I’ve been to this spot a few times since I moved here and I love the ease for me to walk here and get some dope sushi at will. Tonight I went in thinking it would be swamped on a Friday evening, but it was wide open. I have no clue why… but it worked in my favor to get in, get fed, and get gone. The atmosphere is always chill and the décor is nice and fits the theme. I copped some miso soup and some beef gyosa to start and topped off with an awesome lobster tempura roll. I made the right decision going to Zuma tonight!

Ended up here by accident since it was the closest sushi restaurant to Gekko(they were close for maintenance). We were the only ones in the restaurant! The waitress was a very sweet young lady who knew her menu very well! She was very helpful with telling me what is in the various rolls. They have pretty awesome lunch specials all of which comes with your choice of a soup or salad! I went for the 3 rolls special– fried Cali roll, Philadelphia, and a shrimp tempura roll. Around $ 12 bucks. Just a side note: the shrimp tempura is not your traditional tempura roll. It has cream cheese as well as imitation crab but good nonetheless! The prices are very impressive but the salmon in the Philadelphia roll was very fishy and not buttery like I’m used to. If I’m in the area I would love to stop by again but this spot isn’t anything I would go out of my way for.

The salmon skin roll and the snow dragon roll were delicious! The service is solid. Exceeded my expectations.

Zuma’s prices are great, service is great, and food is great. Usually. I learned today that if their food makes you sick, they don’t handle it with much class. Today(1÷17÷16) I returned after getting sick, to let them know that their food had made me sick, and to let them know what I ordered so they could investigate. The host said«If you’re looking for a refund or something like that, I can’t do anything for you.» I didn’t even hear an «I’m sorry about that.» I don’t get sick easily. If I get sick at your establishment after paying money for food that made me throw up, the first thing you should do is NOT treat me like I’ve come looking for«free money» — even if I had been. That’s poor service and plain rude. After that, my waitress(who was excellent both during service and when I came back) intervened, and I was at least able to leave her with what I ordered. I called later to tell them that my reception from the host was poor.

Sushi was great. Service was hilariously poor. Ordered drinks and after 10 minutes the waiter returned to ask for our drink orders again because he forgot the original order. When we were first seated, the waiter came by probably 3x in a 5 minute period to see if we were ready to order(we werent). After that, the waiter was a ghost. We had to flag down another waitress to place our order. When we ordered our second round of drinks from our original waiter, one drink was wrong and the second drink was apparently made incorrect(the waitress who took our order stopped at our table and looked at the drink funny and told us it was made wrong) the sushi was good, but I won’t be back due to service

Well, I haven’t eaten here in some time for good reason. Food is still mediocre and service still is horrible. I think she wasn’t in the weeds she was smoking weed. Really bad.

Location: Not easy to walk to from downtown but close enough to catch a cheap über. No reservation needed on a Sat night. Drinks: reasonable prices — cocktails around 7⁄8 $ Food: I had the Victoria Secret and Trust me roll. Both of them good. Tried the lobster roll, which was delicious. No real complaints. Just not a 5-star spot

What. Has. Happened? We used to love this place, and it wasnt too long ago when we found it! First off, the last two times we ate here we had bones and PLASTIC in our rolls. My husband cant eat cucumber and multiple times there’s cucumber in the rolls. Now this last waitress, Michelle, had NO clue on how to serve. We literally piled plate upon plate upon plate on the other side of the table while she kept giving us things piece by piece. While eating one roll two more rolls showed up, then another one, then another, then there wasnt any room(because we had a flippin pile of dishes on one side!) so we had to make room, then we asked for to go boxes and she brought em one at a time… it was a hot ass mess. 3 rolls had bones/cucumber and she eyeballed each one as if we were lying. Like girl, why dont you eyeball that stack of dishes on our table you ignored for the entire hour we’ve been here? And ask us if we might want some drink refills or something too. That would be nice. We had blushing geishas and weren’t even asked if we wanted more drinks or anything else to drink once we finished them off the first half hour. Our favorite table was so wobbly that our drinks almost toppled over when we moved around in our seats(I had to hold them above the table until the manager put a folded up piece of paper under the foot.) Michelle the waitress was MIA most of the meal(NOBODYELSEINTHERESTAURANT) so we had to call on another waitress for the manager about the table. I love the manager, the atmosphere, the area, but the new waitress and the chefs as of late are bringing this place so far down. We have to find a new sushi spot. Which sucks because this place has good fish and good prices. And they play DBZ on the tvs. Hope it gets fixed so we can come back again someday. :(

My husband and I are big sushi fans. Last night we tried this places out because there was no parking at our favorite sushi spot Craft Izakya. I give this place 4⁄5 stars. The ambiance was very nice, it was quite not many people there, maybe because it was Sunday night. We enjoyed that. The service was very friendly and attentive. The sushi selection was also up to par. I had the spider roll which is my favorite. It was good. I also tried the Victoria Secret Roll. This was super yummy. Then I order a side of crab nigiri. It just came out as 3 sticks of crab, no rice. Maybe I ordered it wrong, but I was not a fan. To drink I had the Asian Pair mojito, it was nice, but I prefer the rose sake at Craft Izakya. My husband order his usual spicy tuna roll, philly roll and he tried the bagel roll. He said the spicy tuna needed more kick, the philly was good, and he enjoyed the bagel roll. To drink he had a sweet water 420, this is his favorite beer so he obviously enjoyed it. This place is a good second if we can’t get into Craft.

It’s sushi. Gets the job done if you’re just looking for basic sushi. The Hungry roll itself was very plain even with the pineapple. The topping was too much, like too mayo-y. The tuna roll was okay. The tempura hamachi roll was okay, after a few bites it got boring. Overall, their basic sushi rolls are good if your craving sushi like crazy and this place is in your proximity.

My friend and I were here last night for dinner. Surprisingly it was not that crowded for a Sat night. Assume it was because the GA game was going on and it was also a long weekend for some people who have Columbus Day as a holiday. The restaurant was half full. Once we got seated, we ordered some red wine. Generous pours which I appreciated! I ordered the miso soup and my friend got the seaweed salad. My soup was fine but her salad tasted funny so she switched it for a regular salad. The we shared the salmon sashimi appetizer, trust me roll, and Godzilla roll. All of the sushi was yummy. My favorite was the Godzilla roll. Definitely up for coming back here given the close proximity to my place and want to try some other specialty rolls on the menu. Service was pretty good too.

This place has your average sushi but if you come often enough you’ll find some great rolls among the just ok ones.. It’s not my favorite spot but I keep coming back here because the location is convenient, the prices are decent, the service is fast & friendly. From time to time they offer scoutmobs which make your trip worth it. The décor is very cute and it’s perfect for a date night. Sushi ranges from $ 6-$ 12 They have mixed drinks, beers and sake to pick from The pink lady rolls was probably my favorite of the night(lots of cream cheese). The fried oysters are also very good here.

Zuma is one of those places that knows its position in the sushi world. It’s certainly a step above Ru Sans, but not in the echelon of magic finger sushi Bar(MF). On one end you’ve got laminated menus, but on the other you have cloth napkins and stainless steel chopsticks. I came here on a Monday night craving a roll and an appetizer. The crowd was light-there were probably five tables filled and two at the sushi bar. I ordered the fried calamari and two rolls: the falcon roll and the dragon roll(my guest’s request). I’d never heard of a falcon roll until I went to Zuma and I’m assuming that it’s based on our beloved Atlanta Falcons. It consists of: Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail, White Fish, and Masago Aptly named considering our Falcons are currently 4 – 0, this roll kicks ass. I can see myself ordering this every time. The dragon roll is very good however I’m not one to crave artificial crabmeat but my guest certainly enjoyed it. The calamari on the other hand could’ve been better. I had asked our waiter if the squid was frozen, she promptly replied and said all of the ingredients were fresh and had come in on Friday. With that assurance I expected something fantastic but was sold short. The calamari came out semi-warm and semi crispy with a side of vegetable tempura. I’m guessing they cooked the squid first let it sit for a bit and did the Tempura last — maybe? The vegetables were great, but the meat was sub par. I’ll stick with the rolls next time Zuma is that middle ground where it’s non-pretentious and you know you’re getting pretty good fish. I recommend it, but remember their shipment comes in on Friday supposedly.

LETMEJUSTTELLYOU! This place! If you love sushi, it is the spot to go to! I went in and was greeted At the door by the manager his name was Matthew. He was so Cheverus! Once we sat down I was then greeted by our server Zell. She was so sweet to me and my partner! Giving great advice and so understanding of our first time there and needing plenty of time to look at the menu. I placed my order for the California Roll(being as this being my first time here I wanted to test the waters) Let me just tell you! Even as the most basic roll to ever get it Was awesome! :) I must say every since I have brought back all my friends and never had a disappointment! A must try! Jolly good! Side note: beautiful part of city and such a elegant ambience and such affordable prices! :) try the lemon drop martini it’s great! ;)

This review won’t be pertinent to people who are interested in the sushi since I am a vegetarian. There was a Zuma in Houston and it made me wonder if this location is part of a chain. As it says in its title, it’s a sushi bar so there are not many Japanese dishes made by the kitchen. The location is in a beautiful historic neighbourhood and the staff was friendly. I had several vegetarian appetizers, including the vegetable gyoza and korroke which are like potato crocquettes. The gyoza was deep fried rather than pan fried but the korroke was mushy instead of crispy. I also had an inari roll which was quite tasty and the green tea mochi ice cream was delicious. It was more ice cream than mochi which is quite fine by me. My friends loved their nigiri and sashima offerings. I found the prices quite reasonable compared to the many places I’ve been to in my travels before I turned vegetarian.

So the last time I was at Zuma was 4 years ago. I used a scoutmob coupon and I had a bad experience and I never came back again. But Matthew(the front manager of Zuma) reached out to me on Unilocal to come check it out again because of new management change and offered complimentary service. That was a no brainer and I do believe in second chances. So I made a reservation and was greeted by Matthew and he was our server for the night. Matthew has been in the restaurant industry and is a lifer. You can definitely tell by his years of experience by the level of service he gives you. He has thorough knowledge of the menu and expertly answered every question we had. He catered to our needs by bringing us hot green tea because my date and I were feeling a little under the weather which I really appreciated and was a nice gesture. Level of service was phenomenal and made you feel at ease. Lets talk about the food now. From now till last time I ate there was a huge improvement in food. What stood out to me was that food tasted quality and fresh. We had miso soup, tuna tartare, ginger salad, warm sake, sushi for two, 3 amigos roll, and dessert. Miso was warm and tasty especially on a cold night. The ginger salad was excellent with crisp leafy greens. The fish tasted great especially the toro(fatty tuna), salmon, yellow tail, snapper, and scallop sushi that we ate. In Atlanta it’s hard to find good fresh sushi especially since we are so far from coast but no problem here at Zuma. I definitely liked the creative twist in the specialty roll we had of the 3 amigos with mango slices, avocado, tuna, salmon, and a third fish i can’t remember. Dessert was fun which was ice cream that was flashed fried with dough. So food was great all around. But couple of points to consider, we were served by Matthew and he was a great server, would we get the same level of service from a different server? I don’t know and it was also a slower night that we came but I do know that I liked the service and food enough to come back again. Thank you Matthew!

Lackluster service and sushi quality doesn’t match the hip and energetic Inman Park neighborhood. We checked out this spot for lunch and tried the 2 and 3 roll combo lunch specials. The fresh, nicely portioned ginger salad and piping hot miso soup were bright spots. Too bad my white tuna and salmon avocado rolls lacked flavor and they were small in size. Our table also tried the shrimp tempura roll which was a bit messy in presentation. The spicy salmon roll was decent due to the kick of flavor from the spicy sriracha mayo. The environment felt sterile and the sushi(from the specials menu) wasn’t better than the rolls I’ve had from Whole Foods or Publix. On to the service — we were seated immediately and the food came out in good time. Friendly? No. Transactional? Yes. A greeting from someone on staff once we enter the restaurant and checking in to see how we’re doing during the meal will up the experience.
