I will give this place a second chance. Based on the pre-fix dinner menu for New Years eve I was very disappointed with the food. The staff was great, the vibe was elegantly comfortable and the bar scene was great people watching.

We booked a large table the week of Christmas for a friends and family get together, noon reservation. The restaurant didn’t appear especially busy and we were seated immediately near the bar. The service was slow, and we put our app and drink order in as quickly as we could flag down the server. We had to flag the server down again for a drink refill and to place our order for the main course. Our server had the entire bar section AND was tending the bar. Alone. But what was truly disappointing and pushed this review down to one star, was the person who was supposedly the manager. She was drinking with a friend at the bar, had her computer set-up in the corner, was on Facebook, not once did we see her make a drink, help deliver food, refill a beverage or clear a plate. We asked for the check and ended up getting up and paying at the bar. 2+ hours for lunch. The manager thanked us for coming on our way out, never once asking about our experience. The food is good but that experience was a total turn off.

I never had the chance to visit Watershed when the Decatur location was open, but had always been curious about trying the fare. On a random Friday night, my best gal and I were looking for a hearty, not over-the-top-fancy dinner spot. Remembering we had discussed going to Watershed before, I suggested it for dinner. Maybe the menu we looked at previously was for brunch or a different occasion, but I distinctly remember it being a New Orleans-infused spread, with étouffée and gumbo on the list. The menu on the evening in question was Southern fare. It was relatively early(maybe 6:30 or 7?) and the dinner crowd had not really begun to arrive yet. The restaurant was mostly empty, and the bar area was barren. The area of the dining room we were seated in included smaller two and four tops with chairs and banquettes. We were seated at the smallest table right next to a rowdy party through the rest of the space was unoccupied. The parties seated immediately after us that were also pairs were sat in booths and roomier tables for some reason? We were starving, as we’d both come straight from work and ready to order right away. While I understand this is a white tablecloth, finer dining establishment, it took prompting to learn what the specials were for the day, and politely stopping our server several times to place our entire order as he would rush off as we ordered one thing at a time. To start, we ordered the farmer’s cheese fritters, deviled eggs and a salad. Everything was delicious, but the fried cheese plate was a bit artful – the presentation was pretty, but we both found it bizarre that three cheese balls were served on such a large platter with so much garnish. We both ordered cocktails from the seasonal menu. She ordered a gin spritzer and I ordered a bourbon and shrub concoction. Hers tasted fine(light and fruity), but my cocktail was a bit off? I expected a tart apple-tinged flavor with sourness from the vinegar and some warming spice, but I couldn’t draw any of those flavors from it – it was oversweet. Plus it was in a martini glass for some reason. For the mains we had the pulled pork and the chicken and dumplings. The pork dish was a hefty portion, and filled a large dinner plate to the brim once all the fixings were added in. The meat was well seasoned, but a bit dry. After the fancy presentation of the cheese appetizer, the plating for the pork was incongruous – while I understand the items in question could not be plated beautifully(pulled pork, beans, collards, slaw), it looked slopped onto the plate and ran together as some parts were juicy and others dry. Why not separate dishes for the runnier dishes? The chicken and dumplings arrived in a large soup bowl and was excellent. The broth was a touch too salty, but the flavors were delicious and everything I could have hoped for. I found that it had a slight coconut flavor, though, which I couldn’t shake. Not sure if that was intended or if my taste buds were thrown by some added spice or seasoning. For chicken ‘n’ dumplings connoisseurs, be aware that this is a clear, not creamy broth. Overall our experience was a bit weird, and the food itself was just ok. I’d like to come back and try the fried chicken one day, and perhaps a dessert, but maybe sit at the bar for those days when I am HUNGRY and ready to chow down.

The drinks and music were amazing! However, the food was blah! I ordered the chicken and dumplings which left a lot to be desired. It was not the traditional chicken and dumplings from the south. More like a chicken soup.

I came here for a holiday luncheon. First, I loved the décor. I must come back and sit at the bar. I bet it’s gorgeous at night. I had a very hard time choosing something on the menu. Idk if it was because they didn’t have that many choices, or if I was just being picky today. Not sure. I was stuck between the battered fish sandwich and the the crab and shrimp sandwich. I chose the fish sandwich which was about $ 17 bucks. A little pricy for lunch if you ask me. I asked for the hot pepper slaw to be placed on the side although I did find it to be tasty. Not your run of the mill mayo filled coleslaw. The sandwich also had a creamy remoulade sauce on it and B&B pickles. The fish of the day was Catfish so I was happy with that. However, I’ve not had batter dipped catfish before so that was an interesting twist. It seemed to be a good ratio of batter to fish. Not much flavor though. The bread and remoulade sauce really saved the sandwich. Of course the fries were yummy and crispy. I also had dessert, I had to get the hot milk cake. I loved how our server knew exactly how it was made and why it’s called hot milk cake. She even told us that it’s a family recipe of the owner. It did not disappoint, hence why I couldn’t get a photo. It was so good!!! It’s a very moist, rich, yellow cake with caramel and sea salt topping. We also had after dinner coffee. I love after dinner coffee. Their coffee wasn’t exceptionally tasty but it was very bold and strong if you’re into that. Overall I truly enjoyed the experience, the wait staff was exceptional. I’ll come back again to check out the bar and have more of the hot milk cake!!!

Went here for the 20 for $ 20 Wine Tasting. First time going to this establishment but I definitely plan on returning for this event. Very well organized and reasonably priced wines. All vendors were very professional and approachable. More appetizers could have come out to keep up with the crowd. Well come back also to try out the food for dinner or lunch

If you’re a seafood lover and looking for a hearty well-balanced dinner, this is the place to be! The salmon I ordered came with a bed of peashoot cous cous and the salmon was just the right amount of tender. It was perfectly cooked! Yum!!! I don’t eat anything with four legs, so this was my place

I’m pretty much addicted to their sunday brunch. We’ve gone a few times with different groups of friends now and all the appetizers are delicious, and easy to share. The places has a smaller menu, but everything really is great and I’ve never heard anyone in any of our groups have a complaint. The specialty cocktail menu is also fantastic. All the cocktails are strong, but have great balance and are technically downright dangerous because they are so delicious but boozy! At least my group of lushes think so :) On sundays they have a live jazz band, which really makes the atmosphere for a great brunch. The trio of musicians are fun, talented and rarely take breaks. Its really very enjoyable to be a part of!

We had dinner a couple of nights ago and everything was perfect. Started with a buttery Chardonnay and a sweet potato tart. We each really enjoyed our entrees, especially the dumplings. Finished a superb evening with the hot milk cake and caramel and sea salt icing. Watershed never disappoints and I’ve been a long timer from their Decatur days.

I’ve heard quite a bit about this restaurant so as a prime Unilocaler I figured I’d give it a try. I visited on a Thursday night but the place was lit! Apparently it’s really a hot spot due to the residential property above the restaurant. What a nice property too even though it’s a little out of this single girl’s price range. Anyhow, on to the review. The ambiance and overall vibe of the place is great. It’s well lit and modern and the bar was spacious and completely separate from the main dining room(this was a HUGE plus for me). Our server was sweet but very overwhelmed. We settled on the cornbread sticks for a starter. It might just be me, but I prefer my cornbread more sweet and fluffy and less pure butter and flour. I was disappointed to say the least. On to dinner, we settled on the oysters and Kale Salad along with an enlarged version of the«Bar Burger» with a side of the tossed salad. All dishes were ok, but nothing to write home about. Apparently this is NOT the place to dine when trying to watch what you eat before the holiday. With that said, we are going to put this review on pause until I can thoroughly make a good final conclusion after having either their Fried Chicken or Chicken and Dumplings. Not bad for a start, peaked my interest enough to be back. Maybe I’ll try the bar next time(yes…with my fried chicken).

This is an excellent restaurant with a good brunch. The menus evolves, so the experience is always different. I have ordered the Egg Plate(think upscale WaHo) and the Shrimp and Grits. Their mixed drinks are also amazing. I went for a birthday, and was able to enjoy a slice of «very good chocolate cake.» It was also great! I highly recommend this restaurant.

We had the grouper, chicken & dumplings, Duck leg, and the lamb. The chicken & dumplings deserve 4 stars, the lamb had more fat than meat but the little meat that we could taste was ok. I personally had the grouper. The flavor was lacking. I wish they would have added more spices and herbs. The fish was fresh so if it were well seasoned it would have been perfect. The duck leg tasted ok too. The dessert: warm milk cake and apple cheesecake both deserve 4 stars. Very fresh! Overall the restaurant is just ok because of the food. I was disappointed because I love farm fresh restaurants. The décor is beautiful, clean and perfect!

I’ve been here a few times for brunch and it’s always a hit with the friends and family. I have to say that my favorite reason to visit Watershed is their monthly wine tasting. It’s 20 wines for $ 20. I’m not even a big wine drinker, but this is a great deal. You usually get about 10 whites and 10 reds. I usually stick with whites so I love that they have a large selection at the tastings. While 20 wines at $ 20 is a great deal by itself, the passed bites make this an even better deal! You get to taste a lot of different finger foods and they keep them coming during the entire event! Plenty for you to nosh on while you get you drink on. Hop in an Über and head on over!

Got off to a rocky start with I guess we got the new nervous waitress or just one hell of a off day. Ordered the Fried Chicken and the lady got the Chicken Salad sandwich. The Fried Chicken was very good and the sides of Fries and Onion Strings were great, just took a LONG time to get there and waited 20 min to just get drinks. Her sandwich was not that great and see why she only ate less than half, tasted not fresh and off putting. We had hoped to get the deserts but with time eeking away and such a long time to get our waitress back we had no time to try, what didn’t help was a mix up where we were billed for another table and the manager took 20 more minutes to sort it out putting us way behind schedules. Love the food, the service needs a lot of work here and the manager never came by to check in or even apologize about the mess. Not good and bad waste of 95 min which should have taken 30 – 40 min. ONELASTTHING — FIXTHEDAMNWOBBLYROUNDTABLEINTHEMIDDLE!!!, LADY thought she was going to get seasick with the food/drinks bouncing!

I thought this was a great dining experience and food! Parking is super easy which is always great in the Buckhead/Midtown area. I thought the wine selection was great, I picked one that was NOT so great and the waiter was kind enough to bring me another. He insisted which is always a good sign! We started with the duck hushpuppes those were SINFULLY good! They had like 5 of those suckers on the plate I couldn’t even the first one! Really really creamy and good. Did a tossed salad which was actually pretty great considering a house salad, loved the dressing. PLEASEDOYOURSELF A FAVORAND get the Mac N Cheese! It was like a soufflé of heaven. We also did the pan seared trout w the skin on which was cooked perfectly! I cannot wait to come here again. I also LOVE their bar area! Pricing was a little on the higher end but really good food so no complaints!

This place was awesome went for lunch not too long after opens time had their famous fried chicken which was very good but didn’t blow me away like the duck hush puppies. Excellent drink selection and my sever was(cute redhead chic) made experience very pleasurable with her personality and attitude. Can’t give it 5 stars as they were under staffed. It’s lunch time in midtown atl in my opinion the same servers shouldn’t work patio dining room and bar at the same time!

Watershed on Peachtree is a go to place for a solid brunch! The atmosphere of the restaurant is classic rustic with loft fixtures and finishes! Sunday features a bluegrass/folk music brunch which is a beautiful touch, it doesn’t get so loud that you can hear yourself think but no trouble hearing the music either. We arrived without a reservation and were told that they were completely booked but that we could feel free to sit at the bar! The bar has s full menu, it’s well staffed(I think they had three bartenders plus a back), the bartenders joked and laughed with us, made menu recommendations, and kept the glasses full! As far as the menu goes, it’s definitely what you might expect for a midtown brunch spot with a little more seafood than normal perhaps! Our party of three did different menu choices, one pressed chicken and kale salad,(which I may very well order the next time I go), one standard scramble eggs meat breakfast, and then the crabby shrimp burger! I had the later and it was exceptional good amount of crab and shrimp, the flavors didn’t battle it was s nice blend, perfectly cooked, awesome awesome dish. We also sampled and I highly recommend the hot milk cake! Very sweet but absolutely awesome. Watershed pours amazing cocktails as well, my buddy got an awesome Bloody Mary and I had a mint julep(in a pewter cup as it should be) that I could smell from across the bar due to the fresh mint and amazing muddling job! All in all the food is well done and flavorful but not OMG good, solid spot I regularly keep on the rotation for good music, exceptional cocktails, and solid southern food. The only reason I didn’t give five stars is the parking situation, they have a complimentary valet that was so short staffed they couldn’t get the cars properly parked and my car was blocked in! They were apologetic and fixed it promptly but definitely annoying.

My 2nd and last visit here. This time simply confirmed how bad this restaurant is: FRESHSQUEEZEDTHATSNOTFRESHSQUEEZEDJUICE — they clearly do not know the difference between a store bought, pasteurized juice vs fresh squeezed orange juice. The waiter told me they have fresh squeezed juice when I asked, it was clearly not. I asked another waiter, she said its not freshly squeezed in house, but it’s fresh. What?! How is that the same damn thing. It’s fresh as opposed to spoiled? Just stupid. I can buy the juice they give you at Publix and at this price point, would have totally expected a fresh squeezed juice. BADSERVICE — our waiter was seriously incapable. The guy was really slow about everything. MEDIOCREFOOD — had it not been for the two items noted above, I would have given Watershed a well deserved 3 star rating just based solely on the food. I had the chicken and dumplings, the baby kale salad with chicken, burger, all of which ranged from good to decent.

Well, turns out all the hype behind the notorious WaterShed fried chicken is absolutely true. It’s absolutely juicy, flavorful and well made. The batter isn’t super crunchy but it is oh so clear that they spend a substantial amount of time marinating the heck out of the chicken. It’s beyond juicy, it’s like milky butter. We brought Champagne to dinner because no wine goes better with fried chicken. The corkage fee of $ 20 is relatively modest. Between the chicken, the extravagantly rich wine, the cheesy mac n’ cheese and buttery mash potatoes, you’ve got one delicious food coma heading your way. Service is great. Really friendly staff and very quick. Light, airy ambiance and rustic décor. I’ve been here several times. The other two I had the burger and the pork chop, also wonderfully prepared. But this chicken could be the best fried chicken I’ve ever tasted, maybe even better than Grandma’s.
