, atmosphere was nice. tvs to watch sports and a small stage. it was just freezing for me while i was there. i also left my purse, and they stashed it safely until i could retrieve it. i appreciated the friendly and helpful staff.

Bruce Hampton, Swami Gone Bananas & The Mosier Brothers. Also, the food is GREAT, I love the Veggie sandwich, the burgers are good and the homemade potato chips with bleu cheese are AMAZING! its such a great place to come dine on great tavern style food and listening to some amazing music! I HIGHLY recommend Old Crow Tavern to anyone, its great for groups, families and parties!!!

Great. Fabulous. Wonderful. Delicous. Friendly. Family. and I mean the last one with every ounce in me. You are part of the Old Crow family when you are there. When you walk in and the staff smile huge and make a point to say your name and hello before you can even sit down, when you can order anything on the menu(and i know because i’ve tried something different everytime I’ve gone in now) and its ALWAYS good, when your drink is always full, when the bathrooms are always clean, when the game you want to watch is on atleast one TV even if you are the only one wanting to watch it(ROLLTIDE:)), when they have a GREAT variety of live music, when your facebook status updates consist of @Old Crow more often than @home… you know you have hit the jackpot. The Olé Crow Grill and Tavern is one of a kind. I can’t rave about it enough to anyone and everyone we meet. The owner Jim has created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that restaurants strive to have and a staff that others wish they had. Take time to go check this place out — it’s worth your time.

Very comfortable spot to eat, drink and listen to music. Great sound system, light and stage. The food is creative and tasty tavern fare. Diverse offerings. Good beer selection on draft and a nice bar. The bathrooms are especially nice which is a surprise for a bar. Well worth a visit for families or couples.

I did not realize this location was on scoutmob until I went to write a review as I ate in the Tavern! Talk about a bonus to an already awesome dining experience. The staff was very friendly. The food was delicious! We started out with the«restaurant made chips» with blue cheese, addictive. Another starter to the meal was corn chowder, it was a hit! I ordered a cheese steak with more chips = yummy. Others at our table had the burger, shepard’s pie, kosher chili dogs with cheese, fried fish sandwich. Everyone was raving about their food. I will definitely return to this place. I had driven by before am so happy that I came in and had the opportunity to try some fulling food. Next time, I’ll be sure to leave some space for dessert and I’ll be sure to try to shepard’s pie.

Great music, great food*, and a great time! *pretty much everything — don’t leave without eating the chips! INCREDIBLE, FRESHSHRIMP, great wings, my dad swears by the burger, my husband swears by the shrimp salad sandwich, and my daughter loves the spaghetti and meatballs — oh and get dessert — the cakes are amazing! Just go — you won’t be disappointed!

Scoutmob brought me here and the staff will bring me back. They are situated in a strip mall, and just driving by I would not stop. However, with coupon in hand and friend in tow I decided to give this place a try. It’s nice that it is pretty close to my house up in the burbs. The bar is very pretty and well decorated. Not a big fan of the high, exposed ceilings. It takes away from the cozy feeling I personally like in a neighborhood bar. The pool table and random high school boy playing the guitar gave us some entertainment. The owner kept coming by and chatting us up. I asked the barkeep what was good, and he said everything. No help there. We ordered a couple of beers and blue cheese chips to start with. Y-u-m-m-y! We couldn’t decide on a meal, so we spit the mild wings. Mild… careful there! Still pretty spicy for a wimp like me. But the flavor was really good. I enjoyed every bite. The only draw back was we started getting really cold. My hands and nose were like ice! We told the owner, and he said one of the doors was broken or something. No biggie, we were on our way out anyhow. Can’t wait to go back a little earlier and try out one of their dinners.

This place is great. The owner was here today and was very helpful with recommendations as well as offering to customize your order. We did the fried shrimp, shepherds pie as well as a club sandwich with focaccia instead of the regular bread. The shrimp was pleasantly fresh, definitely not frozen. The batter was made in house and light, in a good way. The shepherds pie was pretty good, simple and as expected; the same was true of the club sandwich. There is a BW3’s down the street which probably competes with joint heavily. So if you’re looking for a quieter, less hectic place, come here. The TV’s had good quality video and the service was excellent. It seemed to be smoke free as well as not overly loud as BW3’s can be. It was mostly empty, but hopefully the locals will soon find out this place is where you want to be for Sunday football.

I got the recent Scoutmob deal for this place, and figured that I’d stop by. We got there today, a quiet little joint off of Roswell Rd, and it was pleasantly packed. The service was great, prompt with the waters and the booze, and quick with the food. I read other Unilocal reviews, and they claimed that the burger was the bomb, and indeed it was. The patties were obviously homemade, and made from some tasty stuff. I ordered the cheddar and bacon burger with fries, and nothing disappointed. For an appetizer, we go the cheese fries, and importantly, they were the lame ass pile of taters with shredded cheese. Oh well, you can’t bat a thousand, right? After lunch, we kept drinking, and they really do have a ton of TV’s. All in HD, and judging from the bigass rack of AV shit in the corner, they can pretty much put any channel on any TV, including the hugeass projector. Multiple times throughout dinner, the owner came by and checked on us. Not only is Jim a pretty cool dude, he is also plugged into the local music scene in Atlanta. He personally knew a few of the local legends, and even had somehow booked Colonel Bruce Hampton as his local house band. Holy awesome. Needless to say, I totally dig this place, and will be going again. Their food was great, the service by the cute girls pretty awesome, and even the requisite visits by the owner weren’t too bad. I’m looking forward to going back, and possibly taking a came home from here.
