Do yourself a favor and DONOTHIRETHIS Company if you care about your personal items. I now have a less than 1 year old 65″ 4k Sony TV busted due to their negligence– that was carefully repackaged in the original box, Styrofoam protective corners and wrap. I hired this moving company based on the positive reviews(that I now assume are fake) and the fact it was one of few moving companies that advertised being insured. I hired 2 «professional’ movers for a 5 – 8 hour job that took 2 full days. Everything was boxed, broke down, wrapped and ready to go all they had to do was load. First two nice men showed up but they were FAR from professional movers. It was one of the guys first day EVER to move and the other said he’d being doing this for years. They complained for hours about my driveway being steep and having to go up & down the stairs. I brought ¾ of boxes down to help, also brought pieces of the beds that I could carry down. I worked nonstop with the movers. The new mover took frequent breaks to check his phone, text etc. At one point he almost fainted in my stairwell and dropped my very expensive Samsung front load washer. He & the washer were both unharmed, but I can’t say the same for our personal items or the walls in our home. On the last day of the move, we ran out of time with the movers and let them head home and decided to unload the truck ourselves. When I rolled up the door I found one of my TV boxes(46») laying flat with other boxes piled up on it. I freaked and started to look for the larger TV to find it thrown towards the cab of the truck laying at an angle with a patio chair laying on the box. When we set up the 46″ TV it worked fine, so my anger was lifted and I assumed my 65″ would also be fine. NOTSOMUCH! I plugged in the 65″ and BAM there it was! a black hole with breaks down the edge probably from the blow of a patio chair… I contacted the owner Rick Kirby first thing and provided pictures, proof of purchase etc. The owner said he would do an investigation and of course came back to me claiming no liability. He has NOT offered to help in any form to compensate for the damage. Also after contacting where I found the moving company I was advised that they are falsely advertising being licensed /insured because they never provided proper documentation as required. NOT to mention, I later found out that they tricked my husband into signing a liability waiver form… by telling him it was ONLY required for them to be able to touch our stuff. When I was finally provided a copy of this form it is written in a matter to assume that the moving company is releasing responsibility once THEOWNEROFTHEGOODS takes over at the end of the move. What an unethical way to do business.

Two workers from a HORRIFIC company called UCall&IHaul Moving-Cleaning Services arrived at our house to load all of our furniture and valuables into a Pack Rat trailer. We explicitly expressed SEVERAL times how fragile and expensive our stuff was and to take their time and be careful. We also had stickers that said«FRAGILE» ALL over our most breakable boxes. We bought loads of blankets(at a costly $ 10 each) and supplied several additional large blankets that we already had for the movers to use in between our stuff, in order to ensure that it would be protected. When the trailer arrived in LA(our destination), another moving company, called Ogre Man Movers, LLC(who was truly fantastic!) arrived to unload our stuff. When they opened the trailer, they were appalled and astonished to find how our stuff had been packed. The blankets that we had spent so much money on to protect our stuff were thrown in a ball in a corner of the truck. Our super expensive Restoration Hardware wood chairs were stacked on top of each other with nothing in between them to protect the wood from rubbing off(which it did). Our most fragile and lightest boxes were placed on the very BOTTOM in the back of the truck, under really heavy boxes that were not fragile. UNREAL!!! The issues the unpackers found with the way things were loaded and the resulting damage go on and on. Our wood Pottery Barn desk was destroyed, along with porcelain lamps(shattered) and gorgeous platters also from Pottery Barn. Numerous of our incredibly expensive Juliska platters from Bloomingdales were broken into a million pieces! One-of-a-kind framed artwork was in shatters, as were extremely expensive sconces and antique glass vases. Our Restoration Hardware chair legs all have chipped wood, our two night stands and the corresponding queen bed frame, along with a coffee table and console table all have large chips taken out of the wood. Several baskets from Pottery Barn were crushed and holes were ripped into them, shower caddies were completely bent and a chalkboard sign was broken! Our SUPER expensive Tempurpedic king bed had holes and scrapes, though we asked several times for them to wrap it carefully. A pricy antique wood kitchen table has a huge gash in it. Everything that we own was brand new as we just got it as wedding presents and bought the furniture recently, which has been sitting in storage untouched. I am a perfectionist and treat my stuff with EXTREME care, so it’s truly unreal that everything is now in the condition that it is in!!! We were completely heartbroken and OUTRAGED that our expensive furniture and décor had been destroyed because of the complete disregard for properly loading it that the movers from UCall&IHaul displayed. When I called that company to file a complaint, a man who claimed to be the owner of it started threatening me, which was absolutely crazy and something I’ve never experienced before! SAVEYOURSELVES and DONOTEVER book UCall&IHaul for your move!!! On another note, HireAHelper(and specifically David) did what they could to make it right, so I am very appreciative to them.

A Ucall&Ihaul crew of 4 moved materials from a truck into our house in Atlanta. They were paid by the hour and the crew worked slowly, spending a lot of time sitting, socializing, and talking on cell phones. At least one member of the crew did not appear sufficiently able bodied for this type work. Since the work had to be performed by pairs we effectively paid for four men and got the services of two. Some of the materials were heavy and we provided a hand truck and a flat dolly for them to use. When it came time to move the heaviest item the dolly had something else on it and they decided to drag the item using cardboard skids on our hardwood floor. In the process our floor was gouged and scraped. The Ucall&Ihaul web site indicates that they have insurance, and that was a major factor in our selecting them. However, the company owner was not willing to use it to repair the damage done. When the crew arrived, the foreman presented me with a form to be signed relieving Ucall&Ihaul of responsibility for damage(there had been no mention of this when we booked Ucall&Ihaul). We felt we had no choice at this point since the truck was waiting to be unloaded, with clock running and subject to overtime charges. When finished, the foreman pressured me to fill out and sign, in his presence, a form giving them a 5-star rating. Even then, before we discovered the damage done, it was obvious they did not deserve a 5-star rating and I said we would do the review later. Based on this inappropriate pressure I am skeptical that the high ratings given by many to this company are all genuine. The Ucall&Ihaul movers were not properly trained and exercised poor judgment. The owner of this company is unethical(the opinion of some of his employees as well, who actually used an obscenity to describe him). Ucall&Ihaul’s hourly cost may seem attractive, but be cognizant of the added cost of slow and careless work. I give them 2 stars instead of 1 since the work was done albeit in an unsatisfactory manner.
