My husband had the Italian wrap and said it was excellent. Not a lot of bread and homemade cottage fries. I had a slice of thin crust pizza with pineapple and ham. Dry and yuk. No cheese on the toppings so they kept falling off. Would I go back? Probably not. Beer and wine only.

While on vacation in Neptune Beach, Fl at Ocean One resort(I will leave a review for resort later) the door man recommended this place for pizza, my husband is Italian and can’t go on vacation without having at least one, some what Italian meal. We decided we would go there mid into it vacation since the doorman raved about this pizza. We get there seat ourselves, after asking if we were supposed to, and waited about 15 minutes to be even noticed by one of the servers, who were too busy talking by the entrance to bathrooms(as I later found out). She asked what we were drinking and after ordering a beer and house cab we waited some more for our order to be taken. We ordered the pepperoni /sausage pizza and lasagna let me tell we were disappointed with both ! The pizza was less than average and the lasagna not good at all ! The beef used tasted like a hamburger patty and to top it off part of it has been burned. We also had to hunt down the waitress to order a second drink because after the food came she was no where to be found. I asked another waitress that passed by our table if she could get us a drink since we couldn’t find our waitress, and her answer was«I’m not your waitress» and nothing else! Not even«let me find her for you». Finally our waitress came we got a second drink and got outta there, to never come again. 3 stars for food and service sorry Al’s Pizza

Al’s Pizza is a long time landmark of the Atlantic Beach /Neptune Beach Town center. I have enjoyed dining here a few times in the past. The quality of the pizza here is usually highly above your run of the mill pizza joints. We decided to go explore something new other then pizza that Al’s offers on the menu. In light of it being Good Friday we were in search of something meatless. After quick research of all the offerings we opted to try the Eggplant Parmescan and the Pasta Penne. Both offered a salad as a side which is a nice touch. I inquired about having Caesar dressing as an option and it was available for an upcharge of $ 1.00. I agreed to the additional fee even though I’m not sure what the logic behind upcharging for that particular flavor might be, but I’m not going to fret over just a buck. When the salad arrived it had barely enough dressing to even understand it was anything more the a plate of lettuce with a bunch of croutons as garnish. Upon my request I was quickly served an ample amount of what I paid an upcharge to recieve. The Eggplant Parmescan was served piping hot and had a nice texture with enjoyable flavor. Although the whole thing morphed into an unrecognizable pile of mush before I finished the portion. The Pasta Penne was slightly undercooked but the sauce atop was a delightful compliment to the dish. The sever we had was lighting fast and very friendly and I would give the service 5 stars for sure. Next time I go I will be sticking with the pizza, they usually get those perfect.

We stopped in for a quick bite and were pretty impressed. The pizza was very good(had the BBQ Chicken), and we ordered the«toasted ravioli», which was basically fried ravioli — we likely wouldn’t have ordered it if we knew it was fried, but it tasted ok. Our waitress was super friendly and we would visit again if in Neptune Beach!

Al’s is like the bastard love child of good new york style pizza and dominos. Haven’t ordered in awhile so I figured I’d give it another shot since I had a buy one get one coupon. The coupon is the ONLY way this stuff is worth it and barely at that. As far as paying full price, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Yeah it’s better than dominos but isn’t nearly as good as they make it out to be. V Pizza and Ninis are well worth full price, this place just isn’t. I don’t even think the coupon is enough to bring me back here. Yeah I’m done with Al’s mediocrity.

Went to Al’s for the first time and it was pretty good. Ordered 2 slices of cheese pizza thin crust ala carte and didn’t like it. Had no flavor, dough was soggy not crispy at all and was black underneath, hardly any cheese. Wouldn’t order that again. Had a calzone, first came out wrong, they fixed it and the new one, pepperoni only, was good. Had cheese bread which was okay and the best things we had were bruschetta for another appetizer and chocolate molten cake. Decent atmosphere, nice server. Would give it another chance.

This place is awesome. The food is great and the beer is cold. The bartenders are the best. Would recommend to all that visit Atlantic Beach. Thursday nights are the best.

Just like every other spot at The Beaches, parking can be quite problematic at Al’s. Once you secure a spot you can try to garner one on the few coveted tables outside, a booth inside, or a booth or table in the far back. I first discovered this place due to them having $ 1 Yeungling and $ 1 wine on Thursdays. That got me in the door. The food kept me coming back. We’ve sampled many of their appetizers and slices. Even during the Thirsty Thursday rush, the staff is willing to accommodate and make the flavor combination of your choice. They have sale prices on slices during happy hour and prior to closing. If you’re not in the mood for pizza(what, someone isn’t ALWAYS in the mood for pizza?!), the various other entrees available are all amazing. Good staff, good grub, and the price points are, well on point. This is a great launching pad to get some grub in your belly for a little bit of coin before embarking on a weekend adventure at The Beaches.

Coming from Chicago and always having amazing pizza I didnt think I would ever eat good pizza in Florida. Went into Al’s one night with my boyfriend and the pizza is very good. Went back with friends and had a wrap and some lunch specials and everything was awesome! Not badly priced at all, great service and such a simple walk from the beach!

This is my most favorite place to eat. I love Al’s pizza. They rock. Such delicious fresh pizzas and pastas as well. Their manicotti is delicious, i love their salads and their sweet tea. Though pretty much everything is delicious. But even though we have moved out of town we still come back Joe’s pizza whenever we visit Florida. I highly recommend it especially on Mondays with their monday specials. I hate that the location in Charlotte North Carolina closed but I’m glad that at least there’s plenty of them in Mayport and Jacksonville because this is the greatest pizza place to me.

I love eating at Al’s during the week, during the day. Outside seating is ample and you get to watch life happen in Atlantic Beach. My pro-tip is: get the chicken Greek. It’s a generous helping of chicken lounging on a bed of greens. I should give them 4-stars for using styrofoam for cups. I’ll look past it this time since it’s nice to stroll down to the beach with an ice cold Iced Tea to-go.

The service is great and the price point is perfect. Portions are generous and we will be back. A great place for after the beach or before. The calamari is very good and the pizza crush is perfect light flaky and a hint of garlic infused olive oil.

I’ve eaten at Al’s quite a few times and at various locations but they are consistent with their food and service. The Atlantic Beach location is usually very busy but they continue with great service.

I’ve been a fan of Al’s for many years. While I don’t make it into this location all too often, I definitely enjoyed my back to back adventures we recently had with Lisa(I think that was our server’s name). My husband & I ventured up for dinner on a Saturday night and got there shortly before they got hit with a dinner wave. My husband ordered the Atlantic Beach pie and I ordered one of my favorites, the Spicy Caribbean. Lisa recommended I order it with fried chicken to take it up a notch. Totally changed the pizza and made it that much better. If that was even possible. The next night when meeting friends for dinner who were staying at One Ocean, we were hoping of all the places they would pick, it WOULDN’T be Al’s. No such luck. Lisa was there again and just as pleasant as she was the night before. This time I went with the Chicken Caesar — again substituting fried chicken which made her smile. The salad is decent, but their specialty really is pizza. I just couldn’t do pizza two nights in a row.

After a tough time finding parking and fighting for a spot near the bank, we made an attempt to have a nice dinner at the beach. My sister, nephew & I came here for dinner because the original restaurant we were going to eat at was so loud and more of a bar night there instead of a place to take an 11 yr old. This is the first location I’ve ever visited and when we walked in, I could just smell that this was going to be good food. We ordered pizza and pasta which was pretty good and fresh. The service is great considering how packed it was when we went. Overall, a really good experience where a lot of local patrons and families come for a nice meal. Haven’t tried the one on my side of town yet, but I’m sure to do so at some point as they always have coupons available. :)

Brian A. raises an interesting question: who is this Al? I like to think of him as a big fat Italian guy slinging dough. Hopefully it’s short for Alfonso or Alfredo. Then again, this local pizza empire could be ruled by the iron fist of a woman named Alice or Allison. Hopefully it’s not Aladdin’s, because that guy kept a lot of animals and his vest makes me uncomfortable. In any case, Alan put’s together a good pizza. The crust always has a nice crunch, and the dough is nice and springy. The quality of the ingredients is pretty high. All of the veggies I’ve eaten have been fresh and crunchy and the meats are about what you would expect. I like this location in particular for a few reasons. This Alec’s has specials on slices in the afternoon, so if you have been day drinking at Lemon Bar or any of the other places around it’s a cost effective way to sate your animal-like hunger. I also like the draft list at this Alvin’s. It’s big and robust, just like Allester himself. They feature local heavyweights like Intuition and Bold City, and well as some of the smaller local breweries like Green Room. Of course they have the big guys on deck. All things considered, I really like this location of Albertos Pizza. I wish parking was better, but that’s Atlantic Beach for you. Also, if someone could confirm the founder’s name it would relieve a lot of stress for me.

1 dollar cheese slices an hour before close. Doesn’t get any better than that when you just want to snack on a slice without the commitment to a whole pie. The spot where the slices are sold is a converted car wash, and the main(original Al’s) sits right next door. Very nice operation with plenty of room for people who want to either sit down for a meal, or grab a quick slice. They use Baker’s Pride overs and cook the pizza right on the deck(not a screen), so thumbs up for that! Only downside, they use Roma cheese instead of Grande. We all know Grande is the Cadillac of cheeses, so I’m not sure why they’re skimp, but the pizza was definitely edible, so why bother, I guess. I’d go back again for a slice, but not sure I like it enough to order a whole pizza.
